So ok first i was running cyanomod 13 on it with twrp installed then i tried to root by getting a super user from a site they told me to just go into twrp and flash the zip with the super user to my kindle and ill be rooted thats what i did and after that i pressed reboot system and thats where the bootloop problem started. So it just shows kindlefire logo for about 20-25 sec then it goes black and comes back up again and this just keeps on repeating and so i cant access twrp to load my backup and my pc dosent recognize it when i plug it in. I also tried to do a hard reset that didnt work either.
Any suggestions on how to get this fixed?????? help needed....
i was told that i could buy a fastboot cable and that will bring it to fastboot then i could use a program to wipe and restore it but havent order it yet so any other ideas in the meanwhile?????
Hi, I think you might have to side load stock firmware and start over, it's the only method I found out there, Boot into bootloader, download the stock firmware and use Android development tool to install your stock, and start your same rooting process all over, hope this helps it's my first post.

You don't need to wipe your data or reinstall Amazon's OS. Do you have the CM13 ROM somewhere on your hard drive?

Apologies for the late reply - I've been busy with schoolwork lately. Anyway, all you need to do is copy the boot.img file within the ROM zip to an accessible folder on your machine (the desktop works, too), boot the kindle into fastboot with fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product, and then run fastboot -i 0x1949 flash boot path/to/boot.img to flash the image. Then just run fastboot -i 0x1949 reboot to reboot the device afterwards, and it should work after that.

KINDLE FIRE HD ONLY!!! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
I put together this tool for those that have tried to modify their system unsuccessfully and bricked their device. You must be able to get your device into fastboot for this to work. The easiest way is to purchase a factory cable or make your own(a $15 purchase or a little bit of your time is better than a bricked device).
The .img's in this tool were made from a rooted device w/ the su binary in place. There is no need to re-root your device, however if you choose to erase cache and user data(not necessary but may be a good idea) you will need to re-install Superuser.apk to gain root.
Instructions:
1.) Download the version you want to use from the link below and unzip.
2.) Enable fastboot mode. Turn off your device then plug into your pc using a factory cable. If the device is recognized by adb then you can use this command:
Code:
adb shell su -c "reboot bootloader"
3.) Run the SR Tool.bat and follow the instructions. If you wish to downgrade system versions see instructions at the bottom of the post.
Downloads:
KFHD_SRT_v1.3.5- 7.3.0 (seperate option for restoring factory recovery)
KFHD_SRT_v1.3.0- 7.2.3 (separate option for restoring factory recovery)
KFHD_SRT_v1.2.3- 7.2.3
KFHD_SRT_v1.2- 7.2.1
KFHD_SRT_v1.0- 7.1.5
I apologize for the size of this tool. The .img files used are rather large. If you want to use your own backup .img then download the lastest version of this tool from here. Just place your system.img inside images folder. It must be named system for option 1 or system2 for option 2
UPDATES:
4/20/13
-separate option to restore factory recovery and boot now on v1.3.0
4/17/13
-KFHD_SRT_v1.3.5
-flashing boot and recovery images now a separate option
3/21/13
-KFHD_SRT_v1.3.0
-boot and recovery images inlcuded
-SuperSU and GoogleServicesFramework now included as system apk's
12/22/12
-KFHD_SRT_v1.2.3
-System v7.2.3
-New option for installing Googleservicesframework.apk
12/17/12
-downgrade method instructions(confirmed)
12/1/12
-KFHD_SRT_v1.2
-new system partition backups for software v7.2.1
-vending.apk to phonesky.apk for newest version of play store
Instructions for downgrading to 7.2.1:
1.) Download boot and recovery imgs(these are backus from 7.2.1) from this LINK and place in the folder where you have access to fastboot or inside the KFHD_SRTool_v1.2 folder
2.) Use KFHD_SRTool_v1.2 to flash system.img.
3.) Erase userdata and cache
4.) Open a cmd prompt from the folder where you placed the previously downloaded .img's.
Use these cmds:
Code:
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash boot boot.img
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash recovery recovery.img
5- Reboot.
Those who deserve our thanks:
kinfauns for the how to on backing up and restoring system software.
bazm60 for confirming the method above works.
hellocali626 for bringing to my attention the need to flash boot and recovery images for downgrade.

