Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
Some more detail as to what you are trying to flash would be helpful...stock ROM? Upgrade? Downgrade?
At any rate, I am connecting this thread to the forum your device experts can be found in:
> Moto G (2014) > G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Please note, to include details asked above - or to respond to replies - you will need to register for an XDA Account.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
ive bricked my moto g xt1072 when i accidently skipped one of the commands to flash the aosp rom for my phone.. it failed at the first one, and the second one "mfastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img" and it said ok.. now what? i was on android 6.0
After trying to root my Moto G (xt1068) and getting stuck in a boot loop, I tried to restore a functioning version of Android and I got stuck in the middle with a re-locked bootloader because I followed an instruction online that seemed to work for some people (...).
So, now the bootloader is locked, the device only boots into fastboot, and has no proper system image installed right now. I have tried flashing various Marshmallow builds for the Moto G (Brazilian ones mostly because I did not find a German one until recently). Now, I have found a German version of the Moto G (2014) Marshmallow stock ROM, but it still does not solve the problem. The version is
titan_retde-user 6.0 MPB24.65-34 31 release-keysMSM8626BP_1032.3116.99.00R
Upon trying to flash boot or recovery, the phone itself says "version downgraded for recovery" and the terminal gives me the following result:
target max-sparse-size: 256MB
sending 'recovery' (10280 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.349s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.772s
Does that mean that the version I tried was also not the current one? I was not aware that there was anything newer than Android 6.0 for the Moto G, but I will look for more possible ROMs to try.
I am using a Mac but I have access to a Windows 7 PC if necessary. Any advice or help would be highly appreciated, thanks in advance!
I have a Moto G 2014 LTE XT1079 (Asian Model-Bought in India).
I do not have any OS installed.
I have unlocked the bootloader as on Fastboot screen it shows as Unlocked.
So i have downloaded the Stock Rom for Asian Model XT1079 which is required.
Whenever I try to flash it through Fastboot,
it gives me an error in 'fastboot flash partition gpt.bin' and also 'flashboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1'
The error given is (bootloader) Preflash Validation and just below that FLASH (remote failure).
I have been working on this for a period of 13 hours straight and have lost all hopes. It would really help if anyone can help in this. I have attached a photo of the files in the Firmware Folder.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP
