xposed Installation failed

I just installed Alliance rom on my att gs5. For some reason it won't let me install xposed framework. Help?

I have the same problem with gt-n8013 cyanogenmod rom

"It won't let me install Xposed framework" – how so? Any errors?

I can't submit a screenshot of the error because I don't have many posts. But it says "Failed to create a backup of /system/bin/app_process

There should be an error above/below that line as well? Have you tried installing Xposed via the recovery?

It's a big error. Its a lot to type but tldr it says permission denied. No, how do I do that?

Permission denied? Are you sure you're rooted (if you are, double check that the Xposed Installer is granted root permissions)?
You can install it via the recovery by changing the installation method (press the button).

I have no idea what I did but I tried to install it again and it worked so. Thanks for trying to help but its fixed now haha.

Having trouble with loading Netflix so discovered about the xposed fix for this problem. I tried to install xposed but got the "signature" error message which I believe tells me xposed is already installed. In my "apps", I do not have xposed listed as an installed app. Doing a file search, there are no hits on "xposed". I recently upgraded to latest Beanstalk 4.4.4. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

[Q] Apps not installing after installing xposed framework

So yesterday I installed xposed framework on my Moto G XT1033 5.0.2, after the process i tried installing some modules with no success, "App not Installed". I rebooted my phone and tried installing again, this time it got stuck on " installing...". I have tried to install using lucky patcher and it gave an error saying that some directory didn't exist.
Please help

In the installer logs section I have an error:

Hello, I also have the same problem with my Alcatel One Touch Fierce 2 running Android 4.4.2. I try to install the Xposed apk and its says "App not installed". Someone please help.

Hey there, did you find a solution for this problem since you posted this? I am experiencing this exact problem right now, it says that modules.list was not found in that directory. Framework is working, modules can be downloaded but not installed.

For an unknown reason I had the same issue. I was able to download and install from Xposed, and than one day it wouldn't allow me to press the "install button". Long story made short I was able to get it working by installing this app:

Hope that helps someone and saves them time trying to figure out what happened.

I've had this problem and the way that I do it is by disabling the exposed framework then rebooting, then it will allow you to install apps. After, activate the module, that re eneble xposed, and reboot!

I was having the same issue but i fixed it.
This might be because google get to know that the phone is modified thats why no apps get installed so the fix it that download GMS PROTECTED app from xposed download and inatall it. Activate it and reboot. And if you're unable to install then simply turn the framework off and install the module that I've mentioned above.after installing the module activate it,turn on the framework and reboot the fone. Bang.... You're good to go

Need help installing arm64 sdk23 on HTC10. Installed but currently not active.

My goal is to successfully install the Xposed framework on the HTC10. I have a stock RUU ROM, unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP recovery, and rooted it with Supersu with force encryption per Rootjunky.com videos on YouTube. Specifically, I'm using the xposed-v86-sdk23-arm64.zip, SuperSU-v2.71-forceencrypt_v2, TWRP-3.0.2-6-pme. Then I proceeded to install the Xposed framework and APK. It flat out dosesn't work. the Bin folder and log folders are empty and I receive "The latest version of Xposed is currently not active. Did you install the framework and reboot?" I have verified my root is working with a number of other apps. I have tried resolved the issue by executing the methods listed in this article: Can't post links yet cause I'm a noob. And they didn't work. I have completely wiped my device internal and external and tried rerooting and reinstalling and I still get the same result. I also have tried installing older version of the Xposed framwork. I have spend days troubleshooting it and I can't figure it out. No matter what I get the Currently not active.
Some of my reading points to the SE Linux Mode being set to "Enforcing" being the culprit as to why it is not working. I have no idea what this is. However, I can confirm that mine is set to Enforcing despite me executing all three steps in the aforementioned article. I installed that lean kernel so it should be set to permissive I would think but Device Control app shows otherwise.
When I click on Logs in the the Xposed Installer, it says Could not read log /data/data/de.robv/android/xposed.installer/log/error.log. I can confirm that it is installing something because the DE.ROBV.ANDROID.XPOSED.INSTALLER directory is there. And all of the sub directories are present. But bin and log directories are empty which I find odd. I would expect to see many files in there especially the Bin folder.
Any ideas how to resolve this without a log file? I'm sure the HTC10 is arm64 so that shoudn't be the issue. any ideas why this isn't installing correctly? Is it the SE Linux Mode? Do I need to S-Off of something? Any help appreciated!

