Try factory reset and clear cache - dalvik (I've read that some had it fixed by clearing cache and dalvik twice) . From what I can tell, many of these phones had hardware problems from the beginning. I had mine over the service center for 1 month and they changed my motherboard.
This was happening to me until I went **** it and got it repaired, they had to change my motherboard too.
Yes, have much read about that and I'm afraid about that could happen to my P8 Lite, too. What's the reason for this? Just lotto, or can we see, if we are risk at this problem?

If the problem persists, head over to the service center. They could tell you that your guarantee is void (if rooted). You must leave it there and tell them to inform you, just for the cost of repairing it. Most likely Huawei is providing motherboard replacement....
That's why I don't have open the bootloader or rooted. I will not lost my guarantee. What cost the motherboard if dead?

I guess. I believe that it's Huawei's orders to replace any hardware related problem if it's manufacturers fault, even the phone is rooted.

You might be right. WiFi problem is very common. Maybe they replace the motherboard with no extra charge even if the guarantee is void.

If you can enable it but the available WiFi list is blank use this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dev2solution.wificonnect
If you can't even enable it then it's a hardware problem
Can we say which phone serie could get this issue anytime? My phone is produced in 02/2016 and wifi works without problems. Can it die in the next few month? Should be time, if it is normal
Is there any statement from huawei to this problem? They should know about this crap wifi problem and the risk to get it anytime, right? So we can't completly count on our phone. That's crap.
Huawei know for this problem with wi-fi, and You may take phone to authorized service, and they`ll fix it for free.
Everybody get this problem anytime?

hi all , i bricked my w8 and i send it to service the other day ...my phone got hardbricked and i cant find a solution ..so i asked my dad to send to to a repairman, at 1st the man said its a simple problem and can be fix in a day or two , so 2 days has passed and i asked my dad is my w8 fixed? my dad said the foreman has overlook and the problem is more severe ...so i got a little scare and i heard of this method called JTAG ..and i am just wondering does all repairman knows JTAG? i saw a vid and it looks dam hard. ..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujH_IpsskLg
so heres the details
model:w8
reason for brick:unlocking bootloader
phone age : 3weeks
As you can see in the video you linked in your post, or in the link I posted in the "bootloader unlock warning" thread, it requires ...
a) ... specialized hardware (RIFF Box + JTAG Interface or Qualcomm Resurrection Cable)
b) ... a solid knowledge about getting the hardware and related software to good use
In theory any trained service monkey should be able to do the trick, given the repair shop has the hardware to accomplish the job. A authorized SE service center has the required hardware, and trained technicians, for sure.
Anyhow ... to point the finger at the "unlock warning" thread ... now, once you get your phone back READ THE MANUFACTURING CODE of your phone CLOSELY and do NOT attempt to unlock the bootloader again if the phone is within the critical range.
oh..so most repairman knows how to repair a bricked phone yes ? =) ..but still if i am right it will not be covered by my warranty? and how much will it cost?

Why would you trick the repair man since it will not reduce the cost (i think)

Hello. Sorry for my english.
I've been living on the edge, like many of us LOL, and i finally got hard bricked. No battery charge, logo, download mode. Nothing. Just a black screen.
I was using ICS stunner 1.4.26 and decided to flash Catastrophic Meltdown 9 (CM9 for friends). The problems was that my battery died when it was installing the kernel, or the boot, i dont know.
So, i have been reading a lot those days but nothing seems to work. I have ordered a Jig but i think is not going to work. Yesterday i used windows, and something was detected when i plugged in the usb, but Odin not.Today it does not work, and windows doesnt play any sound. Any idea? A Jag?
I should say this is the best mobile phone i have ever touched. I would be eternal grateful with all of you if we could fix this mess. I was aware that there were risks. Im aware now maybe i cant fixit and im not gonna blame anyone because it was my responsability, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Same thing happened to me, nothing worked (tried the JIG). I had to send it in for repair, but they didn't see that it was my fault (still had warranty).

From my experience the only way u can get ur phone back in service is go to ssc and make some reasonable reason why ur phone is dead, so u can still claim for warranty and I am sure they will replace ur engine/mobo like my friends did a month ago.

