I know that there are some threads over this topic, but there is nowhere a specific answer. I have currently Sokkoban's ROM, and I want to revert to the official build. Can someon provide me with the necessary files in order to flash a stock recovery? I found only this answer, but there are no available links for the files. I would appreciate if anyone could help me. I have ALE L21- dual european edition, running on custom rom based on C432B574.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: tried with the HuaweiUpdateExtractor with the UPDATE.APP file, and flashed the first 3 images (boot, recovery cust) but I get an error while trying to flash the system.img.

It got messy after installing the 4 images. I tried this post and got myself with B052 and emui 4.0. Later I tried our post MEGA-THREAD ALE-L21, ALE-L23, ALE-L02, Converting, Root, Unbrick, Updating, Xposed - chapter 4: Unbricking but nothing.

Got light painting, removed bloatware, xposed compatible... So no complains.. I just wanted to make sure that going back is possible, and some say it is by flashing 4 images... But not with us.. Anyways will keep you updated if i find something new...

You are absolutely right. Although Sokkoban's ROM is really very good, you cannot go back to the official easily. Still din't try to flash another rom, like cm 11 and then go back to the official. If anyones does try it, he should let us know.

You need to flash the original recovery(which you already have). Then put dload folder in sdcard and upgrade manually. You might get BALONG bug (because this happened to me) so I recommend you to start from beginning( the very first firmware for your model/country). For me it was B120. It contained two dload folders one was the system and the other was vendor file. You need both files.

Tried everything. Even the files for converting into dual. The only thing I managed to get, was: Sokkoban's ROM, and after a factory reset, I got B052 with EMUI 4. Hopefully someone will find a way and create a guide.

If you are on B052 (official) and did not have balong bug then I think you can update to emui 4.0/Android 6.0 without any issues.

I used MEGA-THREAD ALE-L21, ALE-L23, ALE-L02, Converting, Root, Unbrick, Updating, Xposed - chapter 4: Unbricking but didn't work. Then I tried to revert to B052, but as I wrote before, I had Sokkoban's ROM and after a factory reset, I had B052 with emui 4.0 installed. By the way do you have nandroid backup of official rom? If yes restore it via twrp. This could save you a lot of time. The method I used isn't difficult but it takes time.
On sokoban's rom. Flash the original recovery (recommend that you extract it from the firmware you are going to flash).Use the oldest one (link given below) emui 3.1/Android 5.0 for dual sim
Now put dload file in sdcard/internal memory and upgrade the phone.
If you have balong bug put dload2(rename it to dload) folder in sdcard/ internal memory and upgrade.
Now later you may upgrade to Android 6.0/emui 4

No, I used TWRP backup.
When I tried to extract the images from an official ROM (I have done so many attempts that, I cannot remember which ROM I used), I was able to flash 3 out 4 files. The one I couldn't was the system. When I tried through classic (dload etc), It got stuck at 2% and would give me an error.
But that's all in the past. lol
At this moment, my phone is at the service center with no warranty cause my wifi adapter is not working. From what I've heard, such ptoblems, need mainboard replacement and I cannot afford it at this moment. So I am going to stuck with this phone till it's dead, and of course not going to install any ROM, just because I cannot update anything..... cheers!!!

Well tbh, you can simply convert the system.img using simg2img.exe and then make a flashable zip.
then you can install the system.img withing recovery

Hi Guys,
I need a bit of help with my Huawei P9 Plus, which I purchased here in UK Vodafone.
The original firmware on the phone was VIE-L09C02B127.
However I had applied VIE-C900B103 - from one of the guides in this forum and I forgot to backup my oeminfo and custom files, does this mean that they are the still the original files for VIE-L09C02B127 ?
Also can someone help in getting my phone back to VIE-L09C02B128 please. I have got the firmware L09C02B128 from a German site, can someone here able to check it and confirm if it this the same as the UK one ?
I can upload the firmware if someone can tell me how to ?
Thanks in advanced,
Bashy
I would appreciate it if you could upload it thanks (been waiting for B128 in SA and it just doesnt arrive due to our useless carriers), think you can put it in Google drive, Dropbox, Mega etc and then just share the link, thats probably the easiest.
In terms of flashing you need to unroot (via SuperSU) then install stock recovery (if you have twrp installed), then see http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9-...ei-p9-plus-vie-l09-update-app-t3384951/page11 for installing.

Hi Jostian,
Here is the link https://mega.nz/#!8UsBhQAL!QT67L7uCsjbj0vNXT0vSLbksZRx9znv8aVlje2IvT_o
Also in regard to applying this firmware onto my phone I am not rooted nor I have trwp installed.
So do I just copy the .app file onto my memory card and put it in the dload folder ?
Thanks in advanced.

