GUIDE: Root Huawei P10 PLUS OREO 8.0.0 EMUI 8.0.0 WORKS PERFECTLY!

( this guide works perfect , i recommend that someone can make a better full guide , mine is working but i did it very fast, just to let people know, that you can root Huawei P10 Plus with OREO easily and fast without needing this rebranding thing.. )
1. First unlock your bootloader following Huawei unlock method. you can doing it here in french: https://hwid5.vmall.com/CAS/portal/userRegister/regbyemail.html
English here:
https://hwid5.vmall.com/CAS/portal/...huawei.com/en/source/plugin/hwlogin/login.php
IMPORTANT ***** Official Huawei web page for Unlock Bootloader is DOWN for a month for maintenance, someone confirmed this on xda forum, you can try to contact Huawei for a bootloader unlock request here:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeGwoQ44zqykuTfjCQrVP07JOHBYnBcAxAbz9SAVxPTFqMh9g/viewform
BUT you need to do this:
Go to Settings > Developer Options and enable ‘OEM Unlocking’.
you need to do other small things if it doesnt work, i made this guide fast , i know newbies will have a few difficulties, but this guide to root p10 plus is possible to do for everyone, someone need to do a better guide than mine im in a hurry these times, sorry)
2. Follow this little guide. and use FHMate10Tool joined in the guide
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-plus/how-to/guide-how-to-root-p10-p10-oreo-firmware-t3720443
After 2 reboots your phone will be rooted. no need to do this rebranding thing ...
NOTE: WORKS WITH ROGERS CANADA HUAWEI P10 PLUS. Should works with any P10 PLus phone. my version is : VKY0L09 8.0.0.310(C654) OREO android os 8.0.0. EMUI 8.0.0
DONT WORRY i know the app is for Huawei Mate 10, but it will work for P10 Plus. it was done by Funky huawei, i know these guys, i paid for their service in the past, i unbricked a phone with them, their apps works flawessly, i suppose the joined app by funky has been uploaded by the guy in the guide, dont worry use it on your p10 plus. its free

Thats true, but for new devices only. If your device is prior to may 2018, you still have 2 months time to get the code, before the service becomes unavailable. The code is available at this link:

Hi, will this work on P10? (VTR-L29C636)

Hi! im the author of this fast guide. I want to let you know that even if Huawei dont give unlock bootloader code anymore, this web site can do it for you. i used their services for 4$ and they find my bootloader unlock code, and i were on the LAST android 8.0 build version.
for 4$ the will downgraded your phone and find your bootloader code. its really easy. you just have to install hisuite, teamviewer and flexihub,
they just found my Huawei P10 Plus unlock bootloader code

I didnt find any free service.
All the links to the Huawei services are down. And they dont give the unlock code anymore..
But on the bright side, it is just a couple of dollars so well worth the money. Searching for a hour costs you more

This is not true if you are on the latest firmware.
I was refunded and told:
Huawei has updated security and its impossible to read bootloader unlock code on new firmwares.
Only 30 euro service can unlock latest firmware bootloader.
Any other way of rooting and putting on a basic ROM now ?

To all Huawei P20 Pro owners (Mexico/Canada, CLT-L04)

Hello everyone,
This thread is for the owners of a Huawei P20 Pro (CLT-L04) which Huawei sells in México and Canada. As a owner of this device, I find very difficult to find a carrier free firmware and FunkyHuawei does not support this version of the model.
I was trying to rebrand but I didn't do it because there isn't a lot of information for this version.
So, in an effort to concentrate all the information about that specific model I have created this thread.
Remember that you have less than 60 days to ask for a code.
Huawei will shut down support about unlocking bootloader codes.
If you successfully rebrand you CLT-04, please reply with a source or your experience about it
Greetings, Mr.P
It's not supported per se as no there are no updates directly from Funkyhuawei, but if you rebrand it to a supported model it should be fine, I did it with a Mate 10 and I'm just waiting to get a dual sim tray to rebrand it
I asked FunkyHuawei and was told there was certain risk of bricking my phone so I didnt try as they said it would be permanent... If someone tries and get it working I'd definitely do it. As a Mexican I know Telcel will take ages to update this device, we're still on 102 (c69) firmware ¬¬
Im from Vancouver, bought my P20 Pro from Hong Kong, as the twilight wasnt being sold here yet. Im guessing its on the HK firmware CLT-L29
Canadian owner here, will be waiting to see how it goes if any CLT-L04's get rebranded.

