Internal storage not getting empty after factory reset - Lenovo A7000 Questions & Answers

Even after formatting the phone is still showing some 1.7 to 2 gb data still present in internal storage. After installing some basic apps now it has become full . I have tried various apps but still it's unable to account for that 2 gb storage. Any other method to clear internal and get access to full 4 gb internal memory?

[Q] export data to sd card & internal storage

alright guys, I have miui on my Nexus one and was having no problems up until tonight. I started with 21 mb of internal storage, and suddenly my phone had a pop up asking if I wanted to "export my data to my SD card" it then went on to explain it would move pictures, screenshots, data, etc from my internal storage, to my SD card. And I thought, awesome, now I'll have more space. But now I'm down to 11 mb of internal storage, and keep getting an low memory error. My SD card has plenty of space, 3.6 gb left. This low memory issue is driving me insane, and I don't understand how I ended up LOSING internal storage when I thought I would gain it. Can someone please help me out?
You're running MIUI, I guess - I don't remember this message on any other ROM.
And you probably don't have A2SD running - because otherwise you wouldn't be left without memory.
Reboot the phone, it'll probably restore you back to 21MB of free space. Then read up on A2SD, partition your SD card and enable A2SD.

Get back Internal SDcard for apps storage

Hello!
Yesterday I found a fact, that my Note doesn't want to use my internal sdcard for applications storage ("Android" folder) anymore. The problem is that my external sdcard formatted for use with NTFS, so i can't update any app which automatically installs part of themselves to sdcard. without unmounting external sdcard before.
So, how can I get back my internal sdcard for using as default storage for applications installation, if they need it? THX!
Okay, i tried to wipe data and reflash LRK 4.0.4 ROM with mobile ODIN, I also tried to format internal sdcard and it doesn't helped too. I still can't move apps to internal sdcard as before due of insufficient space, despite i have about 4 gigs free on it.

[Q] Half of internal memory missing

So I bricked my phone and ended up having to FXZ to the OTA JB update. Once I did I found that the internal memory just isnt there. There is still 4GB for the apps but no storage and backup will not work because it can not find internal storage. It also will not show up on my computer like normal. How do I get it to show back up?
thecodydavis was able to format his internal storage, after so many reboots, the phone ask him to reformat the storage space. And I believe reformat it will lose all the data in the storage, but you will have internal storage back.

I have the same problem except I need to recover the data. I am still trying to make an image of /dev/block/mmcblk1p26 (storage memory block) and hopefully data recovery tool works on the image.
Thanks! Pretty much what happened! Problem solved!

[Q] Running low on space

So, I've ran into an issue with my i9000 which I can't fix on my own..
Currently I'm using Cyanogenmod 10.0 and the partitioning is as usual:
-1.46gb Internal Storage
-5.78gb "USB storage"
Now, I've reinstalled CM10 because of some recent force closes, (wiped data, wiped cache and dalvik cache), and installed a bunch of apps, most of which are games for my son, but now the phone says, it's frequently running out of space, which is kind of obvious, because both partitions are almost full.
The problem is thou, I cannon move any app to the external sd card, so I could free up some space on the internal memory..
I can move them from "phone" memory to "sd card" (which is also internal memory, just a different partition), but because of the stupid partitioning, I can't use my external sd card for apps.
But the thing is, before I moved on to CM10, I've used Darky's Rom, and apps could be installed on the external card just fine...
So, my question now is:
Is it possible to "merge" the internal storage and usb storage into one partition (so that basically I'd have 7,24gb of internal storage), and only have one sd card (not one "fictional" and one external)?
Another thing, not so important thou.. Where can you set the default storage for pictures being taken with the camera?
Hey,
Jelly Bean doesn't let you move apps into SD storage. That being said there should be some apps that allow you to do that.
Merging the internal and external storage I'm not quite sure of.
And in the camera, go into camera settings, it should be there.

Mistery of running out of space while most apps and data moved to external sd

I am struggling to find what is taking up all the space on the device (stock ROM, not rooted), I moved all movable apps and data to external sd (I clear the cache regularly but most of it gallery thumbnais ,just under 1gb and I wiped the cache in recovery mode) . In file browser internal sd including hidden files and folders only amounts to 2 GB. So I have to assume some hidden system partition is taking up another 62 GB?
Is there a way to fixx it without wiping the system?
