Hey guys,
There are a lot of posts up on XDA with the Pixel XL's feature port for the Nexus 6P. But it gets convenient when everything's under one hood. Also not all are technically sound and well versed with flashing ZIPs, wiping the caches and so on. We need it simple! The common language that we all understand is that of apps.
I've come up with a Nexus 6P-exclusive app that puts everything together and makes it convenient for everyone to get all the features of Google Pixel XL with just a button click.
CREDITS:
gerad_f for his quick update! Please view his thread here.
PREREQUISITES:
1. Google Nexus 6P
2. Root Access with SuperSu installed
3. Android 7.1.1
4. Build N4F26J only (make note, otherwise your device will brick)
5. TWRP installed
NOTES:
1. This app doesn't have a roll-back-to-stock feature, though I'm working on it. In the meanwhile if you want to roll back, simply flash the stock 7.1.1. OTA ZIP which you can fetch from here.
2. There are a few features missed out in the package from Pixel XL though I'm working on porting them too. Read below to know more.
3. The in-app download as of now is about 161 MB so make sure you have enough data / internet before proceeding.
BUGS:
1. A weird one in Google Camera app that the HDR icon randomly disappears. (P.S. same camera version from stock) It requires a workaround which will be updated soon. Though, it isn't a bug with the camera. Just that the HDR icon inside the camera app doesn't show up!
2. In case your wallpaper app crashes, just follow,
i. Open any File Manager (preferably get Root Explorer from Play Store)_
ii. Grant it SuperSu access
iii. Head over to /system/app/Wallpapers-wallpaper/
iv. Just tap the Wallpapers-wallpaper.apk and install it
v. Now try setting a wallpaper to set it.
WHAT'S THERE:
1. Pixel Navigation Bar icons + animation
2. Pixel Live Data Wallpapers + Pixel Live Earth Wallpapers
3. Pixel Launcher
4. Blue Theme
5. Google Assistant
6. Pixel Round Icons
7. Fingerprint Notification Gestures
8. Cherry Picks Store that makes it convenient to select custom MODs and install them!
WHAT'S NOT THERE:
A full roll-back to stock.
DOWNLOADS:
Though the APK has been attached along, kindly take the efforts to download it from the Play Store (links given ahead) and also comment up there; that would be a great motivation for me.
PLAY STORE LINK:

Thanks and cheers!

Thanks a ton jonzey231! Please let me know if any modifications are required!
Awesome someone finally took the time to wrap it all up in one. A selection process would be nice for people who might just want the Nav Bar and not the Launcher, or any combination. Also I assume you'll be working on DP2 compatibility now?

I do want to ask though, every single time I unlock my 6P I get a little toast notification that says an app "has been granted Superuser permissions", I can't tell what the purpose of the app actually is. I even denied superuser for it and everything continued working just fine.
So can you just explain what all is in this?

Haha let's hope so. I just changed the build number in the build.prop to force the app to work anyways, and lets just say I don't recommend doing the same. Reflashing the system image now lol.

Umm, that's great input. I'll try to incorporate that in order to make it even more interactive - all in a subsequent update. Shall keep this post updated! Thanks CavyS !

Pixel Swipe is the app that requires SuperSu access everytime you unlock the phone and that's the app that enables fingerprint gestures for pulling down the notification bar!
The notification bar can be pulled down with a tap on the fingerprint sensor and a press and hold for a subsequent pull up. This is similar to the swipe down and swipe up feature on the Pixel XL. Kindly grant it manual SuperSu permissions for this add-on - it's quite cool, only that system reprioritizes background apps and at times it may not really seem to work at first. At such times, either wait for the system to resume the fingerprint service or manually just tap the Pixel Swipe app in the launcher - it doesn't have a user interface. The tap just starts the service and you're done. Tap the sensor to check its working!

Awesome! Great explanation, thank you. I just updated to DP2 and manually flashed your mods to no avail. Had to reflash the DP2 system image because I was stuck in a bootloop.
I have to say I agree with the previous comment as well that it would be great to essentially have an Aroma-style installer for all your mods. For example, I'm only interested in the launcher, nav bar with animation and the blue system them.
You've really done a great job getting all of this put together. Cheers!

