Without losing info? ... I think you could use adb pull command from stock recovery to pull the files you need from your phone to your pc, and then wipe data to remove the pass lock.

I need the phonebook from the phone and the messages.
I don't know the firmware from the phone but I think it's 2.3.6
Oooo damn, contacts? I dunno where the contacts are stored in the phone really, but I'll try to find out and get back to you.

So the phone isn't rooted...
If you just received the phone, how come you got your contacts in there in the first place... Anyway, you can try to use the adb command
adb pull /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/contacts2.db ./
with the ./ in the end
Send me a PM in our language with your problem. Maybe I understand better what are you talking about.
In the phone is not my phonebook; I just need to save the informations from that phone wich has a blocked pattern and ask for google account to unlock it.

There has been something around here about getting past the lockscreen, but it is only possible on Jelly Bean. The topic has to be here somewhere!

Hi!
I have a Moto X 2013 from Verizon. I am planning on sending it in for a replacement via Motorola. Since they give you a brand new phone, you lose all your data from it.
I have tried for ages trying to find ways on the internet.
Before I do this, I want to know for 100% fact that there is no way to backup my phone.
Key "fact thingies"
-Cannot enable ADB Debugging (There is a password on my phone)
-CAN ACCESS FASTBOOT (Verified by checking fastboot terminal)
-Buttons work fine.
Any help will be highly appreciated, and, if you can help me get my data backed up, I will reward you with the Steam game of your choice (Up to $15)

Okay, here goes.
My bootloader is locked (unfortunantely), I'd like to back up user created files, so music, pictures, videos, and the folders containing them, It has 4.4.4 rooted, and the password is, well, a regular password.

You can give it a try with a OTG adapter and USB keyboard attached, this way you can probably unlock the device, but you`ll need some blind navigation with the keyboard after that so you can reach the settings
Today or tomorrow when I got the time I`ll play a bit with that and I`ll see if I can help you.

I've played a while today with a keyboard and I can do everything, except to unlock the phone, the unlock ring itself cannot be operated with keyboard. Password input is okay, so it's navigation to Developer Options and enabling USB debugging is also doable..
There is an option to plug mouse first, try to jiggle with it and unlock the ring, since this is the only of few things you can do when your have password, then connect the keyboard, input your password and proceed.
After that there will be one more obstacle, which is to authorize you pc to access debugging, but this can be done with keyboard too, since it's a pop-up.
hm, not the easiest task, since your BL is locked, you cant install CWM, otherwise you could remove the pw with the aroma file manager out of CWM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2225695
Have you tried this?: http://trendblog.net/how-to-bypass-android-phone-lock-screen-pattern-pin-password/
And have you looked into this?: http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...ce-as-have-no-internet-connection/35848#35848
Another way would be removing the lock via cerberus, but this would require installing cerberus 1st on your phone and if your phone is locked but rooted but you cant access the phone directly or via adb then there isn't much you can do cause you have to access the phone somehow, either directly or via terminal / PC
Hello guys,
Is it possible to flash anything to the Redmi 4X Global if the bootloader is locked? Perhaps using fastboot, Mi Flash Tool or some unofficial tool I don't know about? Maybe using the device's IMEI numbers and SN? Just shooting in the dark here.
My situation:
Locked Mi account, credentials unknown. Want to reset.
Details:
A relative of mine works at a store that sells smartphones. Boss rarely bothers sending defective devices for repairs and often gives them to employees instead. A customer brought this device back because some of the pixels on the screen are dead. He said he had performed a factory reset on the phone. They gave him a new one and handed the "defective" one to my relative who noticed the Mi Account Locked thing upon booting. When I got the device yesterday, the battery was dead. I charged it a little bit and when it turned on, it went through the setup normally, I was able to use the device without issues for 30 seconds or so (!), THEN it locked me out! That makes me think that if I let the battery go down to 0 and wait before charging and turning it back on, that will give me enough time to go to developed options and turn on OEM unlock and USB debugging (which needs a SIM card I think for some reason but OK). Then I may be able to unlock it; but that requires a lot of waiting and is unlikely to work anyway.
If you have an FRP locked Samsung phone, you just flash the stock ROM through Odin and it's as good as new. But Xiaomi locks everything down so tightly, there isn't even a download mode (just reboots to system if I choose "download" on the recovery menu)!
Wondering if there's any way to bypass all this? I don't mind the risk of bricking it cause it's useless as it is. Opening the device's back and tinkering is not an obstacle either :good: In all honestly, I understand Xiaomi does this for security (although if Samsung doesn't do it, I'm not sure why Xiaomi even bothers) and it would make me feel better knowing if someone stole my locked Xiaomi phone, they wouldn't be able to use this, but at the moment it's simply frustrating. I also know that officially unlocking the bootloader often doesn't even work, gets stuck or you never get an unlock code (personal experience with broken Xiaomi unlocking system)...
Any info appreciated. Thanks in advance.
i have a bootloader locked redmi x4 and wanted to take its original firmware backup (requires edl-mode) before unlocking/rooting/tinkering the device (i always do this with all my devices), tried every possible solution (except test point) but couldn't succeed.
You can try with deep flash cable or patched fastboot if your x4 has an old firmware...
And as per my knowledge, shorting test points is the only solution for new/updated xiaomi devices to open edl-mode now, only then you can reflash it... Good luck...
if you find any other solution, please share. As currently i have to wait for 3 days before i can unlock my x4...