Sounds like you need to install the correct drivers. Download and install the driver from this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1890413
If that still doesnt work follow the directions from this one:

My Kindle lost root.. So I downloaded and installed a super user... not sure what version off hand...
But its still not rooted.
I originally chose the option for the factory restore with root, Google Play Store, and the launcher.. And it was rooted for a couple of days.. I'm not sure if it lost root during reboot or not.
On a side note, it also no longer allows me to access storage through my PC. So I've been having to download everything straight to the Kindle.. Not sure if that matters... But I can't back it up because I can't save the backup files to my PC..
Any suggestions? Do I need to clear cache and dalvik for superuser to work? I've been hesitant to go into recovery mode..
Did it auto update to 7.5.1? That would explain why you lost root.

Yes! Can I downgrade? And how to stop the update?
Or better yet I'll poke around to see about rooting 7.5.1..
Its my son's, so while I've flashed my android devices a billion times, this Kindle is a whole other thing...sorry for the questions..
You can either downgrade and then block auto update (look for threads with otacerts) or root 7.5.1. I believe the binary method still works.
OK I was able to get it back to 7.3.0...and even flashed it twice and cleared cache and user data...
But now the wifi won't turn on. I tried to click on ...nothing..
Is there a wifi fix I'm unaware of?
Try pushing the recovery only to it.
Please help!
Help me.
I can't unzip any zip-files downloaded from google Drive as Links about.
As links about?

What about if i'm using a fastboot cable, and when i type adb devices or fastboot devices it still doesn't show up? I have the drivers installed for the fastboot cable but it just never shows up. Kindle Fire HD 7" overhaul
I tried to post this as a reply to "how to downgrade kindle fire hd" thread but as I'm a newb here, I was redirected to this thread. So here it goes...
I have a 2012 Kindle Fire HD 7" serial starting with D025, running firmware 7.5.1. I successfully rooted the device with the bin4ry method thanks to all the helpful members here. I am interested in getting TWRP loaded as well as flashing maybe a Cyanogen ROM. I haven't looked into the ROM's too much as I'd like to get TWRP on first... baby steps haha... So I saw instructions for getting TWRP on devices with firmware up to 7.4.8 or somewhere around there but nothing higher. Next step is to downgrade the Kindle to an older firmware. I have ordered SkOrPn's Factory Cable, should be here in a day or 2.
So onto the questions:
1. In this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254 I see a list of system.img files to downgrade to. Does it matter which one I choose if I am going to be flashing Cyanogen ROM?
2. My next steps are to follow the instructions on that thread by plugging in the cable, run the adb command, run the SR Tool, follow instructions, and then on the bottom of the original post in that thread, it gives instructions for downgrading to 7.2.1. I take it those directions apply for any of the versions downgrading to?
This is where I am kind of lost as to what I am supposed to do from here. I am not sure what the SR tool accomplishes or intends to accomplish and the Factory Cable seems to be most often used as an "unbricking" device. I am not bricked, just looking to downgrade so as to get TWRP and Cyanogen. If there is an easier way for me to get TWRP and Cyanogen running without the downgrade or all this hullabaloo then I would be delightfully surprised.
So any help would be much appreciated
stuck on Fastboot
Hello, I definitely have a Kindle Fire HD 7 2012 and I do NOT yet have a factory cable, but it seems like the tool is working with my regular cable. When I use 1. Restore-Factory Rooted with SuperSU.apk my cmd screen tells me sending 'system' (907264 KB). . . OKAY (317.060s) writing 'system' . . . OKAY (72.750s) finished. total time: 389.821s
Even though I have erased cache and userdata, Factory Recovery, and Reboot normally I still am stuck on the FastBoot screen..
any suggestions ?

