Hey Guys,
this is my Little Port of the Bootanimation from NitrogenOS for the G5
On my old E975 I'm Running NitrogenOS and i extracted the bootanimation from there because i Love it.
I removed the nitrogenOS logo inside the animation.
The Resolution is 1080x1080.
Installation:
Copy the bootanimation.zip to /system/media and overwrite the existing one. A Backup is recommended. There's no bricking risk because it loads the default android animation when the zip is broken/not existing.
However I'm NOT responsible to any damage done to your Device. I've tested it on a H850 international, the Animation should work on any other Device with a Resolution >=FullHD too.

Hey animation looks great but it doesnt seem to work on my H850, placed it in system/media although i didnt overwrite and there isn't any original bootanimation.zip in the folder in the first place. I am using Fluence HD24 so i dont know if that has something to do with it
That's strange, every ROM should support Bootanimations. Try another Explorer, I used Solid Explorer it worked flawlessly.
Tested it,First boot looped, the animation refused to end even after 2 minutes, rebooted, still the same, luckily restored old bootanimation through twrp bootloader file manager.

I also use Solid Explorer and i navigated to root/system/media where there are many files but no bootanimation.zip. I will ask @Miustone if he knows if the bootanimation is located in a different place on Fluence HD24
Jeah ask the dev it's a good idea.
Hello guys,
I really like the boot animation, but can't seem to make it work, I don't know if it's right place to ask, but I count on your help, so:
I have H850 running on 10i, vodafone, boot unlocked, TWRP installed, supersu installed.
There are two bootanimation.zip-s: at /system/media and second one at /persist-lg/poweron, I've replaced first one without problem, set permissions, rebooted - still stock boot animation comes on. Tried to replace second one, but it doesn't let me to do that - not enough space (original one is 2.9 MB) - tried to delete it, but after restart its back. Also tried to replace second boot animation with different one (5MB size), but after restart original one is overwritten again. Tried to google but can't seem to find anyone with similar problem.
Thank you in advance
---
Found one more in /data/local, so there are three locations for me:
/system/media
/persist-lg/poweron
/data/local
I'll play around to see which one has priority over others.
Just leaving this message here if somebody has similar issue.
That's because you have a Vodafone branding. Unbrand your device and then it'll work. I also recommend overwriting with solid Explorer, I just did drag'n'drop and it worked.

I just wanted to share my boot animation. It's a hybrid of the Nexus One's with a different HTC animation. I made it because I didn't really care for the original one with the android bot waving at me. This is just thrown together and isn't original but simply two boot animations I took and combined their best parts together. It's pretty simple and classic but nothing beats the X, imo
Installation:
Connect MTS to computer via usb cable.
Copy the bootanimation.zip into SDK/tools folder (your own directory location may vary).
Boot MTS into clockwork recovery and mount system.
Open cmd prompt and type cd /SDK/tools (again, may vary).
Double check device by typing adb devices.
And finally, type adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media.
Reboot and enjoy!
I was too lazy to make a gif image. So here's a general idea of what it looks like....

huh?! That's weird... Do you have an old animation in data/local or something? I just downloaded it and checked the link. Its the X and htc quietly brilliant... same as always.

no only thing in data/local is flash_image, mtd0.img and tmp folder which is empty
Whenever I try to push the file over, it doesn't allow me to. Running it says the folder is read-only, from clockwork the device is listed as offline. any idea?

Do you have the android SDK installed and the usb drivers for the slide?

Sounds like you might not actuall have S-OFF.
It's not quietly smooth at all :/
Hey all,
Since my DINC, I have been using the Simple Inverted Splash image & boot animation. I found someone created one for the TBolt so I give the credit for the original Thunderbolt version from this thread, only I took off the "TM" on my splash image and boot animation.
I darkened the black and removed the TM from the original Splash image which is attached to this thread. To put it on your phone; Rename it to PG05IMG, put it in the root of your SDcard, reboot into Bootloader, let the update load, Push Volume up to update, reboot & let it fly.
The original DINC splash & boot animation is found here; so you know where the credit goes. Anyway, I modified & centered "HTC Thunderbolt", kept the same darkness as the splash screen as well as smoothness of the original. I loaded it on my phone and it works like a champ so hopefully all you enjoy!
Thanks to the original creators of the images.
Here is the boot animation link:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IHBYJ427
First go to /system/customize/resource & rename the current VZW_bootanimation.zip to whatever. Rename the new boot animation to VZW_bootanimation.zip and stick it in /system/customize/resource, reboot and watch the new boot animation!

