The support page for the Galaxy S6 has been updated to reflect that it’s going to receive the Marshmallow update on AT&T in the near future. The support page shows that version number G920AUCU3CPC2 will land on the handset, bumping it up to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
Now that it has been confirmed that the update is going to start rolling out soon it’s not going to take long for the OTA to hit the airwaves
Nice.. I hope the edge is updated at the same time

Well I see that the OTA can be manually downloaded and installed on the S6, hopefully the file for the S6 Edge is uploaded soon.
i gotta wait fot the odin ?
What's funny is that the build that is available for the s6 is nearly 2 months old so clearly AT&T has just been sitting on it. It has the March security update, not even the April. If this is indeed the final build and what we will see on the S6 Edge I'm very disappointed in both AT&T and Samsung. The 2016 Nexus can't come out fast enough for me.
I know that back in the day we were able to flash 920 Images onto the 925 but would lose the edge features. which . . . havbe been pretty ****ty TBH
+1
So apparently in the regular s6 thread going on they found there are much newer versions of 6.0.1 available right now, the latest being PD6 vs the PC2 reference by samsung that's nearly 2 months old. I guess Samsung jumped the gun and posted the wrong build so we have literally no idea when the update is actually coming right now.
I have absolutely had it with AT&T, their utterly STUPID reps, and their mind-numbingly slow software updates. If anyone else is in the same boat, I ask you to call them whenever you have free time and literally bug the living **** out of them. This is the only way we'll get the update sooner and if nothing else, it's payback. Here's some arguments I've used:
Other carriers have had it for weeks
Two months (today) since the last update
Marshmallow came out 7 ****ING MONTHS AGO and they have a whopping 4-5 phones updated to it (s7, g5, g4, g3, and v10 pretty sure)
Android N is already late in the beta stages
Also, ask for a manager or supervisor. They're more likely to escalate this issue to the higher-ups.
At this point, I honestly think it's just a way of them forcing us into buying the s7. From a business perspective, it makes perfect sense. They do it every year, they don't give us any information on the development of the software, and if no one makes a big deal over it, what's in it for them? Absolutely ****ing nothing.
Together maybe we can move them along.... slightly.

I really wouldn't waste your time/effort on this. AT&T is already aware, and they do not care.
Do you really want to get their attention? Stop buying their branded phones (a lesson I keep having to tell myself since purchasing this AT&T GS6 Edge..). This is a HUGE revenue stream for them - both from the sale of the actual phones at jacked up prices, as well as the kickbacks received from 3rd party bloatware contracts. Get an unbranded unlocked phone and make AT&T your dump pipe. They hate being that.
Suffice to say, I plan on getting either the HTC 10 or one of the new Nexus phones this year. Update and bloatware problems solved.
EDIT: MAJOR props to jetta311xx! He found a new .bin for MM for our GS6 Edges. See below:

Sorry about that - the download link is fixed now.
Rahilm has posted great instructions HERE. These are for the regular GS6 obviously, but the same flashing steps would apply for the Edge, just make sure you're using the right image first :good:

Troy - I was looking around, and you may want to try rebooting your workstation if you're sure you're running the most recent version of adb. This should resolve the cannot read issue.

I am in the same boat, nothing I do will allow it to read the file. I tried on 2 PC's renaming it multiple times, even tried to make it into a zip file nothing is working.

