I am trying to unlock and Debra do

I am trying to unlock and rebrand my P9 plus vie-l09. The problem is that every time I am going into fastboot mode I am getting a waiting for device response and I can't communicate with my phone. I've done this before with HTC and other phones many time on the same computer. I checked with different USB ports, different computer, always same result. Any ideas ?

Root and Unlock Help

I have read the numerous tutorials on unlocking and root my mi5 with no luck. I am using windows 10, which seems to cause some problems. I have tried to locate the Kedacom Driver to no avail. My computer does recognize the device and even makes the recognition sound when I put it in fastboot mode. I did apply and was granted the unlocking rights by Xiaomi, but when I use the unlock tool it always fails to work. The loading screen goes to 50% then I hear the device disconnect and it cannot finish the process. Any help would be appreciated.

First check if you have a supported version of MIUI on the phone.
A lot of the shops send the Mi5 with a (sort of) custom rom installed and then you cannot unlock it.
So check if you have Global or Chinese rom (or developer versions).
If so, make a note of the error you get and do a search in XDA forum or MIUI.com forum.
If that does not show up anything, come back here and tell what the error was.
Or start here with the error first

(HTC DESIRE 500 HTC__M27) What if you can not enable USB Debugging at all?

Okay,
I have just created this account to ask this even though being aware that the phone is outdated. What is the solution for a phone which can be reached (connected) via USB without a problem, variables can be read and apply fastboot commands.
After reading countless topics, trying many softwares, trying many different original RUUs (HTC__M27 region especially considered) (since android is not booting, impossible to enable usb debugging and of course not possible to try custom roms etc. At this point s-off is not possible either) watching many many videos and such i started to think the only solution to revive this phone might be nothing but replacing the mainboard on it.
I remove the battery for sometime and when i try to switch it on normally, it vibrates 7 times (very common problem for most cases) and stuck with HTC logo forever.
If i apply the volume down, power up combo, phone can enter into Hboot, Bootloader, Fastboot, Recovery, Simlock, Barcode, Factory Reset options. When i try Recovery, Factory Reset nothing happens always stuck on HTC logo forever.
Even with the original ROM for my region which is Turkey HTC__M27 i get Error 131 Customer ID error.
I want to ask the community is there any solution for this kind of a situation?
Please kindly inform if you have time.
Thanks.
Answer to my own problem.
Simply phone is dead because 99% the emmc is either damaged or needs to be reprogrammed.
If your phone is S-ON and you are trying to S-OFF it and if your phone is unable to boot into android os you can not s-off it. All S-OFF methods needs "USB debugging function enabled". Since no os to reach and modify settings, you can consider your phone is a dead one and not going to rise at all.

I need help to unlock bootloader

Hello everyone,
I've decided to unlock my device to flash vanilla android but I couldn't unlock it. I've tried almost everything but even the latest MiUnlock doesn't recognize my device on fastboot, the PC itself recognizes it before and after getting into fastboot, I hear usb device connected sound and can see the phone under Windows devices.
Adb devices command works if the phone is switched on, my dev settings are ok, oem unlocking and adding account under dev settings are ok, I've tried it with disabled windows signature enforcement too but nothing happened. MiUnlock simply doesn't want to see the device on fastboot.
Can anybody help me, please?

The issue that you are experiencing is strictly with your PC.
You need to ensure that you are using an account that has admin privileges, and be sure that you antivirus is not neutering your usb drivers and Miflash program.
Next, if you are using a newer computer with usb 3 ports, you will need to use a USB hub ( USB 2 is your best option.) , then the phone will be seen in fastboot. As long as you have setup developer options, and your MiCloud account is setup.
Finally, it will take 2 weeks to unlock the bootloader , after your first request. Some people who had been syncing the phone to MiCloud for some time before attempting were able to immediately unlock. Personally we have 3 Mi8's in our house and I had to wait 2 weeks on each one.
To reiterate, your main issue is probably the usb ports, and your antivirus the the 2nd most likely culprit. Worst case use another computer. The process is much easier on older PC's.
you can use the the All in one tool to double check that your drivers, adb , and system wide privileges are up to date and setup correctly. https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/tool-tool-one-driversunlocktwrpfactory-t3358711
Instructions are available on that thread.
Thanks for your help, I've already tried almost everything you've said up there and even gave a try on virtualbox Windows 7 with USB 2.0 setup.
I remember I've unlocked my friend's device last year on an only USB 2.0 computer, my laptop has unfortunately only two 3.0s and one USB-C. The phone can be seen under fastboot devices command if MiUnlock is not running, if I click on that cr*p program my device either falls from fastboot devices list or says press any key to shutdown.
The main problem is the ports and that damned program itself, how come it lockdowns the connection and after that pc couldn't even show my phone in devices list but can be seen in device manager. I'm literally shocked by the cheapness of this very software.

