Since updating my device to nougat beta it's had constant issues.
- Can't connect to any PC unless in recovery mode
- no themes will work
- Cant play back recorded videos
- battery drain
Etc.....
Tried to downgrade back to MM but no method seems to work.
Have tried doad method with internal and external SD Card, all updates get to 51% then fail
Have tried both L09C432B136 and B166. Both are full stock roms and still nothing.
Any help would be much appreciated
This problems looks ordinary :/ ...as you know Nougat is not fit for P9 -yet-, and your Nougat version is not official.
Did you try HiSuite for the turn to Android 6 (official).
Also i think you can downgrade your device with this tool... (it's only a suggestion).

Stupid me installed EVA-C900B166 on my P9 and now my Android Pay doesn't work. I don't remember what the prior version was but I tried to install the UK/EU P9 rom with the hope that this would fix the issue. But no luck. Is the feature now broken and I'll never be able to repair? I was hoping to flash a stock rom from the Huawei site. I dropped the file into the dload folder went through the various update steps which looked like it was all was fine but when the phone restarted is still had version B166.
Love my phone but getting fed-up waiting on the never arriving update
Any tips on reverting or even just making Android Pay work would be much appreciated.

Does NCF work ? Try installing an EVAL-L09 Rom via twrp.

Try wiping the cache partition in recovery mode. That should help. If it doesn't then you would have to perform a hard factory reset.
i did it but nothing same problem
can i try to reflash again Oreo 8.0 with odin ??
Try using Kies to repair your device. It maybe missing specific drivers that is causing your issue
How did you downgrade? I am also interested in downgrading to 7.1.1
Why are people downgrading to 7.1.1?

Because they don't like Oreo for whatever reason. Some have mentioned battery issues, or problems with specific apps. For others it works great.
i have dowgraded with odin
i like oreo but battery is much better with 7.1.1
Can you downgrade if yours isn't rooted? I got the crappy boot locked version :[
i can dowgrade without root
if you have bootloader v3 you can downgrade my note is with v3 bootloader some note 8 after oreo update thay have bootloader v4 from v4 to v3 you cant downgrade from v3 to v3 you can
i found a solution I've put sticker film back on my phone and it stops receptions after i removed everything is good now
Wassup, I have a small problem, rather a big one.
I'm still stuck at NEM-L21C43B131 update, Emui 4.2.1, which is from 1 december 2016 I've read that I should have gotten nougat but I cannot recieve any updates, I've tried using HiSuite, Firmware finder on both PC and on the Phone, Proxy, DNS, and regular dload method. NONE HAVE WORKED.
I even contacted the huawei support and they said there are tons of firmware updates and I should have gotten them and they will maybe send out an firmware to me. (Not gotten it so dead end there)
I tried unlocking the bootloader, installed twrp to get a custom ROM, LineageOS 14.1 doesn't want to install due to Error 7, I tried to install Elite TWRP but the phone don't want to boot into it, so I tried using regular TWRP to install Elite ROM, it does install but doesn't exist which makes no sense whatsoever.
TWRP 3.1.1.0 is the only one that works, the rest just doesn't work.
I have even tried using Meticulus LineageOS for EMUI 4.X, but either I get encrypted password on it or error 7.
So I don't know what to do at this point, I heard android 7 fixes alot of bugs like RAM usage for honor 5C, and thats all I care about since the phone keeps crashing due to an app or freezing all togheter for 15-20 minutes and then reboots. (OR REALLY SUPER SLOW)
Factory resetted the phone about 30 times at this point.
If anyone got an idea I'm open to ears and eyes :good:
Thanks!
Hi all
I picked up a second hand Huawei P9, (EVA-L19) my intention was to unlock the bootloader & flash a custom version of Android 9 or 10 on it.
I unlocked the bootloader via the DC method, and loaded TWRP, and wiped the previous firmware...
Only during the process, I realised I needed to update the phone to the latest stock version of Nougat first, and then upgrade it to Oreo, and then load the custom firmware... I have struggled to find stock software that works. I have used TWRP, the multi tool, and other programs such as firmware extractor, the HUR updater and I just cannot find anything 100% working. On top of that, there seems to be a problem with the battery, not sure if it is firmware related, or I need to get a new battery. The phone stays on for 2 minutes before the battery dies.
I have managed with the HUR updater & huawei-firmware.com to get a version of Nougat installed, it seems to boot, but the keyboard doesn't work, and any attempt to reset it gives me the explanation mark in the recovery menu.
The phone is a South African version of the L19.
My intention would be to get the phone back to working version of stock, then follow the correct proceedures, and update to Oreo, and then custom again. If the battery still gives issues, I will replace it.
Please help, running out of patience.
Thanks
So I had the phone for almost 2 years, and I realise that I haven't received updates since March 2020. I know that EMUI 11 is out, but I have not gotten an update after EMUI 10.0. I tried using the HiCare method, the HiSuite PC method, but nothing works. I'm currently located in the United States, I don't think it has to do where I am, because I know someone who has EMUI 10.1 or EMUI 11 on their device. What should I do to update the device? I also found out the region code is C636, which is Asia Pacific.
There's a thread on flashing firmware on locked boot loaders. That may be of help.

I would do it, but I think it's too risky.
Been there, done that. Don't worry, I can help for you not to kill the phone like I did on my first attempt .
The dload method works fine. Although, you will need to get the rom for our region from here (this is the latest 10.1 version, you can verify it here) . I recommend going with the OTG adapter + USB memory stick method (it will wipe the data so don't forget to make a backup before proceeding).
I just want to clarify that I haven't been able to upgrade from 10.1 to 11 with any of the methods you have mentioned, not even with HISuite Proxy (there's no dload FW support for EMUI 11). Since I'm a Mac user I had to go with a virtual machine so that could have been the problem though (I read other users have successfully upgraded to 11 once they were on 10.1).
The main reason for me to update the phone was fixing the wireless charging. I've bought a Huawei wireless charger and I'm having this issue (spoilers alert: it doesn't seem to be a software issue so no, still not working).
The process is relatively safe as long as you flash the right firmware. On my first attempt I flashed the firmware from a different region. The phone worked normally except for the device certification (no Netflix, Google Pay, banking apps and so on).
Good luck and just let me know if you have any questions.
Did you succeed to upgrade your device to emui 11? Please share your method if you did
Try to update via Hi Care (it used to be to force an update to Emui 11 before the update came out in the normal "updater")
In HiCare app -> select Your device -> Quic Services -> Update -> click Check for updates
