/data/datapp (/cust/preinstalled/public/app) - Honor 5C Questions & Answers

Can copy and delete apps using root explorer from following locations or simlar:
/data/dataapp
/cust/preinstalled/public/app
However, the apps moved don't show up. Simlar woked fine on MOTO G4 (Oem partition) but not on P9 Lite/Honor 5c. Any ideas (would like to utlize the unused space ) ?

Do not mess with cust partition. It is not there for user data.

[Q] Reapair/Reinstall system app

Hiii Guys
I have a XT 883 rooted, bought from ebay. In my social networking->Add social network->Setup accounts there is no icons to setup any account.
Also there is no sticky note. I had titanium backup preinstalled. And in apps list a strikeout line is there like "com.motorola.stickynote" and a lot others which i cant backup or freeze. the options are not active only uninstall works. may be while while flashing they removed these backup files.
I have downloaded a verizon stock ROM for droid 3 & extracted all apk & odex. Can somebody tell me how I can repair my apps with these or some other way so I can use social networking app, sticky notes etc.
Bump
You could use another ROM entirely.

I am also thinking the same but little bit afraid as i can't back my existing with safe strap due to a known issue with XT883 partition. Also I am a noob for android but not totally. There is an alternate way of backup posted by TBBle here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=294 but I am not very sure of that. As i see you also have a XT883 so maybe you can help me better.
Can you suggest some ROM which I can try with safe strap & which works with both CDMA as well as GSM network. For me it's important that phone works with both type of SIM cards. At present I am using CDMA OMH SIM CARD with the device.
Edit :
My phone was flashed with China telecom ROM (60.3.250.XT883.ChinaTelecom.en.CN) when bought, with most bloatware & chinese already removed. Later I also removed all Chinese keyboard & other chinese options with the help of XDA forums. At present it's almost ok for me except some app like social network & sticky note widget which i need. It's rooted but can't push file via ADB ROOT as it gives error "adb cant run as root on production build". tried to copy paste files directly to system/app folder, change permission & restart but all in vain.
If possible i will prefer to reinstall these apps some way.

[Q] process com.motorola.contacts gone

Ok I got zealous and killed it in my quest to delete all bloat ware. I did not think that this would be a problem so I did a factory wipe and reload. After the reload it is still gone is there anyway to load this back in?
phone info droid 4 6.16.219 stock rooted.
Usually its a better idea to freeze apps with titanium backup then to delete them, but I did the same thing You have two options ( as far as I can see)
1. Find someone that has a com.motorola.contacts.apk ( I cant help you there, I'm on the ICS leaks)
2. You can fastboot the /system partition back using the Eternity Fla**** tool or whatever its called. Theres a thread for it somewhere, youll only need to flash the system image and not the entire rom (that will save you about a half an hour)
Oh and restoring to factory settings doesn't restore system apps you've deleted it only wipes /data and /cache, so all your settings and personal information are gone.

WhatsApp and SGT 2

Hello guys,
i would like to ask you if somebody of you found solution for WhatsApp messenger. I really like this messenger and want to use it on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (WIFI version) but didn't find any solution how to get it there and run it.
Thank you so much
Here is how you do it
Requirements:
Android phone with whatsapp and root
Android tablet with root
Any file manager that has root
permissions (eg. Root explorer)
Instructions:
1 - With root explorer go to folder /data/
data/ on your phone and find a folder
named "com.whatsapp"
2 - Copy that folder to your sdcard. If
you don't have a sdcard, copy it to your
computer with usb cable
3 - install whatsapp.apk from here . Do
not open it for now
4 - copy the previously prepared
com.whatsapp folder to /data/data/ on
your tablet with root explorer
5 - open whatsapp
6 - you now have a fully working
whatsapp on your tablet!
hmmm... I tried this but without success. It always give me error that Tablets are not supported
I recently read something about using a backup tool on your phone wuth whatsapp installed. Make a backup and then restore it onto the tablet.
I didnt read all the details, and have never tried it, but maybe itll help you out. Idk.

please help me with mobile data apk

So, this is my first Android device, my english isnt the best and I managed to root this tablet, then I installed root un installer, titanium backup, link2sd, and some others. My first problem is that using root uninstaller I deleted ye mobile data apk that came with the tablet among with games and stuff I thought I could delete, the only problem I have now is that I want to use an app called "psyphon" that allows me to have free Internet. But a friend of mine told me that I can't use it without mobile data activated. And that's the problem, I can't do it because I uninstalled it. I have searched for that apk but I can't find it anywhere please someone could help me?
I have another question with link2sd I moved some apps to the SD card but then I passes them to the phone and uninstalled link2sd now all the apps are movable to the SD and some of them won't work then I turn off then I turn on my tablet. I just want to know how to fix this because I only want to move to the SD cards the apps that will correctly work like in the past I did. I had to make an account here to make this board and I didn't know where to make this, please someone help me. I will rate or whatever but please someone help me I don't want my tablet broken or something.

