Hi All, I have a SM-T713 which was rooted, TWRP 3.0.2-1 installed and Lightning ROM 6.0.1 installed. Today I went to Settings | Developer Options and turned off the OEM unlock something. Then I went to the Terminal Emulator and run su, then reboot recovery. Now my tablet is stuck with "Custom binary blocked by FRP. SECURE FAIL: RECOVERY". I tried Home + Volume Down + Volume Up + Power, the tablet is restarted and then that message appears again. If I do Home + Volume Down + Home, a blue screen appears "If you want to download a custom OS, press the volume up key. Otherwise, press the volume down key to cancel". Pressing volume up show a Downloading... screen. Then I don't know what to do next.
Please help if you know how to fix it. If the instructions are for Linux (because I'm using Linux), it's the best. Windows instructions are ok too.
Thanks.

Hey i did the exact same thing, did you fixed it, if so how?
solved it
if you haven't solved it just download smart switch go to emergency recovery or something like that put your device model in my case (sm-t813)
and put your serial and you are pretty much done hope you the best
Never switch "OEM unlock" back to OFF

Hello, I'm trying to access the download menu so I can try rooting my Galaxy Note GT-I9220, which is supposedly just the Chinese version of the N7000. However, I'm having trouble with this.
I tried Volume Up + Home + Power, and this gives me the "fastboot menu".
I then tried Volume Down + Home + Power, and this gave me the Android recovery menu.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Fastboot = download mode
Long story short, I have the I8190L version of the phone, currently on stock ROM. I got the phone a few weeks ago and I have rooted it right away, there were no problems while rooting, I used the Galaxy S3 mini toolkit and used the "Flash Insecure Boot Image and Root device" option, with SuperSU 1.25. Fast forward to right now, I want to install CyanogenMod, so I went and tried to boot my phone into Download Mode, to try and flash CWM recovery in order to install the Cyanogen ROM, but I simply can't start download mode, when connected to the USB pressing the Vol up + menu + power sequence, the phone just starts normally (The OS will load completely). adb reboot download doesn't work too, vol up + vol down + power and plugging in the usb cable doesn't work.. I did several hard resets and I removed root too, noone of those worked. I don't know if that is relevant, but I installed a patched google play (4.1.10 Chelpus version), I could not find a way to remove that. I can't reroot too because I would need to start my phone in download mode. Anyone knows what is happening?

are you connecting your phone to PC before you go to download-mode???
try this: download-mode (Vol up + Menu + Power) and now connect your device with your computer!
flash CWM or whatever you want...
HTH

That did not work, when it is about to go to download mode it seems that it fails and either boots the OS or just turns off (depends on how much I hold the buttons), and since adb reboot download doesn't work I think something got corrupted (adb finds the device and reboots it, but it just starts up normally).
I'm not sure why, but noone of the articles I read mentioned the actual CORRECT download mode sequence, which is: Volume Down + Home + Power buttons, and then click on Volume Up, it is working now. Thanks.

Well if you looked at the screen you would know what to press after vol down+home+power
oh my God,
you are all right.
i mixed up step one and two of Download-Mode - sorry
first you have to push Vol Down + Menu + Power (few seconds)
start odin as admin
second you connect your device to PC
third you push Vol Up
fourth you flash via Odin.
I often flash ROMs via Odin and / or use CWM so that works automatically ....

what are you using to reboot into recovery?
here's the failsafe way to access recovery:
power off the phone, press and hold volume down + power for a few seconds then release to access bootloader menu. press volume down to highlight recovery, then volume up to select it.

strange, are you unlocked and using twrp/cwm or locked and using slapmymoto? if you're unlocked, i'd recommend reflashing twrp/cwm recovery image, sounds like it may be corrupt. if you're locked, i can't help as i haven't messed with any of the locked device stuff.
im on a locked device, used slapmymoto, thanks for trying, can anyone else help?
Why do you need to be in recovery. You should have write protect off already. If you are trying to flash something you can't without safestrap and the zip needs yo be made for safestrap. Just manually move the emails and change the permissions
Sent from my XT1060 using xda app-developers app
Press Power + Volume Up at the same time when it shows "no command" (And if that doesn't work try Power + Volume Down )

