Hey guys,
From all the early feedback we've gotten from you about Remix OS Player, we've been able to fix two of the most reported bugs and have a new build for you to download. Here's what we've fixed:
Fixed most of the stuck at loading ("Patience is bitter. But its fruit is sweet.") issues
Fixed Play Store not being able to install apps
You'll know you have the latest one by the file name "Remix OS Player package - B2016091403".
IMPORTANT: Remix OS Player first boot will take several minutes. Subsequent boots will be much faster.

Is it possible to implement some kind of fake wifi connection so that apps that only work with wifi (Asphalt 8, Modern Combat 5) can be used?

The Play Store now updates the pre-installed apps and enables new ones to be installed, but:
1. The apps are updated and installed very slowly. It seems like the player file system is running slowly or there is some other bottleneck.
2. The player seems a lot more sluggish too. Not as responsive.
3. While updating the apps in the Play Store, when one finishes the player goes back to the home screen and minimizes the Play Store app. If you maximize the Play Store app, it continues, but the same thing happens after the next app finishes updating.
4. The install of the Player also seemed to take a lot more time than the previous version.

UPDATE:
5. The player just hung on me while in Chrome at the Jide home page. Cursor is unresponsive and the OFF switch on the external control panel does not do anything.
UPDATE 2:
6. I killed the player and rebooted my host system. The player seems much faster now. The problem might have been a resource issue on the host. Hard to say for sure.
UPDATE 3:
7. Just installed the player on another host. Same behavior, so I doubt it was a host issue.

I don't know what is your harware but i don't have any problem with 2 years Asus laptop tp500

yea the video playback and chrome access are a lots slower than previous version...
it seems something is very wrong with the hard drive access.
the lack of open GL ES 3 support and the lack of full screen or game controller support or large HDD image or fake wifi is very worrying for a GAMING centred emulator you are claiming everywhere...

Motorola xoom sound problem

I have been using Motorola xoom since last 6 month. Initially it was running on Honeycomb but later on i upgraded it to the ICS 4.0.4. When it was running on Honeycomb i could play audio files on some websites very well( like online news, live audio from FM stations etc). Flash player was also installed on it by default. After i upgrade it to the ics 4.0.4, i downloaded flash player from adobe archive page and installed the latest one " Flash player 11.1 for Android 4.0(11.1.115.27) . Now i can play such kind of audio files but after few minutes i hear annoying noisy sound which even becomes worse afterward. It has been a permanent problem, few minutes running very well and afterward making noise. I would like to know any techniques to get rid of it. Can i still go back to honeycomb version without losing its performance. Is there any other solution to that. Waiting for reply.

-Adjusted some layouts for different size devices. It still will not be perfect, but it will be better.
-When clicking on the game download notification, it will take you to the apps main page.
-When clicking on a game, the main page will no longer interrupt the page while loading its list of games.
-Downloading on Tablets has been fixed.
-Fixed an issue where if you downloaded a game and then return to any games listing, the notification would report that the game download was %100 when in fact it was still downloading.

AGS:

-Search feature so you can easily find a game you know you want. With 9 games currently available, it shouldn't be too hard to find anyway, but as the database expands, you want to have a search feature so that you can find games easily.
-Slightly different Interface.
-Other little things such as bug fixes, etc...
A new version of the app will be updated to contain a new list of games and features. This will be done once a week. At times, with the updates, new features will also be made available with the App.

Sorry for this one, I had to pull it originally from the store as I noticed a major bug in it. Either way, I have now re-uploaded and it is ready to go.
Games:
-No new games added. I apologize for that. Getting the kinks out of AGS has been very difficult and I had to focus all my time on that for now. However, the next update will have an additional 21 games, bringing it up to 30 games. That will be later in this week or early next.
Interface:
-Updated the Menu system so that it works with the older and the newer versions of Android OS, especially for devices without a hard menu button.
-We now have an action bar which works very well with the design of the app.
AGS:
-JJS has updated his port to Android and therefore it has been included in this update. A new notable feature is that you can use the menu button to bring up the keyboard. Another feature is that its configuration settings are now available and exposed to outside apps, therefore, In the next version coming, we now can allow users to set configuration options for AGS and for the games in general. At the moment it may work, at times it may not. Need to investigate whats going on.
App:
-The App now properly checks if AGS has been installed or not and will prompt you upon the first time you run the app to install it.
-If you do not have the latest daily build of AGS, the app will also prompt you to update AGS.
-Downloading and extracting has been fixed. Therefore, games will properly install whether you are using viewing the app or the game page or not.
-Notification telling you what percentage of the game is downloaded and what its current process is. Please note though that if your device is charging, the notification may not appear properly.
-Fixed some bug fixes.
-Improved App performance.
Games Page:
-If the game has a Youtube vide, you will now have a menu option to view the youtube video.
-If your game provides you with errors, or if your game is not installed properly, you will have the option to re-install the game now or to delete the game directory.

