Hi!
I packed the Google Pixel bootanimation into a Magisk module so that it can be installed via Magisk (which means without modifying the /system partition so that future system updates still will work).
As the original Pixel bootanimation uses a white background I wanted to change the image files to a black background, but then realized that @PlayerZ_ZawZaw has done this already (see this thread over there: GooglePixel Bootanimation Black&White Edition), so all credits for making the black background version go to him!
I just took the bootanition and packed it into a Magisk module.
It's the same bootanimation as in this video, only with black background instead of white:
Have fun!

No, but it needs the Magisk framework installed (as it's a Magisk module).

Hi there!
Since it is a Magisk Madule, will this work on other devices also? ( Lenovo K4 Note). Thank you.
How do I properly install it? Kinda newbie here.. Using the Magisck if I flash the zip in TWRP it will appears as a Magisck module?
and how do i create and pack another boot animation into magisck? Can you put the step-by-step pleeeeease?

I'm on magisk 15.2 and when I click on plus and then the file it goes inside the zip and shows me the files inside. Is there something I'm missing to actually get it to install?
*update* Did the install via TWRP. Later found I could have clicked on solid explorer then navigated to the file and then it would have done the install in magisk.

Take the zip and replace the one file it "replaces" with the one you want displayed...save under a new name. Done.
Love it That's pretty awesome!

As promised, I will be releasing animations regularly. Here are links to each:

2. Team EOS Silver 3D Text Animation (A <2mb Replacement Quick Render)
3. Team EOS New Logo Design Animation! A first look at our new logo! (Full Animation) [NEW 04/01/12]
Artists! Design your own styled EOS themed animations. We have a skilled community and I'm sure you guys could come up with some great ones! They should be no larger than 12mb (at the most) and be verified working. Post them to this thread and I will add them here. Who knows, yours may end up in a later release!
To replace the stock zip use a market app like BAC orrr:
(this assumes that you are running a rooted aosp-sourced build and understand how to manipulate the filesystem in r/w)
Make backups of your bootanimation.zip file(s):
Check both /data/local and /system/media
1. Rename the downloaded animation file to bootanimation.zip
2. Check /data/local and delete bootanimation.zip if it exists.
3. Enter /system/media, delete bootanimation.zip, and move the new zip into its place.
4. Reboot the system.
If it borks it will either revert back to the shiny android text sequence and boot fine
OR
loop endlessly (could look fine could look crazy distorted, no matter) and still boot fine...with the exception that nothing will work.
If this happens, connect to the adb shell as superuser, list processes, and kill the bootanimation process. Revert your animation, report it to the designer and live happily ever after.

I did the same thing and ran into the same problem. I had to reboot into recovery and restore a previous nandroid. The boot animation looked cool, just not sure what the issue is. I sat there for 5+ minutes looking at "for science!".
to be honest guys there's two things I changed - firstly, we're running our build of ICS. Secondly, I'm using jpegs to reduce size. Nothing else has changed, and to be honest I've had this animation as well as others act unpredictably and work sometimes and loop others after copying over the *exact* same animation. I will do more research also, and any trials and error data would be helpful.
Quick side question: are you guys who are having loops using titanium backup, using the setup initiated google backup/restore, and/or running a security app such as Webroot on your tablets?
Also, are you copying these manually or using an app and to which location?

I'm using root explorer to push the bootanimation.zip to data/local directory... I do have titanium backup, but I only use it for user apps, not system, and I'm not using the google backup service or any kind of security app... Hope you get this working soon, really like this bootanimation. and thanks for taking the time to look into it...
OK everyone, turns out I made a mistake with my finalized formatting that I use. Here is the link to a proper working boot animation with the proper format. I will also update the link in the first post.
I will also render an ICS stock animation in this format and get it out today.

Oh, and for submitted animations, the specifications are:
-PNG or JPG Sequences
-704 x 440 size
-desc.txt should be 1408 880 24
also - the images must all have a border of deadspace static pixels.
You may use the template I posted here

quick noob question
I have recently FLASHED your cyberdine terminator bootanimation (brought me back to my younger years) and it was awsome by the way, thanks for that mate..
My question is, how can i replace a flashed bootanimation with one of your latest awesomenesses..thanks again mate!
All good!!! My question is solved..thanks again for the wicked animations phokus..
Whoops, didn't see parameters.
Hey there! Just began creating some 1+1 bootanimations and so I decided to put the one that I think is the best that I made installation is classic: put the zip in system/media and rename it to "bootanimation.zip" (backup your previous bootanimation), then set the permissions to rw/r/r and reboot! For the flashable zips just flash it in recovery and you're ready to go!
I'll release these in different packs (usually 3-4 bootanimation for every release). If a bootanimation has the "Vx" in the name that means that i'll probably do better versions of it! If you want to use these for something ask me please! Also, if someone is able to compile it in order to use with cm11 theme manager, you're welcome but please send it to me so that i can keep the thread clean :3
Preview pack 1 (Cyanogen Metropolis, Cyanogen Aurora, OnePlus Glow)

Zip: 1, 2, 3

Zip:1, 2, 3
Flashable zips:1, 2, 3
APKs: 1, 2, 3
Mono-Pack 3
Due to some lack of time i'm encountering lately, I only made one bootanimation for this pack: Metro Minimal. Still, i think this is the best BA i've made for now :3
The animation starts from the blue circle, the initial bootlogo isn't included but I could upload it if you want. Let me know

I've found this bug on various roms and various kernel, and was able to solve only by putting Boeffla Kernel (even with underclocking). Still don't know why :/
Apks avaiable!

Maybe is Kernel related? If using Nightlies M8 (I still keep a copy of the build 0813, the logo is rotating perfectly smooth)
The new one, even stock, the default Blue CM rotating arrow also laggy, but other bootanimation don't have such problem...

Once you press and hold the home button for assistant the red and yellow dots are still visible in the home button, but go away once you press the home button again. Looks great so far!
Earlier we got boot animations from pixel 2 devices, but I am here with flashable ones to reduce work on your part.
So just download, and get to flashing!
Instructions-
-TO FLASH PIXEL 2 BOOT ANIMATION-
Just download the appropriate boot animation and flash through any custom recovery. If you dont have one, use apps like flashify to get the job done.
-TO BACKUP YOUR CURRENT BOOT ANIMATION-
Through a root file manager, go to /system/media and change bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip.bak and then flash whichever pixel 2 boot zip you fancy.
-TO RECOVER BACKED UP BOOT ANIMATION-
Again through a root file manager, go to /system/media and delete bootanimation.zip. Now rename bootanimation.zip.bak to bootanimation.zip.

Dark boot animation V3
Nexus 5x
I manually copied into media and rebooted and worked (the name of the zip is bootanimationd.zip so I renamed it without the d ).

Just extract the bootanimation zip of the flashable to /system/media (you need a root explorer to do that). Don't forget to create a backup of the previous bootanimation.
If you're using the dark version, rename the file to bootanimation.zip (without the "d")

That's the procedure to use the bootanimation, but I was asking for the bootlogo (the still image that appears before the bootanimation). Generally, if you unlocked your bootloader, the bootlogo becomes a warning sign, so you can replace it with a custom bootlogo.
Hi there, is there any magisk version to be flashed? Thanks! Great bootanimation.