It has nothing to do with your battery dying and everything with trying to flash CM9 directly from super-dangerous LP5 or LP6 leak ICS kernel.
No jig or JTag will revive your phone now.
However, if your Note refuses to go into download or recovery mode, you are in luck - if you have a warranty, that is. Just take your phone to the service center and tell them that it died when updating via Kies. There is no way for them to tell what had really happened and they will have to replace your motherboard free of charge.
Sadly, jig didnt solve the problem. Battery isnt hot when plugged in, is my motherboard fried by flashing the note?
Could a jtag solve the problem?
Try to take it back in for warranty before attempting a JTAG and voiding the warranty (that they can tell)

Yeah, that's a classic superbrick, need replacement mobo. Sorry dude. As mentioned just say you were updating ics ota or through kies.

I got the same problem few days back..I went to service center and said that i got an ota update and after downloading had completed,it started rebooting and there i got some errors and finally my phone is dead
They were unable to find the exact reason why it got bricked as it was unable to enter download or recovery mode
So they replaced the motherboard under warrenty
Better this it once
All the best :good:

It looks like my phone is dead. I had it checked on repair store and they tried to reprogram and sort of downgrade the OS but unfortunately they weren't able to. Same thing happened. The second repair store said that the back panel has to be opened to check the internal of the phone but I didn't agree to do that.
I'm still trying to charge it today when I got home but still the same no LED light while charging. This is very frustrating as I spent a lot money to have this phone and didn't last for 2 months. Very disappointed. I will never, ever buy from an OL shop again. The warranty is void when I upgraded the OS as per the retailer so no replacement happened. Now I don't have enough money to buy a new one. Have to save up again and will take a couple of months to buy one.
Disappointment.

My mistake is I bought mine from an OL shop here in the Philippines, not from a Sony or Xperia store. I still love Sony, I still want a Z1 but to be honest right now I'm not that 100% sure if I'm gonna buy another one. Though there's no other option out there for me outside Sony aside from Apple (I guess).

Looks like your boot partition has been wiped. That's where kernel is stored. Without kernel, your device won't boot, neither recognize any plugged in cable (USB to computer either Charger).
They're two ways to solve this.
Claim your warranty to change your motherboard.
Find someone who know to revive dead Xperia Z1.
Hope this help.
good luck bro

That is not true. Without a kernel you should still be able to boot into fastboot mode (bootloader) or into flashmode and be able to reflash your device.

JTAG the phone should work but it requires a pro and since it's a new phone I highly doubt that there's any one out there who can do that you might have to wait also you will lose warranty permanently since it requires them opening your phone and soldering. Or send to Sony and pay whatever price they ask for to get it fixed.

Man than I am sorry fot that, but in your case I would probably send it back to Sony repair center for a warranty repair. I don´t know how it is in your country but I think in every normal country is the manufacturer responsible for the warranty and not the seller, so you even don´t need to contact the company from where you bought your phone, just send it back to the nearest sony repair center and they will repair your device. And if its needed, then don´t say that the phone died after update, just say them that the phone died by itself from nothing...

Yeah man, that's what I will actually today. I'll go to the nearest Sony Service Centre and have it check. Yep I'd say that I haven't upgraded it yet to 4.3. Service fee would be fine since it's not from a Sony store. As long as it will be revived it's fine with me. That is actually my last hope.
Don't blame Sony for that.
First off all - Mercedes sometimes have faulty cars, of course Sony has too but blame whole system for that won't get you nowhere.
If you had flashed custom kernels or ROMs this things could happen...
For all others - if you aren't sure what are you doing don't try to unlock bootloader or root your device...
Wait for a few weeks/months and we'll have better solution...
All devs here warned you - 4.3 on Z1 is new and every ROM and kernel or root method is in test phase...
It's ridiculous to blame Sony for flashing custom stuff and brake you device...
If you haven't then there's no reason not to use your waranty rights...
No matter where did you bought your device you have to have waranty!

As per the man I talked to when I went into the store the warranty is voided when I updated my OS to 4.3. I can only use the service warranty if I don't do ANY modification of OS or whatever on the phone even if it's from PCC or SUS. Stupid policy.

For what its worth - I had converted from (Canadian) L09 to L29 to AL00 using HWOTA, then installed the Oreo firmware from FF.
NOT WORTH IT.
Changes partition names, TWRP doesn't work properly and going back to stock EMUI 5 1/Nougat is almost impossible. Hard-Bricked a phone trying (boot loop, no fastboot/recovery access), not sure what happened but thankfully Huawei was understanding and replaced it under warranty. Don't think it was a rookie mistake as I've been flashing and modding since the Desire Z days...
I would HIGHLY advise waiting for official Oreo and a TWRP that's compatible.

