I can't seem to get to the advanced screen to change exposure to manual since upgrading.
Any body else notice this?
Open camera > swipe right > click gear > advanced > manual exposure

Hi guys!
I have an issue with the auto-brightness setting, running on MiniCM 2.1.8
It simply does not work
Even if it is turned on, the backlight is extremely dim. Also, the phone does not react to any changes of the light setting.
The light sensor seems to be working, tested with a performance/benchmark tool from the Market.
And yes, I've tried the workaround described in the change log.
Indeed I tried all possible combinations.
Is this a known problem?
Can anyone propose a solution/workaround? Please help
1. enable autobrightness from Settings -> Display
2. enable Allow Light Decrease from Settings -> Cyanogenmod -> Display -> Automatic backlight
3. enjoy the great kernel and rom
Thank you for the hint!
However it does not help - this is the changelog workaround I tried first
I have been toggling all display settings (both generic and CM) but autobrightness never works.
Any other suggestions?
try to check Use customs Cyanogen settings - display - automatic backlight
if this does not help, just do a full wipe and check only automatic brightness from display and enable Allow Light Decrease from Settings -> Cyanogenmod -> Display -> Automatic backlight.
it should work. go near a light bulb and put your finger on the sensor (small circle in the upper right corner of the phone) and take it off and you should notice the difference
post the result here

Thank you!
After the full wipe it worked!
Before that I was also experiencing various issues (LED notification lights not working, clicking on a given setting would actually open completely different menu, restarts during phone calls) - let us hope that this will be all solved after the full wipe.
Quite interesting, because this was a fresh installation, say I full-wiped before I installed the ROM the first time, but who knows
Hi
When i take photos with my phone in superior mode there is a small yellow discoloration occurring...is there a way to sort this problem, i don't understand to use the manual mode its complicating....if anyone knows a link to help me to understand the manual mode i will be grateful...
Manual mode is the mode of the camera where you can change all the settings. You can set the following:
- SCN > Scene
- (looks like an Equalizer) > Light condition
- The bold > Flashlight toggle
- Rotation > Changing front and back camera
- Three dots > Other settings
These Other settings are:
Resolution of the camera (Stock 5MP.. You can change this if you want)
Selftimer > Take picture after a small amount of time without pressing any button
Smile shutter > Will take picture when a smile or laugh is detected
Focus mode > How and when will the camera focus
HDR > High Dynamic Range
ISO > Light sensitivity (Stock is auto but this can changed)
Metering > (got no idea)
Image stabilizer > Name says it all
Preview > Name tells function
Above settings are applied on camera and thus on the pictures
Some other settings:
Quick Launch > Change the way the app launches
Geotagging > Adding location to picture info
Touch Capture > Will take picture when screen is touched
Use volume keys as > Change function of volume keys (zoom or none or take picture)
Shutter sound > On or off
Data Storage > Where will the pictures be stored
You need to play with the settings to see what is the best way to take pictures.
Hey XDA lovers!
There's this minor annoyance that I'm facing. And with minor, I mean a First-World-Problem BIG annoyance.
You see, I never use the Superior Auto mode of the Xperia Z1. Instead I love shooting at Manual mode with ISO around 50 to 200. Superior Auto always cranks the ISO up to infinity, it seems. The fastest way for me to get to Manual Mode now, is through a shortcut I placed on my homescreen. So to shoot, I have to unlock the device, possibly press the home button, wait and click on the shortcut. The other option is to use the camera quick launch, press the button in the lower right corner before it freezes (happens too often) and then click Manual. Both are equally tiring, considering you can already launch the camera with one press of the shutter button!
So I'm asking the experienced modders on XDA: is there a way to redirect the quick launch shortcut to open the Manual Mode of the camera? Obviously this should require root, which isn't a problem. Is this idea even possible?
Thanks in advance for thinking with me! :cyclops:
(and while we're at it, is it even possible to place the ISO setting in the hotbar so it's just one click away instead of having to dig through the menu? Hmm, I suppose not)
I haven't found a way to do this yet. Manual mode possibly can't be launched with quick launch, but the 8MP can be modified to 15MP or 20MP in Superior Auto mode, with Xposed module called "20MP Superior Auto". In Xposed Installer, go to Downloads, and search this module. But to make it work, you have to enable it in Xposed Installer, select an appropriate option in "20MP Superior Auto" , and after restart, you have to check and uncheck an option in the superior auto setting (any option), and then the mod will work! I've got Xperia Z1C and it works, I tested (even with the 4k and 120FPS also).
Hope it helps !
Hi,
Is there any option to get manual focus in our Zuk Z1.
Tried CM modded Hal for getting manual focus. But no use
Use snap camera (also available on most CM based ROMs), enable advanced options (double or triple tap on red eye detection menu item[not sure if red eye or another menu item]) and disable zero shutter lag.
This way you can change the focus from continuous to auto focus. You can also tweak touch focus to hold to 3 to 5 seconds.

It's bright display where you have to touch several times to get advanced options
Yes - it has one.
Settings > Accessibility > Vision > High contrast screen
It doesn't affect as much of the UI as Samsung's official Dark Mode, but it gets close.
Enjoy!