Thank you senior!
I'll roll out an update that pulls in an aroma-style installer for specific features.
Just heard the news up here regarding the 7.1 NPF26F Developer Preview 2 OTA roll-out for the 2015 Nexus couple. My college's WiFi service is down till 4am after which I can grab hold of the 1.3 gig download.
I guess you can expect an update to this app by evening! You'll be notified to update your app after which you can fetch the same mod, but this time for DP2.
Kindly stay tuned and bear with me!

This is great! Thanks! Also, if you need any assistance with anything just DM me and I'd be happy to help out. I've got decent internet speeds. Also, I remember working on something for the Marshmallow preview back when it had betas for the N6 and we used torrents to share the files back and forth rather than uploading each revision.
In your torrent client, just go to File > Create Torrent and locate the file. Then all you have to do it upload the torrent file rather than the entire file. The more people using it, the better the download speeds. It really saved us quite a bit of time.
Thanks!

Wow that's great news senior! That would have been the perfect strategy with the help of torrents. It wouldn't be required in the current scenario, as I'll fetch it off their servers in exactly an hour and a half when my college WiFi would resume. Plus early morning speeds are slick when my peers are asleep!
Thanks a lot for your support senior, I'll surely need your guidance, shall PM you in which case!

Based on DesignGears Adeo (REDUX) v0.2
I know I have a lot of people to specifically credit/thank but it's 12:30am here and I'm ready to fall asleep at the keyboard! I will have to revisit this in the morning and check for any feedback you all have.
BTW, Battle:LA, AWESOME MOVIE!
So I did a bit of theming after I got the services.jar file edited to support transparency in the notification drop-down. I also made the following additions to the ROM:
AppWidgetPicker
Playstation App
Fenny's WebTop Mod
Adobe Flash 10.2
Titanium Backup
Larger APNs list (apns-conf.xml) for unlocked phones
This is packed up with the Adeo v0.2 update since DesignGears did such a great job of scripting that update. You *should* be ok to re-apply this over v0.2 but I have not tested that myself.
INSTALL AT YOUR OWN PERIL - THIS HAS ONLY BEEN TESTING WORKING ON MY OWN HANDSET

Also included in the download file are the icon/dock images I used with LauncherPro which you will see in the screenshots.
UPDATE: If you have issues with MotoBlur widgets after this update you will need to perform a factory data reset. Actually, if you use the Blur features, just plan on performing that reset no matter what.
PICASA WEB ALBUM (higher quality screenshots)
Reserved (10char)
I'm testing this right now. Thanks, it looks awesome. Also, you might wanna make sure that you tell people that they need Adeo 0.1 BEFORE applying this update.
(A Mod might move it though... >.<)
hey man i just tested it. i do have the never software flashed on it (the sbf file frmo teh forums), and it seems to work fine, however i saw a glitch or so to say, namely when i did the webtop over hdmi only, after disconnecting the hdmi, and pressing the off/on button to put the screen to sleep, i tried to get it from sleep again and the screen just stayed black no matter what i did, i had to pull out the battery and now it works again.
so it might be a glitch with the newer version and teh webtop hack.
works well and very pretty but,
my social networking is messed up. my contact widgets are not linked anymore.
it was cool to test out!, how do i uninstall?

Well, there were a lot of people having problems with their MotoBlur after the 0.2 update and I believe this "ROM" is based on that update so maybe a factory reset would have fixed it?

Yes, factory reset will fix it. I had issues with with Adeo .2 and a factory reset got everything working fine.

