I thought many times to use LP and even flashed it, but the phone started to become very hot and camera doesnt didn't even lasted 5 minutes of normal resolution video recording. IMO forget LP and stay on MM.

I searched and found nothing exactly like what I was experiencing and nothing I hadn't already tried. Hopefully someone has seen this before. I HAD a nice rooted stock SM-G900A 4.4.4 and now I have a flashy gold brick (soft). I rooted by downgrading the kernel to use towelroot then flashed stock kernel back. Everything worked fine for about a week or so. I'm not sure at what point I started having issues exactly so I'm not sure if an app or mild mod could have caused my issues. The only thing I had done was use SuperSU to block Knox and change the terrible TW stock sounds to standard ogg clicks and what not. The trouble started with the camera. I opened my camera and the screen would flash green then I would have red ghost images in a pattern on the screen. The pictures I took had the same effect when viewed in the gallery. If I switched modes the problem would go away with the camera until I closed then opened the camera app again so I assumed it was a software rather than hardware problem. I couldn't find any info on a fix so I did a factory reset. The problem persisted. I decided finally to flash back to stock. That's when it really got bad. After flashing to stock the phone will boot to the Samsung animation with the swoosh, freeze there for a few seconds without completing the boot animation then the screen shuts off and the phone becomes unresponsive. The only signs of life is the blue LED is constant lit. I have to do a battery pull to start over. I have flashed just the PDA and I have flashed the whole shootin match (except for BL) and I get the same results. I have tried stock tar files from a couple different sources. It will go into download mode as well as stock recovery where I tried a factory reset after flashing. PLEASE HELP!
So I flashed OA1 stock kernel and got it to boot. Of course now I get the Update interrupted message when I try for the OTA to anything newer than the 4.4.2 it's running. And after 8 hours of messing with this gem the camera issue persists.

Go here and flash back to NCE. Then take the OTAs.

That is what I ended up doing just an hour before your reply and all is well again. I suppose my first attempt to go back to NCE didn't work because I didn't use the downgrade flash, just a regular 4.4.2 stock. There must be a difference between the two. The OTAs still wouldn't work so I ended up installing the updates from external sd. The lollipop OTA is downloading fine though. Thanks for confirming I FINALLY went the right route. This root screw up wasn't as bad as my last (efs S3 debacle) but it still took too many hours to fix.

If you take the 5.0 ota you won't be able to root. Just FYI. There is no root for it yet. There is a pay however in the general section on how to upgrade to 5.0 and keep root.
Hi ! I was searching on Z2 forums and seems like they have managed to Root Z2 with kingroot method on locked bootloader. Its not working on Z1 currently but with some modifications it just might. Its almost the same rom still. I have no experience but someone might just get this working on Z1 too ! Just wanted to let you guys know ! Good luck o/
Here is the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/root-t3108230
Yes, I asked the question and it seems to be feasible. I'd like to test it but I don't want to mess anything yet because I don't have any backup at the time...
used Kingroot procedure on my Z1 around 5 days ago.......worked fine, came from stock LB 5.01 and now rooted, Superuser, Titanium, and xposed modules all working fine. No bootloops, no strange restarts. Couldn't be happier.
Could you describe precisely what you did? I'm really interested in that! (if that works with Locked Bootloader, everything stock and Lollipop that's a wonderful thing!)
Info: Kingroot will read your IMEI and for unknown reason IMEI will be sent to China server.

I would be interested too
Maybe someone to reverse engineer the kingroot method and make it to some easy one click root, without sending any IMEIs ? that would be awesome !

