I recently updated my huawei p9 to android nougat using the dload method.
The update Installed without any problems, however my phone now doesn't have the stock theme and the theme app itself isn't working.
I can download and apply themes but nothing changes !
I won't to downgrade back to android 6 but my phone can't be recognised by any PC !
The PC will recognise the phone in recovery mode but adb can't detect my device !
Any help would be appreciated!

Android Nougat is running on EMUI 5 for our device not 4.1 so of course the themes would not be working as they aren't designed to.
Also you do not need to use ADB or recovery mode to downgrade your phone, you just need a full zip of android 6 that is meant for your phone
Speaking of which what is your phone? L09, L19 or any other variant and secondly is what is the country code. E.g. C432 (Europe), C02 (UK Vodafone) and so on

you don't get any theme to work yet as the official emui 5 is not even out so devs/people aren't making themes. And to restore your phone back to android 6.
1. create a folder on your sd card that says "dload"
2. download and extract this file (http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1079/g104/v61648/f1/full/update.zip) on your phone
3. place "update.APP" into the dload folder
4. turn off the device
5. hold down both volume keys and power button until your phone shows the verifying update screen
6. wait for your phone to reboot and set it up

Already tried this method, update gets to 51 % then fails. Any other methods of downgrading ??
I apologize for writing here but I do not want to open new topic. My problem:
I have installed Beep n'Go from Google Play Store (to store my discount cards) and I can't use it because the barcode scanners can't see the barcode. Please give me advice?

No, it hasn't been.
OK. I had solved my problem. I went thru all the applications that had problems and specified a certain ringtone (not the default option) and now everything is working.

just a question: motion control (in settings) is an empty page or has all the voice for control?
the first solution i can give to you is to try an hard reset of the phone...otherwise if hard reset doesn't work maybe your phone is a branded version so you need to first debrand (in italy this problem was related to people who flashed B609 over a brand fw)
if you have root maybe this will help http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p7/general/ascend-p7-b602-emui-3-0-international-t2972854

first replace 609 UPDATE in dload in SD card, then you must use local update option. that's all.

1) We establish hw_EU.zip through TWRP (Using TWRP installed instead "eRecovery" (recovery2)), after installation click reload.
2) The device will not be able to load the system , reboot and launch itself stock recovery, will be reset to factory default settings , you press SHUTDOWN button.
3) Turn on phone. Long start and optimization. Tapping the build number in Settings -> About 7 times, then going back and selecting the option from the Development menu.
Enable "OEM unlock" in the Development menu. So we will have flashing opportunity phone through fastboot if we receive a brick!
4) We throw on the card dload folder with UPDATE.APP firmware file on the region -EU (NEM-L51C432Bxxx), insert the card into the phone turned off , click the three buttons , waiting for the start of the upgrade process and all !!!)))
:good::good:
PS: In my hw_EU.zip archive three files are used:
custom.bin - the file in which contains one record in which belonging to the region - Vendor Country Info is specified
oeminfo - the binary file, contains information on a phone model and on the version of a firmware
build.prop - the system file from a specific firmware
All these three files from the European firmware of NEM-L51
Don't use this archive for change of a location in other phone models of Honor!!!
This archive - it isn't simple to replace a method a location
This archive - preparation of phone for the subsequent updating by a firmware from the European NEM-L51 model
You need to debrand your phone.