Yup, had to upload via dog sled to! It does have MotoBlur, no way of completely removing that right now. I just choose to use LauncherPro Plus instead of the stock MotoBlur launcher because I never use any of the Blur crap. If we ever get a custom recovery I will definitely work on a Blur-less ROM!
crnkoj, thanks for the feedback on the webtop mod! I have not even tried it yet but I'll probably play with that later this afternoon. If it continues being a pain I'll remove it from the updater.
songoghon, some people have reported that issue with blur specific widgets after the Adeo v0.2 updated (as mentioned above). The only solution which seems to work universally is a factory reset.
The primary reason for this mod/theme/pseudo-rom is for my own personal use which is why you guys might find glitches I don't see. Everyone uses their phones a little differently so I really appreciate the feedback!
I still have some ideas for the graphics since I really dislike the lock screen sliders and I can see a few small glitches. Updates will be posted as I work on it (and as I have the time).

yep, worked for me
is the link for the download the new one with the custome theme andother packages you listed?
I don't like that the messages app icon and email app icon are really small.. The trans. of the notification bar is slightly to transparent and cant read text very well maybe adding a white boarder to the text or changing trans. to something slightly darker. Really like the rest of it... Great job on this.. Keep up the good work...

+1 on that quoted section above. If those two Icons were normal sized - i would have no complaints period. Love the theme job here. Please keep this going and update it as often as you can. This is very nice looking. I love the Signal bar design
[edit] There are actually a few icons that got shrunk down to very tiny sizes.... Hope this is an easy fix and an easy update to those who have this installed
*bump* I know OP is limited on time available - just wondering if anyone else has found any issues with this mod. Anxiously awaiting next release!

You need to edit the build.prop located in the system folder. Recommend using winrar
/system/build.prop
Once there, you will open the file and edit it using a word processing program of you choice. Notepad is fine.
Use search/find button till you locate something that says this Default network type. # 4 => CDMA
From there change the 4 to a 3.
Then next to it you will see this ro.telephony.default_network=4, change it to 3.
Also change "ro.mot.phonemode.vzwglobalphone=1" to "ro.mot.phonemode.vzwglobalphone=0"
This should work, if it doesn't please tell me so I can try and help!

techno, you could try working with him and combining your builds or whatever, seems like he's pretty far along too and i think he might have the rotation issue fixed, not sure though, haven't tried it yet personally
it says rotation issue when auto-rotate is turned off, if that's any key to if thats closer than you are on the rotation bit

Haha, seems he has themes working if you flash a zip file which is interesting. I believe he could put those files in the rom file and get it working with one flash, but I will see if I can get it to work in one flash. Having Themes working would be great.
Sparky's port is pretty nice actually; I tested a couple of builds, but keep coming back to AOSP, because I'm familiar with it. Sparky is also experimenting with different bases (AOKP and CM9) for the ROM, to maximize battery life. He could definitely lend some assistance. Nice to see yet another option become available for the D3! Keep up the great work!

I'll make a backup of Gummy, and give this a test run tomorrow so I can give you some more accurate feedback. I'm pretty naive when it comes to MIUI, so maybe you could drop some knowledge on me...is there a way to alter/trick the Market, to show it as Verizon? I use apps like Bank of America throughout the day, and I know the MIUI market doesn't display certain apps. If there's a way to get that done, then I'm all in on MIUI!

Changing the build.prop should fix this for some apps, I would look on there site.

I will do some more research to find a fix for you later today and try a few things that I think will work.
I may be able to use Market Enabler to switch to VZW. I'll give it a shot tomorrow, and report back on how it works, just in case anyone else is in the same position I am. It wouldn't be a big deal if I didn't work in the financial field, but I end up needing access to US and foreign market info throughout the day, so I need a solid solution in order to use MIUI, and take advantage of the excellent features the ROM offers.

It seems that changing the build.prop will make the android market think it is a different phone, but I would rather not change that, I would give Market Enabler a try first.
I would look into sparky's port over at droid hive. You two should team up as opposed to have competing MIUI ports (IMO). Based on the bug list alone and my running of his work, he has a few things functioning that you do not.
The rotation issue I brought to his attention is that when auto rotation is OFF, it should only display in landscape if the phys keyboard is opened, but it does not. It stays locked in portrait.
---------- Post added at 10:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:58 PM ----------
also meant to say, i already have fix/solution for the theme folder, but he has not incorporated, I'm not sure why...

