Wrong Icons, C900 to C432 has failed, I'm confused, any Ideas? - Huawei P9 Plus Questions & Answers

Hello,
i have a news P9 Plus. There was a branded firmware installed. I have flash a C432-Firmware, but after flashing i have the C900-Cust. Then i have unlock the bootloader und rooted the device. With the SRK Tool i have change the oeminfo. The program shows "done". After a reboot, i have still the C900-Cust...
After a further flashing, i have these strange Icons:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It doesn't matter if i flash over *#*#2846579#*#* or with Force Update (Vol + and Vol - and Power), nothing changes. Does somebody still have an idea?
My targets:
- a P9 Plus with C432-Cust and Firmware
- Bootloader locked und non-rooted

Seems to me Theme related!

This can be possible. But i can't change the theme. I want to change the cust C900 to cust C432 (Europe).

When u flash the C432 firmware u must flash the hw folder to, if u use SrkTool Huawei there is a option to flash HW folder in the tool then your icons will be normal.

Whats wrong about the C900? What is the advantage runnig the c432?

Ok thx you, i have tried this yesterday, but nothing happens, the tool cancel the process with message system/bin/sh su not found, something like this, so i think, root is required?
But when i try to install TWRP Tool, i get the following error message: recovery (Command not found) <- So i stuck on this problem.
What ive done is:
1. Unlock Bootloader
2. Install TWRP
3. Root the Device
4. Utilities -> 9 Change oeminfo zu C432 Europe

Ok first success
I have unlook the bootloader again (even if the phone says bootloader unlock -> it was still locked ), and then the phone startet TWRP tool, in the tool ive installed the superuser.zip... with success. Now the device is booting but looks not nice, then i tried what you've said, utilities and option 12... now a super user dialog opened on the phone, i grant access. (Before the error appears) The device rebootet and tadaaa, looks nice and the Design App is working now :good::good::good:
After oem info, you have to unlook your bootloader again, and then everything is working, thanks for help!

Hi everyone... I'm from Colombia and I got a P9PLUS... original build number "VIE-L29 C605B131". I made one awful mistake, tried to install a firmware for another country on my phone (Don't remember the exactly number, I believe was a c636). Everything was fine until I went to my phone's info and realize that the new build number was "VIE-L29 C900B160".
The thing is, when I try to install another firmware, can happens 2 things... 1, It goes well and install it as normal, but the build STAYS THE SAME.... 2, It just won't accept it.
Tried to install the original version for my country when android N came to it, but even this just wont install, it goes to like 35-39% and says something like "install error, please go to emui......(a web page)"
Really dunno what to do... can somebody PLEASE help me? Thanks for your attention y'all.

New Update for ALE-L21 (ALE-L21C432B170)

as the downspeed from huawei is rly crappy i upped the new update.zip here - http://d-h.st/tpZz - ive got the ALE-L21 dualsim kirin variant no sim lock bought it in a store and not via any provider
i myself havent flashed it yet cause i dont have the time to play around with it
as said before its the ALE-L21C432B170 release as im living in austria central europe and as native german speaker it should be for this region
Be AWARE im not responsible for any damage on your phone if you flash this update.zip
as im rooted and have twrp running i cant flash it via twrp cause twrp cant mount the cache will try the fastboot method in the afternoon if somebody had success with fastboot method or any other method plz let me know
any suggestions regarding flashing this update would be nice
if youre not rooted and dont run twrp u can try to copy the update.zip to your internal memory dir "HwOUC" and try to update via the emui update tab in your settings
if this was helpfull dont forget to hit the thx button
The udpdate to B170 is possible only from B046, B052 and B132. NOT from B136!!!
How can the update be done from B136?
Downgrade to B052, B046.
OTA update also not available?

Have you got a link for B132? Dual Sim present at this version? Flashing by using Update.app on sdcard? Has anyone tried flashing back from B136 to B132 yet?
Thanks
Hello,
Also have ALE-L21...B133, and received the B171 update.zip, and i also have root and twrp recovery.
I suppose you can't just install the zipfile with twrp, or can i. Or is someone gonna create a package which we can install with twrp? thanks.
When i install the update through TWRP i get an error. So that method doesn't work.
Sorry for my double-post, but I would like to add this information here also.
I can not update my phone from b133 to b171 (ota). The update stops around 4% with an error and I have to restart the phone. Phone is not rooted or unlocked. I have set the phone to factory defaults but it doesn't help, also tested it with and without an SD card. Does anyone recognize this update problem or do I have to wait for huawei to fix this (maybe) broken update package?
Thank you!

Great, I also contacted Huawei for this error. I found on Facebook that this release was scheduled for November and maybe released to soon. Lets wait then.

Guess its gonna be dropping again at some point today.