KFHD 7'' is not a KFHD 7'' 2013 KFSOWI ... bootloop fixed
I got a bootlooped kindle from someone and thought it was a KFHD 7'' it took me forever and quite a few attempts to fix and fails to discover it is a KFHD 7'' 2013 KFSOWI which it totally different. notable markings are no camera and angled edges on the back. also if you get to the point of running fastboot you will know as "getvar product" will return "soho-pvt-prod-07" instead of "tate-xxx-xxxx-xx"
i wanted to thank Red_81 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254&page=23 who pointed me to the Kindlesuite guys which led me to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2685090&page=4 and the fantastic Firerooter tool it is super easy to use and does everything for you even has great help in it about updating the adb drivers etc.
just make sure you really have a 2013 KFSOWI version. i previously had it bootlooping, then red screen (when i used the KFHD SRT many times), and finally after trying Firerooter a couple of times got the dang thing working again. I ended up installing the 11.4.x then 11.3.x and wiping user data. I about fell out of my chair when I finally got a screen. So dont give up. I also had to get a fastboot cable.
I have bricked my Kindle Fire HD 7" 2nd Gen. The device is stuck in what i would assume is a boot loop. I am wondering if someone can confirm if the KFHD SRT is compatible with my device and could possibly unbrick it. Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I could not tell what versions the kindle were supported from the original thread. Hi everybody
I've been running a rooted kindle fire hd for about a year with cyanogenmod and no problems. Tonight I downloaded the latest nightly update installed it with TWRP and re booted fine.
I kept getting google play services errors so decided to factory reset and clean everything up. Now I cannot get past the teamwin boot logo.
I see the orange kindlefire, blue kindlefire, then the teamwin logo flashes every 5 seconds.
Any ideas on how to recover this?
I posted this in standalone thread about a week ago, I've since bought a fastboot cable, which doesnt have any effect. I see Kindle fire on my PCs device manager so thinking there must be some sort of communication between the 2. Stuck with where to go now though. I know of at least 2 other people that have posted the same problem.
Regards
KP

Hi,
I am trying to get CM11 on my Fire HD tablet (Tate). I started following the tutorial (http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_tate) .
I went through all of the parts in step three but it says "If all has gone well, then your device should now be in recovery." My device does not go into recovery. The following step is an ADB push but that is not possible because I am still in the fastboot window.
A reboot brings me into an infinite boot loop which says Kindle Fire.
Any ideas what I should do? For the record, I think I had version 7.4.3
EDIT: I have the factory cable which allows me to get into Fastboot
Might be able to help.
i have 2 ideas that might work.
idea 1 will only work if you can see the blue kindle logo.
1) turn off device then turn back on (Reboot it xD)
2)When on the yellow logo hold the power up button (The one furthest away from the power button)
3)let go of it until the blue logo comes on
4)You should be in recovery now
if you are in recovery then just flash stock cm11
idea 2
1)Download this https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B4lZEJI5lYeMb1g5bW9tQW00LUE&export=download
2)go back into fastboot
3)Then open SRtoold.bat
4)select option 1
5)When that is done select option 4
6)Reboot device then it should boot up back into stock and you could try to flash cm11 again
Make sure you select option 4 after option 1 i did not do it (there was no tutorial on how to fix the problem i had so i did not know that i had to do it until i broke my kindle) if you don't you will stay in a boot loop i can not fix it because i do not have a way to get back into fastboot if you could send me a link to where you bought the factory cable that would be nice unless you made it yourself or you used adb to get into fastboot if so then unfortunately you need to buy a fastboot cable but i am unsure on which one to buy.
Edit: Just read the bottom of your post you do have a fastboot cable so you are fine.

OK. I actually was able to put FireOS back on it but I am having trouble putting CM on it. I downgraded to 7.2.1 but that's as far as I got last night.
I'll try again tonight if I have some time.

sorry for late reply but if you haven't fixed it by now then sometimes if you wait and leave your device on it will upgrade to the latest FireOs then after you can get TWRP again and CM.
Edit: I don't think there is any way of getting TWRP without upgrading because i think the whole reason you go into a bootloop was because TWRP does not support That Version Of FireOS