So, I Googled the Test Point method and it worked like a charm! Thanks for the info!! :good:
Basically you open the phone's back, you unscrew a small metal plate and then you have access to 2 tiny dots, the "test points", which apparently are built exactly for such purposes.
Instructions:
You unplug the battery (and the display I think although once it worked with the display plugged so don't take my word for it), temporarily connect the test points with a pair of tweezers or a paperclip ?, while the test points are connected you plug the phone to the PC and it miraculously shows up in device manager under "ports" as "Qualcomm 9008"! (Qualcomm drivers need to be installed. If it shows up as "diagnostics..." anything, you did something wrong).
The device is flashable in that state, you use XiaoMiFlash to flash a stock ROM (it's a folder that contains a folder named "images". The flash tool doesn't have you selecting specific files to flash, you need to select the whole images folder).
Pictures attached.
Left: the screws you gotta unscrew
Right: the test points and what you need to unplug
PS on opening the back: insert a flat narrow tool (best to have a smartphone repair kit) where the back plate connects with the front part of the phone (NOT where the glass meets the rest of the device). At first it won't go in but be persistent and patient, eventually it it. Wobble it back and forth and go slowly around the whole device the same way, paying attention not to wound the parts under the side buttons. Once you do that, it'll be possible to remove the back with your hands. Don't yank it because you need to carefully unplug the tape connecting the fingerprint sensor to the motherboard first
Or just wait a couple of days when you ask for a unlocked bootloader
Whatever floats your boat

Hi, I don't think you actually read the post. The device I got was completely locked, not just the bootloader. There was no way to remove the Mi account. Since the device does not normally have a download mode, there was no way to flash the stock firmware in order to factory reset it. The only way that I know of now, is what I did and described above

Locked bootloader and phone bricked
Hi,
I have a locked redmi 4x device which cannot boot to system. I can only boot to fastboot or to stock recovery. Since the bootloader is locked, I cannot flash TWRP or any rom. I have tried to apply for unlock permissions from xiaomi at http://en.miui.com/unlock/
but the link is greyed out for me. (screenshot attached)
Please let me know if there is a way to unlock my bootloader without the test points method. Thanks.
Your doing correct
Go ahead
Try using the Test Point, i use that to flash my new Redmi 4X from chinese version to global version.
Did it work?

Hi, as far as I know, there is no other way. The test points are there exactly for cases like yours and mine, where you need to restore a device to factory defaults. There's no reason not to try it. If you are careful, you won't damage the phone and it won't even show that you opened it.

Sorry for pulling an old thread but I was wondering if this solution would work in Redmi Note 3SD as I am facing the same problem i.e. locked bootloader and no option to enter developer options for turning on debugging options