What is your fix? I already sent him a message on xda, but he didn't reply yet. I didn't know someone else made an MIUI rom for Droid 3 otherwise I would not have made this one, but since I did, I will continue to work on it. Maybe me and him can team up.

Not sure how I stumbled onto this page, but I am currently using IsaneMod's MIUI port for the Bionic right now, and I had this same problem. A few apps would not appear on the Market, acting as if they were not compatible for the Bionic. I got so frustrated, I flashed another ROM to get all my apps back. Well after missing MIUI on my phone, I flashed it again, thinking I could live without those few apps for a while. Well, I ended up accidentally fixing the market issue. For some reason, I thought you had to flash a Google Apps .zip after flashing the MIUI Rom, so I did. But I was actually incorrect as the Google Apps are a part of the ROM, but when flashed G-apps, I flashed what was supposed to be for an ICS ROM instead, but when I booted up my phone, my market had the apps I was once missing. However, I also lost a few icons for certain apps on my phone. Like the MIUI browser app was gone, and I had the ICS browser app instead; and a few other apps did this as well. They all still worked, but flashing the G-apps from that ICS ROM accidentally fixed my market issues. Yes, it was an unnatural way to fix the problem, but if you can find such a file to flash for MIUI on your phone, it may just fix the problem like mine did - as long as you can live without a few MIUI themed app icons. That is, until this problem is solved a more natural way. Anyways, just thought you might want to try this if you want MIUI on your phone but also need your important apps. I hope I was helpful. Good luck!
fyi, for the themes zip that you have to flash for Sparky's ROM, I did that and applying themes works for the most part...the text is sometimes messed up if the theme has a black text and when applying a theme to the Message app, it only changes the theme when you go into a conversation with somebody, not the inbox AND the conversation like it should
and somtimes the placement of things is a little off, like for the lockscreen i use the slider should be in the middle, but it is off to the left a little bit, probably a screen res issue or something from the port

Thanks, I already tried it and noticed the same thing, you should not have to flash a .zip for it to work though so I was looking for other solutions. I have just got to be missing something.
[MOD][THEME][APP][PORT]Sense 7 Blinkfeed Launcher & Apps For Nexus 6 - UPDATE 3/23
Sense 7 Blinkfeed Launcher for Nexus 6 & Some Blinkfeed Extras!
:good: Now Have One of Your Favorite Launcher Experiences Right on Your Nexus 6 :good:
The Development Thread Started By Gaku Gaku for All Versions of Bringing Blinkfeed to All Android Phones is at the Following Link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735764
Now, Sense 7 work has been taken over by xpirt, here's his OP link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/htc-blinkfeed-plugins-devices-08-03-2015-t3049438
If You Like This, Please Donate to xprit or Gaku Gaku. I Don't Do the Programming. Just Bringing Over to this Thread So It's Easier for You Guys to Consume! :victory:
All the Recent Developments are on the Last Pages of That Thread So If You Want to Help With the Programming, Please Post There & Here.
I'm on 5.1 Verizon Lollipop Build... Rooted & Stock... Due to instability with most custom roms and 5.1, I'm running stock right now until everyone works out the bugs
KNOWN ISSUES
- Since HTC still decided not to go with 2K screens for the M9. There's still a centering issue when trying to bring the Blinkfeed launcher over for Sense 7... Last time 532 DPI worked great for Nexus 6 with the blinkfeed launcher, however under 5.1 Lollipop it seems that Google changed something with the programming to not accept certain DPI settings causing an "optimizing apps" bootloop. With that said, it does not appear that this is a 100% issue with everyone but just so you are warned and don't get stuck in a "optimizing apps" bootloop, please be careful when changing DPI settings... fully power down, reboot, try creating backups to make sure none of these cause you bootloops. For me, I had to go to 520 DPI now... not as perfect as 532.... but no boot loops. Some experimentation maybe needed on your own. Make sure to do a "full backup" (cache, efs, system, data, etc.) before installing and changing DPI Settings.
- Although You Can Install Without Root Access. Some Functionality MAY REQUIRE ROOT at this point. :crying:
- FitBit & FourSquare apps will cause Feed Content not to Load due to Their Integration into The Real HTC Version. :silly:
- Animations in Weather App Require Separate File to Be Flashed In TWRP or Custom Recovery of Your Choosing
- BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP!!!!! THUS THE NEED FOR ROOT AND CUSTOM RECOVERY!!!
THE FILES
I plan to mirror the files here but for now use the xpirt's thread to get the latest updates:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/htc-blinkfeed-plugins-devices-08-03-2015-t3049438
This now includes working HTC widgets (clock widget!!!) including the new locations based home, work & away widgets....
Google+ plugin still seems to cause issues with login... all others work great!
They are working on getting some of other apps working as well (Camera, etc.) and trying to get themes working as well.
Omar1c also has been working on getting some HTC Sense 7 apps up and running for Nexus 6... He had a thread going that came out before Sense 7 was released, so he had to stop work on it. Hopefully now with the release of Sense 7, he will start work back up on it... (He has a working camera, file manager and music!!! but he will have share or give me the OK)
I am keeping the link to the weather animations as it still works with Sense 7 perfectly.
Weather App Animations
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57463857&postcount=7022
Weather Animations require being flashed in TWRP.
SUMMARY
Just so I don't get bashed up, once again, this all came out of the original GAKU GAKU thread here:

