Ok, I am having issues with my OP3, periodically the cell radio will turn off and I cant receive or make calls. I then have to dial *#*#4636#*#* and disable/re-enable radio. I have returned the phone once to have it repaired, but it still happens. Is there a way to have tasker check for radio off and enable if it is?
I don't know if this will help but you could try using a variable to check the the mobile service state, which is %CELLSRV and set to "unknown" or "noservice" or even "nopower". Depending what is been reported in quick settings when you have this issue occur.

Okay sometimes my N1 will lose all service and in the Notification Bar it will display "Emergency Calls Only". This doesn't go away and I don't get service until i restart my phone. I don't understand why it does this. I am running CyanogenMod 5.05 and my carrier is Cincinnati Bell. What can I do to fix this?
I do see this sometimes (albeit rarely) in areas where T-Mobile has low coverage (I guess that means it would roam to AT&T to make a 911 call if needed).
But as soon as I get into an area with good coverage it's solved. I don't have a need to restart the phone.
What radio are you using? Have you tried also just turning off the radio and turning it back on, or for example toggling 2G only? That might trigger the radio to re-connect.
The radio I am using is EPE54B.
Your explanation as to why this happens sounds reasonable. The location that I normally see this happen does not have the best coverage.
Next time it happens, I will try toggling 2g only.
Is there another way to turn the radio off and on without restarting?
Airplane mode. But be warned, toggling 2G or turning Airplane mode on/off usually doesn't work with this issue. A reboot is generally faster.
Also FYI, if you aren't aware, you can soft reboot by holding down Trackball+Power+Vol Down. Click all three simultaneously and the phone will reboot within a couple seconds.
I have Damagecontrol V0.9999 installed and data network works great with me but when ever i flash any other rom it stops working and says that service is unavailable. It just starts for first minute when new ROM boots up and then nothing. Not even the icon comes on top
baseband is 2.41.05.02.03
software is 2.26.605.2
Any ideas guys..
Guys please help...
I checked and found out that Version 2.1 works fine on my Phone but 2.1 Update 1 doesnt work. Which may have caused this problems. Any Suggestions..
Not sure I can help much. I'm not with sprint so I'm not real familiar with their settings. I'm Making the Assumption you are. If not let us know what carrier you are with.
Are you able to update your profile from settings >About Phone >Network >Update Profile?
Does the mobile network say connected or turning on in Settings >Wireless & Networks?
It could Be PRI related check it in Settings >About Phone >Software Information and report back with what version you have.
Get that info and note anything else the you think may be relevant ad we'll go from there.
Thanks a lot for the reply.
I am with Reliance CDMA Network in India.
There is no Update Profile setting here >About Phone >Network >Update Profile
Does the mobile network say connected or turning on in Settings >Wireless & Networks?..It says Disconnected because service is unavailable. When i reboot my Device. The 3G ICON comes for a minute or 2 and goes away.
PRI Version is 1.70 in working and 1.70_003 in not working
It also could be an issue with flashing Sprint roms. You might try the bitter sweet Rom.
Do you know if it works in the few moments that comes up. I had reset my PRI and lost my EVDO but it would not work at all, the mobile network would just say turning on all the time and the phone would get hot.
I had to compare/correct settings in the EPST menu with another HERO from my carrier. To access the menu dial ##778# I think the password for edit mode is your MSL mine was 6 zeros yours may be the same. View Mode will not show the Security section info. The settings that finally did the trick for me are below
Security Section
HDR AN Auth User ID
(LONG)
[email protected]
HDR AN Auth Password ID
xxxx
PPP User ID
[email protected]
PPP Password
xxxx
M.IP Default Profile Section
NAI
[email protected]
The HDR AN Auth User ID (LONG) may or may not start with evdo but from 2 carriers that I looked at they were similar. The small x's will be specific to you carrier. The capital Xs were my 10 digit phone number. Like I said best thing would be to do a side by side compare of yours and someone's that is working.
If all this compare and are all good I guess it is possible it could be hardware related. Good luck
But it works with Darkchoid and Damage Control V0.9999 but not other roms. Do these setting changes with ROMS
Mine did that. I put in airplane mode and back to normal and it restarted the data service and now it works