I've tried restarting, reinstalling, re-anything lol. Also tried using .bin and .zip with no luck. Is there a video tutorial anywhere? Good luck to you, and let me know if you figure anything out!
I wish I had better news for you guys. It just seems that ADB can be a little finicky - it's not the update file. I ran into the same issue and once ADB decides to start doing this, it doesn't even bother reading the file.
These are the steps I took and I eventually got it to work:
Make sure that the update file is in the same directory as ADB
Verify that you are running the latest version of ADB
Rename the update to a short filename like "ota" and add the .zip extension
Verify in cmd that the file renamed with only a .zip extension and not something else (eg: not ota.zip.bin or ota.zip.zip)
Restart your computer
Before plugging phone in, run "adb devices" and verify daemon is started with no devices listed
Plug phone in and enter adb sideload mode
Run adb devices again and verify the presence of your device
Run adb sideload update.zip
If doing things in this order doesn't work, all I can suggest at that point is to completely remove all ADB installations, reboot, and do a fresh install of the latest version of ADB. Some people have reported success with going the nuclear route and loading the latest SDK, but it's all very much YMMV.
Its here and working!!!

Just received an update through OTA, haven't done the update yet, has anyone got this, Sony has forced people to do the update, as you can't hide it or disable it, it will just stay in the status bar and as notification.
I updated but have no idea what was delivered. Firmware version remained the same.

That would be the first time one is forced to update/upgrade. Usually you can select something like "Always", "Only when connected to WiFi" or "Never". Isn't that no more the case with the Xperia X series? Hope it is...
yeh, I found out you can prevent the upgrade, but you have to do it before a upgrade pops up in the upgrade section.

The bionz is too aggressive, too much noise on pictures.
Stamina mode is a joke compared to before. It just slows the phone down.

hey karrouma,
Do you need to be rooted to use Flashtools?
I show that my phone is up-to-date, but I still have the Contacts app issue (I don't care anymore cuz I use Contacts + app, but still). I've been having an issue I hope is gone now where phone randomly restarts on its own. I cleared all the preferences (or cache?) at once and restarted. So far it's good (knock on wood), but I wonder if doing what you did would help? But if it requires root forget it. lol
Also, on your box, on the side.......... what country/language codes do you see? Mine said ZH, EN which I guess was China and English for US/UK (or maybe England?? lol). HK would be Hong Kong, so still China. TW would be Taiwan. I've been told the Taiwan int'l version doesn't have the Contacts app issue.
Please let me know.
No root , u canuse flashboot safely if u know how to install your phone driver
Tw phone the dual with 64gb

Ok. Wait it's called Flashboot or Flashtools??
Not sure. I've rooted and unlocked bootloaders before, but I don't know the exact procedure for what you're talking about. Are there instructions somewhere online? Where did you go to get the FTF file? Is THIS it?
Ok you got the Taiwanese version. Cool. Mine's Hong Kong. I don't think the TW version ever had the stock Contacts app issue though.

Stamina mode has been ruined and instead of my regular 54hrs at 100% battery, I now get 27hrs with the. 238.
Battery to me is everything, thats why i was very happy with my Sony Xperia x performance.
But not anymore.
Also i just checked, my batt was at 70% i tried turning off stamina mode to see how much the change would be, ONE HOUR difference with stamina mode on!
ONE!
VERY ANNOYED!

Is there a way to revert to back my system update?
Also, I posted on sony forums about it.
Posted in software section, for some stupid reason it was moved to xperia x section as a reply to a topic about 8hr battery.
I clearly stated it was xperia x performance and the system update 35.0.a.1.238. Yet when I went to check it was gone and move.

"Regular 54 hrs"? The XP just came out a month ago. What do you mean regular?
I tried leaving SM on overnight last week for about 7 hours, and the battery STILL goes down, but only 4%. It's not like the SM on the Z3, which was better but also to me quite buggy. Without SM overnight my battery went down 7%. I only activate SM when I'm gonna be out for more than a few hours, or else it's not worth it.
Note: Make sure if you use the "Visual Voicemail" app that after enabling then disabling SM that you go back into the VV app and re-enable it. Or else calls that go to VM will only show up on Notification Pane (VV notif won't show up) and you'll have to re-enable it later anyways, so might as well just remember to do it after disabling SM. Other than that it works pretty well, just not AS great as on my old Z3. But at least it's not buggy, and by buggy I mean super annoying MMS and random battery drain issues. MMS messages wouldn't always come in and randomly the battery level would free fall, and I'd have to FACTORY RESET the phone to make it ok. I'm so glad Sony finally fixed it, just wish it didn't lose any battery power overnight. Oh well.
65mb.
Hope this helps with the recent battery drain .
Battery is pretty good as is, for me. Curious how this will effect engboot, other potential roots, and switching to and from U firmware.
My battery would last me all day , up at 6am,thru work, get home, and by 11pm , be at 20%. Since the July update, I'm lucky to make it to 5pm.
No Samsung Cloud in this latest update, I guess I can just hope for it next month?

