Hi,
Does anyone running the Beta use Poweramp and managed to get lock screen widget to work?
I am not talking about the Poweramp lock screen that goes on top of the normal lock screen, just the standard playing controls and album art that show up when music is playing.
I have set Poweramp as my default music player but it doesn't work despite the fact that all worked and I didn't change anything from before to after installing beta.
Other music apps such as Google Music and Huawei built in music app show on lock screen without changing any settings but Poweramp does not and I have tried every option possible.
Maybe Poweramp need to do something for it to work with Nougat?

No one replied you? I have now recently update to nougat (c432b361) and I see still the same "bug"?
did you find if it is due to emui 5 or poweramp?
Hi,
I joined Poweramp Beta and somehow got it to work after messing with settings..
It's EmUI 5, I still have crashes if I try and use other launchers with Poweramp and other widgets so stuck using stock for now

Ok but on normal app there are no settings that can help to workaround?

I remember, way back in the day, when my phone was stock and I thought it was so cool that my music controls would appear when I hit the power button to unlock the screen. Then I thought it was even cooler that I could control Pandora (I forget if it was through lockscreen or through notification bar) the same way.
Now I'm rocking Continuum 5.5 and was wondering if there is something I can do to enable non-stock music players to be controlled through the lockscreen or notification bar without having to add any widgets to my homescreen or without having to download any extra apps. I even hate having to drag the little CD icon down on the lockscreen when I'm using the stock music player. Basically I'm really lazy and would like to control both Pandora and my new Google Music app through the notification bar and hopefully even the lockscreen and I'm very picky about having widgets and such.
tl;dr: can I control non-stock music apps through lockscreen and/or notification bar without having to download any apps or add any widgets?
I would live that too, my stock music player controls dissapeared when I unlock the screen now
Check out Power Amp in the market. Does what your asking and more
Now if it only was a light sabor too....
I know Symply and Subpression did this for all lock screens. Samsung based lock screens work with Samsung player, other lock screens work with any other player, don't know for sure Pandora, but I thought they did. I ran symply for a while, buts its not as stable as continuum.

Well... the whole point is that I don't want to download any extra apps other than the ones I use, i.e. Pandora and Google Music. Besides, I've used PowerAMP in the past, when it was still free and I thought it sucked. Way too bloated with crap I don't need and a terrible UI.

I've tried all the lockscreens that come with Continuum 5.5 with Pandora, Google Music, and Winamp, and none of them had controls on the lockscreen. I'm also wanting controls in the notification bar again, I miss that too.
I see that in the description for the "Obsession" ROM it says that a few of its lockscreens will work with ANY non-Samsung music player. Can someone running that ROM confirm whether it'll give me lockscreen controls for Pandora and/or Google Music? Thanks.
Did we find a solution to this???
Continuum 5.6 has music controls on lock screen. Not sure about pandora though. I'll check it out in a few

Yep works with pandora

So to answer your question, you can upgrade to continuum 5.6 and that will give you like four different lock screens that will have music controls for non-stock music players and pandora on the lock screen. As far as notification controls, they don't seem to be there.

How about for Mosaic?!

Wow, the music controls only work on the Epic and Glass lockscreens. Lol...

if you are referring to stock music player and continuum 5.6 then yes. But on 5.6 there is 9 lock screens., and several have music controls that work with any non-stock music player. Goto settings/lockscreen menu/lockscreen

Nope, I'm on Mosaic IV.
How do you get the miui lock screen to work on continuum 5.6 to look like the screen shots? Mine just has the lock slider on the left and the volume slider on the right. No music controls, and doesn't have the buttons like all the miui screen shots have.

Try posting in the rom's Q&A thread
Just added smart notifications to Media Utilities which basically adds notification controls to applications that have not added them yet like Pandora. Will automatically hide notifications if you switch the anther media app.

Hey all, I'm on the latest update there is for my C6903 and I have just noticed the music player controls no longer show on the lock screen when music is playing. It's not the end of the world as my headphones have music controls on them but it seems odd after all this time for them to be gone.
I've tried all the usual methods of adding widgets to the home screen but nothing changes, the clock remains!

Hi,
Do you have SmartKey installed on your phone by any chance? I've noticed that since the last update, the music control widget has disappeared from the lock screen which is quite annoying if you're using a headset with no remote control as I do. The only solution I've come upon until now is uninstalling this app. It used to be that if you disabled the 'music mode' on the app, the music control widget would reappear but that doesn't work anymore.

