So I got the keyboard from Android L working.
Here is what I did to easily make it work.
Im Not responsible for borked phones. Make a backup first!
This is not my work.
***root required***
Download flashable zip from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53703171
[APP] GOOGLE KEYBOARD FROM ANDROiD L (5.0) *WORKiNG*
Next go to the play store, find Google Keyboard and click uninstall. This will uninstall updates not the entire app.
***for TWRP***
Navigate to system/app find LatinImeGoogle.apk and rename to LatinImeGoogle.bak
Reboot into recovery and flash the zip
Reboot go to settings....language and input...click on the settings for google keyboard scroll down to advanced settings, go to color scheme, choose material. That's it. You now have the new keyboard!
***For manual install ie Rooted w Safestrap***
Extract contents of the zip you downloaded
Go to system/app find LatinImeGoogle.apk and rename to LatinImeGoogle.bak
Then from the file you extracted move the new LatinImeGoogle.apk to system/app and set permissions to rw-r-r
Next from the file you extracted move libjni_latinimegoogle.so to system/lib and set permissions to rw-r-r.
Reboot go to settings....language and input...click on the settings for google keyboard scroll down to advanced settings, go to color scheme, choose material. That's it. You now have the new keyboard

Nubia Z17 Lite boot animation different
The Z17 Lite may be different than most phones in that it uses some more sub directories.
Load you zip file to System/media/theme/bootup instead of system/media.
I also cut all the picture and txt files and moved them to system/media/theme so the media manage would not find them.
***I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOUR DEVICE IS NOT BOOTING UP, DEVICE IS BRICKED, GOT BOOTLOOPED***
***DO AT YOUR OWN RISK***
***READ AND UNDERSTAND EACH AND EVERY STEPS CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING***
Android 5.0 Warning: If you're running a 5.0/5.0.1 ROM, bootanimations longer than 30 frames will cause you to bootloop because of the memory bug in Lollipop. But you can download this bootanimation as it works smoothly in lollipop ROMs.
Samsung Warning: If you're running a Touchwiz based ROM none of these bootanimtions will work for you. Samsung uses their own bootanimation format and your phone will bootloop if you install one of these.
Skinned ROMs Warning: If you're using a custom skinned ROM like Sense/Blur/LG/ etc. there's a high chance you might bootloop. Make a nandroid backup before proceeding.
