Rooting a Nexus 5 (2013) Question - SuperSU

I am about to attempt to root my Nexus 5 (2013). Is SuperSU the best approach for my device or is there something else I should be using?
Thanks in advance for your help, appreciated!

You should search or find this question on appropriate forum, cos every single phone it has its own thread, so you may look at Nexus 5 forum on xda and I'm sure this question will lay there, simply take a profit from that forum instead of asking or making the question in a separate thread.

Super one click root
Hey all,
I just saw a youtube video on a root method called super one click.
Would that work for my nexus one 2.2.1 frg83d???
Please help.
I really want a easy root for my phone.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Yes it's really easy. I rooted my phone using that just 2 days ago. Only things you need to do is download the android sdk download the driver and the adb file. The unlockr.com has a tutorial on how to set up your driver. Then after that you connect your phone and download that super one click and use it. Good luck

thanks.
So you sure I could use it for frg83d?

The link I gave you in your other post suggested reading the wiki. The wiki will tell you what methods still work for FRG83D...
Yes, it will work...

Hey I just want to know what is the easyest way to root a nexus one frg83d.
I already have the unlocked padlock.
Please explain here and don't give some link. Thanks.

Good grief Charlie Brown - how many times do you need to ask the same question?
Since your bootloader is unlocked, just fastboot flashort a custom recovery, then use to install a custom ROM or rooted stock ROM...

Put some effort into searching.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705460
Also, see the Wiki Sticky thread above yours...
Can't believe he'd come in here to say "explain here and don't give links".
What does he expect? Pretty much if he can't handle figuring it out from the wiki or guides out there, he shouldn't be rooting at all.

Hi there. Welcome to the Internet. Let me explain to you how a forum works.
1) People make posts to contribute to the overall knowledge bank of the forum.
2) The posts stick around - forever. No information is ever lost.
3) If someone has an issue that isn't previously covered by another post, they post a new post looking for clarification. That post (and the posts that answer the post) also stick around forever.
4) Before you (the user) make a new post, you are expected to look around to see if your question has been answered before. This keeps the forum from being cluttered with redundant posts, and makes the useful posts easier to find.
5) You will have to click links, read multiple posts, and do a little bit of thinking and processing on your own to use what you have learned.
Please, search. Even easier, just look at the stickied threads at the top of the board. They contain links to information that covers everything you need. No one here is going to hold your hand every step of the way, at least not until you put forth some effort of your own - like the two minutes of effort to look around the board and find the information you need. If you aren't willing to put forth that effort, and expect someone to hold your hand, you really do not have any business trying to hack your device. You'll just break it, and won't know how to fix it.

Development,Theming: Nexus 4 vs Galaxy nexus

What do you guys think which device has more support,tools,hacks,developers,themers...Nexus 4 or the G.Nex ?
I apologize if the post is wrong in any manners..
GNex still has more mods/roms but almost all devs are moving to N4 really fast.
This is a pretty redundant OP as the Gnex has had more time to develop, so the answer if pretty obvious.
IB4L
The answer is obvious. G nexus has way more mods, themes etc.

Please use the Nexus 4 vs. Any other phone thread that can be found in the sticky rollup thread.

[REF] ATTN: Please stop posting rev2 Nexus 7 stuff here

This is NOT the 2013 N7 forum. Please stop posting here, and go to YOUR forum, located here.
You guys are effectively spamming our forum with your posts about a different device. If you wanna go bonkers and celebrate to the world that you got a new Nexus, then by all means do....in the 2013 Nexus 7 General Forum. Otherwise you're just filling our forum with junk.
That may be a tad harsh, but it's necessary.
Thank you.
That link doesn't work for me.

THREAD CLEANED!!!
Please stay on Topic!!! Im letting this thread stay as a REFERENCE for other XDA users till the end of the day tomorrow!!!!
Is there going to be a totally new forum just for 2013 model? I'm a little confessed. Where are we supposed to talk about the new one?
Thanks
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Well of course its gonna need a new thread, its a different device altogether. Different chipset, different display resolution, almost everything is different from the old one.
Threads such as 'difference between old and new nexus 7' should be fine here, but stuff like, how to root, unlock, mods or Q&A for new nexus 7 should go in its own forum.
That's all good and I agree but until we get that forum where are we supposed to talk about it if not in the nex 7 forums.
I think song sperate forums would be redundant. Devs though will need to stay labeling what year their code is for.

Its like the i777 forums spammed with slow rocket stuff all over again

Wouldn't it be a good idea for the mods to rename this forum "Nexus 7 (2012)" in order to better differentiate between the two devices?

Nexus 7 2012 Kit Kat

Hey, it's my first post here and I was wondering if the nexus 7 from 2012 will get the new transparent navigation buttons, and notification bar. I really want this look on my nexus. Also, when will the n7 get kit kat? Thanks for the help.

Yes, you can install the unofficial builds of 4.4 already
Google will release the official thing in "the next few weeks"
You're posting in the wrong section, by the way

or post here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1900037
or just read about release date on what ever news site you read about kit kat in the first place..
People are not yelling at you Just advising you there is a structure and format on XDA. if we all do not follow it Information would be Lost and Confusing to find..
The unofficial releases would be in the Development threads . Means FLASHING your Device
Good Luck.

Yeah, it's all right next to the entire forum that has dedicated itself to extremely "useful" sarcasm.

Ok, seen enough joking around. You all should be a little nicer...
Would have been much easier to answer the OP's issue, without all the smart-alek responses
Now that people have been reminded to;
a. Use the "search" feature (it actually works.....most of the time)
b. Post questions in the "Q & A" Forum
I can close this now.
@jackthebomb they are just messing with you, actually some good folks here.

[Q] will they ever make a custom rom for this phone

So you don't know how to check the development section of the boards? There are a few in development but with that kind of attitude you won't get far here sir

Roms aren't even very necessary at this point.
Root, recovery, backup, xposed.
All you'll need.
Can you explain what xposed is and maybe help me install it?
Sent from my LG-D415 using XDA Free mobile app
Use google and you can find it yourself. This thread is offensive to all the developers on this site and demonstrates how lazy certain users can be. And by the way, if you'd only have taken the effort to look in the development threads for this device, you would've seen that there are in fact a lot of roms in development for this device, so why start a new thread to ask this? Sorry for the tone in this message, but these kind of questions really get under my skin sometimes.
