Fingerprint sensor problem - Xiaomi Mi 5 Questions & Answers

Hello,
Then I explain my problem yesterday my fingerprint sensor disappeared Lock options and I can not use it.
I flashed the latest stable rom via Miflash, it did not work.
I flashed the last rom Smiui, it did not work.
Wipe cache and Full wipe, did not solve my problem.
And by * # * # 64663 # * # *, the test fingerprint sensor tells me failed.
Any ideas please ?
Sorry, I use Google Translate.

I had the same problem, tried a few things ( flash via miflash, twrp a few Roms like original miui or xiaomi.eu Rom). I had to do an update with thee updater app. After that everything worked fine again. Still bit confused why it happened.

I tried again to flash via miflash, but it still does not work.
I tried with a custom rom.
It's really weird that it went away like that.

HI, did have a soluten? im´from Germany I have same Problem

Problems with persist_1.img

Hi,
i flashed my Pro and unfortunately wiped the persist partition. After booting everything worked fine except the proximity sensor. I searched the internet and found a solution to flash the persist_1.img. After flashing the persist_1.img the Pro crashed again and again with the blue LED on. The only way to use it was wiping the persist partition and reinstalling, but now i have no proximity sensor.
Is there any solution to get my proximity sensor back?
Thanks!
Edit: Unfortunately i am not allowed to post links...
Solved. I flashed 1.9 with qfil and after that installed aicp.
Thats the short Version, it took me 5 hours at least...

Mi8 SE Always on display problem

Good day,
from today I hv a problem on my AOD, it keep my display always ON even when it's in standby with date + times
I noted it because the screen is stll gray (pixels on) instead of black (pixels off as usual)
I tried a wipe, then to upgrade my rom fm eu 8.25 to pie eu 8.11.1 but the bug is still here
Someone can help me?
I'm in that ROM and I do not have that problem. install the Chinese ROM to remove any errors and then install the ROM EU again.
I did that once but the sensors did not work.

Thanks for you quick reply
I will try but I don't understand how to flash "original" chinese rom could solve it. If I'm not wrong I need to do a full wipe before eu flash, so all info by previous rom should be deleted
You have to format data before installing eu rom.

yes of course, so I don't understand how a double flash could help

How to return to stock?

Hello guys! After experiencing all custom ROMS including Xiaomi.EU, figured out that every single one has some small inconvenience for me and planning to return to stock, eventually using only Magisk and potentially a custom Kernel.
Managed to install every single version of Global Developer ROM, everything works well except the FaceUnlock that was gone, (the phone remained stucked in China region) and I am not able to access the fingerprint section, after few tries it brings me an error message.
Tried also using MIFlash , but the Fastboot ROM writting took 3 sec to write and stopped as successfully, then nothing but bootlooping.
Currently is the phone is functional, but as mentioned before not able to setup new fingerprints (using cache and data from old recovery and those work) neither Face Unlock.
Tried to Google any kind of solution, but unfortunately nothing worked.
Any suggestion is appreciated.
I see that nobody is interested to support, so I continuously researched and figured out that doing a full wipe and following these steps from this post will solve my problem:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8/help/chinese-mi8-to-global-instructions-t3839665
From I don't know which reason I was blocked on China region without the possibility to changing it.

XIAOMI.EU MIUI11 compass issue

Hello guys, I need your help. I discovered that on xiaomi.eu rom compass is behaving kinda wrong. I discussed about it here but I didn't get any solutions for that problem. On Global Stable ROM everything is fine, compass stands still but on the xiaomi.eu it keeps increasing value when the phone is laying on the table. I discovered also that in the diagnostic menu the value of Z axis is increasing (screenshot). As it's not a hardware problem it must be something wrong with the software. Can you help me to solve this problem? If I should check anything else or give you more feedback about it, just tell me. BTW I tried factory reset twice, even flashed back Global rom and then again xiaomi.eu. Also I cleared the compass data and tried to calibrate it many times. I hope it's not a Chinese rom problem on which xiaomi.eu is based on
Seems like the latest update (9.10.31) finally fixed that issue. The thread can be closed/deleted

MIUI Unable to connect to 5Ghz wifi

I´m running latest stable MIUI from XIAOMI.EU and I can´t connect to any 5Ghz WIFI.
I can see them in my wifi search and after I type the right password it can´t connect.
I have tried flashing other MIUI roms same problem.
It only works with AOSP roms.
Anny suggestions?

For it only to work with AOSP is strange, I am using Xiaomi.EU and do not have any issues with 5g.
My guess is that you are using AOSP ROMs with custom firmware.
If you want to switch to Xiaomi.EU try a full wipe, including formatting the userdata partition. Reboot to fastboot and flash fastboot flash an images rom which will restore the partitions back to the latest official firmware. You can find links to the images rom on my all in one persist thread, be sure to make a full twrp backup as I suggest be on the Op.
After flashing the rom, reflash, Twrp and then install Xiaomi.EU. I am certain that you will no longer have issues.
Thanks! Will give it a try.
So I formated data in TWRP, then flashed latest global with flashtool , flashed TWRP then formated data again. Flashed latest Xiaomi.EU stable.
Still same problem .
It finds the network and then I type the password, it says connecting and then nothing happens.
I've the same problem with latest global, my MI 8 is "untouched"
Edit:
Sorry, it was a router "problem", now solved

It seems that you have ruled out the phone being the issue.
The post directly above your solve their issue by doing something to their router. I would assume that they simply unplugged the router for 15 seconds ( called power cycling) or maybe they even had to reset the router. ( Should not take more than 10 minutes) These types of issues happen all the time with phones, especially iphones. or if your router sets uses internal TCP/IP static addresses.

The problem occurs in different network home and work.
I think I found the issue, the region is fixed at KINA. I flashed some region fix and then it's possible to change, but it reverts to china on reboot.
Now how to fix this issue?

That is really weird. Where did you get the region fix? Are you sure it's not outdated? All of those mods posted by Agimax are for Miui 10. That is unless he made new ones.
Use the network option ( see attached) The region option was removed from Xiaomi.Eu. However, they use the global devices radio drivers.
I'm having the same problem for a big while now. I think it was since MIUI 12 came to my redmi note 7.
I just can't connect to any 5Ghz connection and I know that it's not router-related.
I have never flashed any ROM.