Again the issue is with windows, I have personally dealt with the exact same issue. That is why I recommended using an older computer that has not been recently updated.
But you are absolutely right, Xiaomi has not made any development improvements with their desktop applications in over a year and that is ridiculous.
I would suggest using alternate versions of the software : I just did a google search and on this link people were saying just one week ago that this linked software worked for them, note its a video, the software link is in the description : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_PEAJ-n2_c
Finally, I am personally using this version of Mi Flash : https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410932744536991669 on a brand new intel PC.
and the last time that I unlocked a xiaomi phone I used unlocker software from here ( Note the multiple versions at bottom of page)
https://mi-globe.com/download-xiaomi-mi-unlock-tool-all-versions/
If one doesn't work try another. just be sure that you have developer options setup correctly and that you are signed in a syncing with mi-cloud. You will get it unlocked eventually. I can assure you that it was a Pain in the A*$ for me too!
Thanks man, these are the exactly same links I’ve found and checked out while trying to connect my phone but I just gave up after three days of struggling and pressing volume+power buttons and ordered a USB 2.0 hub online. Unfortunately there are no older computers around me or anyone I can ask for because of you know, the quarantine. I’m actually using cloud actively, so I should better be prepared for an immediate unlocking, and backup my data beforehand as usual.
Just wanted to write about the news, I've backed up my data and connected my device to MiUnlock on USB 2.0 Hub and ta-da it's immediately unlocked without any waiting time. That was a smooth process, I'm shocked but happy.

Nice, so my original suggestion about using 2.0 usb was correct. I am glad that you have the issue sorted. I am also surprised about you being able to avoid the wait time. That is a nice break. Enjoy your phone.
PS: Be sure to make a full TWRP backup and save it to your desktop. That backup will save you if you ever experience a bad issue.

Thanks man, and yes that was all about fastboot which is written to be used with older usb versions. After plugging in the hub, it’s connected directly in just milliseconds. I am surprised that I’ve really skipped the waiting for two weeks or maybe more and yeah it makes me happy.
I made a full data backup before unlocking and then all the dangerous partitions including modem, efs and bluetooth in TWRP to avoid any irreversible loss. I never skip my recovery backups since 2010 and my first Android smartphone which was an HTC Desire A8181, I learned it in a hard way to never skip them, if you do, you either lose your data or your mobile device identification. :victory:
A question from a Xiaomi-newbie; If I run clean all and lock command on MiFlash, should I wait for an unknown time to unlock the device again? Or does Xiaomi let users to lock/unlock their devices anytime without waiting if you’ve unlocked your bootloader once before?

I have only unlocked my device once. But I wouldn't think there would be an issue to unlock a second time. In fact, I have read about some people needing to wait 72 hours to unlock it again after relocking. if using Mi-Flash just try to be sure uncheck that lock bootloader box, that is unless you want it locked.
One last thing, if you ever decide to restore the phone using the flashall.bat method, the bootloader stays unlocked.

Redmagic 3S Device Corrupt, debugging mode is not activated Help

Hello everyone, first of all thanks for your advice,
I have a Global RM3S, I updated to the Chinese version with android 11 with the debugging options activated and of course the active oem unlocking,
but I had errors in some applications for changing from global to Chinese so I did a factory reset and it worked excellent,
but for my work I needed a special application and with the Chinese version it didn't work, so I had to go back to the global version,
but when doing it from the recovery it gave me the error "DEVICE CORRUPT "I read in another thread that I had to unlock the OEM
before loading the rom in order to unlock the bootloader and thus repair my computer, I don't have much experience in this matter so I don't understand what to do, can you help me?
T_T my phone has been like this for two weeks and the local technicians say they can't repair it, I wanted to buy another logic card but I can't find anything,
I urgently need to repair my phone because I don't have another, and I need it to dial from my entry, sales, exits, etc. , from my work, greetings to all.
I tell you, I have the drivers well installed on my pc, fastboot detects my device without problem, also when trying the steps to copy the files from the Chinese or global rom, it does not give any error but it always returns to "DEVICE CORRUPT"
if I try to unlock via FASTBOOT with
fastboot oem nubia_unlock NUBIA_NX629J
no problem but with
fastboot flashing unlock
tell me error