ok, test it and report back
in the last few weeks, my Huawei p9 had many problems cuz of the last update!
my battery drain was increased, also the mobile shutting down when I used the camera even if battery more than 30%.
i thought all of those problems cuz of update not the battery, when I searched many times I found many guys written the same problems!
i contacted Huawei customer services, they told me that Huawei removed all software from their sites cuz of wrong use from some customers
here are how to Rollback your device without any problems.
1) First, download Android Nougat Rollback Package for Huawei P9 from here
middle east http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=91646&version=357962&siteCode=kwen
europe http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=91727&version=358124&siteCode=nl
2) Now create a folder dload in the root of your SD card and place the update.app file in that folder.
3)Now turn off your device.
4) Now press “Volume Up + Volume Down and Power Button” together. The update process will start automatically.
5) Now wait for some time to complete the process. Your firmware version should now be on “B300”.
6) Now download the full Marshmallow firmware from here
middle east http://huawei-firmware.com/rom/huawei-p9/eva-l19/324
or you can choose your eligible software from here
http://huawei-firmware.com/phone-list/huawei-p9
7) Now move the update.app file in SD card folder (Replace the rollback update.app file).
8) Now again press “Volume Up + Volume Down and Power Button” together to Downgrade Huawei P9 from Android Nougat to Android Marshmallow
9) Done.
This is the complete guide to Downgrade Huawei P9 from Android Nougat to Marshmallow. If you have any questions comment below.
This will be helpful. I have some question.
1. In number 2 do you mean to unzip the files and put the dload folder to sd card and leave update.app untouched?
2. And can you elaborate number 7 please? Is it the same update.app in number 2 and do I need to replace it to the downgrade firmware?
3. And is it okay to downgrade when my phone is currently network locked? Will it affect my phone or should i have it unlocked first? Btw my bootloader is still locked and I have no root.
I love you man! I nearly gave up! Thank you SO MUCH!
PS- Can we update the phone after rolling back? Or Will the OTA updates brick my phone?
It works indeed
Many thanks. It works perfect. Il had to use Hisuite to move the file in dload.
Now I get a notification asking me to update to emui 5. Ik don't want to do so of course but I can't stop the notification. Has somebody an idea ?
Don't understand guy.. am on oreo and never had any problems ..
Hello,
If I do the downgrade, will I lose my pics on my phone ?
Thanks for you feedback.
Reset Netwrok Settings
I was having the same issue ( sudden power-off when using camera or apps that use location), as well as the battery draining very fast.
I followed the steps suggested by Huawei to reset the network and (so far) it apperas to have resolved the issue. TBH its only been two days, but so far its looking good and did not require me to rollback or perform any other intervention. I'm too new to the forum to post a hotlink so you'll have to cut and paste it.

I managed to downgrade from 9.1.0.311 to 9.0.0.286 through HiSuite, but I want to downgrade even further, to EMUI 8.1(preferably 8.1.0.152?) as both EMUI 9 and 9.1 have very poor battery life on performance on my phone. I have the bootloader locked and my model is CLT-L09 C432. Before I updated to EMUI 9.1, I was on 9.0.0.270 and the option "Switch to other version" (EMUI 8.1) was available on HiSuite. Now it isn't on 286.
So, is there any way to downgrade?

I'm just in the process of doing the same.
Use DLOAD method to get back to 9.0.0.195, then hisuite will give you the option to roll back to 8. (You'll need a usb-c otg cable) - This wipes the phone, be warned.
Download 9.0.0.195 here:
https://androidhost.ru/T8h
Basic Instructions:
Unzip the package. delete the CLT-LXX that you don't need. (so remove CLT-29 in your case)
copy the files to the SD card. Place the inside a folder called dload. (so you'll have "update_sd.zip" in the dload folder, another folder under dload called "CLT-L09_hw_eu" in which you'll have another zip called "update_sd_CLT-L09_hw_eu.zip"
open phone dialer and dial *#*#2846579#*#* go to Software Update and then select memory card upgrade. (alternatively with the device off press vol UP + DOWN + POWER and hold)
cross fingers and wait while is does it's thing.
Phone should now boot on 9.0.0.195, and hisuite /should/ give you the option to go back to 8.xx.
...You may be able to go back to 8 directly through dload method, but I've done it in two steps to be safe.
Someone else shared these images to help explain better. (Sorry whoever you are, I don't recall where I got this link from!)

That's androidhost.ru I'm afraid - it's painfully slow at the best of times Took me about 2 hours to download it from there earlier.
And it did finnaly work, fortunately. Now I am on good old EMUI 8.1 . Now I still have a question, would it be able to disable the system updates app? As there's always the red dot on the settings icon because it keeps telling me I have a EMUI 9.0.0.163 update. And I don't want to update. I turned off auto wifi updates download but I'm afraid to not force update it after some time.

