Hi!
So, today, I took a look at the zips provided by Lordbannakaffalatta, in his thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/mega-thread-root-unbricking-updating-t3400994
I changed the update binaries of the zips, changed the lines "SYSTEMLESS=false" to "SYSTEMLESS=true", and "BINDSYSTEMXBIN=true" to "BINDSYSTEMXBIN=false", and it means that now It'd install itself as systemless root. I'd like to see if anyone could test it, because I don't have my device yet. Thanks for help!:fingers-crossed:
Instructions:
Put 1sysless.zip and 2sysless.zip into your sd card/internal storage.
Boot into TWRP.
Ignore the message from TWRP.
Choose the "install" button.
Locate 1sysless.zip (if on sd card go "up a level" and then "external sdcard" there you should find it).
Install it.
Reboot your phone.
Boot into TWRP again.
Locate 2sysless.zip .
Install it.
Reboot

Zip 2 : https://mega.nz/#!rRpnyBAb
Credits goes to Lordbannakaffalatta because he provided the original zips!
Can anyone tell me what is the benefit of systemless root apart from being able to use certain apps which do not run on rooted devices?

Then sorry, I just posted it here because i need answers from testers :3
I tested it. It seems to work fine even though it was troubling in the beginning. Pokemon Go works fine just as all other non root apps such as banking or others. I mean I had this working before but I did it just to check this one out. Thanks Bro

I've tried it out with updated .apk and it works perfectly.
Certain bank with horse in logo was throwing "your device is rooted" error. I've checked Xposed cloak module but it failed with its job. Your solution works like a charm and now I can use banking app with root.
Has anyone tested it with the latest build (for L21 I think it's B584 and B585)?
Didn't work properly here. It installed fine, and seemed to work but opening the SuperSU app told me to update the binary which it could not do even after a few reboots. This is on stock B575 with TWRP, no other mods.
Worked flawlessly on stock B584. Had to install SuperSU from Play Store after flashing 2sysless.zip and to update the su binary
Latest version of PoGo working too

Unfortunately, PoGo isn't working anymore after a reboot
Just a FYI, the instructions to install this are slightly wrong, i'm guessing you copied from the megathread.
The process to install is:
boot to twrp, and flash zip 1
reboot your phone and open the supersu app, then uninstall it by dragging the supersu app to the bin
reboot to twrp and flash zip 2
reboot and voila. if you do not uninstall the supersu after flashing zip 1, when you flash zip 2 supersu wont actually be installed. just a FYI.

Received mine earlier today, and I have already rooted and installed Google services. The first thing you want to do is pick up the developer rom from Mi if it's not already installed. The numerical versions are different, but both are MIUI 6. Follow the recommended procedure. Once that's done, use the mistore and search for SuperSU, and the familiar shield should appear. Install it, and it should ask for root permissions. Allow it, update the binary, and from there you can start the process of getting Google onto the phone. In the interest of saving you time and possibly a headache, this will get you started. Since you'll probably want to take a break after this, leave a comment or any questions you may have and I'll get back to you.

en.miui.com. It's in the downloads section.
Install TWRP, install latest (non-developer!) rom, GApps and root - ~5 minute version:
Thanks to the outstanding work from folks at MIUI forums, TWRP is now available to install via fastboot (fastboot flash recovery _insert .img name here_). Since you'll be able to achieve root without needing the native functionality, you can pick up the latest update from Mi if you like. Ever in the interest of saving you time, you can pick up the GApps package here . It didn't flash via TWRP for me, but I unzipped it and installed everything with no issues via the pre-installed file explorer. At this point, I downloaded the latest SuperSU beta and installed it via TWRP to update the binary from TWRP installation. I'm currently messing with QPST and QXDM settings and will update with any findings to report.
I manage to install Gapps 64 bit and works flawlessly

I had the same problem, what you need to do is go to the security short cut on your home screen then permission then again permission scroll to your sms app and give it permission to send and receive.
Thanks, it worked but I find the default app actually better for dual sim card & selecting quickly which number to use is useful for my work.
I am having trouble getting root. I have downloaded and flashed the developer rom from the Xiaomi site without any issues. I have also gotten all google apps to install and function without any issues, but I can't get SuperSU to update the binaries, it always fails. A rootcheck application confirms that I do not have root access. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to install SuperSU from the recovery menu instead of from inside the android environment? Any help is appreciated. Take care guys.

