IMEI SV is the Software Version of the IMEI-related code in your phone. It's always "22" on the P9.
At least on my phone, the IMEI is shown directly on the "About phone" page in the settings, while the IMEI SV ("22" here, as well) is shown on the "Status" subpage (which shows signal strength and MAC addresses and so on).
Another way to display the IMEI, which is mandated by the GSM standards body, is by entering *#06# in the dialler. Does it show anything there?

Vodafone had to issue me with a new number. With the old number the Status page correctly displayed my telephone number. Now it just says "Unknown". All Vodafone did was change my number, they did not issue a new sim card. Is there a way of resolving this ?

Yes.
You need a phone capable of setting the number on the SIM (usually termed 'My Number' or 'Own Number' in the menus). I used my girlfriend's iPhone 3GS (we're both on O2) to set the number on my SIM as the same thing was bugging me.
After I flashed hello bean I got th message about my imei, and when I checked it wasn't right, but I I can still make calls and my phone functions normally. I was just wondering why it is important to restore it and if you can point me to a thread that explains how to do it. (I have backups)
Thanks

IMEI is your phone DNA. It's what makes it unique to another cellphone. This is the number that is assigned in your provider account. If you lose or get your phone stolen they block this IMEI so people can't use the phone anymore since its tagged. If you modify your IMEI and your provider sees the change they can believe your phone was stolen/tempered OR you could get a IMEI marked as stolen and your provider will cut you off. The IMEI is also used for tracking in emergency situation. If they look for 3514856147 and your phone report a IMEI like 998775258 there won't be a match. The E911 can locate you via your GPS location as its sent on every call but your provider won't be able to triangulate your location to report it to the authorities with the incorrect IMEI.
This is why you need to return with your real IMEI both for your safety and keep your phone working.
Hello friends! I've gotten this s4 Active from a relative. Phone worked well with him. When I got the phone, I inserted my SIM Card, it kept saying "Emergency calls only" My card works with other devices, my old phone as well. I can't connect to the network
Hello. Can you ask your relative if it was locked to carrier? If not, then you need to unlock it using a code. And, can you lookfor an IMEI or a baseband version in the settings?
What is being locked to carrier? How can I learn if it is? All I know is he formatted the phone and sent it to me. Also my IMEI and Baseband is not empty
Here in the Philippines, people would choose among the networks of SUN, SMART and Globe. If I have a postpaid plan under e.g SUN, then the given phone would be 'network locked' under it, then the only time that it would be 'unlocked' is if I have exceeded their lock-in period which is usually 24 or 30 months. In the case that the person would like to insert a SIM Card from Globe then they need a code to unlock. Does your phone ask for a network lock code or something? Could you post a pic?
I can't take a pic. Well, phone says emergency calls only, but I have "SIM Menu" in my menu. And when I try to call, it says "Not connected to a network"

*#06# will display IMEI
Valid numbers start with 35*******
Lost/defect start with 0409*****
If IMEI is lost there is a high possibility that /efs partition has been formatted.
A bit sloppy cleaning IMHO thinking of relatives formatting going to deep [emoji17]
A flash of Samsung complete stock firmware + factory reset may restore IMEI.
If factory reset is not your piece of cake a flash of correct version modem.bin +non-hlos.bin might be enough.
Do spend valuable time and read/learn how to flash in General section.
My IMEI starts with 35****
Any idea?
Hello, i'm in trouble with an S5 g900a. The typical "phone not allowed mm#6" appeared one day, after almost 1 year I'd purchased it. By the way, i bought it unlocked, in a store located in Paraguay.
I've read many posts about this message that appeared, i went to my service provider (Claro Argentina) to ask for imei blacklisted, but they said it is clean. But there is something more i've found now, the imei that appears when i dial *#06# (this is the one my provider checked) is the same that is written by the label of the box, BUT... when i try to see my phone's imei through different software such as SamMobile app or EFS Professional with Qualcomm NV Tools, the imei informed is a different one (that belongs to a g900f model) and, what is more, this imei results to be blacklisted since the same day my phone became out of service.
- Why is my phone giving this 2 different imeis?
- How can i recover the original one?
Hope you can understant my English and give me any help or information on how to solve this.
Thanks in advance,
Maxi.

well you shouldn't have flashed anything on it. If it was working you should have just used it. Most probably the phone your using is from an other country and single sim. Go to download mode and check the model number, it will be something along the lines of N960N/F/F-DS and then in setting about phone see if the two model numbers match.
I hope you had made a backup. If not go back to the seller and ask him to redo the software of your phone. Or you can struggle for your self on the internet and find someone who can help you (it will be straight up hell).
And if you want anything relevant to your problem the only place I know where this problem was fix is: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...us-ng-help-t4073865/post83258373#post83258373
If it had TWRP on it then it was not new but a used phone that possibly was faulty .Return to seller .