- Added a Genre Page for the games and an installed games view.
- Removed Landscape version and different size versions. The app works on almost %100 of all devices and From Android 3+ you can stretch the app on your screen to make it compatible (Built in feature with Android, not this app). So, the app should look good enough on any device. It may not end up looking pretty, but at the very least, smartphones should look good.
- Changed the application icon (Thanks to Selmiac from the AGS Forums)
- Changed Play Store details and description as well as version number.

Interface:
- Updated the interface to look a little cleaner, have a better color scheme that fits in with AGS and its website.

Footprint:
- The app will have a smaller footprint than it did before when adding new games. Before we would add the screenshots into the apps resources, making the app larger and larger. This time around, the games list and page will simply load the games screenshot off the web, meaning that the app size will hardly increase as games are added.
AGS Runtime:
-Latest Run Time Build has been added.
-If you have AGS already installed, you can still install the latest version through the app.
Games Page Features:
- New Menu option to take you to the games official web site.
- New Menu option that takes you to the games AGS Database page where you can find more details about the game and user reviews.
- New Menu option that takes you to the main page.
- New Menu option if the game is installed that launches AGS and allows you to play the game.
- If a Game is installed, you can uninstall the game.
New Features:
- You have a "Help" option in the menu that helps you get around the app.
- You have a "What is AGS" option in the menu explaining what AGS is.
- You also have an "About" Section giving you information on the team that brought you AGS.
- Added a Progress Notification to the downloads so that you are aware the game is still downloading.
Bug Fixes:
- Some people were saying that they were having download issues. I looked into it, tinkered with what I could and hope that it solved the issue.
- ANR keyDispatchingTimedOut errors that Many Galaxy S3 and Nexus 7 users were experiencing should be fixed now, or at the very least, made to happen less frequently.
-Freeze ups after the game downloads have been fixed.

[Q] Music playback stopped when multitasking

I use Poweramp for my music playing needs, and it works great, but when I open Chrome or Facebook, the system automatically shuts off the music. I hate this, and I have tweaked every possible option in the Poweramp configuration to keep the service alive, but nothing works. I can understand that the device starts shutting down other software when running out of RAM, but I would expect it not to close the media player app.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
The same happens to me with Google play music too. But some times the music playback stops even when I'm not multitasking, meaning I play music and lock screen and listen thru my headsets.
Any thoughts?

Same problem here. Happens with several music players including Poweramp and Shuttle so it's not necessarily a bug within the music players themselves.
This will happen to me even when there is 150-200MB of RAM free, so it seems strange that it feels the need to close these background apps.
I am now rooted with a custom ROM, but this happened even beforehand, I had hoped rooting would help matters, sadly not.
I assume all of your music is on an external SD card? Have you tried playing music from the internal storage?
I have my music in my internal storage only and yet it happened.
For the last two days play back is smooth after I updated to Play Music from Lollipop.☺☺

Strange, I couldn't recreate the problem when playing off internal storage. I will have to try another SD card and see if the problem persists.

I'm fairly sure its an issue with my external SD card. I moved a few albums onto my internal storage and could not recreate the problem despite keep as many high RAM usage apps open as possible.
I switched back to using music on the SD card this morning and it crashed within minutes. All of this has been tested using Poweramp.
I can think of a few things to try and will report back
Try Internal storage - Success! Unable to recreate the problem. However not a brilliant solution as I have only 5GB of usable internal storage.
Accessing over 20GB of music - Try a smaller subset of folders - Problem still occurs.
Using a 64GB SD card, reformatted to FAT32. Try smaller 32GB SD card. - will report back when I have tried this

Pandora and Play Music also stops for me when I launch Clash or Clans but they both keep playing when I launch the Chrome browser and view some pages. All the apps I mentioned are installed on internal memory.
So, for me, any music-playing app (including streaming apps) stops when I launch certain apps but not when I launch other apps.
Also happens for me. A reboot will suppress the problem for quite some time
I am thinking it might really be memory manager problems.

I did experience one single crash while playing music off internal memory, but it happens 10x as often when playing off external SD card, so I guess that's not the only issue here.
If it was purely a memory manager problem, then why does altering the priority of poweramp make no difference to the crashing?