Alrternate method found:
#1 To enter EDL mode (also known as Download mode) :
Make a 'Deep Flash Cable' by short-circuiting the 'Green' and the 'Black' wire inside the USB cable. I would better recommend you to buy a quality thick USB cable from a local store and tell the guy to cut open the cable and solder the green and the black wire to a small switch.
Now, power off your device and yes, make sure it's powered off. (In case the device is not getting powered off, see the images below for disconnecting and reconnecting the battery connector.)
If Windows 10 or 8/8.1, press 'Shift' key while restarting your computer. Now, go to Advanced settings - Startup Settings - Reboot, and if on Windows 7, reboot your PC and press F8 key before the Windows startup icon appears.
Now, select 'Disable Driver Signature Enforcement' from the list.
Connect the cable to your phone and pressing the switch, connect the cable to your PC. Your phone should not show as charging. Being sure that it's not charging, release the switch. You should now see your device recognized as 'Qualcomm QLoader 9008' under Device Manager. Voila ! You are on EDL mode.
Link for making your own Deep Flash cable : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmdrj4uX7gY
#2 To flash official MIUI ROM :
Download the fastboot ROM for your device, and download the latest Mi Flash tool from http://api.bbs.miui.com/url/MiFlash
I would recommend downloading the fastboot ROM with a separate download manager. Internet Download Manger - Recommended (https://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/download.html)
Also install 7Zip and WinRAR from https://ninite.com/
Now, first extract the fastboot ROM file with WinRAR and then re-extract it from the extract folder with 7Zip, and shorten the file names.
Having installed Mi Flash tool along with all its drivers ( I mean the popups asking for installing driver while installing Mi Flash), run it and select 'Clean all' from the bottom-right side.
Click 'Refresh' and it should show as 'COM10' or something similar. Now, click 'Flash'. And yes, that's it.
After successful flash, disconnect it from the cable and boot it up by pressing the Power key until it vibrates and turns on.
Yeah, you DID IT
*Why a download manager ? I had downloaded the file with Chrome and Firefox (without even pausing it), but even after successful flash, the phone does not boots into MIUI. It gets stuck on the MI logo. However, on using a download manager, the boot successfully completes without any hassle. I have used several download manager, but only IDM downloads the file with .tar extension which always and YES, ALWAYS results in successful flash. You can try out a different method but I would recommend you to play safe as my method is FOOLPROOF.
I have try this method before, but unfortunately it doesnt work. When i connecting those 2 pins, there are nothing changed in my device manager. No new hardware founds at all. I Have install these drivers too, no luck

Hi,
I've just semi killed my XT1965-2.
I've unlocked Bootloader with
Code:
fastboot oem unlock [unlock_code]
and flashed Magisk with
Code:
fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img
and worked fine. But, some months later, I've decided to remove Magisk and at the same time downgrade Android from 10 to 9.
Following the commands listed in this site, after it booted into Google Wizard, I thought it worked and then I rebooted to fastboot again and relocked the Bootloader with
Code:
fastboot oem lock
, after that I realized that the command for flashing the wi-fi module was missing.
So what happened was that I have a phone that boots up but won't find any wi-fi network or mobile data to connect and it won't bypass as I have my Google Account activate no the device.
In searchs I've found this and, as I cannot flash any partition as I have my Bootloader locked, I've thought I could boot via
Code:
fastboot boot boot.img
and try to bypass the Google Wizard via adb, but no success.
The question is: is there another way a could use to access the OS to allow unlock bootloader again?
Via command that I'm missing or even adding the missing bluetooth modulo to the boot.img and making it available to the device and I can access the internet and log in the my account.
I hope I'm being clear enough.
Thanks in advance!

Just out of curiosity, why in the world would you relock your bootloader. That serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever, and as you have found out, can cause a myriad of issues. There is nothing to be gained by relocking the bootloader. PERIOD!

Okay, I didn't take it to the next step and offer him a solution. You are correct it was very inconsiderate. But at the same time, what I said is true. It appeared that it was when he tried relocking his boot loader that he ran into a problem. And there is no reason to relock the bootloader.

This was his way of knowing that, you and i, we have been here for a long time, i learned this years ago, now he knows it
Hi everyone, first of all I want to ask for your apologies for taking so long to answer.

Just out of curiosity, why in the world would you relock your bootloader. That serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever, and as you have found out, can cause a myriad of issues. There is nothing to be gained by relocking the bootloader. PERIOD!

Unfortunately I had to find out in the worse way. But I really didn't need to keep the bootloader unlocked as some banking apps just won't work this way and I needed to root for a unique propurse that was to access a sqlite database file.

Well, so your phone boots and everything, you only need to flash a newer build, go to https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/lake/, and find the newest build for your variant and flash it manually, after that you can boot your phone and unlock the bootloader again to do the downgrade correctly

If you dont know how to flash it manually, just tell me your variant and ill do a script to flash all the files

My device is Motorola Moto G7 Plus, XT1965-2.
I really, really appreciate your help.
I put myself at disposal for further information.
Thanks a lot.
PS: I've found some tools called Android Image Kitchen that could unpack and repack the boot image then I can boot it with
Code:
fastboot boot unsigned_new.img
but I don't know how to add the BTFM.bin to the extracted folders, and then repack, in a way that the device may recognize them.