If you want to thank anyone for the programming to get these to work & have any technical questions, they might be a better resource. A LOT OF DIFFERENT PEOPLES WORK WENT INTO THIS. THANKS TO ALL OF THEM!!
My hope making a post over here in the Nexus thread is to maybe get some interest from some good Nexus programmers that maybe able to fix specific issues Blinkfeed has with our phones. Like the DPI issue and get some specific bugs addressed for us. Feel free to comment, help out or whatever. I personally like Blinkfeed, others don't, but I really like Blinkfeed on Nexus. :good:
Thanks!
SCREENSHOTS TO COME!!!!! :good:
COMPATIABLE ROMS *************** added 1/22
As I or Anyone Else Test ROMS with the Blinkfeed Port I will update this section and also give credit where credit is due!

2. PURE SHAMU - (Latest Version) - Must Have STOCK GAPPS at this point. Have yet to test other variations. Thanks to fethi2 for testing. 532DPI or 640DPI Recommended. See Above 1/20 Update on Post #1
3. DIRTY UNICORNS - Confirmed Working by johio360. He is going to send me his details of his setup in case there is anything special that is needed.
4. CHROMA - Confirmed OK. Works with the STOCK GAPPS. Did not try different GAPPS Package. This is going to be my daily ROM now behind BlinkFeed.
IF YOU WANT ANY ROMS TESTED, SEND A REPLY TO THE THREAD AND I WILL TRY SOME MORE! THANKS!

Just trying to get some development interest here directly for Nexus 6. Since the other thread is ALL android devices, some of the issues that we experience may not ever get looked at since GAKU doesn't have a Nexus 6 or to try to get some quicker fixes. Like for the DPI issue. Someone here might know how to fix that quick...
Plus the other thread is getting really disjointed as of late, so I was hoping to get some clarity for anyone that might be interested in using this Port and not having to dig through 100 pages of posts.
Not taking any kind of credit, just looking for some more directed help in making this perfect for us that want it... :highfive:

I'll try to look at it with pure shamu this weekend. Works with rooted stock which is what I am on. I would think that some of the clean up that is done when running a custom Rom like Pure does eliminates some of the background files that BlinkFeed may rely on.
That would be great thanks nice work.

My 4x2 widgets work so don't know what's up particularly with that. (See picture). The clock widget I will look at tomorrow but my battery is dying tonight. As you can see from the picture. I think it had to do with the ported world clock app. I will dig into it tomorrow along with looking at this with shamu Rom. Went skiing today so sorry of I didn't get much done today. Somewhat of an update tomorrow.

