the s6 camera is better but the display I do not think will be a problem at all.
Well, yeah but you're upgrading much more than you're downgrading. Living stuck with a software you don't like its the worst that can happen tp you in smarphones world, the software its the only spec of your phone you're on direct contact with so it's pretty important

Ofcourse!
I have the very same dilemma. Another concern is the warranty and support in case there are problems with the phone.
I'm currently unhappy with my S6 edge because of touchwiz and the battery for example. About 2 month ago my display broke and the fix would cost 260€ so I will buy a Oneplus 3t.
Gesendet von meinem SM-G925F mit Tapatalk
Imo it's an upgrade. One plus is very similar to Nexus and for that even if the specs were not quite up to par to a previous device with an overlay it's still a win. I'm grabbing a 3T in a month or so. When I looked at the Pixel and Pixel XL and the op3t and op3 I made my mind up immediately. Going to keep my eyes on pixel also and see what happens there but just not willing to spend 800-900 USD on a phone at this point in my life. ;p Why when we can grab a Op3T for so much less and it's very similar in specs. External sdcards are over rated imo and for Samsung type phones. I've been a Nexus user since the Galaxy Nexus and well actually the G1 and never seen a use for them after ditching Samsung back on the S4. Internal is fine imo and I'm not into all the little marketing features like Sammy has. I'll take a clean phone with little to no extra crap onboard with a good camera and battery and screen any day and that's what I see we have here with the One plus 3t. I've studied the Op3 forums and battery is unreal and camera is very good. Coming from my Nexus 5x I can't wait!!!!! I look forward to seeing all of you on the forums.

It burns battery and it's ugly imo. The are two kinds of people, one who likes tw and one who doesn't. Neither are wrong just different taste is all. I prefer Nexus phones or phones like them.. (one plus..) Development is better for Nexus and One plus and there's more of it and it's more stable than on a Samsung device. I know that from owning them all and seeing for myself. You just can't beat how AOSP runs on a device like One+ and how many devs work on them constantly. It's just personal preference is all.

And it even came before OP 3 got Nougat.. that's impressive from Samsung...I used the latest touchwiz Grace UX on Note 5 and Note 7 and it is way better than normal touchwiz...but with Note 7 debacle, I had to buy OP 3...

Can't say that in words.
If you look at that crap which is installed on stock roms you get headache and that brains the battery like crazy and slows the phone down.
And if is even with a theme ugly
You even need to sort apps in stock launcher by alphabet manually with a button ?
If you try it for one year you get sick of it trust me. Even with theme and Nova launcher.
Samsung itself recommend to restart your phone every day to get the best performance and that in 2016 ?

I plan to change the smartphone, and I have some ideas on my next smartphone I want to choose and I solicits your opinion on this choice, I wish to have constructive answers please.
I want a smartphone that is either Xiaomi MI-2S or the the samsung galaxy S3.
Your opinion?
Thank you in advance.
Go for mi-2 if you want to be stuck with miui, as xiaomi didn't released kernel sources. S3 will give you more freedom in roms to choose from
But level performance the mi2 is more strong than the Samsung galaxy s3, and more low level of price.

maybe it is, but you can't install anything else than miui on it, because there is no other rom for this phone... why don't you try nexus 4? it have really great dev support (better than s3) and is cheaper than s3

I think 3-4 months is still early for Nexus 5. AFAIK Google's been always keeping about 11 months time gap b/w new Nexus....so in my view it'll take some time.
But still who knows what's Google planning.
I'm also in mood of buying Nexus ( 4 ) but part of me wants to wait for Nexus 5.
why don`t wiat and buy galaxy 4 or samsung galaxy nuxes ???
The best reasons why i prefer the Xiaomi MI2S is the ration price/performance/quality and the xiaomi is the best after what i saw.

but with no tweak you get better performance as a nexus 4 overclocked, which can be broked.
So if i compare the Nexus 4 and the Xiaomi MI2-S without hesitation i take xiaomi.
I know how many people hate on touchwiz, but especially with this huge device it has some useful features. Is there, or has there been a port of touchwiz as a rom? AFAIK touchwiz is still on 4.4.4, but once it gets updated will there be a release as a rom?

