Youtube qualities - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys. Im the new here. I was using stock rom 4.1.2 and had 480p quality on youtube videos.
That stock system is to old, I cant use emojis on instagram and other. So I decided to upgrade my system. I tried 5.1.1 Lolipop and didn't fit. It lags and memory usage is pretty big. And finally I found 4.4.4 KitKat. It really fits me for perfomances and system addons. But there is a problem with YT quality. I heard somewhere I need to change DPI settings to get 720 or 480p quality but that doesn't seems safe to work with it. I was googleing and found that CM11 can't change systematically DPI. What should I do with Youtube? I downloaded many modded apps but quality is still same (360p).

[Q] Camera mod doesn't work

Hello, my Optimus 2X is running v10b, and im trying to flash that mod -http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090785 . Flashed without issues, but when i record video, and see info in Windows it shows - full hd 24 fps 10 mbps bitrate. Why is that? I also tried alternative install via root explorer, but it's the same. The icon of camera doesn't change also.
I also try to solve this problem. But there is no help. apparently no one minds the terrible quality pictures and videos on this phone with camera stock

[Q] sound problem from vids at youtube

Hi there... I'm using cm7 and just notice this issue...
Last weekend I recorded some vids, everything went good, watch them at phone and sound was good, transfer them to pc and still is everything ok, HD image quality and better sound quality [than stock rom]...
The thing is, before when using stock rom recorded a lot of vids and uploaded them to youtube and everything was good. Now using cm7 and once is upload at youtube the sound is a mess, it's like skippy like "tak-tak-tak-tak-tak" you know what I mean? Image runs normal is just the sound that's crapy and if I look back at the vid on mediaplayer, winamp or whatever everything is ok...
Thinking about it, is there a way to install stock camera app?? I think that's the only thing thats better at stock rom[froyo] than cm7 rom
Thnx all, regards

Full screen video/YouTube quality playback

OK so I've checked around but I couldn't find anyone who has spoken of the problem/observation... It may have been covered off previously but it doesn't seem to spoken about much.
I currently have milaq's cm11 nightly 27th Dec but what I've noticed since JB (evervolv) on my touchpad and now the kitkat nightlies, full screen YouTube videos don't seem to smoothing out/anti aliasing correctly. Playback overall is smooth with no stutters etc, quality is set to HQ/HD and in the non full screen window seems perfectly fine, just when in full screen mode playback seems to be resized a little jaggedy.
I've previously had cm7 and cm9 installed which had no issue with fulscreen youtube playback.
Any ideas? Is this normal with JB/KK?
Thanks guys!
Anyone?
Same here with CM11 of 2014-03-05 (fresh install) and Youtube 5.3.32.
Tried changing ROM DPI, resetting youtube data, uninstall... Nothing changed.
Playback is without antialiasing, no matter the quality (LQ, HQ, HD,...).
Any solution yet?
Hey, latest YouTube version fixed the problem for me

Youtube resolution

Hi guys, I'm sorry if this has been discussed in another thread, but I've been digging into this for about 2 hours now, and found nothing. I have a backup galaxy s advance, that I recently flashed with a cm 11 rom, and I'm not sure, but I'm under the impression that before with 4.1.2 stock, I could watch 480p videos on youtube, now the maximum resolution is 360p, and it's kinda pixelated. My question is....stock, is 360p the maximum resolution supported ? Also, is there any mod/fix whatever that can force youtube to go to 480p ? From my limited knowledge a 800x480 display should be 480p compatible, but please correct me if I'm wrong I've tried to modify the pixel density from build prop, but with no effect. Any help would be much appreciated
somewhere on the internet I read that Youtube does this restriction when you use HDMI connection to the screen.
I used to have very nice HD streaming for long time but after one of the app updates it is restricted, nothing else changed. I tried even to compare how it looks on my laptop. same video is showing full hd on laptop while on android it shows 360p max.
so by the experience I have it is definitely youtube app which restricts the options!!!!!!!
On stock (and stock based roms) you can watch 480p videos.
On KitKat you can't.
But you could try alternative apps like this one for 720p videos.
ALSO you can use this module in XPOSED called YOURTUBE you can change the resolution of the playing video ( i have not used it myself but the dev has mensioned it in module info)
Thanks for the suggestions guys

Instagram Stories videos low framerate?

Is anyone facing problems with Stories videos? Whenever I try to upload a video, from my gallery, the video lags SO MUCH...
And if I try to record a video directly in Instagram app, the video lags EVEN MORE.
The experience with this social network, in a whole, is a little bit crappy, with the Mi A2...
It's so sad, because I really love this phone, specially the camera.
Well, is anyone facing the same problem? Is there any fix?
Thanks in advance! <3
Same problem, only with GBintsa stories work fine
Same problem, but only video story.
I also have this issue and always had it with every Android smartphone I ever owned. I investigated a bit on the internet and read somewhere that Instagram handles the Android camera API in a ****ty way. I'm no expert but seemingly the difference is that iPhone always uses the same API or just some different version because there are not many models on Android however there are probably more than 1000 different camera APIs because there is a much bigger variety of models. In short: Instagram on Android is not very well optimized.
I had the same issue with my MI A2 i fixed it buy installing a previous version of the instagram app I had the go like 10 vesrion before to get it right though and i lost the gif feature in messages but let's hope the update wont have the same problem.
Instagram beta works fine for me
Edit: NO IT'S NOT!!
Also recording from stock camera app in 1080p 60fps and then posting as story is fine
I also had this kind of issue, which is also present in older device like Redmi Note 4 in MIUI. I don't know what make its bugged tho

You have to think that you don't have an iphone, and you don't record smooth video on instagram app. Record on camera app and share it on your story.
Also photos you sent on instagram are in very tiny resolution (dm)

Yes I know...
I think this is a decoder related thing.. because screenshots look bad, but photos taken from camera looks good. Any video other than 1080p 60 fps from stock camera looks stuttering; but it also has very bad sound quality... That's really fuktup xiaomi..
sound program

The problem with the sound program will solve Cinema FV-5.
Go to the sound settings and put a tick on the Disable Audio Automatic gain Control (AGC). The sound starts being processed by the application's algorithms.

Instagram stories are smooth on my mi a2 running android P with the latest instagram update. Last time i was on android 8.1, the latest version of instagram has the choppy stories problem. Try updating to android P.
It's been months and still my stories are 15 fps.... what a joke...
This crap needs to get fixed. No matter which account I the video is choppy/laggy. If i shoot video inside the app the review looks good. once it uploads it's laggy. If I save the video to my phone... it's choppy. If i have a video already on my phone and I upload it to stories to the normal feed... it's choppy AF.
I'm on 8.1 oreo with RAW enabled. This suuuucks
Can someone confirm that the videos are better or smoother in Android P?

YESS this also happened to me, im using redmi note 5 rn and the current rom is in miui 10 global stable
The solution is to install the older version of instagram. I'm from Brazil and I found this solution, if you want to solve it and see everything fast again use this version here: 51.0.0.20.85
Search google to download ...
Do not upgrade to the newer version, if it does not come back all over again.
Guys! I found the solution!! Try to use the
H.265/HEVC codec.