No problem. This thing drove me crazy once. By the way, I used my Xperia Z1 today and although I have SmartKey installed, the music widget is back on the lock screen. There has been no update since the last time I've used the phone and I haven't changed any of the settings. Quite weird...
I've gotten more or less happy with the standard EMUI launcher, which with a little tinkering works nicely enough. BUT! The lockscreen is horrible, it doesn't show music controls unless the app is set as standard for music. This is hopeless as i often use different apps. Tidal/Poweramp for music, PocketCast for podcasts and Orange Squeeze controlling my Squeezebox.
It seems that it's possible to change lockscreen back in EMUI 3, but that doesn't seem to work in EMUI 4. Anyone know if it's possible to change to AOSP Lockscreen?

Well u can install the many lockscreens available from the Play store.
To disable the EMUI lock, enable developer options and there is a screen lock option in that.. Toggle it off
Nils lockscreen notifications has solved my issues until I get root. It's in the playstore.
Thar looks interesting, but the settings screen on this phone really confuses me. They've moved everything around
How did you disable notifications on the lockscreen?
Sent from my EVA-L09 using Tapatalk
I actually like it as this phone offers more control once you know where everything is (takes some time getting used to for sure ).
-->If you use magazine lockscreen (stock huawei) the option to turn them off is in the display settings.
-->If you set any other lockscreen theme in the theme selecter they automatically get disabled (that's what I currently do). And the option in the display settings goes away!
So is there no way to show music controls on the lockscreen without a third party app? The lockscreen does show my notifications (when set to magazine) but nothing when playing music or podcasts, for example using Podcast Addict.

Nils has lockscreen support for certain music apps but only a few... (using "nex music" atm)
Basically the huawei lockscreen sucks. Can't wait to get root and disable it. From what I've read the stock android lockscreen is there but only activates once you manually disable the huawei lockscreen. But I need some clarification on warranty before I unlock the bootloader.
The huawei lockscreen app is called "Keyguard" as far as I know, you could try and disable it if you have root.
Tbh if root can get rid of the lock screen that is reason enough to root it.
While everyone wants to get rid of the magazine unlock I need to restore it after flashing with a different firmware from B636 to C432, how do I restore the magazine unlock as it is now missing under the settings menu ?

I am not sure if the C636B170 at about 3GB is a full stock rom but that is what I did.
Hi all,
The only thing that drives me up the wall is not being able to have my set alarm time displayed on the lock screen as I do use my alarm few times throughout the day.

Same thing happened to me (flashed B190 from B130). And even flashing it back to B130 didn't restore the magazine lock.
Found the default themes & wallpapers here
These seem to be mirrors from paulobrien, also an XDA user, however the links in his thread didn't work for me.
EDIT: original thread from paulobrien
and the default wallpapers/images here
Hope that helps mate, has taken me all night trying to find it all. Not sure why it's not included in any of the full roms I've downloaded & flashed.
Try here: https://plus.google.com/+AniketKumar_dev
I installed Dark Red Metallic theme on my P9 and it is a big improvement over stock. Iirc it possibly shows controls on lock screen too.

Hi, I have a Mate 9 but it might be similar.
I can't disable the EMUI lock in the developer options. It is greyed out saying: "Disabled by Administrator, encryption policy or credential storage"
Any idea. I really don't like the EMUI lock screen. Stock is so much better.

I can't seem to toggle it off it is grayed out any way around this?
same problem with my new mate 9. The magazine unlock is useless and annoying. I can't be bothered to take the extra step when unlocking the phone (I am used to swipe pattern and that's how it should be for me). Now, how to turn it off without taking the radical step of having to install new firmware..
Get the huawei themes app. Not the stock theme up but if you search the name on playstore you will find it. I use this to get access to other themes like copying other brands etc.
You get additional lock screens within that. If you just do a search of lockscreens as well, there is a good choice on the store.
thanks, now instead of changing the theme, what can we do to disable it?
Anyone know how to remove the magazine unlock if I've rooted the phone? I have no idea how to change it to something else.
Hi all,
So i've had the Honor 9 Lite for a short while, and I love it. Major upgrade from CM Nexus 5.
I don't want to root my device, and so I've managed to have the phone the way i want it....almost.
I use Google Music, and on my Nexus 5, I had the widget on my lock screen, rather than the full screen album art. And i loved it. I could see my wallpaper, and just use the widget for music control.
however with the honor 9 lite, when I disable the album art, it still shows a full Google Music lock screen, just literally with no album art.
Is there any way to change this to the widget? again, I dont want to root my phone, and I've tried looking for other lock screen options/apps, but maybe i've missed it.
This had happened to me at some point last year and I found the setting to get rid of it but now I can't find it please let me know where it is in settings thank you very much. I have already checked settings > lockscreen > widgets and music is disabled. Media player still exists on lockscreen.

bump for help please thanks
While the media is playing, there is no way to disable the widget. It's one of those "features"!

I've had this phone for over a year and I was able to disable it before and had it functioning without that widget on the lock screen for the last year straight.
So what you said couldn't possibly be true as I did have it resolved. Just the stupid update created a regression.