I really like the splash screen with the black background and the simple boot screen. I recently flashed a new ROM and came to get this back, but I see the megaupload link is dead. Any chance of getting this uploaded somewhere else?
BTW, I can't believe no one else ever replied or thanked you for this post.

No worries. It served its purpose for the era of the Tbolt. You're welcome. I may still have the files on my work computer. When I go back I will check, upload em somewhere and get em to you.
Hey man, I don't have the splash screen file but I do have these two bootanimations for the TBolt that you can have.

stupid noob question pls....would this be considered a boot.img?
Finally working!! But you have to manually copy zip file in to /system/media/
You will need Root Explorer or something like that.
Copy it here:
/system/media/bootanimation.zip
NEW!
Android L Bootanimation
30fps was too fast so it's 20fps. I'm also working on Boot Sound script so stay tuned
You need something like Rom Toolbox to install this boot animation, or you can copy it directly in:
/system/media/bootanimation.zip
It should work too.
It didn't work before because of bigger resolution. It was 1920x1080 but OUYA has 1920x1016 so now it is 1806x1016.
Bios
It's an old bios boot animation with XBMC logo in the end.
Download
I've made new version with THX sound and better animated, flashable in CWM recovery. But sound not work and CWM flash fail

How on earth did you get these to work? I have deleted the original bootanimation.zip from System/Media, added these boot animations 1 by 1 done a reboot after each one obviously and all i get is an 'Android' logo in grey pop up. Any ideas?

Make sure you set the permissions to rw/r/r or use an app like boot box

New Android L Boot Animation
Added new Android L Boot Animation!
Hi,
I know we get bored by seeing that same old bootanimation in our mobile phones. So I made a custom boot animation for myself & now I am sharing this with all of you.
This is my first ever made boot animation so if you think there should be some changes or some errors occur (Freeze/Blank screen), pls make sure you comment your opinions.

Note -
I made this for my device so it is for 720×1280 pixel devices.
But if you like it then I will make it for different resolution devices or you can do it yourself with the help of Image Resizer. (Extract the zip file & resize the images in the folders to your device's resolution, then again compress it)
If there are some ideas (videos you think would make cool animations) for new bootanimations, Feel free to comment them.
And also hit the thanks button so that I will know you liked it or not.

Thanks for the additional link to resize the image to make it suitable for my device. "Witcher 3 BootAnimation" right? I would surely use it to see whats new in that.

I will definitely make them for you all.
DISCLAIMER:
If you mess something up, do a search or speak up, someone or I will help. Chances are, others have had similar problems. However, I am not responsible for damages because you cannot read or took a mallet to your phone in frustration.
Also, anyone who wants to reuse/share/distribute/tweak these, go right ahead. That's why I included the original files for d/l. I do not mind, just post that the originals were found on XDA and posted by me. It's the honor system, use it and enjoy it.
If you need detailed instructions, there are tons of threads out there designed to help with boot animations. However, if you are having a very hard time getting any of these to work, post up, and I will try to help or just shoot me a PM.
SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download the bootanimation for your device.
2. Change the name of the "zip" file to whatever name your phone uses for its animations. (i.e.: "bootanimation.zip" "VZW_bootanimation.zip" etc.)
3. Copy the zip file to your phone, doesn't matter if it's via USB cable to SDCARD, using ADB to push the file, or using your phone's browser to download the file directly from the link.
4. Copy, move, or place said files you downloaded and renamed into the directory where your boot animations are stored. Typically for most phones the directories are: /system/media - /data/local - or in most HTC phones /system/customize/resource/ and grant the required permissions to it.
SAMSUNG OWNERS:
Go to this thread if your boot plays distorted or does not work at all.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2063280
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Make sure to backup your old/stock boot animation if you haven't already done so. The easiest way is to use your favorite file explorer to rename the old boot animation to something like: "bootanimation.zip.bak".
BOOM! Done.