Bit of research here

Over a week now, no problems. No mystery reboots or freezing. Was able to install superuser, uninstall kingroot, even trying the experimental xposed, titanium and the dual recovery all working as expected.
Sent from my C6903 using XDA Free mobile app
We've had root on LB since the 4.2 days. I rooted my phone back then, and kept it ever since. Unlocked the BL for some time, locked again, no loss.
If you're not comfortable with some Chinese closed source app running on your phone and applying some undisclosed root method that they claim is used by "other Chinese apps that need to get root", just downgrade , root, and flash back LP. It's much safer IMHO.
Safer yeah but the amount of work on that method that needs to be done is huge. Atleast compared to kingroot method that takes a minute, another for installing superSU...
I am running stock 5.0.1 on my T-Mo Note 4, and the things horribly, awfully slow. It's glitchier than ever too. It randomly restarts and sometimes it's so slow my screen turns off before a menu appears after I click it. Also my phone reboots randomly! It's like a soft reboot, once it turns back on, I'm right where I left off.
Is anyone else experiencing this? I really wanted Lollipop but this is just the worst thing I have ever seen.
Any suggestions? I'm relatively new to the whole scene, but I got TWRP recovery installed, I know how to flash with odin (already bricked and un bricked my phone).
I miss Xposed, but the new xposed with lollipop and Touchwiz set up seems extremely daunting.
So my question is, should I go back to stock kitkat so I can use Xposed again, or is there a better custom rom?? I tried alliance, which really intrigued me but it got stuck at the boot screen (surprise).
I'd flash pop rocks 7x. Mega is doing an amazing job with issues such as yours. And you can run xposed with it.
Just follow the instructions in the op.

It's the first rom I flash for people. It's a great way to start and often my dd.
Wifi calling for 5.0.1 is super glitchy, every morning I wake up and wifi calling has reg99 or 82 error. Is there a ROM with working wifi calling and stable. Would like the double tap to wake option if there is such a rom for the tmobile note 4.

From battery to boot its all about a custom kernal in my opinion.
@jovy23 has a killler rom for the N4 Tmo. DarthStalker V2
If you wipe properly using twrp.
And flash emotion kern R16.
With synapse controller app.[emoji106]
Youll be blown away.[emoji41]
Even stock its one of the Most loaded and clean running Roms out on the market...
Nice built in themes as well..
If youd like to know good flashing procedures hit me on the Pm..

Agreed. He just released a new version 18, but the wifi calling is still under construction and working on r16
I used to have a rooted Lollipop stock rom and then got the gearvr and it didnt work until I re-flashed the un-rooted firmware again , this caused me to reinstall everything from scratch , now a friend suggested i should try un-rooting option found in KingUser or SuperUser whenever I needed to use Gearvr (untested , just a thought).
so anybody tried this ?
I just dont want to have to reinstall everything once more , its pretty much annoying
Thanks in advance
Gear VR is only usable with MM and up. My S7 is rooted and it works wonderfully
I use it on Lollipop without any trouble , it gives me 3 hours of un-interrupted game play. when i upgraded to MarshMallow i could hardly make it to 40 minutes and it heated up like crazy . so my problem was last time i rooted it got stuck at splash screen .
I couldnt get the oculus software to install on my Note 5 with the first firmware (OI6 maybe?) I was able to use Cardboard etc.
I'm using a MOAR custom MM 6.0.1 ROM (which your phone has to be rooted since it's custom, for people that don't know) and it hasn't stopped me from installing the oculus software and using it. BUT I am having issues with it freezing after calibration, videos not starting etc.
Not sure if it's related to custom ROM or MM, other people seem to be having the same problems. I think I'm having more problems with the USB connectivity, I turned off "USB debugging" and that solved a lot.
Kingroot worked fine on Lollipop version but as an OTA upgrade to Marshmallow happen, my LENOVO VIBE X4 was unrooted (so far so good...).
But there is noway anymore to make Kingroot working... After trying to look for an other option i must say that.... I should have stay on Lollipop...
Did somebody already experience this and/or start to work on it?
Even app like Airdroid doesn't work fine anymore...
GOOGLE starts to suck really....
Try flashing supersu with a custom recovery like cwm/twrp