Hi Jostian,
I am not root and nor I have twrp installed. However I did the below and my firmware is still showing VIE-L09C900B103;
1) Copied the update file on to my memory card and put in in the dload folder.
2) Restarted the phone, whilst holding down the volume up and down.
3) The phone installed the file from the memory card.
Can you please confirmed how you did it mate step by step.

Hi Bashy, cos you are unrooted your phone will only show new 128 if you install full 128 ROM, dont think you can install update (b128) over b103 and get update to B128 in build number.
Did you try the *#*#2846579#*#* this opens menu options- press "SDCard Upgrade" then "Ok" method (give it a try), I unzipped yr file (6 or 7 files inside) copied these all to the 'dload' folder I created on the ext SD Card, then used the *#*# ..... method to update, the update like yours was successful (completed and I see a bunch of new apps etc.) but I still see B127 in settings/about phone/build number... so not sure why build no. remains B127???
I think the best would be to somehow find the full B128 ROM and flash it or for the B128 update to be put into a flashable (twrp) zip, but because the P9Plus is so new these options not available yet, they will come but it will take a bit of time.
Hi Guys,

you need to extract the files from the zip, should be 2 files (Update.app and Meta-info) you put those 2 in the dload folder and then use the *#*#.... (project menu to install), remember you must be on stock recovery and phone must not be rooted.

Hi mate,
So for the delay in responding back.
My phone was did not have the bootloader unlocked and nor it was rooted.
However I did try to root it to change the 2 files over. But I can't confirm 100% worked.
Only way I would know this these 2 files were correctly updated is to check. I am not sure how too, but if someone can show then this would be great.

Hi there,
I'm using a Huawei P9+ Vie-L29.
I was tempted to Root it and enjoy a new Rom, I only found RayGlobe ROM which gave access to some settings but was not maintained and were no other custom ROMS, so I went back to Stock and locked bootloader again.
After coming back to stock, the huawei Theme Manager says that is applying the theme but in reality it does not change anything.
I already did a full re flash of the VIE-L29C636B170 software, with no success.
Also tried a full phone reset with no success.
I have seen a forum from Mate 8 with EMUI4.1 with a similar problem and a solution that requires Root, but, since Im in stock now it does not apply for me any more.
Do you have any hint or suggestion?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, faced similar issue previously. You'll need to root your rom and copy some theme files to the system folder. Then your themes will work. It's like the default theme folders are not there in the system. After that, if you want to unroot, use SuperSU's unroot feature. Let me see if I can find the reference and the file links I found last time later to post it up.
@juanmre, following is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/solve-apply-themes-downloaded-t3318265
I think it is the same link you mentioned.
And yes, unfortunately you will need to root again to solve this theme issue. Then unroot after that.

After rolling back from Android N beta version (which was draining my battery very fast), I faced the same problem with the themes.
So I gave this solution a try again and finally noticed that the "hw" folder is still within another "hw" folder, after fixing it, only one "hw" folder together with the "UPDATE.APP" file, everything worked and I'm able to change themes again. (by the way, it did make a fresh install again, so backup before if you want to try).

Hello everyone, so today I tried installing lineageos on my g play mini, and while I was factory reseting using twrp, it actually deleted my OS, even though I'm fairly sure I didn't check internal memory... Anyway, my phone got completely wiped out, but I can access twrp recovery, and fastboot mode. Is there a way to get back to the stock ROM? I've been trying for hours, but I can't find a solution. There are no custom mods for this phone, even the twrp version I'm using is for the honor 4c. Any help would be appreciated

I tried that, it updates normally but it stops right before the end and it gets stuck
I also tried extracting the Recovery, Boot and Cust files from the UPDATE.app file, and flashing them, but it doesn't do anything.
When I try to install it via zip file from the original recovery menu, it fails instantly with the message "cust link file fail. please check if vendor/country is valid. Software install failed!"
:crying: I've been trying to solve this for the past three days straight.

I still had the one that came originally with it. Which is Android Kit Kat (4.4) if I'm not mistaken. I never changed it while my phone was alive. I tried flashing the 4.4 rom available in Huawei's official site, as well as a lollipop one, and a 6.0 one. None worked, unfortunately.

