Need help to upgrade G920AUCU3BOI2 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6

Hi all,
I have a G920AUCU3BOI2 and I want to upgrade to latest android 6.
I found several posts on the forum / other sites detailling how to upgrade from BOJ7, but none from BOI2.
--> Shall I upgrade step by step to any incremental version ie from BOI2 to BOJ7, and then from BOJ7 to BOJ9, and then to CPD6, etc, or can I upgrade directly to the lattest android 6 version (many available here incl DPJ1)?
If I need to upgrade to BOJ7, where can I find it? None of the links I found are working...
Thaks for your help,
Aymeric

[Q] How to flash lastest and greatest Froyo 2.2.1 and radio?

Hi there,
I would like to use Odin to flash my SGS 9000 to the latest version of Froyo 2.2.1 (stock Samsung), and the latest radio firmware.
In this thread the list of firmwares are listed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846913
I want to use Odin to do this.
Current status of my 'phone
2e Recovery with 3 button recovery and download mode is enabled.
PDA: I9000XWJM2
PHONE: I9000XXJM1
CSC: I9000OXXJM2
Pcode: GT-I9000HKATPH
What to use
Which one of the listed firmwares can I use to get the phone up to the latest version? I think these, but am unsure:
I9000XXJPU|2.2.1|2010 December
There is a URL to a file called "All CSC Download". I think the latest file is called: CSC_I9000OXFJP6.tar.md5
Will CSC_I9000OXFJP6.tar.md5 work on my 'phone, and will it offer any improvements over I9000OXXJM2?
Regards.
im using doc rom and it is blazing fast. Doc and others provide great support if your in trouble.

Lovely, but you should start a new thread about Doc ROM. This thread is about using the latest stock Samsung 2.2.1
If you require advertising space for doc rom then might I suggest Google Adsense?
Doc's ROM = Froyo 2.2.1 (without most of the bugs stock has)
Please read the android development section. It's not nice to just wait and be spoon fed all the info if the info is just a few clicks away..
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Apologies about the doc rom message I wrote. I had misinterpreted it.
I wont flash non stock firmware. I only want to flash the latest Samsung including CSC.
The reason is simply lack of information about what everything does. All the threads tell me to do step A then step B, but seldom explain what & why. Thus I am unable trust what is said, & will therefore only use the official Samsung.
/EDIT:
I have searched for Doc Rom on the web, so far only found this site:
http://www.galaxyroot.com/howtorom-a-noobs-guide-to-installing-docrom-xxjpu-v1-1-with/
I was looking for a list of the following for Doc Rom:
Changelog, indicating reasons for the change from stock Samsung.
Diffs between files of the code changes made.
Release notes.
Does anyone know where I can find these?
Samsung XXJPU is a leaked firmware.Samsung didn't release the source code for it.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Oh. Perhaps Android is psuedo open source.
is this the same for the CSC I9000OXFJP6? ( Although I don't know if this would work with my 'phone so my question may be moot)
If you are that distrusting and need to know exactly what and why things are changed , you will never be able to flash any firmware again .. You willnot find a byte per byte explanation .. And because you do not trust rommod you can also not trust leaked roms !! Who knows , maybe somebody changed somtheing in the leaked firmware .. The only right thing for you to do is wait for a rom update via kies ! But ..... be warned Samsung also doesn't deliver a changelog !!

