New here, rooted, switched from stock to CM. I just wanted to try out AOSP to see which one I like more. Is it just flashfire the AOSP ROM?

Yup. Just add a wipe action (system/dalvik/cache; data optional) *before* the flash action.
Does anyone know if the AOSP will work on 5.3.1.? Up above it says it is only for 5.0.1.

At present all custom ROMs for this device are compatible with all versions of FireOS v5 (specifically stock bootloader/kernel) released to date (5.0.0-5.3.2).
Some versions of FireOS are not currently rootable hence the rollback/upgrade dance. But that has nothing to do with ROM compatibility.
Great. One more question, is there a way to make a system backup? I don't have any files on it but reinstalling apps took a while..

Existing apps/data will remain if you do not wipe user/data partition. Really only need to wipe system and dalvik partitions when switching between custom ROMs leveraging the same base level of Android.. all ROMs for this device.
And me being the idiot I am, I forgot my pattern. Unless I guess it, I'll have to factory reset and root it again...

Hello
Please tell me which (CM12 vs AOSP) one is best for you.
Thank you

I am using the latest official ROM, but want a faster version. Can anyone reccomend a custom ROM that is mostly based on the official only stripped out and sped up? I dont want to go too custom. Make sense?
Hmmm, you don't seem that new so i'm surprised you asked this :S. There are different ROMs and you should try them ALL out (yes, i said all) to see which one best fits your needs. You have no idea how tedious and stressful (at times) cooking a ROM could be so it's only fair you go try them all out and decide for yourself
I asked only because there seem to be SO many, and I really just want a simple paired down plain-old stock rom. Nothing fancy, just a few "speed her up" tweaks built in. I wasnt about to ask in the ROM thread, thats suicide.. I thought here would be ok.
I have posted some here and lurked for a while now, but only flashed like twice. 1 custom then the 6.1 official. I am not a big flash junkie, only a speed freak.

I you want stock go with "Imnotatreofan" ROM - Stock At&T 6.1 ROM with no bloatware - I have run it and it is very good.
If you want F-A-S-T - the try the "NoThrills" ROM - I am currently running this one and love it. Sorry I don't have links, I just saw your post and thought I would reply.
Useless Thread. Best is Subjective. Try them all. They are like Pokemon, Must Collect them all!

I found out today by flashing an accurate battery mod for the Desire HD that it works on the Thunderbolt also. You must be deodexed to use this and I have only personally tested it on Adryns debloat ROM. Credit to bgill55 for his services.jar and Krzysiec for his framework as all I did was throw them in one zip for convenience.

You must be deodexed, which stock isn't. At least have to flash the debloat rom as that will deodex you.

yes it protects avast from being wiped with a factory reset by making it a system app, but a simple /system wipe from custom recovery, flashing a new rom or flash a ruu will remove it.
its useful if the person that find/steal your phone is not an experienced user but it can be erased easily by everyone here on xda.
however im using it myself, its a nice app, used it maybe 1 or 2 time to find that I left my phone at my job.
yeah...most users just knows about "factory reset" and thats it...
oh yeah..thanks for the tip !

CleanROM is a stock-based, rooted rom. Also not all the ROMs in that dev thread are CM based.

Is there a disadvantage from 5.0.1 to 5.0.2?
add supersu to your stock rom(unlock bootloader and flash a recovery) and youll have a stock rooted rom. btw, the far majority of roms here on not based on cm, but based on aosp.
OK.is the nexus 6 not officially on 5.0.2?just wondering because clean ROM is still on 5.0.1

Why not just flash root then clean out all the stuff you don't want? That's what I did . Just flashed a new kernel last night and at this point am pretty happy. 5.1 should be dropping soon and then after some soak test (read let the brave and bold and try it out for a few weeks) I will probably drop in Chroma.

Hello everyone. I'm looking for to download b615 I've found some ota zip but need a full rom. Any one knows where to get one? I preffer from Mega, but other sources fine too.
Also which Emui 3.0 Rom is the best choice to be installed in UK or Europe (P7-L10)? Thanks
Hope you managed. I found B609 to be the most stable.

Hello. I'm new with the p7, got it since a week ago, but experienced about emui. Im running B616, rooted and cleaned from system apps. Some people told me it's the best so far and I can't complain. I haven't tried others yet.
I'm gonna get up to date on this forum and see how can we get the most advantages from our p7.
Peace

Definitely man. It seems to be working even better than b133. I removed most huawei apps, google apps (then reinstalled some of them as user apps) also removed all the animated wallpapers. Antutu gave a great score. But you know, the will of improving the system is always there.
I'm now reading about kernels and stuff. Still got the stock recovery. I couldn't find a philz touch recovery though.