I've had success using Ez disabler to clear the data on the at&t software application. Every time you clear the data, it resets the 24 hour clock letting you check the servers again.
Seems like the 935a is a dead issues, might be time to shop around for something with an unlocked bootloader, especially coming from a nexus 6p.

As someone with a T-Mobile S7 stuck on bootloader version 3, this makes me happy. Apparently Verizon's is on version 3 too. I was afraid mine would just be permanently stuck on it while the other three carriers and the unlocked version get to swap back and forth.

Why wouldn't you take it? S8 had no issues with root, with all updates.
In BK disabler, search for SDM and disable the 2 packages. Bye OF A. I also disabled them in developer options. This is for Verizon, not sure about others.
Also, just curious if there will be an official XDA Verizon n8 forum.

But dont know. I disable updates. It seems like after a few the phone starts to run slow
Any body know if the unlocked version has this update I'm waiting I'm mine. I plan to wait and see if root comes. Also because of the WiFi hotspot being unlocked out of the box. What if this update blocks this.

My note 8 has never been near or in any water, not even rain drops have hit it. Now randomly it will pop up and say water detected in usb port. Which doesn't really effect me being able to use the phone, I use a wireless charger anyway. It's just annoying that it keeps popping up from time to time. Sometimes it will go weeks without doing it, one time it popped up and the phone rebooted itself and the warning was gone when it restarted. I talked to sprint about it and they basically showed me the door telling me to go to samsung who was equally useless. The first time it happened it wouldn't go away for days and I finally did a factory reset. That worked for the last 3 months, now all of a sudden it's back again.

Check that your port doesn't have any excess lint in it. Also what software version are you on. I think there's one with a bug dealing with the port and causing the device to reboot.
It's clean and I'm on official oreo, not rooted, only custom thing I've done is make a theme using the themeGalaxy app.
I'm getting this quite a lot now. First time it lasted 3 days before it cleared itself. I've had it today but cleared on a day. Deffo a software thing as the port looks clear to me.

Not sure what sprints latest is but u4 bootloader is more current. If you do go form 3-4 there is no root option for now or ever.

This.
And you can't downgrade either, so be sure before pulling the trigger
I don't really care about root, I just want to make sure I flash the right one. Anyone know where I can make sure I find the right one for sprint? And I'm guessing I have to use Odin for it right?

Go to sammobile or updato.com, put it your model number, and you should be able to find the latest firmware for your specific model there. Yes you would need to use Odin (be sure to read up on the instructions in the other threads and be familiar with the process before jumping into it...saves time in the end ).

Okay awesome, I'm fairly familiar with Odin, used it on my note 3 back in the day and it's what I used to get the note 8 to Oreo. I was really just concerned with what version I could go to and from, I know in the note 3 days you couldn't skip certain updates. So you were stuck sitting there updating your phone like 3 times through Odin just to get to the version you wanted.
the moisture in charging port is a know error since S8/S8+ and Samsung is well aware of it.
I had it on my first Note8 and there's a few things you can try, cleaning the charging port with gently with alcohol wipes - delete cache in USB in system apps - factory reset -
But best option is to back up everything and flash latest software using Odin.
I ended up just sending mine in for warranty repair as it was only 2 months old

forgot to say that you can still charge using the cable but you need to first turn off the phone and then connect the cable just as the boot up starts
