Hi, i can't find anything to do and i'm so desperate to fix my phone, i'm from mexico and i have a 626s with Telcel as a carrier, today i was going to wipe data with twrp but, because of my lack of experience i did it wrong, i went to advanced wipe or something and erased everything from the phone, having the message "not os installed, are you sure you want to reboot?" in twrp. so my problem here is, can i do something to fix it? is there any RUU, rom or backup that i can flash again or am i screwed?
Also, as i write this i remembered that i've already downloaded a backup, but everytime i try to flash it into the phone it says "select partition to restore" with nothing to chose, what is that for?
Already if you have something to say thank you. And sorry for my english if there was something that you didnt understand.

Restore the phone using RSD. Very simple. Simple search will give you the answer. Just a reminder. You should always have a backup before flashing any ROMs. ESPECIALLY stock, that way if something like what you said happens. You can easily recover. Hence the custom recovery Wiping it clean on accident is also difficult. Not sure how one does that. Hope you're using TWRP.

Ok, i already downloaded RSD but i cant find the stock firmware for the phone. Yes im using TWRP, and you asked how he wiped it up, he was selecting the items to wipe and misclicked on system.
Another Method
Install ClockWorkMod Recovery. (Phil's touch CWM). This has the option to mount storage as USB drive. use this to copy the ROM you want to install in the phone. Then disconnect phone and flash the ROM. :good:
TWRP does not have this option. or atleast i have not been able to find it. I know CWM has it because i screwed up once like this with my old phone, and did this to get back to normal.

Sites with STOCK Moto roms for the X are listed in this thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/info-tip-web-sites-official-leaked-roms-t2923347
Or download the correct sbf, extract, flash in bootloader.
I can access the CM12 Recovery but thats it. I have tried with many nightlies sideloading through adb or just from the sd card but it still isnt working. I don't mind downgrading but I can't work out how to.

No offence but that's crappy advice, imo. If you tell people that the only way to recover from a soft brick is by restoring stock, you'll help raise a full generation of idiots. Flashing a stock .FTF can do many things if you don't know how to use Flashtool, including wiping the internal storage (which I'm sure OP doesn't want), and is only really necessary if nothing else works.
@H0lmEd: Try flashing the TWRP recovery (2.8.5.0 is the latest available version) and while you're at it, flash the boot image of the nightly you've downloaded. Boot into TWRP, then backup your data partition (if you have any data on there that you'd like to restore later). Then wipe /system, /cache, /data and dalvik (basically anything but your SD card and internal storage), and flash the ROM zip. You should be up and running again.
If you want to restore any apps and such, you can try just restoring from TWRP, or (preferably) using an app (like Titanium Backup) to restore your apps and their data from the recovery backup.

While that was not my intention, and I do feel apologetic, that doesn't change anything. I don't know why you felt the need to write this.

I believe that your intentions were good, as were mine; I was simply pointing out that your advice is valid and satisfactory, but that there are many methods that are more efficient and overall superior.
You are free to remove your account should you so please, but having somebody correct you is no reason to wish to do that -- must I switch schools (or worse, commit suicide) because my math teacher corrected me when I had made an error!? We're here to help other people learn, both you and me. There are hundreds upon hundreds of people that know better than both of us, and we are here to learn from them. Taking the comment of your advice to your heart is no way to go about it (or anything else in life, for that matter). Instead what you should see is a short critique of your advice, followed by a comment on what is better and why that is so -- see the knowledge and helpfulness, don't stop because you did something that wasn't perfect.
And though my comment was not meant as a derogatory one, I do see that my poor choice of words could and, in fact, should, be improved upon.
I have been experiencing certain issues w my phone and decided to do a factory reset.
Originally i was getting the TWRP loop when my celluar phone provider was trying to push an update.
Well after doing the factory reset, it went into TWRP. I"m not sure why, but that's where I am. I currently do not have an OS installed.I tried downloading a purenexus_shamu-7.1.1-20170215-OFFICIAL rom through some thread that I read, hoping to get a rom installed (excuse my terminology)
The system updated the partition, flashed itself, but still boots into TWRP.
I was at times able to get into the Pure rom? But then it had no apps. not even google play for me to use to download more apps.
Can someone pls provide a step by step of what to do to get me back up and running and disable this TWRP program permanently?
Thank you.