I've created the UpdateEngine Interface, a tool to install OTAs that haven't been assigned to your device. It talks to Android's update_engine binary to flash the block-based updates just the way the original updater does, ensuring that your data is preserved and your system partition's signature doesn't change.
TLDR: It allows you to install Oreo without using someone else's TWRP backup or losing data.
Now has the latest build (20th December)
Installation:
Install Magisk
Install the attached Magisk module (named UpdateEngine_1.2.zip) and reboot
Open the newly installed UpdateEngine app and press start
Wait for the installation to complete and restart your device to boot into Android O
If you wish to update to the latest beta, use Magisk to install UpdateEngine_1.3.zip afterwards
Note: If you're a FlashFire user, please uninstall it and reboot before continuing.
Note #2: You must install Oreo via v1.2 before installing the latest beta (via v1.3).

Yeah. It requires that the system hasn't been modified since the December OTA (just like the original updater) since the updates are applied block-by-block.

Which beta does it have currently? THE first one or newer?

I'm looking into adding this -- the only problem is that it also requires a bit of metadata (which is inconvenient to type manually). I'll look into defining a format which the app can read directly.

It doesn't seem to be working for me. When I press Start, it opens FlashFire app & nothing happens. Even if I come back to this app, there will two buttons Pause & Stop, but nothing will be happening. Also can you please make it open source?

That's weird -- can you please post the logcat outputs after this happens (maybe after restarting and trying again)?
I'm sure that it's something with flashfire since the app doesn't use it or depend on it.
I'm definitely going to open-source this after I fix a few hacks I made to get the initial version working.

Any chance of posting your work to github? would be interesting to see the source if possible

I keep getting a crash when i press start, then the app won't open again until I reboot and even then no download... am i missing something?

I think you need to add the read/write premission to your app. not sure how its working for others
EDIT 2: Selinux is denying your app.. had to use a selinux disabler app to get it not to crash... might want to look into that..

Even via twrp recovery is no possible to flash magisk modules, says something like error 1.
The device is a doogee mix 2.
I was forced to install the normal xposed framework just to use it.
Root works; only modules have problems.
Can some expert find a solution, please?

Known issue on some MTK devices. Loop mounting doesn't work.
There are lots of reports like this for Doogee... There's been some investigating into it in the beta thread, but as of yet there's no solution, I believe.

In more, yesterday I had another annoying problem with magisk: before the options of the magisk app disappeared (there is the pic in the folder I attached. Then magisk is totally disappeared: magisk is not installed anymore in your device.
Tried to re-install magisk: nothing happens.
I have re-flashed the ROM and re- installed magisk: at moment is working.
Root files and SuperSU are not working.

Looks like recovery can't decrypt /data, so that's likely an issue there. But it'd be easier to tell if you had provided the recovery log rather than a screenshot (Advanced - Copy log after trying to flash).
And, it would also be very useful if you had provided a Magisk log rather than only installation logs.
But, it's probably a moot point anyway. Like I said earlier, this is a known issue with loop mounting on Doogee devices (and other devices using Mediatek). No solution as of yet...

Before I must understand why magisk disappears from system, then I will collect logs about modules installation. Magisk is the only way to root this damned phone, SuperSU does not works.

There was no need to start a new thread about that... You've already got this one going.
The screenshot of the Manager you provided simply showed a Manager without internet access. Completely normal.
About losing root completely, make sure you don't have any aggressive battery optimisation on the Manager. More here:

Make sure the Manager is removed from Battery optimisation and that it isn't selected I'm Greenify. It's not certain that this is the issue, but it's worth ruling out.
Other than that, a logcat of it happening, or even just a screenshot of the Manager when things aren't working. A Magisk log is also useful, of course.

I hope that at least the root will work.
But I seen in another thread that there is a solution known as f2fs workaround bug fixer. But is still not working. I hope that someone will fix it soon.

I made also the this attempt: I have flashed a magisk module using flashify.
The flashing was successful, but the module is not in the magisk list.
Can be a permission problem? Someone knows where is the folder of installed magisk modules, please? Perhaps is a permission problem and changing permissions will work...

Download f2fs-loopback-bug-workaround-2018.1.31.zip from the thread. Place it in Download folder of internal storage. Reboot to recovery. Flash zip in twrp. Reboot. Open magisk manager. F2FS Loopback Bug Workaround should be installed in modules. I hope any module can be installed from now on.

Do you know if there's a fix already? I'm on ext4 so f2fs loopback makes no sense for me

I've got exactly the same error with flashing modules, after clean flask is possible to install modules but after 1 reboot it fails