You can factory reset your tablet in order to get rid of those problems. Also if it don't work try to flash original ROM of your tablet it will restore every thing and than try things later carefully
Do remember to backup your data before factory reset or flashing ROM it will delete everything.
Should I do it? I mean how can I do a total backup? I just can do it with titanium backup but only app by app not everything in just one click understand? T_T and I can't restore the original tablet rom because I never backed it so I cant and I have searched in Internet for it but I can't find it anywhere. It's a tablet from my country but I can't find the original rom anywhere. What could I do?

Samsung Smart Switch

Hi all,
Can Samsung Smart Switch restore/transfer 3rd party launchers like Nova? Can it restore all my apps data?
Thanks
No, but you can do the backup and restore with "Helium Backup", create a backup of Nova Launcher inside of Nova Launcher on a SD card and restore the backup on your Note 9

You can do a Nova backup to an SD card or to your Google Drive and restore to your new phone.
Doing a full phone backup and restore to new phone takes some work and time. As others stated above, for Nova backup your settings to your SD card, then put your SD card into your new phone.
For texts, calls and phone settings, Samsung smartswitch will do all of that. For apps AND their data you have to use Helium. Helium is slow and often takes many tries to get certain apps to fully migrate their data. I suggest backing up the app data from your old phone, then when you install the new apps on your new phone, just have Helium install the new apps fresh from the play store but let Helium add the DATA for those apps in as they install. That has worked the best for me at least. You can try to do full app and data backup via Helium, but that takes much longer to transfer the apps and data to your new phone.
I really, really wish Titanium didn't need root to do app/data backup and migration. Titanium works so much better/faster than Helium, but at least Helium works (most of the time).
Is Helium safe?
It will not mess with warranty, knox fuse, secure folders?

It's completely safe. Does not mess with any of those things. Warranty is safe. Helium is the only non-root app and data migration tool that works (to my knowledge).
I just tried Helium, it can't backup about 70% of my apps :'(
I need help to restore my GBWhatsApp Plus chats!
On Samsung Note 8 Android Pie, GBWhatsApp Plus 6.65 ([email protected]_hoak)
1. Did my phone backup va Samsung Smart Switch.
2 . Followed the steps to get the call recording function (https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/how-to/call-recording-android-9-t3846235/post78869864)
3. After my restore, when I tried to start GBWhatsApp and clicked the red button "Restore", loading bar appeared and app closes by itself.
4. Tried the following to reattempt s/n 3 but no avail:
a. Restarted my phone
b. Upgraded to GBWhatsApp Plus 6.70 (GBWAPlusv6.702.18.327_arm64v8a)
c. Restored GBWhatsApp application backup specifically from Samsung Switch
------------
P/S: I did not manually backup my chat in GBWhatsApp as I subconsciously treated that it was automatically backup-ed like the original WhatsApp / taken care of by Samsung Smart Switch.
Also, was trying to research on restoring GBWhatsApp chat backups and I stumbled on posts mentioning about GBWhatsApp folders on the file mangaer, however my phone shows WhatsApp folders instead, is this because I'm on the GBWhatsApp Plus version?
Is this all making any sense? Is there anything that I missed / else that I need to do successfully get my chats back?
Currently, I'm running GBWhatsApp 6.70 (from s/n 4b) in the meantime. Really want to get my previous chats back and later do a merge of previous and current chats.
Appreciate any kind help/advice on this! :crying:

1stly backup your whatsapp account to your Google Drive. Insert your GB SIM into your device and install whatsapp normally. There will be an option to restore from your back up,
This is the very reason why prefer Telegram over Whatsapp.

You're referring to backing up previously or currently? Since I'm on GBWhatsApp Plus, I don't see the option of auto-backup to Google Drive except manually clicking back up. What do you mean by GB SIM? Original WhatsApp? I'm confused

I felt the same when this happened. Unfortunately, most of my contacts on still on Whatsapp and I need functions from the GB mod.