This is a memory management problem in moto g.....There is a moto forum post regarding this.. Here is the link https://forums.motorola.com/posts/6168839e0e ..Please make some noise so that they fix it with an update.. This happens not only with music app but also with other background apps...Cant play music while surfing...
Same problem.
Any active music player crashes once I start web browsing. It is very annoying. Please has anyone found a solution. I've tried all possible solutions such as, clearing app cache, wiping dalvik cache from bootloader, reinstalling the music player. Nothing has helped as yet. Also can't really multi task with the phone right now. It seems that any process that is not in focus is stopped in sometime.
Off topic, even asphalt 8 does not run proprlerly, it too crashes in between races. Think it is related to the same issue.

Well if it really is purely a memory manager problem it may be related to another issue I have:
Often, when locked, pressing the power button takes 5-10 for the phone to wake. when it does, I am usually greeted with the "com.android.systemui isn't responding" message.
Anybody else also experiencing this problem? (note: you won't see the message unless you have "Show all ANRs" ticked under Settings->Developer options)

Yes, it happens to me as well. I hope Motorola fixes this.
I guess this might be a stupid question but has anyone tried using ART? I believe the memory management varies between ART and dalvik (although I don't understand the exact differences).
I'll probably try this over the next couple of days in any case to see if there's a noticeable difference.

So I tried freezing some Moto system apps (though it might be bad for the system) to free up some RAM. After that I've installed Auto Memory Manager and tweaked some minfree and OOM settings. So far so good. Tested out Spotify stream in background with Chrome tabs open and switching and taking pictures with the Camera app. Chrome Tabs still refresh when i switch in between but the music still runs in background.
How about you guys?

Hey thanks for the tip. I installed Auto Memory Manager and did some tweaks. I'm using rocker player, I also doubled its buffer and white listed it in auto memory manager. I'm running dalvik, its working better. It still quits but not untill i open more than 4 tabs on chrome and do multi tasking.
Also for any music player, if you swipe it out is recent tasks the music stops. Which never happened it the earlier versions of android.
So try a trick, swipe the music player out of recent tasks and start music from headset button of wedget, then see if the playback stops while browsing, for me it hasen't yet.
If possible please try out and confirm whether it works or not.
OK I tried patching my memory manager to make sure my players don't get killed. It worked, but now chrome gets really laggy when I am using it while playing music. It might be the system causing lots of memory leaks when accessing external SD. I noticed that ES remote manager also gets killed if on background when copying large files to external SD.
Chrome is ofc smooth with material design and stuff, but man it sure uses a heck loads of memory. I'm using Dolphin as default now

This would make a lot of sense since there is a massive difference in the frequency of music player crashes when playing off internal vs external.
Anything we can do about it?

[Q] music muting when using google music player

Hi people, I have a question which I am sure may stump you, looked thru some other threads but unable to find anything except the thread on google music id tags. Anyway the problem: Google music does not play any more since I flashed Liquid Smooth Rom v3.2 LS-KK-v3.2-2014-10-29. and GAPPS The music starts for a split second then mutes, then comes on again around 30 secs later.When viewing the volume icons in settings the music,video, games & other media is locked to mute with no way to raise it. Also when I try to unlock the phone, it mutes again when playing. The internet did not offer much help and what it did offer I have tried with turning off voice activation for google now. It plays thru Apollo now but did not this afternoon. Went into v4a settings and enabled what I think should be able to get it working even uninstalling the driver and rebooting also downloading the zip file (android forums told me about) and tried to install but super SU told me that "there was another version running with a different signature". I am running nova launcher but went back to liquid launcher to see if any different, still same problem. Drop a line if you may know how to fix it. I am thinking it is something simple but buggered if I know what it may be. I will start to move my music from google cloud back onto my SD card then move it to Apollo player.

Can someone make if padTV app do not start automatically ? Also it does not detect TV dongle after system has started I have replug dongle and only after repluging it works.
My mini still does not see .510, only .402 as the latest version, as of 12:06pm EST on 8/10
Hi, after latest update, the no image on TV. I have a Phillips 32" 720p TV which was perfectly working until latest update.
Now it says that the display settings are not compatible. I tried 720 50hz & 60hz.
Any ideaÉ

@nakTT - Thanks for the comment! 52.0.604 is the latest ROM. This is a post we made in August 8, 2016.
Since last update of Remix OS the Amazon Video crashes.
I can start the app and I can select a movie. But when try streaming the movie the orange circle runs a moment and the the app crashes !!!
Since the latest update (Remix OS 2.0.604), whenever I minimize a full-screen-running app, the desktop would go blank as in black screen with nothing else on the screen but black blank screen.

Same thing happened to mine, and there is no support for this device at all. They tell you to open a support ticket on their website, but the support link is broken.