You do not need to use super su just go to security application > permissions > root access and grant the application that needs root root access.

Can you post a screen shot of root validator so I can see what got installed.
If the partitions mount as you say then there may be a problem with the supersu script.
You should not have to install any superuser app or update the binary as the exploit uses the latest binaries.
I will be turning in for tonight so if you can get the screen shots of the process where it mounts the partitions and where it installs the supersu files and a screen shot from root validator that will give me something to look at tomorrow.

It is rooted if you flashed that one file that was posted but you don't have a Su Binary installed. I was trying to figure out what I have to push to my phone for the su binary, etc but no one seems to know? It sounded like there was script initially posted by Tanh but I don't see a link anywhere to it.

SRS seems to have installed the su binary however it won't run correctly still. It gives an error of "only position independent executables (PIE) are supported."
As far as I know with the last few days of research and flashing:
The "root" that keeps floating around here is not full root. It is an official samsung kernal intended for buisnesses to force apps to the system. It only allows adb root access, it will not allow you to install the binaries needed for su. Either it won't fully install and be useless or it will put you into a boot loop with no current fix.
SRS root does not work. They might claim it roots your phone but it is only a half install of su. I have tried many times, and it will not give you su.

Just dirty flash the ROM (just wipe cache and Dalvik), then root with Magisk.
Or I believe there is an un-SuperSU zip you can flash (to uninstall SuperSU), if you look in the Magisk forum section.

Did you look in the RR thread, to see if it will work? Popular enough ROM, I would think it woudl have been discussed at this point.
From what I understand, some custom ROMs may not pass SafetyNet, so if that is the case for RR, there isn't anything MagiskHide can do (hiding root will not be enough).

By "stock boot image" I mean one that hasn't been patched by SuperSU. Not necessarily OOS.
I have Xperia XZ1 Compact, that's Android 8.0.
I installed Xposed from within Magisk, v90b3r14. It seemed fine until I opened the Xposed installer itself - it says "Xposed is not yet compatible with SDK 26 or your processor architecture (arm64-v8a)".
What does this mean? What's going on?

I know. But I installed it from within Magisk, so that means I must have downloaded compatible version.

He means the Xposed installer APK. You have to use the APK that's compatible with magisk Xposed.

Yes, I am talking about the same thing. The installer was already there when I installed Xposed through Magisk.
Besides!
I downloaded it from within Magisk. THAT MUST BE THE COMPATIBLE version otherwise it makes no damn sense.

The installer APK usually doesn't come with the module. Did you use unity or API specific? Your problem makes no sense unless you installed the wrong version.

Unfortunately I have absolutely no idea what are you talking about.
I went to Magisk manager, then downloads or something, did a search for Xposed, and installed that. All from within Magisk manager. That's all I know.

then uninstall that one and look again in magisk manager for Xposed API 26 if that's your API version. Are you on Oreo 8.0?

Use the one for your API instead of the all in one
They look like this.
Got it.
Now there is no installer in the system at all though, and the link here https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268 is broken.

That's a link to the first post of the thread. That does not work. The link at the bottom of it doesn't download anything but reopens the thread instead.
Here ya go
That's where I just downloaded it from so it must be something with the way you're trying to download

Open the link in a browser instead of trying to reopen it in XDA labs. See if that helps. Could be something in your settings in XDA labs, maybe about opening links
Thanks!
Omg.
So I finally downloaded it, installed it, and when I opnened the installer, it says "could not load available zip files".
WTF already!
edit: and after I restarted the phone, I am in endless bootloop.
I guess I'm ready to give up on this nonsense. I can probably live without Minminguard (that's the whole reason why I wanted to install Xposed in thefirst place).

Did you uninstall the entire Xposed magisk module like I told you to? And then install the sdk 26 specific magisk module?
Yes! I did.
It all worked fine until I installed the Xposed Installer, which immediatelly complained about the zip files thing, and when I restarted phone, I got in an endless bootloop, and not even safe mode helped.

You didn't try to install the zip inside of xposed did you? Boot problem should not have happened. Especially if you removed Xposed framework completely. and installed the correct one for your sdk. Rebooting in between. But if you're still stuck unable to boot, you can always Flash the magisk uninstaller zip, then reinstall it. that will remove your other modules and you'll have to reinstall them.
