For the past 2 days i could not access snapchat and i thought this was due to the root on my phone, that is the least of my problems now... I went online, plugged my phone in and removed my root using KingoRoot. After this, my phone has been stuck on the 'SAMSUNG' logo. I also have to mention that my device is encrypted. I have 100's of pictures and i can't lose any data. There are some important documents, pictures and apps on there.
Help!
Thanks in advance

Okay, I guess I'll have to talk about the pink elephant in the thread... Are you using S6A, is it on Marshmallow and if yes, how did you root it?
As for saving your data, do you keep your encryption key somewhere safe? If you do, you can flash 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Odin, then connect the phone to a PC and run recovery files software. You should be able to save most of them and with the encryption key you'll be able to view or decrypt them.
here is image that show it was rooted 6.0.1 i test in unlock network and repair imei..!

Hi guys, thanks for the forum and i hope to become a part of it. I've been under so much stress since yesterday, my galaxy s3 (on EE in the UK) for the first time decided it's data was corrupted yesterday after my battery died, never done this or anything like it before, and it wouldn't let me access the phone itself unless the data was reset.
I had a lot of very precious pictures in my gallery from the weekend, which unfortunately chose not to backup to google+ for the last few days, even though it always has up until recently. All night/day i've been trying to figure out and get software to recover these photos, which i think is possible as i did it a long time ago on a blackberry, but not android yet. I'm just hoping it can be done so the photos aren't forever lost, the other stuff gone doesn't bother me so much.
The guide i'm following (here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...de-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705) says it needs to be rooted first, and i can't even get past step 1. I've only ever rooted my old galaxy S1 (which worked back then) but i can't seem to get the S3 to do it. And now my phone also believes there's no sim card in and i get no signal now.
this is the guide i followed: http://www.ibtimes.com/how-root-sam...-jelly-bean-official-firmware-tutorial-975812
though i think i need a newer PDA file to flash my i9305 with. I'm on the EE network running 4.3 jelly. It installed Super SU but root checker says it still isn't rooted.
So have i messed this up? And is there any hope for me getting these pictures back?
Thanks in advance for any help, it's much appreciated.
if you are running on 4.3 then you are not following the right guide to root...
use THIS ONE instead... if it fails to root use the workaround part, i used it and worked....used the workaround to install custom recovery and then flashed chainfire zip from his website and updated SU and worked.
are you still able to boot the phone?
Thanks for the response, tried that guide and still getting no signal on my phone (no mobile connection at all, sim card isn't recognised as being there) and i don't think it's rooted right. Still saying SuperSU has stopped working when i try to open it.
I put the Root_SuperSU.1.02-Busybox.1.21.0.zip on the internal SD and tried that too.
Which is the chainfire zip you're talking about, could you possibly link it? I don't really get what you mean by custom recovery, do you mean it's the same as flashing the Busybox thing from recovery mode?
And yeah it still boots up normally...
use that tutorial to install a custom recovery...then install this SuperSU - http://download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip?retrieve_file=1 - flash it in custom recovery....after that update app with playstore and should work.
but i suggest you get it to a specialized shop to get your photos back...
Hi All,
So I've come to these forums a bunch seeing new rooting methods and just generally interested in androids in general but I'm having an issue that I can't seem to find addressed anywhere or at least I'm having no success currently getting this to work. So one of my clients has a verizon moto maxx running 4.4.4 kitkat. He used the phone to take a bunch of photo's and video of a trip he went on and when he was trying to move the data onto his computer he accidentally deleted it. Now the phone is a corporate phone, given to him by our company, so rooting isn't really an option and even if it was his bootloader isn't unlocked so I'd have to unlock it which would reformat the phone anyway. So I was wondering if anyone here has any suggestions on how I could recover his data which is very important to him without rooting and\or a root work around that I can do without unlocking the bootloader.
Thanks all you're my best hope,
Ber

Technically, the only the international versions of this device are called the "Moto Maxx", the Verizon versions are called the "Droid Turbo". There are no root or bootloader unlock methods available for the Turbo.
He might be able to recover the data, depending on how he deleted it and what's he done since deleting it. If he hit a delete all button or something, then he might be good. That only really deletes the "hooks" to that data and makes the storage space the data exists on available to write on, because that's a lot faster than actually deleting all of the data. The only way the data really gets deleted is once that storage space is overwritten with new data.
There's no way of knowing if the data is still there to be recovered, and you need to use 3rd party software to do so. My friend has used this service before with success: http://www.wondershare.net/ad/dr-fo...geK_vorCLp-HKwHo11cOy-LBrNS29vKP50aAoOg8P8HAQ
I've never personally used it, nor do I know if it costs anything. It doesn't appear to, but I haven't installed it.
Try using Puran File Recovery. I've used it in the past when i've accidently deleted a file off my phone. I believe it's free to use.
@joshm.1219
I used Dr. Fone and it said the phone was not a serviceable model. It still said it could recover the data but required the phone to be rooted since it wasn't a normal model for it. Thanks for the suggestion though.
How do I use Puran File Recover on my phone?