Probably not. Touchwiz isn't open source, so making a port would take a lot of work. Also, even if it gets working the developer could get a cease and desist from Samsung.
In that past, there have been some custom ROMs that have some similar features that Touchwiz has in the past, like multi-window.
Why on earth would anyone put Touchwiz on a Nexus? That's like putting cheese wiz on caviar, how dare you! Multiwindow support would be cool but I am not willing to deal with Touchwiz for that feature.
I think I just puked a little. [emoji24]

I'm not going to tell you that TW doesn't have good features, but these can be added in with a much better light weight ROM than TW. Multi window isn't hard to add, we just need lollipop support for it unless Google makes their version official.

Android Police showed Google having multi window in lollipop (maybe 5.1?) It was a couple of months back I'm sure you could Google it. Also Paranoid Android should bring multi window if they build for the Nexus. In time it all come

My guess is that there will be thread for it, developers will try. Probably get it to boot with literally nothing working. And abandon. I have only seen one OEM proted to another which was they got a functional sense rom for Nexus s. I tried it out and it was very lagy then again the rom was like 3 years old, so who knows it could have been smooth back in the day before google made all kinds of changes to GPS. I have seen many try and port another OEM to another and pretty much ends with not barely booting rom if it even gets that far. I will welcome any oem rom that is functional but is likely not going to happen

The amnoyance in regards to this is that both the Note 3, S4 & S5 seem to have had a wider rollout so far than the Note 4. Likewise Samsung's PR were promising a rollout to Android within a couple of months of its final release when the Note 4 was released and thar seemingly has been abandoned too. It just leads to user apathy and distrust.

Hoping for honesty from the PR arm of an international chaebol is like nicely asking a stone if it wouldn't mind bleeding a bit. It also assumes that they are even remotely interested in providing these kinds of updates, that they communicate with the developers, and that they have that information in the first place. They've done their job already - you've bought a Note 4, so why should they care? Besides which, if they've already stated a timeframe previously, and been unable to meet it, they're going to be very cautious about announcing anything else apart from "it'll be ready when it's ready", and even that is unlikely compared to simply remaining silent.

Sweet. I'll just enjoy that sexy Material OS on gingerbread. Ah nope. Can't do that. What about speed and efficiency? I can enjoy that. Ah nope. Not on GB either. Hmmm. What about those awesome notification cards. Ah nope. Still no luck. Thats ok I'll just make an app to enjoy using Level 21 API. Nope can't do that either. So I can send texts and make phone calls. I sincerely hope this post is a joke; if I merely cared about apps I'd own an iPhone.
I bought a 800€ smartphone i espect to have the lastest and best software. Thats why so many people is going from android to iOS. If you have a iPhonne 6+ you have the lastest iOS. Next time a change smartphonne i am going to think twice before have Android or iOS, and for me Nexus line are no option, ugly and overrated. For me Samsung or HTC or LG (this two allready have 5.0 Lolipop)
I updated my Moto X 2014 to lollipop and it made it slower, worse battery and it stuttered more than it did on kitkat. Also with all the problems people were talking about on most of the phones that got the update(not just Samsung) why are people in such a rush? Google really messed up with lollipop.
I would like to get the S6 TW though.

iPhone are great for fluidity and fast updates, but they lack the customization and freedom that android offers even with Jailbreak.
Also , I don't know if you need glasses or not, but the note 4 camera beats the iPhone any day in good light situations...both in photos and videos.

Their official forum is super cluttered with all kinds of unnecessary questions and people posting there are not very technical, which makes it very hard to troubleshoot issues. Mostly, people are begging for an update on the forum
After this bad experience, I bought an N5 and kept it stock. Never been happier

Yeah the battery is a bit bad. I have to charge it every day at about 23:00 when i go to sleep. I don't use it much at work but yeah, the battery does drain pretty fast. Still, Never had a phone with 2 days battery life so it doesnt bother me I have to charge it every day. I prefer to have a super responsive phone with battery issues , instead of a xiaomi phone with lots of bugs and stuff in its system and good battery life. I guess its the lesser of two evils for me.
Still, wouldn`t recommend anyone mi phones,
I use a LG G3, 2 years later, looking at LG G5... Its ugly, smaller screen, no back buttons, no wireless charging, disappointed, so... now looking at P9 Plus as the best phone out there... Where are you coming from? And why the interest in the P9?

