Hi,
When you press the square button, you have a vignette of all apps previously open.
How do you close all of them with one click?
Teclast X98 PLUS II. Android 5.1.1 only.
Thanks

In android when you press the back button you "close" an application. Why doesn't it work like this for the standard browser? When I press the back button all the way until it brings me to the home screen the browser is apparently (according to Samsung taskmanager) still running and consuming cpu + battery (every now and then).
I found that strange as well. However when you open a bookmark directly and press the back button that exits the browser fine.

Yes I noticed that as well. Why would the behaviour be different?
Anybody else? Or should I post this question in a generic Android forum?

Bump. Anybody?
I'm currently running VEGAn 5.1.1 (love it) and for tablets, even more than phone there needs to be an easy way to switch applications. Holding down the home button will only give you a list of recently run apps, not apps that are currently running.
Currently I'm using / liking MultiTasking Pro:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/multitasking-pro/com.tkdtnek23.app.multitaskingpro
Here's the free/lite version:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/multitasking-lite/com.tkdtnek23.app.multitaskinglite
I have it bound to the single home tap action. And have it set to show/start on the Running tab. If I double tap Home (either on VEGAn toolbar or GTablet soft button) it goes to my designated launcher (launcher pro). Ideally I'd like a dedicated button for it on the title bar, ala HoneyComb's status bar, but this works good enough.
I've used other task switchers on my phone that have image previews, like:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/visual-task-switcher-free/com.esdmobile.taskswitcher (haven't tested this one on GTablet yet)
but they tended to be glitchy and sometimes laggy, so I'm ok living without image previews .
Anybody else want to share what task switchers they may be using and what you like/dislike about them?
Check out smart taskbar
My task switcher of choice is Dock4droid. It's a slick, fancy way to quickly get to your recent apps. But you can also specify apps to stay in the launcher dispite not being recently used.
I've got it set to pop out when I swipe with my thumb on the right edge of the screen, It's sooooo slick!

I am using Perfect Task Switcher , it allows me to switch and close tasks. Have it setup to popup on long press of search button
I just tried all of these, and ended up uninstalling all of them. I dislike how most remove the ability to click home button and see a preview of your different home screens (even if you don't set single click home button as the task switcher button).
Smart Task Bar seemed good, but long hold search button doesnt seem to work with button savior, and I have my soft keys turned off
tried all, like Smart task the best...
We using Galaxy Mini need to press a bit hard to go back to previous page. ROM like cyanogen 5.7 having on screen back button to minimize direct contract with physical button. Is there is any apps for this purpose? Pressing back using on screen icon instead.

What is the difference between Android back button and WP8 back button?
I need to know this because I want to buy WP8.
Please explain the difference between the functionality, how they function?
Thank you.
The back button in WP8 behaves actually very cool and has 3 functions. First off it obviously takes you one step back Second, and what I find really cool, is that let's say you open an app and use it, then go back to your home screen with the windows button; now if you press back it takes you directly back to this app and exactly where you were in it. The third function is the multitasking. If you longpress the back button it opens the multitasking panel. There is something interesting to note regarding multitasking - by using the longpress function of the back button you get true multitasking - apps are resumed. But if you open an app and use it, then go back to home screen and start app from there or from your application list to the right, the app will launch again, not resume. That is basically it. If you have other questions, pls. say so - I got a lumia 820 right now and playing around with it, soon we will hopefully get some 920s here! :highfive:
"Recent" button not working with apps on my new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 Tablet
Hey guys,
My first post here.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7" Tablet. The problem I'm having has to do with the "recent" button. (That's the button to the left of the Home button). When I launch apps, such as Wolfram Alpha, and press the Recent button, the tablet goes into double window mode. It's supposed to bring up a sub menu in the app. It does this with all other apps as well. I've contacted Samsung tech support and all of the agents told me that I had to reset the tablet to factory default settings. I'm reluctant to do that...
Has anyone encountered this problem? If so, please tell me how you resolved it.
Cheers,
grecinos
Maybe you should do a shorter push? Long press should do this double window thing.

The button is not designed to give menu items, as with some versions of android previously. This button only controls multi window with a long press, or quick press gives running apps to select from the carousel. Any menu buttons in lollipop will be via on screen menu icons such as material design horizontal lines.
My Note 5 gives recent on short push and "double window" on long press.
Android 5.1.1
Or am I wrong? I thought he needed recents.
"or quick press gives running apps to select from the carousel"
Is dat not equal to recent?

Try long-press BACK button (right from the home button) - the long press of the back button should open the menu, just like tapping on the 3 dots.
I think long press function is there for older apps without the 3-dots in the UI - on other devices long press of recent (left) button does this, Sammy may changed the assignment...