If the button presses while rebooting to get to where you can select recovery doesn't work... You could try Quick Reboot -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.siriusapplications.quickboot to reboot into recovery, or open a command prompt on your PC.. and issue the command.. adb reboot bootloader then pick recovery from there.. If those ways also error with that same message you are seeing now, then your phone doesn't has a problem with its recovery partition.
As others have said, if you are rooted with Write Protection disabled (SlapMyMoto v1 thread tells you to run MotoWPNoMo first, to disable write protection, then follow its process), you should be able to go in, rename the old APK, and replace it with the new one (and set the attributes the same) without needing to be in recovery.
Then again, if you rooted with SlapMyMoto .5 (before the MotoWPNoMo was available), or you never did the MotoWPNoMo process that would explain why you want recovery... you're trying to boot to "recovery" so that you can boot with the Write Protection disabled so you can make this change.

Power off your Moto X
Next, boot into bootloader mode by holding Volume Down and Power
At the bootloader screen, use Volume Down and scroll to Recovery, then press Volume Up to select it
Once you rebooted into recovery mode you will see No Command. Hold Volume Up and press Power to show the recovery menu

That almost didn't work for me, till it did.
I was holding down volume up first, and about half a second to a second later the power button (while not having released volume up button). That didn't work.
I pressed both buttons exactly together, and it worked.
im on 5.1.1 everything was fine until i wanted to root and install recovery. i had everything fine i assume but had that red text on the top when booting up saying recovery is not sea enforced or something like that. i used odin to restore back to 5.1.1 acouple times. and now when i try to flash the unibase cof8 kernal i got this in download mode (Custom Binary (Boot) Blocked By FAP Lock) now i seem to be stuck in download mode. i cant boot back up to android. im trying all button combos but all i can do i restart into download mode. please help in recovering my phone.
Use the power button + volume down button + home button, install a clean copy of lolipop 5.1.1
Did u try to unlock bootloader in development settings and try again?
Im new to the lollipop scene. Coming from the iphone. I didnt know once you have lollipop installed you have to enable unlock bootloader in the developer option settings. I did the all button combo (volume up + volume down + home button + power button) that seem to reboot my device back up to android. Once i did that i enabled unlock bootloader in the developer settings and now im on 5.1.1 lollipop with root and twrp recovery. Although i still have that red warning sign when entering recovery ( recovery is not sea enforced) but i just ignored it and im up and running again
mine had it instaaled and running and when I reboot I get the message and it won't boot, now I gotat do it all over??
My phone was frozen when I was taking a video,
then I forced restart the phone by pressing power button until it restarted.
However, my phone stuck at the android logo for a quite long time with the screen on, so I decided to do a factory reset.
I have tried the following steps on my friend's phone as we bought exactly same phone,
and succeded at first attempt.
1, volume down + power button goes into boot options.
2, then android logo, then about 2 seconds later, dead android guy would appear.
HERE is my phone's problem:
in this step after showing android logo, my phone would vibrate once and then just gone black, just like turning off. NO DEAD ANDROID GUY showed up. Certainly would not be able to do the rest steps.
I have searched and tried so many methods that others used when they could not get into the bootloader. NONE of them succeded.
So I need help, guys.
Anyone got any ideas.
Thanks in advanced !!!
no one ?
I guess I had to bring it to the store for repairing.

1. power button + volume(down) button
then in bootloader menu:
2. volume(down) button to goto down to 'recovery'
3. volume(up) button for selecting it
Alternative I would try this:
power button + volume(down) button
then in bootloader menu stay here connect usb and use fastboot on pc.
fastboot flashall factoryImage ????