Guide - Unlock Bootloader/TWRP/Root Huawei P9 Lite

Hi guys !
So after many tries on my Huawei P9 Lite, i successfully manage to do all the things we wants ! I never wrote tutorials so please don't be rude on me
Works on : VNS-L21 and VNS-L31
Requirements :
- Huawei Driver installed ( Can be done by installing Hisuite from Here )
- Unlocked Bootloader ( IT WILL DO A FACTORY RESET SO SAVE YOUR DATA BEFORE )
- SRKTool Huawei ( I've re-ziped it with P9 lite recovery, get it Here )
- TWRP Recovery File ( Included in SRKTool Huawei )
- Flashable SuperSu STABLE Zip ( Get it Here )
1. Unlock the Bootloader
To unlock the bootloader, without any tools, i used the huawei website !
Here is the address : LINK (Chinese version because the English one is offline at the moment, create an account if asked to !)
/!\ Save your data before doing anything ! Unlocking your bootloader will do a factory reset !
Now fill all the informations like this :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
We get our Unlock Code for Booloader, write it somewhere !
Now we must activate the OEM Unlock option on your phone, go under Settings/Developer Options and tick the "Enable OEM unlock" option. In the same menu check if USB Debbuging mode is enabled, if not do it !
Connect your phone to your computer !
Then unzip the SRKTool Huawei somewhere and launch the application ( srktoolHuawei )
Do like the Following pics !
Press Enter twice:
Select Option 1 and press Enter
Are you sure to continue ? Y
Do you have bootloader ? Of course we do ! ( The one we wrote somewhere, you remember ? )
Now your phone will reboot in Fastboot Mode :
Press Enter (again)
Write your Bootloader Code and press Enter (again !)
Would you like to continue ? Of course !
Here we go ! If you carefully followed the instructions your Bootloader is unlocked ! (Mine says Failed because it's already Unlocked ! )
2. Install TWRP !
Okay now i'll tell you how i installed TWRP in the P9 Lite ! Like i said at the start of the tutorial, i provided SRKTool Huawei with the right recovery not the one given with the utility, ( For the scecptical, i used a TWRP version for the HUAWEI G9 Youth (Chinese version of the P9 Lite))
So connect your phone to your computer and start SRKTool Huawei, Press Enter until you got the main Menu !
Select the Option 3 Install Recovery !
We got the Huawei P9, so choose it !
We want to install TWRP, Option 2 and press Enter !
Are you sure ? I guess we do ! So Y
It will reboot your phone in fastboot mode !( And if you've done everything right, you'll see PHONE Unlocked and FRP Unlock on your screen phone ) Press Enter again !
Wait a bit, and voila ! TWRP should be installed !
Press Enter and your Phone will reboot in system mode !
Now to reboot your phone in Recovery Mode, turn it off and start it by pressing Volume Key Up + Power ! This TWRP version is in Chinese but you can change the language in TWRP Itself !
2.1 Change the TWRP Language !
Now you're in TWRP in Chinese, we better want the English version !
1.
2.
3.
4.
3.Install SuperSU
Boot your phone in normal mode and plug it to your computer, download the SuperSU STABLE zip from HERE (don't extract it)
Now put the zip file on your sdcard, unplug your phone, turn it off and reboot into Recovery Mode ( Volume Up key + Power )
Click Install
Select your SDCARD if it's not selected by default ! Select Storage -> MicroSD Card -> OK
Then choose the ZIP file you've put in your SD Card ! And Swipe to install it ! Reboot aaaaand
Voila ! Your Huawei P9 Lite is finally Rooted with Custom Recovery and Unlocked Bootloader ! Enjoy it !
( Warning ! You'll maybe get a message when you boot your phone, saying you that it is not trusted and insecure anymore, thanks google, don't worry it's just because it's unlocked and rooted ! )

This is bulls...t. The problem for rooting this device is finding a working twrp recovery file. You did not provide the certain file cause it doesn' exist yet. Bootloader unlock and a flashable SU file has already been established.

I used DC unlocker for obtaining the unlock code, cause I didn't want huawei to give excuses if I need my warranty. It cost me 4 euros but I think I think it's worth it for safely relocking the phone.
No worries ! I'm glad my tutorial helped you !

Btw the TWRP built in Rooting feature works too. Is there a reason you recommend downloading a separate zip for root?

Hallo , waiting to receive my microsd card to try it ^^.
Question :For warranty , can the bootloader be re-locked if needed later on ?
Warranty of huawei its a bit unclear .Here-- locally--- they say "it's voided" .
But in the site they say its' voided IF malfunction is CAUSED BY Rooting.

its still 132.... you wont be able to flash sane version of firmware. if it was newer it would be b134 or 141 etc, not 132.
The "new" B132 is rollback update(firmware) to Android 6.0 (Found in changelog). Maybe its little "signal" to us that Android 7.0 (Official) is coming.
Do you have NEM-L21? Then how did you get work NFC? I have NEM-L21C432B132, but I think my device have not NFC (I think L21 has fingerprint, and L51 has NFC but no fingerprint)

theres no nfc, update doesnt change anything. you cant have nfc as theres no nfc chip installed inside phone. you can buy external nfc gadget i think since NEM-L21 has OTG support.
Could it be a roll back from nougat to marshmallow build?