Download that then open it up then whilst connected to ur pc and in fastboot type 2 then after that is done type 3 then 4 reboot the device and with in a couple of your kindle will start acting weird just restart it and it should be the latest Kindle Version There is no way of telling how long it will take to download i would wait until the kindle acts weird or after an hour reboot after its rebooted ur kindle will keep rebooting for a while (Maybe once)
I'm very glad to find this fresh thread! So I'm having pretty much the same problem. I have a Kindle Fire HD 7" (tate). It has never been rooted. Recently, I tried booting it after the battery ran very low, and it quit booting properly, instead it's doing the infinite logo "bootloop".
Fortunately, having a fair bit of Android experience, I own a Fastboot cable! So, I do have fastboot access, but no adb access.
Thus, I tried using fastboot -i 0x1949 oem idme bootmode 4000, as well as various versions of KFHD_SRTv1.x.x. (and various combinations of 7.2.1, 7.3.5, and 7.4.9 stock firmwares) (I'm unsure what version of firmwares was originally running.) Unfortunately, nothing has worked.
Is it possible that Amazon has blocked the ability to unbrick the bootloader, or that I need some other firmware version? I'm fine with recovering using custom firmware/recovery, but without ABD access, it seems my options are limited. Any advice?
It sounds like you're battery is too low to get a full boot. You may want to leave it on the charger overnight

First off (and most importantly), do not download builds from the TWRP website. This device (tate) isn't officially supported, and it's highly likely that an incompatible build will brick the kindle.
That being said, a TWRP 3.0 port isn't completely impossible. I'll see what I can do in a couple days once I have access to a working build computer.
As for upgrading TWRP, there should be a recovery .zip that you can flash directly in TWRP. If there isn't one, there will more than likely be a recovery image that you can flash via fastboot (or even via TWRP itself, in recent versions!).

Okay. I know that. It has been recently released. Well let's see what happens...
2.8.7.0 is perfect, there is no real reason to improve to version 3.0.
But, yes I want twrp 3.0 for Tate, because why not?
TWRP update

You're going to need a fastboot cable (or make one). I just had the same bootloop, but for a different reason. I found a fastboot cable on ebay for about $4. Totally worth it. Once you get into fastboot, you can push the boot.img for your rom and get back to where you were.

fastboot cable
Are you sure this would help?
What do I have to do with the cable when i get it?
Thanks for your answer

Here's how @r3t3ch helped me. It may get you moving in the right direction. Just substitute the CM13 for whatever rom you are currently running.
""The command "fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product" will wait until fastboot sees your device; using "fastboot -i 0x1949 devices" will also tell you if it sees anything, but exits immediately without waiting. If windows shows the device as "Tate" under unrecognized devices in device manager and you know fastboot is already installed, do right click>update driver>browse computer>let me pick>android composite interface. Since you know you soft bricked by flashing supersu, once you get the cable and fastboot mode working, you just have to extract the boot.img file from the cm13 zip and flash it using "fastboot -i 0x1949 flash boot boot.img" then "fastboot -i 0x1949 reboot oem recovery" then power cycle the device. I recommend waiting for the cable since making one is a PITA especially if your donor cable is cheap and doesn't have easy to access pin outs.""
He'll definitely need a fastboot cable, but those instructions are to reflash boot. If he tried flashing an incompatible twrp to recovery, he'll want to do what I mentioned here. Followed by "fastboot -i 0x1949 reboot oem recovery" and power cycle he should end up in twrp and be able to recover anything from there.

You da man!
Ok..so here's the situation. I was going to install a new ROM ( my son got a new phone a iphone ) but any ways. As I was in TWRP i did everything we all normally do but the phone died mid flashing GAPPS. when i went to pulg the phone to the charger and restart the phone i see that it started to boot up the it jumped straight to FASTBOOT and it's stuck. I can toggle through fastboot but that is it. when i go to restart it will show the boot animation but then goes to fast boot. it wont go to TWRP nothing. I've combed XDA and found the multi tool but don't think that is working or i might be using it wrong. the computer doesn't recognize the phone. im trying to get this phone back up and going and give to my daughter . any help is greatly appreciated. thank you in advacne.
Here's what I'm talking about just in case someone asks
Try installing a stock factory image from fastboot.

How...I can't get my computer to recognize the phone... When I plug it in it doesn't read it...I should have the drivers already installed...adb push right.... I'll search for the command to see if it finds the phone
adb never works in fastboot mode. You'll have to use the fastboot command.
On the PC, try
fastboot devices
to see whether the phone is available. If not, check your drivers - I believe that fastboot uses a different USB driver.
With fastboot, you can't install zip-files, only image files. So download the stock factory image, not the OTA.