Rooting a branded phone

Hey everyone. I am very interested in rooting, and hopefully flashing once i have done the basic root first. Please can you answer each question I have an Orange branded SGS GT-i9000. Here are the specs:
FW Version: 2.3.5
Baseband Version: I9000BVJV3
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I9000BVJVC-CL679241 [email protected] #2
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.BVJVC
Question 1: do i need to know the whole of the kernel or just part of it?
Question 2: I always see rooting guides saying 'How to root (FW version) JV(something). Where does the JV come from, as i have 2 types of JV, JV3 and JVC. So what does rooting depend on other than firmware version?
Question 3: I have noticed the Orange firmware is a different JV. So how do i know the root will work with my version as the root guides are always on stock roms?
Thanks in advance : )
Hello Tarnwilliamson, I think I am in the same boat as you, I also am on Orange with the same spec phone as you wanting to root. I was just wondering have you found out anything about rooting this phone? I have searched dev and q & a section but there seems to be no posts on this topic. I dont want to start a new thread so I though I would ask you first. Thank u in advance.
hello
You may try with Super one click root or try to flash your rom with odin to STOCK ROM (i have I9000xxjvu for example) and use CFROOT for your rom with PDA in odin. That gives u the root accsess, superuser and busybox ( CFroot IS A KERNEL) it is many subject on XDA.
Hello Marcinrek21, Thank you for your reply. As my Build number ends with jvc isnt there a specific file I need to flash with if using Odin? Or am I mistaken and I can flash with any cf root file as long as it is for a gt19000? As for super one click is that still compatibable with 2.3.5 as I remember reading somewhere the bootloader may be locked with gingerbread? Thank you in advance.

Need official firmware

Hey everyone,
finally i managed to make an account here, cause i need your help. I´m looking for firmware that could have official updates via kies in Estonia (CSC: SEB). Can someone send me link of firmware that i could flash. At the moment i got error via kies: " your device does not support firmware upgrading via kies".
I flashed JVS firmware, but that has only few CSC in list, but i need SEB.
I think your best bet would be to go to Sammobile.com and look in their firmware section, they have a big range of stock firmwares. If you just want a newer Android though I'd recommend looking under the i9000 development section though, it's full of really good ROMs. Hope that helps.
thanks for that link, but i'm afraid there aren't any firmware for baltic countries. I need firmware that supports CSC: SEB.

[Q] Official android version

Dear concern, i am using galaxy s i9000, i buy it a 2months used cell, as it was using gingerbread 2.3.3, i doesn't know that if it was an official gingerbread or non official, i flashed it with custom rom's, such as XXJVO, XXJVA... and in those i faced some problems i cannot upgrade the firmware version by kies r itself by the phone, so i rooted with so called official version from this link (theandroidsoul)
and now when i connect my phone with kies it has the same problem "your firmware cannot be upgrade by kies"
Can you plz help me that what should i do to get the official version of the gingerbread. Thank u very much in advance.
Go to sammobile.com and make a login account (its free). From there click on firmware and then click on smartphone and then android and so on. Then find the firmware you want. There are also pdf guides that you can follow to tell you exactly what to do.
Yep, you'll need to manually flash stock before Kies will recognize your phone and it's firmware version properly and agree to upgrade it for you.
With stock on, you can still be rooted and do all fancy things there-in, but the OTA upgrades can and usually do break it.
There are also ROMs that are pre-modded/rooted versions of the official firmware that might interest you, and save you some time.
official version
Dear Talon26,
i did what you said and i did get pretty much of help from there, but i am facing a simple problem how should i get the official firmware of my country Pakistan. Really thanks to you for further telling.

[Q]need help rooting or not

hy guys, I received my galaxy note last month, it is an italian version no-brand with LB1 GB. I looked on the internet and I found that version isn't directly rootable. I want to personalise my note and try some cooked roms I saw here on forum. What do you recomand to me?
- wait for the official ics release for my country and then root it? (italian one wasn't released yet)
- force and directly up from lb1 (stock italy) to lpy (german official)
- downgrade from lb1 to kka (or similar) and then root it.
Need some help because I'm a bit confused and I don't want to brick my new phone.
Ps: this is my first android phone, before of this I had only symbian (to make you understand my level of androisation...)
1. Stay on GB
2. look at development section for dr ketans guide on rooting your phone.
3. And may the lord of bricks not cast a glance on you
Zapped through server hops to XDA forums
You can also customize your device without rooting.
Try Go launcher, launcher pro etc....
There is plenty of options to customized your device.
Google will help you find them.....
thanks for your answers. I think I will follow the dr ketan's guide and try to downgrade to a directly rootable version. I will upgrade this post with my experience
I successufully downgraded using dr ketan's guide - with that version (KJ) I found a bug, my keyboard didn't work (for writing messages for example)
I upgraded my phone to LB2 using odin and installed ics 4.0.4 of CyanogenMod nightly version. it's ok now, I only miss the applications of the S-pen
thanks for your help!