I've been trying to find it but how can I know that, now that I have no OS installed? Is there a way?
I'm so pissed, I used those details 5 days ago to unlock bootloader, but I didn't save them anywhere

I'm not 100% sure, but here's what I did:
Downloaded an oeminfo zipped file, and flashed it through twrp. It was supposed to be for my model, but after flashing it successfully, I noticed my phone showed the "honor" logo, instead of the usual huawei one.
So after that, I downloaded the Kit Kat rom for Honor 4c, and extracted the following files from the UPDATE.app: boot, cache, cust, system, recovery.
Flashed them independently, and then I tried to turn on the phone, and it was working again, running Android Kit Kat. After that I've been able to update it to 6.0, EMUI4.0, through dload, local update method
this **** was scary but I pulled it off somehow. I have no knowledge whatsoever, this was pure trial and error for 5 days straight.
I should be able to install LineageOS now, don't you think?

If you had Android version higher than Android 5 and TWRP, you can download stock firmware with firmwarefinder (if it still exist, search in forums for it) and flash it in TWRP like any rom.
So, i have a P10 vtr-l29c432, bootloader unlocked, with twrp installed and from future rom installed, and now i want to go back to stock rom with Huawei recovery, to use the official updates via ota without problems. I'm not a noob but this is my first Huawei device and things are way more complicated compared with oneplus or nexus devices. My question is how to do it, because what i've so far is confusing me, if someone could explain me or give me some instructions i will appreciate it, thanks!
Hi!
same situation here. I would very much like to go back to stock but I'm not sure how... I saw a tutorial but I am not certain that that is what I need. Any confirmation would be very appreciated!!!
Tx & best
Exact same problem here on the p10 vtr-l09, seems to be a few different methods out there, either don't work or too confusing
You can try to update your phone with my guide.
This will reformat the system and your phone is on stock after a factory reset (reset is important when you come from another rom).
After factory reset you should be able to lock the bootloader.
Important is that you have in mind which Android version is installed and which phone model you have.
No warranty for this, I didn't try it or know someone with the same situation. But after learning something about how emui works it shouldn't be a problem.
did anyone tried this? I'm using custom rom from openkirin project and I would like to get back to stock. I have the stock recovery
On openkirin's website is a tutorial.
You need to extract system.img, ramdisk.img and kernel.img from update.app and flash them with Fastboot. After this boot into eRecovery and make a factory reset.

Yeah I tried to follow the instructions which they put in three separate articles, however the last one is landing on the main page and I don't see the flasing instructions. Here is the link:
https://openkirin.net/user_guide/how-to-flash-extracted-partition-images/
Doesn't work in all countries but worth a try:
Go to eRecovery (not recovery) and use wifi to go back to stock.
Worked for me.

Then do it like I wrote, the Fastboot commands should be clear if you already installed the Rom.
WiFi downloads don't work if you're rooted, you need to flash stock ramdisk manually before you can download via eRecovery.

Maybe he didn't install magisk when he was on one of the OpenKirin roms, so ramdisk is still stock. I used this eRecovery WiFi method when I was on fRomFuture, no magisk installed.

You're welcome.
Use huru updater as it is safest back to stock option for latest Huawei devices. Lookup tool right here in xda.

Jannomag here, it's possible to "update" to the same version. My script just tells the recovery to install the given update files. The recovery will overwrite the system without removing user data.
This should work without any issues but it can happen, that bugs are still present after this. If you want to fix firmware issues a complete factory reset is much more effective.

Did it help, what @glehel posted?
I want to know, because I want to provide this guide also for fixing problems like you have ... or had.
Use dload forced method with first before using scripts.
Just download the correct firmware for your device, if you know the firmware-version you had, use the exact one, because it was approved for installation:
http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model
Extract the the update.zip and put the update.app into a folder called dload on your sdcard.
Start you phone while holding all 3 buttons, this will launch th dload process.
This way you maybe safe some time.

Is there a way to retrieve the exact name of the installed stock firmware? For my VTR-L09C432 there are multiple versions listed (like 360, 365, etc). Also I am wondering what's the difference between FullOTA-MF / OTA-MF / FullOTA-MF-PF, etc.

No, you can´t check your version, but if you choose an older firmware, you should be fine. Afterwards you can update to a newer version.
The only problem might be, if you already had oreo installed, then you should use it again for restore, because the partitionlayout changed from nougat to oreo.
All version named B1XX are Nougatfirmwares
All version named B3XX are Oreofirmwares.
Choose a FULLOTA for updates, the others are just incremental and won´t help you in your case.
To be exact you should use a FullOTA-MF-PV. The PV stands for public version and all other firmwares are just internal builds from huawei.

If you don't want to go back to stock firmware, you also have the option of custom roms such as Lineage OS or one of the others in this forum.
If you go with stock firmware, I suggest you make a Nandroid back-up before you flash TWRP. You can easily do this by booting into twrp instead of flashing (eg: fastboot boot twrp.img). After creating and copying the back-up to your PC, you can proceed with flashing twrp and never have to worry about the softbricking again =).
