Kali Linux Nethunter v1.0 [Kali v2.0 / Backtrack 5] [osprey]

The Kali NetHunter is an Android ROM overlay that includes a robust Mobile Penetration Testing Platform. The overlay includes a custom kernel, a Kali Linux chroot, and an accompanying Android application, which allows for easier interaction with various security tools and attacks. Beyond the penetration testing tools arsenal within Kali Linux, NetHunter also supports several additional classes, such as HID Keyboard Attacks, BadUSB attacks, Evil AP MANA attacks, and much more. Although Kali Nethunter should be safe to use, I am not responsible for whatever happens to your device, router, or whatever networking infrastructure because of YOU misusing the available facilities of Kali.
Remember that while Kali can be absolutely safe, if you handle root access improperly, no one will help you.
Make sure you read all of the info here and have some basic knowledge about networking, kernels and Linux/Unix.
Even if you're able to find a vulnerability on a different host (often called victim) , don't misuse the advantage you have.
Report the issue to the device's owner and the OEM. Do not complain if the attacks aren't working. Security has been ramping up ever since the wikileaks incident and the Edward Snowden thing.

INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT NOTE: Kali NetHunter is NOT an Android ROM, but it is an overlay ( you have to flash it above android).
The builds currently provided are to be used on Nougat based custom ROMs ONLY. (which use the LineageOS kernel)
Installing it on a ROM which uses the LineageOS 14.1 kernel. (examples include all of our N custom ROMs like Lineage, AEX, AICP, AOKP, DU ) :
1. Make sure you are running the latest available build of the ROM you have installed.
2. Reboot to TWRP.
3. Make sure you backup Boot, System and Data partitions, just incase you want to remove Kali, you can restore it.
3. Wipe Cache and ART Cache (Formerly known as Dalvik Cache). Do NOT wipe your data partition.
4. Install the zip file.
5. Reboot to System.
POST INSTALLATION:
1. Open the NetHunter App and start the Kali Chroot Manager.
2. You might want to download the real packages which might be around 400-500 MB in size.
3. Set up Hacker Keyboard.
4. Configure Kali Services, such as SSH.
5. Set up custom commands.
6. Initialize the Exploit Database.

thanks for bringing nethunter for osprey but it has many bugs . Almost all the apps (nethunter app) force close when i open them..

Yup, I can confirm this, most apps force closes.

There is absolutely no problem here. I'm running Lineage OS 14.1 with Open GApps and this Kali Linux package. Installed chroot perfectly, I'm even running VNC server. The only thing that doesn't work is hacking Wi-Fi networks with a USB adapter but that's because the Kali Kernel still hasn't been ported yet. My device is Osprey XT1541 (2GB RAM and 16 GB of storage). I even posted some screenshots there:
I just have to say, if you reboot your phone and Nethunter Terminal keeps crashing, don't worry. Just wait 2-5 minutes and everything is going to be OK. If it still doesn't work, try opening Terminal Emulator and type in "bootkali". If that doesn't work too, try installing BusyBox from the Play Store.
There are the ROMs on which I confirm that Kali works with default kernel:

Will it work on Mokee rom ?

I almost did everything like installing busy box in the xbin directory and trying to bootkali from the local terminal
The thing is even the local terminal keeps crashing
The ROM I'm using is cm14.1

Check your network adapter. TP link tn w722n v2 doesn't support monitoring mode. Only v1.

Is bluetooth interface can up normally? Did you try with any device?

Bluetooth work in oneui or aosp normally but if you want use the tools of kali you need external adapters

Finally i test it! Wifi with packet injection and monitor mode on external adapters(rt2800) work on Noble Rom and on AOSP!

i removed magisk then i flashed G960-965nethunter.zip file it worked, then i flashed magisk again it continued to bootloop

hid cant work at this time. try over than 300 kernels and nothing. you can activate hid 0-1 with follow command on su terminal:
mknod --mode=666 /dev/hidg0 c 240 0 && mknod --mode=666 /dev/hidg1 c 240 1 && dmesg | grep hidg
more info and fixes about nethunter on nh galaxy s9/s9+/n9 here

Even if you don't have a NetHunter kernel, you can still activate HID with that command, but HID still doesn't work.

I know, I have kernel with hid config set YES and not working too. Its exynos problem. Try fixed with official nh team but failed. General HID works by default on 4.x kernel without patch.

An essential tool for anybody that loves to modify their Android device is a good custom recovery. TWRP has been around since the invention of the wheel back in 1996 and has been providing modders with all kinds of great tools.
Okay so..I managed to compile TWRP 3.6.1-9.0 finally for this device. I started with stock recovery kernel which obviously didn't work due to the "unsupport". So after a month, I tried @djeman's TWRP 3.2 OREO kernel which worked, maybe it had a feature which booted it up. But Android Oreo will never work on our device. Thanks to @NMTdontknow who tested my TWRP ​

If you have SM-J320FN/F/G/M, flash the J3XLTE twrp image!

Installation instructions

Turn off your phone
Restart it in download mode by keeping volume down + home + power
Confirm the entry in the download mode with volume up
Plug your phone into your PC and run Odin (you should see the COM port in blue)
Click on AP and select the .tar recovery file
Click on options (Disable checkbox Auto Reboot) and leave only "F. Reset Time"
Click Start
(Your device will not restart automatically this is voluntary because otherwise the original rom will erase TWRP.)
To restart it keep down volume down + home + power as soon as it goes off restart it on recovery by keeping it up volume up + home + power
When you boot for the first time on recovery, it will prompt you to change the language and avoid deleting the recovery.
Note: For this device it is necessary to have enabled OEM Unlock in:
Settings -> Developer Options -> OEM unlocking
Or you may encounter "BLOCKED BY FRP LOCK" on boot.

It's not really oreo that don't works on the j3 but I never found a compatible gpu driver ...
Android have modified deeply the gpu driver interface on oreo and the driver is not open source.
So I abandonned but all the boot sequence was good only this driver was missing.

Hey djeman, I didn't except that you are going to comment here lol!
You're welcome for the recovery! I might try to bringup other recoveries like PBRP(Pitch Black Recovery Project) and OFRP(OrangeFox Recovery Project)

I can confirm that it works. The touch is simulating a mouse however, I think. The click action is weird. But usable.
Also, both recovery images work just fine on my device, I actually do not know which of the 2 variants my phone is. I think they are pretty much the same so you can just offer one recovery for both. If the device has the nfc chip soldered on or not should not matter for the recovery.

Yip, this is an issue because this device tree "has been ported" from j3lte (Snapdragon variant of the J3 2016) . I guess that's why the click action is weird

Already did figure out why it is lagging. Making test builds to make sure the click isn't weird anymore

Fantastic! I will enjoy it in 10 years then when some retro computing geek finally creates a new rom for it.

because if you port from Lenovo A1000 it won't work fine

Android have modified deeply the gpu driver interface on oreo and the driver is not open source.
So I abandonned but all the boot sequence was good only this driver was missing.

Hello dev, TY for this recovery. I have a problem with latest version (sm-j320fgm-twrp-3.6.2-20220614) The sdcard can't be mounted. TWRP treat it as if it were the internal storage. So, when I try to mount the sdcard, the internal storage is mounted instead. Also despite the file manager shows "sdcard", it access to internal storage. Finally the "/storage" folder is missing. Testing in SM-J320M.

Install BusyBox (Ignore if already installed)

Install Chroot and metapackages(it necessary for some applications,for example aircrack for me)

I know this issue but it does not interfere with the operation of the device.
