Hello All,
I have a bricked or possibly semi bricked kindle. I recently used the supertool to root the device. After using the super I tested out the novalauncher, I didn't like it so I went back to the stock launcher. When I went back to the stock launcher the screen would flash on and off not allowing me to anything. Needless to say I have to back to the nova launcher. I was able to install flashfire and I tried installing cyanogenmod. I think cyanogenmod did not finish installing flashfire just cutoff in the middle. I'm stuck in the boot animation and I waited a whole day to see if it was just optimizing apps. Things I've done so far wipe cache>factory reset, recovery via the supertool, restore via KFFirstAide but it cant pickup my kindle. I can boot into fastboot manually. I dont have TWRP recovery because it never seemed to flash.

Hi
I have had Slim ICS 4.2 working ok for a month or so. Yesterday it suddenly started to give FC to all apps, so I rebooted it. The only thing that changed was that, when trying to update the Adaway lists, it gave me an error and could not do it. From that moment, it was stuck in the Slim logo for three reboots. After that, it started a reboot loop, showing the semaphore logo and rebooting back again. I have managed to enter Recovery by connecting it to a USB cable, after some reboots it gets into it. Three button combo was working for Download Mode but not for Recovery.
Can I simply reflash Slim ICS, without doing a wipe? I donĀ“t want to lose my apps, at least not before backing the data conveniently. It would suffice to be able to boot and do a Titanium Backup, then move on to Slimbean or something. I still have the original zips I used to install it.
Thanks!
So i'm very new to root and i'm kicking myself for doing what I did and i'm really hoping someone can help me out. So long story short in titanium backup I turned all my launchers even the default one into user applications, and now its stuck in an endless boot. And please be noob friendly as possible I almost know nothing about android and barley successfully rooted in the first place. Thanks

Did you install twrp or cwm yet? (Recovery) if not you will probably need a fast boot cable and then reinstall the ROM. Very different routes.

Boot Loop
Hello...Just rooted my KF HD and am now stuck in a boot loop. I was able to obtain root and boot into recovery. I was taking a back up before installing a Jelly Bean ROM. When I tried to take the back up, said there was not enough memory, so I did a backup without data. I did a full wipe, cache and davlik cache and when I tried to install the ROM zip file, got a message it could not open the zip. So, I restored from my back up and now all I get is the regular Kindle FIre logo over and over. I tried to connect via adb, but it does not stay on long enough for me to send any commands, my PC does not recognize it. Any help or suggestions? Just wanted to put a good stable ROM on it so the kids can have sometime more reliable than what Amazon provided. Any help is appreciated.
BTW...if I remember correctly, my serial number started with D025. Thanks.
Hi guys, need a bit of help if possible, my 5th Gen fire, which I had rooted, side loaded play store, removed adverts and removed amazon launcher and replaced with 3rd party launcher so it was like a rooted vanilla android tablet...
Now here comes the issue, since yesterday the tablet has been not been able to connect to the wifi as it's stating that the parental controls had kicked in and wouldn't allow me to authenticate no matter what details I entered, so after reading a couple of articles on Google apparently the only way round it was to factory reset it, which I did, unfortunately this now means that the tablet is booting up into a factory reset version of the fire without a launcher installed! Obviously iv now lost my play store etc so cant get to any app to get on the Internet or anything!? Any ideas at all?
Can you get into the stock recovery? or into the fastboot screen?
If you can get into the stock recovery, you should be able to flash the stock image through adb. http://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/general/unbrick-amazon-fire-7in-2015-5th-gen-t3285294
Else if you can get into the fastboot mode, you could try to install nova launcher again.
just verify the version you have before attempting any recovery. You cannot install 5.0.1 if you already have 5.1.1.

I can get to the recovery screen (power tablet up with Vol down button) menu can't get it to boot to the OS now as it's talking about doing a system /software ota update and doesn't actually do anything. Not sure how I'd get the launcher installed via fast boot tbh
Did you read and follow the link provided on post #2?
thanks guys, managed to flash it back to stock via recovery, drivers were being a bit of a pain, got it working in the end, then decided to update it to CM 12.1 with Gapps, seems to be working a treat now!
So i wanted to install CyanogenMod on my kindle fire 2, because the os amazon provides is horrible. Before i could install any roms, i had to root and install a custom recovery. I found a one-click way to do it here, and it must have failed, but the device was still on, so i manually restarted it. When it booted up, it briefly showed the kindle bootlogo, then switched to a solid red/orange full screen. I would really like help fixing this. Please help. (BTW, i do have root access.)

the TweezerMod forum says that it's only useful for the older bootloader. Go ahead and download and flash the bootloader file from Hash's thread here as directed. You really should get a factory cable if you don't already have one, as you'll need one to get into fastboot to flash the bootloader. After this, reboot and try to get into TWRP. If it works, TweezerMod mostly worked. If not, you'll need to do the entire flashing process manually.

I have had my Droid turbo since launch and as such followed the path the getting root on it for some time. I used Mofo to get root back on android 4.4.4, used it again to upgrade to 5.1 while keeping root, used sunshine to unlock the bootloader when that came out, and finally installed TWRP recovery on it. I had not done much to it since, but had Intended to install cyanogenmod for a while.
Well I thought I would finally get to it this weekend. I made a nandroid back-up with TWRP, copied it to my computer, backed up some files I didn't want to lose, and went ahead and installed the latest version of cyanogenmod 13 for quark (Moto MAXX and Droid Turbo) and the necessary gapps. It all went very well. I booted into cyanogenmod just fine, and signed in to google.
I was in the process of setting things up, like preferences/wallpapers/wigets etc, while google downloaded my apps. Not long after I started doing this, nova launcher would repeatedly crash, as well as cyanogenmod's built in launcher. I got fed up with it and rebooted. But the phone shut down and started acting odd. It would show what looked like the bootloader, but the open android guy was not there, and I had no options at the top. Sometimes it would just say AP Fastboot Flash Mode (Secure) with no other text.
I got it to go to the bootloader after holding down the power and volume down button, and got it to boot to TWRP. But TWRP said there is no OS installed, and it refused to install anything, wipe anything, and TWRP itself crashed after a bit when I left it there to try and use ADB to push my nandroid back up to it.
Now TWRP will not load from the bootloader, and I cannot flash anything. I wanted to just re-flash the stock firmware. So I downloaded fresh copies of it from the root thread here on XDA, but no matter what, i get the error "(bootloader) Failed to erase partition" It does this for anything. I tried flashing TWRP and the fresh system image. I tried following the steps on the root thread that flash things that you need to prepare the phone for the system image, but all attempts to flash fail with the same message.
I also tried using mofo to flash a clean system image. But it just stops and quits at 7%. I have had this problem before, and got around it by using mofo 0.0.2. But I no longer have that version.
I am at a loss here. I need my phone back ASAP. Any help would be much appreciated.
Have you tried doing everything from Terminal on your computer instead? That's what saved my butt once when I was in a similar situation.