P9 plus will be expensive..
For me apealing features :
64gb+4gb+DualSim+IrBlaster+5.5InchScreen+FingerprintReader+DualSpeakers
(Other main features are add on for me ?? )
Like force touch+3400mAh+price+......
ALL THESE TOGATHER....finally!!!
Is there any phone with same or more features combined
Yes there was a phone with almost same features. ...HTC ONE ME but screen little small and Zero development.... so sad
Hope P9 Plus will get good support from Devs here in XDA
I am interested in the P9 Plus or the HTC 10, I'll be coming from a HTC M9+, I am also interested in the big screen, IR and stereo speakers. I just worry about the speediness of Huawei on OS upgrades. Not sure the P8 has officially got Marshmallow everywhere yet, so Lord knows when you'd get Android N with the P9 or P9 Plus

Totally agree, this is like the phone I've been waiting for since I got my G2. Unfortunately to me the 3rd party dev support is what's gonna make it or break it...
I've been a loyal BlackBerry user for as long as I've had a smartphone: 9000, 9800, Z10, Z30 and currently Passport. Unfortunately even I've had to admit that BB10 is in it's final death throes. I flirted with the Sony Xperia S between the 9800 and the launch of the Z10 and the 3rd party ROM development was a big attraction. However the spec of the P9 Plus ticks all the boxes and coupled with the fact that I'm a Leica owner anyway, the draw (gimmick) of the Leica tie in, means that even without the ROM development the P9+ is likely to be my next phone.
Do any of you know when this is coming to NA?

D855 NN 3.0 STOCK 30C
Coming from the 1+1, i dont like the screen and touchscreen sensitivity.. If the 9+ gets CM or AOSP Roms i will buy one. Altough i wanted the SD 820 more.

I'll thinking about the P9 Plus, G5 or HTC M10 .
So sick of Samsung with it's crapphones that going to die after mostly 1.5-2 years . Happend to my s3, s4, s5 active and now my Note 4 - after 3 months.
I hate this company at all.

SII was the BEST phone of all galaxies until 6 edge released, on SII was all nice and smooth
Planning to come from Note 2... if everything goes well... especially price and dev support.

I hope the dev community gets even a little support, because I plan to come from a ZTE Axon Elite, the Mate 8 has a decent amount of dev support including ROM's and stuff so hopefully the P9 Plus does too. Other than that, the AMOLED display, the faster more efficient processor, bigger battery, and (hopefully) better camera are drawing me over my current device, I would highly doubt audio is better though.
I am coming from windows phone

Here are a few articles on P9/Plus.
==>
weak:
-****ty default UI & bloatware
-camera is decent but not breaking headlines
good:
apart from the weakness, all is superb
==>
so if someone from xda released an excellent and stable custom rom 6 month after release, this will fix the ****ty UI and bloatware problem, and the phone shall be one of the best on the market. Yes?!
If so i'm gonna make the switch from my iphone 6 plus
Have a Sony Z2 since release and searching for a new phone. I am interested in the camera, big memory and battery. Seems like a great phone! Hope the "bugs" will be fixed like battery drain and something with the SD-card not being able to behave like internal memory (please correct me).
Only a month left until I am able to buy a P9 plus. Oh, it is not shipped with the possibility to use 2 sims here in Sweden.

I came from an iPhone 6s plus and i must add that im blown away by the speed and smoothness of this phone.
Another thing to consider is the sustained performance that the phone can deliver, i haven't noticed any throttle after 1+ hours of gaming.

@ipsuvedi, it it going to be launched in India? If not, where else should we buy it from? Is alixpress trustworthy?
