Is it possible to enable band 7 via service menu (or any other method) on a sprint branded note 5? I'd like to use it with AT&T if possible.
Thanks!

I just unlocked my AT&T Note 4 and I'm using it on T-Mobile but have some questions.
1. Even though I'm able to make calls on T-Mobile network it doesn't seem to be able to connect to the data. When I shut off Wi-Fi it's not able to connect to internet. Is there some setting I need to change?
2. How do I delete all the AT&T apps? It only allows me to disable.
3. Is there any T-Mobile apps that I need to install?
4. When I go to Settings >> General >> About device >> Software updates it still displays "AT&T Software update". Is there T-Mobile equivalent and how do I make the phone use that?
Thank you.
1) change your apn settings to tmobile
2) you need to root your att note 4 which is not possible at the moment
3) look in play store there are some tmobile apps
4) you can't because your phone is flashed to att.

Thank you for your response!
After inserting the tmobile sim it looks like epc.tmobile.com APN was created. I had to check data roaming option to get the data to work per below TMobile support document. Is this the correct Tmobile APN?

Is it possible to flash my AT&T Note with Tmobile image? Another issue I'm seeing is visual voicemail button on the dialer doesn't seem to work with TMobile. I had to install TMobile Visual Voicemail dialer which doesn't come up when I press the button on the phone dialer.
I thought getting the phone unlocked was all I needed to do but it seems there are many other minor issues with using ATT Note 4 on Tmobile. It looks like my wife's AT&T iPhone 6 Plus is working more seamlessly on TMobile.
So before anyone flames me for asking about using a Sprint S6 Edge on Verizon, I'd like to clarify that I convinced Verizon to add my IMEI to their database. I have voice, text and data access (but no LTE and always shows as roaming). My phone is carrier unlocked (obviously) and rooted.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, here are my questions:
- How can I re-program my phone to recognize Verizon as the default provider? Or is there any way to flash the Verizon firmware on the phone (aka make the phone a Verizon phone)?
- I'm hoping to be able to connect to Verizon's Band 4 LTE since I understand the SM-G925P to have the Band 4 radio. How can I connect to it?
- I can't view/access the APN settings and so I can't manually add the Verizon APN settings because of some "profile does not have access" issue. How can I give myself access?
Thanks in advance!

Most Sprint phones have an unlockable bootloader so I would assume this one does as well. Why not flash a Verizon rom?

I'm interested to see if this works fully. It looks like all Sprint Samsung's can be sim unlocked and bootloader unlocked so this could be a solution to getting unlockable Samsung phones on Verizon once again.

Any update on this? I am in the same boat. I was able to add the Verizon APN's and I am still having the issue of not being able to connect to the 4G LTE. BTW the roaming icon on the phone I think is just the software being programmed for the Sprint network and sees that you connecting to Verizon as roaming. If you check the SIM status, it will show that it is currently not roaming.
Any updates on this?

Hi,
I have a Singapore N920I. Im using the phone in INDIA and am not enable to Enable VOLTE. its says 'unsupported by current software version'. Ive tried enabling the 'turn off volte provisioned flag' but doesn't work when tapping on it. My device is rooted. Is there any way to enable VOLTE on my phone.
Android version : 6.0.1
BaseBand: N920IDVU2BPE2
Model : SM-N920I
Thanks
As far as I know, and don't quote me on this. You cannot. The volte service is different from carrier to carrier. For example, I had a Verizon s6 when I switched to T-Mobile. Both networks support volte/advanced calling, however when I tried to activate volte on T-Mobile, it didn't work. The software is looking for the wrong signal. You're best bet is to sell the one you have an buy one compatible with your carrier. Also you could check over on the general note 5 development threads. There is far more support over there for devices that aren't the 920t. Hope this helps.
Your CSC doesn't support the other network. So its like trying to log into a website with a different website account.
Unlocked Galaxy s5 AT&T Samsung SM N920A on GSM network.
Stock Rom, Unlocked, on Android 7.0 (updated with Odin)
My goal is to see if this phone can indeed be used on CDMA.
Now let me back up.. I hear you. Most phones cannot be used on CDMA if they are GSM.
However if I key in the code *#*#4636#*#* with daler, (which is the Display information about Phone, Battery and Usage statistics)
I get to a menu that allows setting the ''Preferred Network Type''
is this a system setting used by mannufacture for setting the phone for market, and the phone itself simply doesn't have CDMA?
The specs for this phone
lists nfra: 2G GSM, 3G WCDMA, 4G LTE FDD;
Meaning this phone does indeed use both CDMA and GSM network, is this correct?
If so, how do I sucessfully enable it to utalize CDMA connection?
f not, why does the option for CDMA, LTE appear in the menu, along with many others.
I greatly appricate any responce on this topic

I to would love any information reguarding this. Same phone same specs. Was a little new to how the towers and unlocking system for each set of towers was defined when I unwitting traded my Verizon galaxy note 5 for and unlocked note 5. I was told the phone could be used on either set of towers and that it was factory unlocked and not just gsm unlocked. And that factory unlocked meant that it could be used with any carrier on any tower. Believing this to be miss information I had hoped to root the phone and find a root method for using cdma towers. I have being your own pho e service through straight talk so I had to switch my my sim back to and older phone wich not only is less advanced but also currently seems to be unrootable, because there are no gsm towers where where I live so I have no service at home and I'm out a note 5 and can't root my phone wich is a great dissapiontment for me. But when I open my phone it offers to allow me to choose those towers the same as yours. Someone help me stop this madness.
Hello everyone,
My friend brought me a Galaxy Note 8 from Korea (SM-N950N) and I'm facing some issues using it in Brazil.
1) My carrier - VIVO - used to work with 4G conection in this very same SIM Card. However, I got only 3G with my Note 8.
Importante info: the seller had the phone carrier-unlocked before selling it. This phone was not new from the box. Someone had used with Korean carrier.
2) Is there a way to know if I'm using any different ROM from stock?
Should I root and flash any other ROM for local use in Brazil?
Any guidance is of great help!
Thank you very much.
You would have to check that your Service Provider uses the same LTE bands that is support on the N950N. As not all LTE bands are support for use on the N950N.
According to frequencycheck.com at this link the SM-N950N should support all the 4G bands. Did you make sure and enter the correct APN settings in Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names? Do you have LTE/3G/2G (auto connect) selected in Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks? You should check those settings first.