I see. If I only had a way to connect to the internet and log in with my google account I think the problem would be solved.
But I cannot find a way to do so.
I already tried to put BTFM.bin in every folder and repacking using AIK, it boots up, but the system won't recognize the module.
I also tried using an ethernet and a wifi OTG without success as it should be enable in Developer Options.
Thanks anyway!

well if you want to connect to internet from PC to your android by USB you just have to use this tool and enable the OEM Unlock option
https://github.com/Genymobile/gnirehtet
I had a similar problem downloading the version of my Revvlry+ = Moto G7 Plus XT1965-T and then OEM was disabled and internet and baseband modem stopped working because I downgraded too low and with this tool I managed to recover.
but everywhere in the web I am looking for the way to restore the status of my device because in Bootloader Mode it says: flashing_locked. instead of telling me: oem_locked
and you can't remove the warning that appears every time I turn it on

Hi, darkherman,
thank you for you reply.
Unfortunately it won't work as according to documentation: "Make sure you enabled adb debugging on your device(s)."
I have to boot the system to enable it in Developer Options.
Thanks anyway!
Is there a way to bypass the Google Wizard and boot the system without logging in?
About the warning on startup I've read somewhere that's not possible because of some var value obtained from:
Code:
fastboot getvar allCODE]
Don't remember exactly what var, but its value may be 0, 1 or 2 that means locked, unlocked and relocked (not necessarily in this order)
-- runnig the above command I saw some variables such as securestate, verity-state and iswarrantyvoid than may mean something.
But, as far as I know, we have no command such as "set-iswarrantyvoid false" or "set-verity-state 1" or something like that.
Maybe this could be done by replacing/updating the firmware if possible, but I think it doesn't worth the risk of making the device irreversibly bricked.
Thanks again for your reply.
It seem there's no way to rescue it.
Gonna just give up and throw it away.
Thanks for those who tried to help!

Hi,
I've just semi killed my XT1965-2.....
This would be my last resort:
Might have to open it up and short the test points to get qloader edl mode to be recogized because I believe a blank flash.zip method will bypass from your sd card will reflash your device with an unlocked bootloader so you have fastboot access to flash firmware... I could do this but its not the best advice if you never have took apart a phone or know about test point shorting to emergancy mode.... Or If it is an unlocked no carrier phone buy you another just like it somewhere with an easy return policy and buy extra coverage for damage....Break the screen or whatever so it wont power up the return it and demand your money back... You would be out the price of the extended warranty...

Hi, thank you for your reply!
I really never have took apart a phone nor know about test point shorting so this is not an option for me. I could even try to do it but probably won't be able to mount it back.
It's a no carrier phone, but in my country, there's no so easy return policy that I know of, unfortunately.
The bypass won't work because the second pass, "Connect your Motorola Moto G7 Plus to your Wi-Fi", as I think this is the biggest problem, I cannot connect to Wi-Fi. I also tried the method suggested by @darkherman throught gnirehtet with no success.

If you can get your computer to recognise the device in fastboot mode using adb command to check its recognised you could maybe flash the 1910.35 raw firmware for it using the flashall_AFT.cmd within the firmware folder. I'm at work now but will provide more info later and possibly links to adb and firmware

Had a thought, saves me a lot of time re-writing it... Use the link to my thread that uses 1910.35 raw firmware with working links and steps.
As you already had WW 1910.35 version on the phone before, the fingerprint may have already been changed by you or the previous owner. Basically, ignore step 0. You can't boot into the android system to install the app which unlocks bootloader anyway.
Follow each instruction exactly in order of steps 3, 5 (ignoring the fastboot cmd to flash boot img), 1 then 2.
You'll be doing things in that order because you want to install adb fastboot first. In summary... After installing adb fastboot to the root of C drive on your pc, navigate to that adb folder in C drive, double click the cmd-here.exe. A cmd window will open. Then put the phone into fastboot mode and connect it to pc using the side port of the phone. Type and run the cmd 'fastboot devices' on that cmd window. If successful in recognising your phone it will show a serial number/device id. Then do steps 1 and 2