I tried on every ROM. Only Damagecontrol 0.99999 works and darchdroid all evrsions work..
guys plz help
Try dialling *#*#4636#*#* and go into "Phone Info". Hit the menu button then "More". There should be an option there to enable data connection. Also, did you make sure that Sprint DSA is disabled?
I am having similar issue but I have no internet at all . Just got a replacement phone today from nTelos . Got home , created goldcard and ruu to sprint . Rooted the phone and now the Evdo is not working ? I can make calls and receive and all that , however, no internet ??
I went ahead flashed Fresh Toast v2.1 and matching radio but still nothing ?? Any ideas ??
Cell tower information sometimes "Unknown" - Issues with Cell Near automation
Hi,
I have both tasker and automagic app profiles which are triggered based on cell tower informations. I discovered that altough my phone shows clear full reception signal and i can make calls, have data connection etc when i look via tasker or any other app that collects cell tower id's it gives a result of unknown. After a while this changes and the phone can again pick up actuall cell tower id's but it often switches back to unknown.
My issue with this is that this basically kills most of my location based automations on the phone and is driving me nuts.
Anyone else have similar issues with their HTC One and if yes know maybe a way to fix it?
Thanks
I may have found the problem (and the workaround). Since the HTC One is an LTE phone and my previous one (HTC One S where everything worked fine) wasen't i tried to change the Network mode from GSM / WCDMA / LTE auto to GSM / WCDMA auto only. Once i have done that the phone immediately was able to identify the cell tower network id. Of course this could be purely coincidental so only time will tell if this actually permanently fixes my issue but so far it seems to work.
Hi - I'm a semi-noob with this phone and Android in general (long-time iPhone JB'er finally saw the light), so sorry for any ignorance/stupidity in what follows...
HTC One, on T-Mobile
Android 4.3 SW# 3.24.531.3
Baseband vsn: 4A.21.3263.03_10.38m.1157.04L
Rooted, Unlocked, S-OFF
I was traveling on St Martin (French Caribbean) where T-Mobile gives free data roaming, so I turned on roaming and everything was fine - cell service, cell data, wifi all clearly working properly. After several days, I noticed no cell service or 3G indicator, but my wife's T-Mobile iPhone had full bars and 3G service. I waited a while, and (I *believe*) data & cell service came back on once for a while, but then failed again and have not returned to health since then (it's been about a week). Wifi works fine. When I tried to find a signal I would get "Error Searching for Networks". I thought maybe it had to do with roaming, but when I returned home (USA) I still had no cell signal/data.
I've tried rebooting, turning Data roaming on and off, Airplane mode on and off, all choices of Network mode, power off for a long time while charging, a couple other more obscure suggestions that I can't remember. I have not tried reverting to Stock or flashing a radio.
In poking around in settings:
IMEI: [normal] (this is different from several other people reporting similar problems)
Network Mode: GSM / WCDMA / LTE Auto
Operator: Unknown
Signal Strength: 0
Mobile network type: Unknown
Service State: Radio Off
Roaming: Not roaming
I've seen several posts here and on Android Forums with similar problems, but never quite a match - always a different phone and/or they are now missing their IMEI, which is not true for me and seems significant.
I never dropped the phone in water or anything, but I was traveling and it's possible it got more humidity than normal (one thread suggested water damage as a likely culprit).
Is there anything for me to do before (A) flashing a radio, (B) returning it to stock, (C) taking it to T-Mobile and hoping they'll fix it (still under warranty)? I haven't flashed a radio before, but it sounds like it's straightforward - if you have any suggestions, let me know.
I have an OTA update available to 4.4.2 - is it likely that would help me? And if I do that how much damage control will I have to do to get back to rooted/unlocked/S-OFF status?
Someone with a different phone said they removed their battery for a couple of hours and all was fine, but I'm scared to try to remove my battery, especially if I might have to take it for warranty repair.
Thanks for any guidance you can provide, and let me know if I should post any more info...

Have you tried to switch on radio manually? Dial *#*#4636#*#* ---> phone info ---> there is a switch to turn on/off radio

OTA update won't affect bootloader (unlocked and S-OFF). You might loose root but you can re-root after the update. Don't forget you need stock recovery to update. If you are going to send your phone for repair, you'll have to S-ON, remove tampered flag and Lock (no re-lock) the bootloader or your warranty will be invalid. You can only s-on on hboot 1.44 or 1.54 so you'll have to downgrade first.

Do not attempt to remove the battery yourself on the M7, bad idea if you are planning to send the phone under warranty.

Oh my freaking gawd, thank you. It actually didn't work at first - the button just read "turn off radio" (as if it was currently on), and tapping it didn't seem to cause any change. Kind of on a whim, I changed "preferred network type" from "WCDMA preferred" to "LTE Only", went out to settings to see if anything had changed, turned off WiFi, came back to the phone info page, clicked "turn radio off" again, and then I noticed that numbers on the screen were moving, and I had 4G/LTE and full bars again. I've switched back to "WCDMA preferred" and everything seems fine, but I don't know whether that's the right choice out of a long list of options - it's just what was there to start with.
I feel silly that it was so simple, but I didn't know about that testing screen. Thanks a ton.

Hello,
Often hapens to my phone people calling me and they say my phonne it's off! But i have allways my phonne on and with good GSM signal.
It's possible that some setting on battery managent are messing wiht phone app?
Check the permissions for your call app. You may need to reset them.