Sorry for the noob question. Rebranding meaning CLT-04 to CLT29 for example? If so, I was going to try CLT-29 on the weekend form this site https://www.getdroidtips.com/huawei...t_of_Huawei_P20_Pro_Stock_Firmware_collection
Some people is rebranding CLT-09 to CLT-29 and viceversa. the question is... Will it work with CLT-04??
Here is the guide for rebranding. Still looking for info before try this...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-pro/how-to/guide-how-to-root-debrand-remove-retail-t3788326
yeah same here. if anyone had success would greatly appreciate the steps.
Yes the steps of the tutorial for rebranding clt-09 to clt-29 works with this model
I'm from Mexico and have this model and the first day I unlock the bootloader before too late and then l follow that tutorial for rebranding and delete the crap apps from telcel.
A very useful tip from my to you, first make a backup using the unofficial twrp. NOT THE OFFICIAL. Because the oficial won't work well with this model and don't allow you to make the backup until you format data

Did you rebrand for a Dual-sim?
I know you have a single-sim because I have the same P20 Pro from Telcel.
Did the bootloader code change?
I want to change to a dual-sim before the time for unlock the bootloader expires.

So bye bye your 2 years warranty from Huawei Mexico, correct? Thats the only thing holding me from unlocking my Telcel P20 pro. I already have the code as i didnt want to lose the opportunity but just dont want to lose my warranty.
Yeah! I prefer lose warranty.
There have too much crap trash apps and outdated firmware so you can't have the full potential of this beast phone.
And more because some guy already ported Huawei camera with all the functions to project treble and more specified to lineage OS

I don't have the dual sim tray to try it, in that tread people say you need to put the two Sims to get dual sim functionality if not you see only one sim option on the settings menu
Just rebranded mine, L29 C432 still on .120 and no update available OTA. Did you receive any update?
CLT-L04 bought in Mexico here, just rebranded to CLT-L29 following the steps posted here. No issues so far besides Google Photos not downloading my pictures. Had to uninstall the app through adb commands and reinstalling again.
BTW, I'm not receiving the last update either. Still looking for a way to install manually.

Use the phone for 1 month, swim with it, test it as there is no tomorrow. I would prefer lose the warranty, and I am more sure because they give you 2 years of warranty. Huawei know they are selling high quality products.
Besides, the warranty in this case with the carrier, not Huawei directly.

Did you try to relock? Maybe you were able to use OTA again

How to convert Huawei P10 VTR-L09 to Dual-SIM?

Can anyone tell me how to convert my HUAWEI P10 VTR-L09 to a dual sim?
I need detailed instructions please.
You need HWOTA to rebrand your phone: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/huawei-p10-debrand-rebrand-update-guide-t3691013
Note that an unlocked bootloader is required. Since Huawei doesn't issue the codes anymore this may cost you a few euros (e.g. DCUnlocker).

I am not sure. Huawei changed the bootloader a few months ago, which makes it impossible to roll back to older versions. I sold my P10, so I do not follow its developments anymore. So please check in the thread.

If you search on Bootloader unlock on XDA you should find a lot of discussions, and that Huawei no longer provides you must buy from eg DC Unlocker (search also for that on XDA), 4 Eur credit
There are other services but more expensive
But if you are on c900 you maybe already did rebranding in the past (or somebody sold you a rebranded phone with a 'wrong' cust) - Bootloader code is one and the same for patticular phone, if you have it from the past you can reuse it
See

Official LineageOS support

will there be official LineageOS support?
A little bit early to tell i think but since Huawei stopped the bootloader unlock programm in April 2018 it will be at least more difficult and in general i think not as much development as on other phones. Also Kirin phones are harder to mod i think
That stinks why do the lock the bootloader?
There has been very little ROM development for Huawei flagship phones such as P20 Pro / Mate 20 Pro. Doesn't help with locked bootloaders and unlocking services have unstable ability to offer codes, sometimes they can offer codes at other times they can not. Currently FunkyHuawei offering unlocking codes for "$1150 HKD ($146 USD) per code" though some cheaper sites can be found.

IF you still manage to get a device with unlocked bootloader, there's no way to root it or install a working TWRP, because there's ZERO development on Huawei P30 Pro and onward uawei devices...
That's because Huawei stopped giving users unlock bootloader codes and without them we can't have acces to get root, create custom rom's, TWRP and so on....