Sorry for the late response, but if I recall correctly - I think I lied. Pretty sure I told them something like "I was using the phone, it got a bit hot then crashed. When I tried to turn it back on it was stuck in this weird bootloop." Since it wouldn't boot, they couldn't check for unlocked bootloader or anything else. I don't remember if I had it swapped at the carrier store or sent it to Huawei... If it's outside the stores warranty, just be careful with your answers. Playing naive to a degree is usually the best if you to get good service.
Once upon a time, I had a 6P legitimately die from bad hardware and had to really fight Huawei to get a replacement. Mind you, I didn't have the original receipt that time so YMMV. Get a service ticket opened, act like it died for no reason and see what happens. They'll probably toss it in a pile and send a new one or just do a mainboard swap instead of pissing around with diagnosing and swapping individual surface mount components.
Hi,
A week ago I was using my < 4 months old Zenfone 8 while traveling in Germany, and at 19% battery the screen turned black. I went back home, tried charging it for as long as possible, it was staying cold and never showed any sign of life.
So I opened a RMA on Asus Belgium website (as I am from Belgium), and shipped the phone to their repair center.
Today, I got an email from them, saying that the warranty wasn't covering the damage, and that I had to pay 500,28€ for a replacement of the motherboard.
When going into their OOW website, I saw this table :
Warranty start:2021-05-16Warranty end:2023-05-15Issue date:2021-09-13Receive date:2021-09-15Charge reason:OOWCustomer agree to quotation:Charge reason:OOW - Out of warranty ASUS Product Unlock Flag-oow scratched
It seems to me that the "unlock flag" is their bootloader unlock tool, that I had indeed used to root the phone before, and wanted to try a few custom ROM - which I actually never did since there were none at the time. Of course, this is completely unrelated to the issue, as it is not even rooted anymore and I basically did nothing with it.
As I am from the EU, I saw that there are laws that protect consumers from these types of abusive behaviors from companies, as explained here https://piana.eu/root/
I am therefore
1) looking for people who had this problem with their Zenfone 8 (what is it actually? never seen a brand new phone die like this)
2) looking for people who had their warranty denied for an unlocked bootloader in the EU, and what is possible to do
Thank you very much for your attention and for your help
There loads of people that has the same bricked state:

As requested by the mod - opening new discussion for the issue. The Flashing Full Ramdump happened to me too - the phone was being charged over the night and the error was waiting when I woke up. I hope that at least your service will fix it quickly.

I had it on my 1st ZF8, complety dead. Sent it for repair but ASUS refunded it.
2nd one seems resistent to this bug, rooted, flashed all kinds of roms etc, ended in ramdump state but can always boot to fastboot.

You can also check state when you plug it to computer, even with dark screen.

So update: After a bit of back and forth emailing, I finally got an answer: « Im really sorry but our answer will not change. By using the unlock tool you have agreed that the warranty will be dropped, no matter what problem you are experiencing and regardless of how the problem arose. »
So basically they openly agree that they are scamming me of 500€ after selling me a faulty device, but thanks to an abusive clause, they think they can do it.
Great customer service, always a pleasure to give business to such a great company as Asus… I’ll get my lawyer involved now, anyone who has advices on the legal process in the EU is very welcome.
Seem to be some hardware fault with the 1st batch. Really bad customer response from asus, loads of reports of dying zf8's now

What type of zenfone did you have?
I am wondering whether only 256GB phones have this issue

I really hope my small 128 GB phone won't have this issue. I really like this phone...
There are reports on Zentalk forums of both 128 and 256 models dying
We are basically all held in suspense wondering if our phones will die or not. Personally, I have a second phone (Xperia z5 premium) that is fully set up and I can easily switch in case of problems, but it is still not a nice feeling
Possible battery failure. Inspect.
I dont think its battery fail, seems more likely that storage or RAM gets corrupt, the 1st state is
"waiting for flashing full ramdump". I have this state on my 2nd zf8 but can always reboot to fastboot. That was not the case on the first unit

I haven't found the cause. My phone is working normally.
However people on Zentalk forums which have sent their phones for repair have reported that the service report has information that motherboard was replaced. I can't confirm or deny this

Was the 128GB model for me, we still don’t know what the issue is.
If I can’t get the phone fixed the legal way I think I’ll pay the 60€ to get it back unrepaired (because yes, I have to pay for that) and open it myself to try and find the issue. Maybe I’ll be more competent than their lame service at identifying the issue

Oh man I feel sorry for you. In Germany, they'd have to prove it was not their fault in the first 6 month after buying

I know, it’s the exact same law here in Belgium but they don’t care…
22 dead zf8 so far in the asus forum thread. #asusZF8DeadGate
