I am still having issues where push notifications are not popping up until I open the app. I.e. whatsapp, kaokaotalk, allo messenger
I've tried using PNF, factory reset. Everything.
I've frozen phone manager and power genie but still it's not working.
Has anyone found a solution? Or should I downgrade to another version other than B170?
This topic has been brought up before but it still seems like there in no solution.
Has anyone found a proper fix?

I have p9 lite and had the same problem, I fixed it by protecting the app in the phone manager app and connecting to VPN (Opera max) any other can work too. Thats how it works for me. Can you try to connect with VPN app on mobile data and test it?

that happens to me too. it was working fine through b145, b177 and then even the upgrade to B321 marshmallow. but since i rolled back to lollipop and now b177, it has happened to me too. i wiped the system cache, uninstalled and reinstalled facebook, wiped its cache and nothing works . it would be interesting to see if anyone has this problem or even knows a solution.
I have the same issue on 145 waip all data and internal memory and no recovery apps and works fine
Hi all.
I am sure this question has been asked again and again.
But I am having troubles with push notifications working for some apps
I.e. Pushbullet, kaokaotalk
They don't work unless i open the app.
WhatsApp and Facebook seem to be working fine.
Anyone have an absolute fix?

Even gmail and Google inbox don't work.
They have been setup as protected apps etc already

Try adding them to the memory whitelist.
Phone manager>system optimization (paintbrush)>settings (gear top right)>memory cleanup whitelist
My understanding is apps in this list will not clear the memory when you "kill" the app. I could be wrong. Please respond to this post if this fixes your problem or not.
Two important settings, under Battery (protected) and under "Apps" (ignore optimization). Also try to put CPU to performance

Solve -> Problem with Pushover notification on lockscreen
my notification did not show on notification and lock screen.
1. Phone manager>system optimization (paintbrush)>settings (gear top right)>memory cleanup whitelist
2. Setting>advanced settings>Battery manager>Power plan> Smart or Performance>
3. Setting>advanced settings>Battery manager>Protected apps> Turn on for Whatsapp and Pushover
4. Clean Master < I think this is the culprit causing problem > Ensure Tools>Notification Cleaner is disable. My was enabled. and it cause notification not to show on the Lock Screen.

I have a note 8, but emui 4.1 is pretty standard across the line. Having the exact same issue. Have tried the PNF, whitelisted google play and whatsapp in the memory whitelist, protected apps, ignore battery optimizations etc.
I can repeat the error. So it seems that it ignores the whitelist like you suspected.
Steps. Clear all apps.
Open quicksync manually sync accounts that i want to show up.
Notifications appear.
Go to app task manager view with the square button, kill app.
Send message. No dice.
Have even tried using the PNF heartbeat fix, but to no effect.
Now i have one odd issue. When i received the device, google play services was already installed, but some how it was in the system folder despite the phone being locked. Not sure if that is an issue, since if anything i would suspect that would be helpful instead of harmful, but i have no way of removing it to test since bootloader is locked , and the play services is persistent over a factory reset.
Anyways, any other solutions i have not thought of would be helpful, huawei makes such nice devices, but if you get stuck on a chinese rom, it can be a nightmare for some.. went through the same headache with mate 7 but managed to solve its notifications issues.
Go to Settings-->Accounts-->Tap on the Menu button at the bottom-->Check[?] Auto-sync data

Yes I have tried that. For now I think i will just add my chat clients and aquamail to the locked status on the task manager and keep them open... I have tried all iterations of power saving, etc.. so I think it may just be the build unfortuneately. Hopefully EMUI 5.0 will be a bit less invasive, as they said they are going back to a more stock android vibe to compete in international markets.
Hello, I am in the exact same situation. Did you get some luck?
I updated mine to emui5, but nothing changed.
Do you have a AL10 chinese version? I am thinking that this might be the point.
Thank you.
I've previously used the stock App Lock feature under the Phone Manager function on my P9 which has worked flawlessly up until the recent upgrade to Nougat.
Simply put, the Facebook Messenger app is no longer showing up in the list of apps that I can assign a fingerprint lock to.
I've tried wiping the cache and reinstalling the Messenger app but it just won't play ball.
Is this a problem others are experiencing or one that I should escalate to Huawei as a bug?
Any suggestions or feedback much appreciated. Thanks!
i have problem to
I don't use internal app lock, just because it doesn't show messenger. I use third part app lock.
did you find the solution to it?
same issue here
Also here any solution ?I dont want use any other apps
Please escalate this to Huawei as a bug

Same issue here..
Any solution?
I have no idea where to ask this, so I'm just gonna throw it here.
I have a very strange issue with the xda app that started happening a couple of days ago. Whenever I'm connected to my home wifi, the xda app logs me out, and I can't login because it gives me the "wrong username/password" error, and also the news feed doesn't seem to load. As soon as I switch to mobile data it allows me to login (with the same saved user/pass combo), and everything works perfectly fine.
I have absolutely no other issues with any other app while on my wifi, and also the xda forum is accessible via browser, just the app that gives me this issue. Any thoughts on this?

Yes, I have tried that earlier, however this morning the regular app suddenly works fine, so we'll see if it stays like that. Could it be that a certain ip range got banned or something like that?
I was using Fb lite and all of a sudden appeared a pop up that says it's opening the browser alot and I toggled it off by mistake and ever since then I can no longer open any webpages from the app for some reason . The pop up that appeared showed all applications that could open the Samsung internet browser with an ON/OFF toggle next to every app . Does anybody have any idea how I can access it again to re-enable Fb lite ?

Nope. I reset all app preferences, cleared cache and date and even uninstalled and installed the app again and still no luck and I can't seem to find that option again .

Issue solved ! Turns out the problem was not the Fb app itself but rather the Samsung Browser . Had to install it again . The option is hidden way inside the settings in advanced options