Trying to see on the Generic Lollipop development thread if we can get the HTC widgets working... I can get clock working with optional clock install (file on page 1 of this post) rather than the packaged one in the zip with the launcher. However, there seems to be a disconnect between that apk and the widgets since I keep getting an error when I go to set the city when editing the widget that says "Install HTC Clock App" on the bottom of the screen even though it is installed... there is probably some kind of "helper" app needed that I am missing... I even installed the the HTC location Service and a few other files with no change. I am going to keep trying though. Update tomorrow maybe. :fingers-crossed:

got it working on Pure Shamu newest version.... so I used the newest GAPPS pack and installed the "stock" configuration from a wipe (like how you are suppose to install Pure Shamu) and Blinkfeed, Twitter (well, I have yet to install the app because wifi is unavailable, but it show on the content as well as Facebook). Clock works by not using the one in the ZIP but rather the optional APK. No force closes. I assume that if you do a minimal GAPP install that its missing apps that Blinkfeed needs to work properly. Once I am home tonight, I plan to setup mine on Pure Shamu w/ BlinkFeed Launcher support... just can't right now with wifi I will post an update on the first page as well :good:

Cine Shot (Partial Motion Still Photos) working on LG V30 - APP link & Instructions.
Hey all, been a while since I've had any new discoveries because I have been busy with a move across the country, but I think this one was worth waiting for :good:
This post is a tough one to categorize, as its an "app" and its a "mod" but I also needed to include a little guide to help you all get it working. So I went with the Apps and Mods section, but if an Admin thinks this should go in the Guides section, I am totally cool with that.
Pre Install Notes:
This has been tested on my Rooted & Frankensteined LG V30 ThinQ LS-L998 on Sprint running US99827a software Security Patch Jan 1.19.
I do not know if this will work on non rooted devices simply because I haven't been able to test it on one. I do believe that this will work the same on a non-root V30 but I'll wait for confirmation from one of you... SOOOO if you have a non rooted device and you try this out, please let us know if its working.
Thank Yous:
A big thanks to @trouble. for requesting the G8 stock system apps in the G8 section & thanks to @iknow786 for originally providing the files which I used to make the link to the cineshot app below. If I did not happen across that thread we wouldn't have this new trick, so thank you both. Also a big thanks to all of the awesome folks that have kept the V30 development alive and kicking this long into the devices lifecycle. Very cool to see so many talented people still doing things for this community every single day. I cant begin to list everyone, but if you are active in here, you know who the folks are that have been grinding away at this all this time.
Ok so lets get you CineShooting!
Step 1) Go to the following link...
https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&id=1Pxy8B1k19Q8ALiHc1FeYUHb3c8y4DnJI
Steo 1a) Download, and install the CineShot apk.
(Im hosting this on one of my drives, so if anyone has issues with the download, now or months from now, PM me and I'll fix it. If its a while from now and you just write "dead link" in this thread I prob won't see it, so that's why I am recommending a PM. )
(Since I have not yet figured out how to integrate this new app into our camera app, you will need to launch the CineShot main process using one of the programs I will mention in step 2. I am including some screenshots for those new to this. Hopefully this post will be updated in the future with how to integrate the cineshot capabilities into the regular camera section, but for now this is what we have)
Step 2) Once you have installed the CineShot apk to your device you will need a shortcut maker program to access it.
Personally I am partial to Shortcut Master, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.shortcutmaster.lite&hl=en but other apps like "QuicksShortcutMaker" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sika524.android.quickshortcut&hl=en_US (tested and works) should word as well. So if you don't already have one, download one of those two or your own favorite.
Step 2a) Open your shortcut program and find CineShot by either scrolling to it or searching "Cine" or "CineShot". No matter which program you used you should see at least one option under the CineShot app ending with the words ".MainActivity ". Go ahead and favorite or create shortcut for this process, as you'll want to have a quick way to get back to CineShot mode. Now go ahead and click that option and your device should launch into cineshot mode.
Cine Shot Mode - How-To:
Pretty basic stuff here. Point and shoot at whatever you want (objects should be moving in your frame otherwise your just taking a normal picture). It will record 3 seconds. After it stabilizes your "video" it will then show you options to draw with your finger on the moving parts of the images that you still want to move. Do this, and then save. You now have a cineshot image with partial movement of the image.
That's it. Pretty easy stuff. If you followed the very simple steps you should be able to record using either your front or back camera, and cineshot should be fully working, or at least as fully as it can on our devices. Enjoy.
I don't have any fun stuff nearby to post a good example of a cool Cine Shot Pic, so if you guys and gals take any, please share so people can see what the fuss is about.
And as always, feel free to share the love with a click on that "Thanks" button if this post helped you out
*** Reserved for future post - updates ***
Side Note: From that same cache of G8 apks, I was able to get the My Avatar app partially working using the same steps as above but with that specific APK obviously. Unfortunately, while it will take my picture, it will not spit out an avatar, so some sort of framework or back end stuff is not enabled. Anyone that has access to the newer devices with this, if you can find the additional necessary files, we could prob get this working too.
Anyone interested in checking out the G8 stock apps in the original thread I mentioned above can find that thread here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g8/themes/lg-g8-preinstalled-apps-t3904050
Other apps that I got to install from the g8 are these: Humanavatar (My Avatar) LGContentsettings (Wallpaper and Theme. Not sure what this updates though) and an update to the Tasks app.
Be cautious installing things you don't know anything about. As always, its your phone, so beware, and there are no guarantees yada yada yada.
It doesn't integrate with the camera because only camera apps built for pie onwards have that functionality. Once enabled in camera config files it crashes the camera app immediately.