Well, the question is:
Honestly... Did you ever read the PureNexus thread?
Check this post for a detailed install (Google apps links in first post):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61653759&postcount=4
If you want to start fresh, just flash a factory image of your choice (I advise the latest)
Follow this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/guide-flash-factory-images-nexus-6shamu-t2954008
Backup your datas first...
Don't flash userdata partition if your phone is not a 32GB model...
Also, don't mess with your phone unless you read enough and know what you are doing otherwise you could break it for good...
i was able to install it and get the gapps running
the problem is it didnt fix anything
i still cant really work the dialup unless it is via bluetooth. (am forced to reboot to be able to use the phone during a call)
my front facing camera still does not work.

Hi... I'm currently using PureNexus myself and never encountered such problems... I guess you'll have to report your issues in the PureNexus thread with proper logs...

Follow the guide posted above to get it back to stock. There shouldn't be a calling issue on that rom. Must be something janky during the flash process. Just get back your phone e to stock and see if everything works.

Ya forgot your gapps...
Please read more... Flash less... Don't be a dummy... It's expensive... And it's supposed to be a phone
Hi Im feeling really bad to my stomach as Im typing this.
I was trying to enable camera 2 api and Dolby atmos.
I flashed TWRP and booted into it (so I could install zips and for it to go back to stock recovery afterwards so I can get OTA)
I tried installing the camera 2 enabler but it didnt work, the Dolby one did work though.
But when i hit reboot it just stuck on that Mi logo, please please help!
I tried going back to TWRP and flashed the TWRP image as recovery (I figured it didnt want to boot because it didnt recognize the recovery) but still nothing.
I really dont want to have to erase everything. I didnt do a backup :crying:
Im running the latest stock global rom btw.
Edit2; Bootloader is unlocked, the phone is NOT rooted.
Is there a way I can prevent data from being lost? I can enter TWRP and I see there is a "BACKUP" option, can I maybe save some of my data? Im guessing my most important stuff is my Whatsapp convos and pictures. I have a USB OTG I can connect to it too.
I am desperately updating this thread in hope for someone to reply and searching MAO for any solution
UPDATE, I did it!
If anyone is as NOOB as I was, please, its even written on the TWRP WEBSITE WHEN YOU DOWNLOAD THE THING. YOU NEED TO DISABLE DM-VERITY. THIS IS EASILY DONE BY FLASHING LAZYFLASHER!
Im almost embarressed.
Dear Mod, feel free to do whatever with this thread, even though you guys didnt have the time to help it still felt comfortable knowing that you are out there somewhere caring. <3
Hi, so I'm having the exact same problem but cant fix it. If you thing YOU are a noob when it comes to phones trust me I'm worst haha. Do you think you could explain to me what u did exactly?

EDIT
You just have to know, that there are some ways to restore everything
In my Case I had Bootloader unlocked already (ofcourse)
And I just was stuck on the TWRP Part... I never knew that was soo easy, but you just have to do it properly.
I will make an extra Tutorial now, because it will save many people from going insane
Because of this I didn't sleep for 40 Hours now already, because I was deeply shocked and some very very nice Pictures and important Communications would be gone... and much work in Optimization etc. etc.
Yes!
Link will follow here!
Here you go for the Solution!

Hi,
I just tryed to update from beyond rom 5.2 to 5.8 and so I flashed it...
Then I got a Bootloop, because I didn't updated TWRP before.. so I got into my TWRP and flashed TWRP...
But after that I could not got into TWRP anymore, maybe because I forgot to add multidisabler..
So I flashed stock rom...
However Iam now stuck... I have important Data on the Internal SD and also the backup,
But I only come to the points where it asks me to delete all my data.
Is there any way possible to get the data?
Install TWRP somehow or get to a system?
Please suggest whats possible?
It's an emergency...
Hope you can help me & all who have this problem one day.
Best regards
I can only get to standart recovery, normal firmware & system doesn't boot - Bootloop...
I tryd to flash older firmware (ASH1, ASG8 & newer ASK1), but it doesn't boot system, always ask to factory reset and so on....
really ****ed up...
I hope there is another Way, then directly extract the data from the memory component... wich would be very expensive...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXDUhhyY2rE
basically the new flashed standart rom erases itself after first start, probably because it detects, that the system was modified before (beyond rom) then it reboots itself and there is no system anymore to boot, then it goes in a kind of pre recovery with the option to reboot, factory reset (including all data!) or reading a log...
DAMN I SHOULD BACKUP EVERYTHING ON PC... ALWAYS!
Still I really want to find a solution and I hope some pro can help on the S10.
No Solution for this.... it seems.
Omg i found the solution and got everything back
yes!!!! Great stuff