Yes, it's the same version, still, no emui 5.0 yet for your model.

From C900 to C432

Hi, I have a Honor 5C. I found a guide on hihonor forum for downgrading from Nogaut to MM, everything went, but if I go in the info it says "model number hi6250" and build number "NEM-C900B151", which are not mine. How do I put the NEM-L51C432B130 ROM I had before?
dont use hihonor next time... you should have extracted uödate.aöp f4om B100 and flawh wit with 3 buttons....
What can I do now? Nothing?

try correct B100 update.app thru 3 buttons.... if this doesnt work try flashing recovery etc thru adb and then try 3 buttons. that should do it. make sure all files are correct ones, messing with recovery can lead to hard brick.

I've already tried flashing the B120 and the B130 but it does not work. The only way is to put the TWRP? And since my phone is now recognized as "hi6250" there may be problems?

Similar thing happened to me from messing about flashing different recoveries and roms. Went from c432 to c900. The only difference is that c432 is European region and c900 is global. It worked fine all the while it was showing c900 but I just put the update.app from b130 in dload folder on sd card and used 3 button method. You lose all your data but we all do backups-you too I'm sure, so no problems there.
Sent from my NEM-L51 using XDA Labs
In the next day try with unlock bootloder and TWRP. It's the only way.
Do you think this rollback Russian (screen) and then the c432, can I solve it?

i found many users that have this problem but no solution
That's even worse
I really understand your problem, I spent hours and hours finding a solution, and I managed to find it, and it's not that hard.
1. Download Firmware Finder via Google Play Store.
2. Open it, swipe to the right, and tap on settings.
3. Tap on Use proxy to install. It will ask you to download another app, go ahead and do it.
4. Now go back to Firmware Finder and tap on "Add model", and then input the model you have without the Bxxx firmware number.
5. Tap on the model number in the main menu, and select the B351 firmware that is 2.01GB in size. You will see "FullOTA-MF-PV" under it. This is crucial for the update to be successful.
6. Now tap on "Get an update through proxy"
7. Go to your WiFi settings, press and hold on your network and go to Modify
8. Now, go to Advanced Options and enter a manual proxy. The adress is "localhost" and the port is "8.8.8.8"
9. Now, go to your Updater and download the firmware as a regular update.
10. You should be good to go! If the update hangs, go ahead and delete the proxy, and the update will finish. The nice thing is that it doesn't affect your data!
Hope it helped!

What is the best way to unlock the bootloader?

Hi there,
I recently found my Honor 9 lite LLD-L31.
I want to be able to remove some software and also have the ability to install a custom rom.
After searching, I found several bootloader unlock solutions, however, I don't know which ones are reliable.
If possible, I would like to do it easily and for free.
Here are the different solutions found:
- HCU customer (link) -> 19€
- ministry of solutions (link) -> 15€
- Potato NV (link)
- Kingo Root
- Towelroot
What method do you recommend?
Finally I noticed the FRP lock, is it a bootloader unlock issue?
Thank's

1. HCU-client (4euros) - but you have to downgrade to EMUI 8 via HiSuite and then downgrade to the build number with google patches april - june 2018 via dload method
2. PotatoNV
- King Root and Kingo Root doesn't work on android 7 and above
- Napkin Root - ???

Okay, download service ROM
Link
Unpack, find dload folder in "Software" folder. copy the dload folder (without unpacking it !) to the root directory of the SD card. Turn off the phone, press and hold Power and both Volume buttons .
With .132 you should be able to use hcu-client.
Gerat
I will use update with *#*#2846579#*#*, it's OK ?
Thank's your help.
I test that

Hello,
I did not understand this sentence, but I still tried to move forward
1) I successfully downgraded with the SDCard Upgrade option.
However, the update bugged and it was repaired in version: 8.0.0.046 (0CAS).
Does this version allow the use of the hcu-client?
2) I still tested to use hcu-client with their tutorial (Link).
I connected the phone via USB, was in *#*#2846579#*#* mode to put the phone in "manufacture Mode" (1. Background Setting, then 2. USB Port Setting)
Here, I manage to connect, however from step 4, I am constantly asked to connect and gives me an error:
(I have the same thing when restarting in production mode)
I tried to connect to find the phone in "manufacture mode" instead of "Fastboot/Xloader"
And there, I have no error and the information is displayed:
Here, I am restarting with hold Power and both Volume buttons.
In the latter case, I'm not sure what to do to unlock the bootloader.
Do you have an idea?
[EDIT]: I find this link for reading bootloader (LINK). This is the better link for unlocking the bootloader?

Maybe you get an Error because of the wrong build number.

Do you need special pilots?

My phone is unlocked,