Any idea why it crashes it? I mean other than it wasnt meant to work. Since the actual mode is functional I wonder if anything is actually missing in the Oreos framework/camera that needs to be there.

I'm glad you commented, as I was going to message you to ask your opinion on the My Avatar creation feature I mentioned after the original post. I can get it to snap a pic of my face, and it recognize I'm a person and takes the pic, but when it goes to process and spit out an Avatar it fails.
Since you're a good bit more advanced than I am, maybe you had an idea about what's keeping it from working.

Installation just finished I will report back what I find and let you know if it's even worth it.
Let us know how it goes...
Had an issue with start up and fingerprint at first, rebooted and was able to get through fingerprint. I go through all the startup steps finally boot and oneplus launcher force closes non stop. Reboot does not fix this issue either, I was lucky to have Nova launcher restored from back up but now navigation gestures do not work. I will try another fresh install and see what happens but so far stay away.
I was able to get through the initial setup but I had to skip network setup because the keyboard wasn't working. The rom seems very buggy.
Things like the QS pulldown animation are very laggy, gestures work but are laggy too and OnePlus launcher can randomly crash when opening app drawer and causes screen to flicker. Location permission seems to freeze the whole app and sometimes the whole phone just goes crazy and the screen flickers and the touchscreen gets unresponsive... and I've only had it installed for like 10 mins. I'd stay away ?

Calls only worked on bluetooth and speaker. (maybe a product of my locked bootloader?) I'm not complaining thought. It's beta software for devs and I understand that.
Why are people downloading this expecting a polished final product? IT'S A DEVELOPER PREVIEW. It's not meant for general users, it's to help developers to prepare their apps before the final version comes out. You're under no obligation to even install it.

Based on the posts above, I don't think anyone, including myself, is expecting a final product. No one appears to be complaining. It's feedback on their experience with the installation and performance of the Beta 2 release. I think we all know it's a work in progress. This is kinda of a heads up for others who may be considering installing it for the purpose of using it (with the occasional hiccup).

Why does every thread has to have some overseer come and tell us what we already know?
First of all everyone here was having a great conversation with good feedback regarding the update. No one said this is for developer's only? OnePlus also mentions "Early Adopters" please don't start with negativity just let the thread be!
On another note thank you guys for installing and reporting back your findings, It helps alot now I don't have to wipe my phone and install Q beta.

Just a heads up, whoever still wants to give it a try do not reboot. After you play with Q for a few and want to go back to Pie. Go and download the downgrade and install. It's a little tricky because with me I lost recovery as well for some odd reason after a reboot.