For OTA, you must have a proper SIM card and WiFi connection - check in Settings/Software update do you receive OTA
Also, install latest HiSuite to PC, connect to the phone and find in HiSuite (at the bottom) an option to update.
Not sure, but also better have a valid SIM card in the phone
There are other options but first try these simplest and less intrusive ones
Ofc, supposing that phone is not rooted or TWRP installed (ie - must be the stock firmware)
Thanks...

Yes. phone is not rooted. I have tried both above ways & not getting update. So i thought to use other way ( dload) & try.
Please let me know the correct update package so i can download & push via SD card.
Is it risky to use that method...??
Also please tell me if upgrade would caused to any other issue such as battery draining issue.. If so how can i downgrade the version.?

You can DLOAD to L19 c185 b385 (initial Nougat), you must take FullOTA-MF-PV (PV is important) - as on the screenshot, from:
https://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=EVA-L19c185
You can also install FirmwareFinder app (from Playstore or XDA) to download from the app
Download the two files, update.zip and update_data_full_hw_meafnaf.zip, do not unzip, put into DLOAD folder on your SD card.
Phone better to be charged, switch off, disconnect USB, press and keep pressing both Vol+ and Vol-, then boot - it should start DLOAD
Boot and login to system, and check if you can receive further OTA updates

If you don't receive further OTA update, you can force DLOAD up to the latestEVA-L19c185b403
Download:
https://androidhost.ru/bN4
Unzip/untar until you extract a dload folder (do not extract further) and ReleaseDoc folder.
In the latter find Software Upgrade Guide and follow it - basically, you copy dload folder to your SD card and repeat the DLOAD method

Just downloaded update.zip (1.33 GB) and update_data_full_hw_meafnaf.zip (865.19 MB) with no problem - EVA-L19c185b385 FullOTA-MF-PV (80560)
Maybe download failed to you because of not-reliable WiFi connection.
Try using ADM browser - it downloads a big file in parallel chunks and it can resume download upon connection breaks

Hi All,
Please anyone advise me how to upgrade my Huawei P9 EVA L19. I'm from Sri Lanka.
My device version is C185B162 ( EMUI 4.1 ) which needs to upgrade Nougat ( Android 7).
If not possible, please let me know the best stable edition for this phone.
Many Thanks in advance.

You are not downloading correctly
Select package as on the first screenshot.
Click on Update files - FILELIST.
In the popup you will have links to download zip files, this is what you have to downliad, not xml.
Copy one by one link to ADM Browse (all from mobile phone) and download.
Don't know how to help you otherwise

You have to download and use for DLOAD both update.zip and update_data_full_hw_meafnaf.zip (both files must be put as is into the DLOAD folder)
Some packages may even have three update***.zip files for DLOAD
Generally, judge by names, if package name shows both L09 and L19 and if you see in the filelist two files with the same names except that one contains L09 in its name, the other L19 in its name, then (for your L19) forget that with L19 in the name.
This package, as the name clearly says is for EVA-L19c185 not for some MHA, L19, c432 or else
In the OP post it was asked for EVA-L19c185
You came later, if you have different phone you have to go to the top of the page and instead of EVA-L19c185 enter EVA-L09c432 or exactly what is your model and cust (based on Settings/About)
Then press Find my model.
Only FullOTA-MF-PV packages are for DLOAD

By "flashing" do you mean DLOAD or what?
With DLOAD you cannot do rebranding by going from eg c185 to c432 or so - for that Bootloader must be unlocked and other methods used
What is exactly the full EMUI name and number, best please attach screenshot from Settings/About.
And what do you want to install
If you just want to update to the latest for your model and cust, did first try OTA (both SiM and WiFi must be on), and did you try updating by HiSuite (in the app on the PC find in the bottom Install or Update, not sure how is it named)

With c900 there are no OTAs (maybe) and no FullOTA-MF-PV firmwares for DLOAD
Going to different cXXX means rebranding and requires the unlocked Bootloader
I don't see firmwares for EVA-L09c555, only for c55.
But from the other post you tried to download L09GBRc555 - frankly, I don't know what's that (3UK H3G?)
Probably rebranding to c432 would be the best choice (with unlocked Bootloader but not with simple DLOAD - it would brick the phone)