Can you provide screenshot from drivers?
is it detected by adb driver or not?
sometimes what i am doin on windows is reinstalling adb driver (uninstall and reinstall)
if you cannot do anything, do fastboot and try brick tools that provide in forum to restore anything to global rom, and reflash again on CN ROM
أنا Unlock bootloader but my devices is corrput

Can not read from port COM Mi Flash

I think I finally destroyed my cell phone. I tried to install the Chinese version firmware on my Mi 9T Pro Global and it's on a Hard Brick: It doesn't turn on fastboot or recovery. Opening the phone, I managed to connect to EDL to try to recover by Mi Flash and only the error "Can not read from port com" appears and I've tried everything! I tried several different ROMS, changed the Firehose file that prevents unauthorized accounts by MI Auth, changed Mi Flash versions, installed all necessary drivers several times, changed the USB port to 2.0 and 3.0 and nothing happened. I also tried alternative programs like Qualcomm's QPST/QFIL, and also a Virtual Box. I just found a thread that taught a method where I would have to pay 15 dollars to recover the phone, but what if I hard brick it again , I'll always have to pay 15 dollars to retrieve the cell phone, and I can't do that, not to mention that I don't even know if this method would work. Holy s*** I don't think I've ever been so desperate hahahaha has anyone retrieved any Mi 9T Pro through EDL, or at least knows how to solve this port COM problem?

Paying someone is the only way to make EDL work these days.
Also ensure your cable works. My port didn't seem to work with any Xiaomi cables for data, however it fortunately worked with a magnetic end charging cable as my port is presumably a tad damaged.
You will get your money back with the guy I did it with if it doesn't work.
So touching those pins are the only way you can get any sort of output to the screen?
[Edit]
The price of a new motherboard is really expensive. I'd probably rule that out.
Also if you can get to download mode in any way, I'd use Linux. I've not managered to get ADB working on Windows this year. However Linux has been fine. EDL flashing worked in Windows for me.

My cable seems to be working as it charges my mom's cell phone, and the PC also recognizes the EDL, though I haven't tried using other cables.
Yes, Test Point is the only answer the phone gives me that it's still alive, as the PC recognizes the EDL, even though the phone doesn't turn on the screen (it doesn't even vibrate when I hold the power button or try to turn it on on the fastboot/recovery)
If it's a motherboard problem, I'll follow your advice and buy another cell phone, it wouldn't be worth it to just send it for assistance and pay a fortune
Finally, I don't have access to any linux unfortunately, but I was also having problems with ADB, and that's exactly why I accidentally installed Chinese Firmware lol
Mine got all the way up to the flashing point and it failed until I changed cable. Just because it charges, doesn't mean it'll work for data.
And you've tried vol up + hold power? And try detach the battery so it's definitely off of EDL.
I mean a motherboard will fix it, but that's just to replace your emmc memory. But you're better off trying the EDL pay service regardless.
What do you mean you don't have access to Linux? It's free and one doesn't need to install it to boot into it.
After you recover to an ancient Chinese rom through EDL, one still needs to unlock the bootloader to go back to something better like Miui.eu.

About the cable I didn't know it could be detected by the pc and at the same time not being able to transfer data, thanks! I will try to change the cable in the next attempts
Yes, I tried to hold the volume and power, but nothing happened. I also tried it with the battery ribbon cable plugged in and unplugged, but both didn't work either.
I don't know anything about PC OS hahaha mb, for me installing linux in my pc, would be like installing IOS on a Samsung. So I think I have access to Linux
About the bootloader I don't think I'll have any problems, I've already unlocked the phone, rooted it and changed the ROM to an AOSP-based one
Oh, and forgot to say: a friend also hard bricked his Mi 8 Lite and retrieved it via EDL. He said that the problem I'm having, he was also, and he only managed to solve it after downloading the rom and files of a guy here in Brazil, but unfortunately on the site he didn't have the Mi 9T Pro files He said he changed firehose, persist, patch0 and rawprogram0 (all files present in the images folder of ROM) and it worked! Mi Auth was bypassed and the system came out of the brick.
