[q] uk retail (rtuk) firmware

First time opening a thread, if theres any mistake that I make please let me know...
I'm thinking of archieving the files for rooting, openrecovery and everything so in the future if my milestone got any problem, I can solve it if the source is not in the internet anymore. The problem is I already search the UK RETAIL (RTUK) in this forum but end up I only found dead links.
As example, in this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932196
Maybe because of the SOPA before that deletes the file...
So right now I'm totally hope that someone can help me by uploading the firmware to the internet. I really need it since I'm still using Motorola Milestone and the phone is splendid. Thanks in advanced...
Already archived for you. There was a point when the links on this site failed to work but it was all fixed a while ago.

Superb thanks, but can I ask u for another favor? I'm not a total techie person so which link should I download. Im from Malaysia and before this I did the process with my Milestone using the uk retail (rtuk) firmware so in the link given which one should I click to download? Hope you could help

One: its set to private, so we cant check it out anyway.
Two: if its Kingoroot dont even bother posting it here.
Otherwise id be happy to check it out, I have an old pc I use as a sandbox for anything shady, I let the viruses have it then just format and imge restore it periodically.

Its just KingoRoot.
The .exe has a different name, but it does the same thing: it tries to send info to another country, and it wont proceed with rooting unless you allow it internet access. Sandboxing it to a local network doesnt work either, it has to confirm contact with the mothership.
This same program is being promoted on forums and sites all over the net, it shows up with the name changed, even packed in zips with padding files so it shows as a different size. Someone is trying real hard to get this into wide distribution.

it just want to download drivers and so on.
however, here is ripped and repackaged kingoroot, anti-Ric included too : http://rghost.net/50376561
just unpack archive in any directory, enable usb debugging, install adb drivers, then run root.cmd
it looks like this stuff working on most ( if not all ) latest 4.x firmwares
Kingoroot....This has been removed before because of suspicious activity!

[urgent!!] c6943 roms!!!

As a C6943 owner, i'm very sad that i can't find any custom rom that is compatible with my model. As the difference between C6903 and C6943 is just the digital TV, i can flash a c6903 rom, but I will lose the digital tv feature.
I believe that to have this feature, a rom just need a framework module or something liek that, which don't seem to be hard to do... I'm not a dev and i don't know anything about creating roms.
So i ask for you developers to try and add this very important feature in your roms to all the C6943 owners!! PLEASE DEVS, HELP US!!
We will be very gratefull =)

Wrong Section..!! Post it in Q&A Section,
I posted it here because i had hope that some dev would give me some directions on how to do it. Would be nice to have like a .zip file to flash the TV modules. But i can post there too

No! You can't! Read rules and read titles of roms!
Yeah mate, rules are rules so please read them.
If I were you I would try to check which files are responsible for TV then I'll extract them (I believe it's only a minor diference, I really doubt Sony will make two different model for this).
Find someone who has same device and try to learn what you need to add to 6903 ROMs to have TV on it.
Then you can simply add those files from your stock ROM.
You can use all stock based ROMs because you can use your stock framework, semcgeneric, settings.apk and any other file from your, stock ROM.

Sorry about that.
That's exactly what i was thinking to do. I extracted the ftf files with flashtool and I'll try to look both c6903 and c6943 to find the files resposible for TV. Where would they be, system.sin or kernel?
Can someone with more dev experience pont me the way?
Probably /system/etc.
Not sure, Just maybe.

~J2C
I am looking for it, but there is nothing that i can relate to the tv. In settings->all apps, the tv is named as mobile tv, but i can't even find it on system/app. And that would be only the apk file. I think i'll have to find something in the firmware too.
Are you sure it wouldn't be in kernel? Aren't bluetooth, wifi, radio, etc. modules in kernel?

No, it's not related to kernel.
Try searching for the app's picture instead of reading the apk name.
And try to search in /system/priv-app as well.
And it's probably not just a apk, there probably is some other files that can be found somewhere else.

No, not working for me either. Also uk, but have tried changing language to US English but that didn't work. Others in the PE thread have the same problem.
You need to install HotwordEnrollmentOKGoogleHEXAGON & HotwordEnrollmentXGoogleHEXAGON as priv-app.
Download the apps(Do google) or copy from global rom then move them into /system/product/priv-app/.
(I tried to share my google drive link but I can't because I'm new. Sorry)

And now someone bought this website in 2020 and it's called Dev Insider, which is not really "Insider". Just some useless posts made in WordPress. We will miss you, d-h.st.