Hi there, I am a huge noob (as in I just started trying to retrieve my sms messages today) and am hoping Puran can help me... After trying to root my phone for a long time I found out that Android Maxx 4.4.4 can't be. So now I'm looking at recovery options that don't require the phone to be rooted. I downloaded Puran to my computer, but can't figure out how to run it on my phone. So I also tried to download it on my phone, but the file won't open.... How have you run it on your phone in the past? I am beyond desperate to recover these texts and any help you can provide will be HUGELY appreciated.
I mistakenly did a factory reset and I need to recover files. My device is not rooted and cannot be rooted (G925VVRU2OAF1), and the recovery tools I've come across while searching the forums require root to work fully. This also renders DiskDigger and Undelete useless to me. Is there ANY WAY possible for me to recover my files? Or I'm done for without root?

and answer is given below
Many reasons may cause the data loss, such as, mistakenly tapping the “Delete” button when you are exploring the new features of S6.Thats why you should avoid the deleted button. The available backups is far enough to avoid data loss. To get back you can follow this link and i hope you will get your answer(http://www.jihosoft.com/android-recovery/galaxy-s6-data-recovery.html )
I feel like im in the twilight zone and there's all these body snatchers trying to make me pay 50 dollars to recover a ten minute video.
I'm in the same boat as OP. Was in Maintenance Mode and forgot that menu is select and not power. Also on OF1.
I've tried more things than I can count. My solutions thus far has been to just wait until somebody discovers a root method. Preferably something to bypass the locked bootloader altogether but...meh.
In the meantime, my S6 gathers dust as I don't want to chance overwriting anything.
Try some recovery professional app.
My wife's phone is in the similar boat.
Word from the wise- 1) turn OFF the "factory reset after 15 failed screen unlock attempts" security feature, or 2) NEVER let a young relative handle your phone when it's been locked.
My wife had already maxed out her backup storage, so there's a couple months worth of pics that are in danger of being forever lost if she dares use the memory.
And it's been updated to 6.0.1, so root options seem to be nil at this time. So frustrating.
I have an AT&T Samsung S6 phone. When it was doing an OTA update it ended up locking up and then it blanked itself and reset to factory defaults. The problem is it blanked all of my pictures. I know I should have had it backed up etc... but I didn't. My question is this, is there a way to undelete the files from the phone after blanking it. I have powered down the phone and bought a different temporary phone so that it doesn't over write any more of the files. The only undelete programs I have found require root access. So does anybody know if I can root the phone so I can undelete files? Or is there a way to undelete without root? I don't care about tripping KNOX or anything I would like to just get my photos back. It would be nice to use again but I don't care about NFC payments or anything KNOX would affect. If I have to sacrifice the phone to get pictures off then so be it. It is now running 5.1.1.
The only program I know of is on the computer for sd cards. Not sure if it would work with a phone tho. And I can't remember the name either. Google file recovery programs. I used one for my corrupted sd and it did a great job recovering. Problem is like you said is being written over if you power up the phone. Try googling "data recovery from ota deleted phone"? Good luck.
So I've got a bit of a problem. I think it's a quite unique one, tried searching for it, but no results.
First of all, a little backstory. My USB-cable port broke. I usually clean it with a toothpick or so, just to get dust out of it. I've done this with my older phones as well, but never had any casualties. Maybe this was my first misstep, but I have to say that the port was never really perfect since day 1.
Anyway, my USB-port broke a few days ago, which means no charging. Before I ran out of battery life, I really didn't know what to do, because since I rooted it, it has no warranty. So at 3% of battery life, I got desperate, freaked out and wasn't thinking straight and deleted SuperSU from my phone through the app, hoping that if it needed to be fixed by a "professional", I could just send it back. Smart eh?
I ordered a wireless Qi charger to charge my phone and it was delivered today. Works fine, my phone turned on again, but without SuperSU installed. So I went to chainfire's website and downloaded the SuperSU zip from there and flashed it. Bootloop. I did some googling and read that I need the unofficial updated version, since I've got a 6.0.1 ROM. I totally forgot about that, because it has been a while since I flashed the 6.0.1 ROM.
So I've got this problem: I need to get the new version of the SuperSU zip on my phone, but I can't connect to my PC using a USB cable and I can't download it directly on my phone because of the bootloop. And the Nexus 6 doesn't have a SD card slot, of course. Could there be some other way to delete SuperSU, or very maybe to transfer files wirelessly through TWRP?
I already factory resetted it, with no results. Help? Please?
How about you restore a backup.... You have one on the phone right???
You can also navigate twrp via the provided file manager.
Do you have a ROM zip left on the phone? If so wipe and flash it to start fresh.
Wireless adb push?

Wireless adb doesn't work in recovery.
Ah hmmm... Then it needs to be physically repaired. Can't think of any other way

Really no other way than repairing it physically? I've heard that can be quite expensive and I'm getting a new phone in a month or two, so I don't really want to spend a lot of money on a phone which I'm not going to use afterwards anyway.
I tried removing SuperSU manually following the steps on this website, but instead of using ES file explorer, I mounted system and used the file explorer in TWRP. But that didn't work either.
If there isn't any other way, could formatting data help to at least stop the bootloop from happening? I wouldn't really mind doing so, because all of my pictures are saved on google photos and I got a TitaniumBackup of all my userapps from a few weeks back on Google Drive.

as noted above, you can just do a clean flash of any rom zip you have in your phone. After you boot up, there are a ton of apps in the Store that would let you send files wirelessly. Solid Explorer for example as you can set your phone as an FTP server.

Exactly what I was going to say, just use a file manager to transfer over the zip (I use x-plore file manager by lonely cat games, which supports FTP/SFTP/SMB and also will start a local webserver to you can use the for manager from your PC.
