News and weather app not detecting correct country

i've just flash cm6 nightly build, it seems like my news and weather app is unable to detect the country which i'm in.
i live in Singapore, previously in cm5.0.8, it was able to detect my location for weather and localised news. now, it says "Sorry, weather currently unavailable" and the news are U.S. based.
i have set the My Location to use wireless networks and Locale to English (United States).
also, is it possible to select the time zone in cm6 nightly build to GMT+08:00 Singapore Time?

[Q] How localization works?

Hi, I'm currently making an app. I'm in Europe, the app will be in english. I'd like to know how Google Play deals with this, I want it to appear worldwide. What do I have to do for this? I'm afraid that Google will make my app appear for my country only.
You can choose which country you want the app to appear and you can also use a translator if you want to translate the app to different languages.

Thanks for the info
If you do not provide a language for a country, the default version of your app description will be used. You can set the default language to whichever language you want, but english is of course the most common choice.
Google Play will however auto translate your app description to other languages, but that usually goes really badly. So, I'd consider making localised app descriptions for the "big" languages at least. So you don't have to trust Googles auto translate, because I don't think you can turn it off... unless I am mistaken? I sure haven't found a way to.

How do I load Google and their Apps on my Xioami Mix in Perth Australia?

How do I load Google and their Apps on my Xioami Mix in Perth Australia
I recently bought a Xiaomi Mix (Black ceramic/Gold edition) on a trip to China, I ordered and received it from the official Mi website to the private address in China where I was staying.
Thus I guess it is a China ROM version.
It already has the latest MIUI 9 upgrade on it
I live in Perth Australia and my phone provider is Vodafone.
2G band- 900Mhz
3G band - 900MHz (B8)
4G/LTE bands - 2100Mhz (B1), 1800Mhz (B3), 850Mhz (B5)
From what I have been told is that the above will work on the Mix.
My problem is that I have not been able to successfully load Google etc on the phone from a source other than the Baidu App.
Then once that was done Google Apps would not work or start in most cases.
I have all my contacts, docs and photos etc synchronised to my Google account for ease when I travel.
Does anyone have a solution for loading Google and making the phone work?
Thanks

Perhaps you should install the global version. Yet, you can try this google installer apk inside the zip which supposed to be installing google framework and apps automatically(I was using it on another Chinese device). Here is the link to download: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=961840155545586390
And how to:

Sent from my lithium using XDA Labs

You did give all the permissions for the Google apps?
Thanks! How do I load Google and their Apps on my Xioami Mix in Perth Australia?
Hey guys, Thanks for your help.
I think is was the permissions, I hadn't given 1 or 2 that made a difference.
My only problem now is that the Google Contacts is showing 2 accounts and I only have 1 account.
The worst part is the one that the empty one opens by default, and I have to switch every time.
In the worst case scenario I could live with it.
One says "All Contacts" with 1192 contacts in it.
The other says just "Contacts" with 0 contacts in it.
Is there a way to delete the second empty account?
I can't seem to find a solution on Google anywhere.

Think if you press the 3dots at top when in the 1 you want to remove it says remove this account.

I tried that, there are no "3 Dots" only 3 bars in top left corner and there is no delete option.
I can't find a way to delete it.

this should work fine.
I think its better to unlock your bootloader and then flash lock global rom using fastboot method

"Okay Google" - US English not a supported language?

I'm feeling really stupid tonight. I am trying to set up "Okay Google" to trigger Assistant and in Google settings, I'm told that I cannot setup it up as the current language isn't supported. Since I've selected US English I find that hard to understand. Am I missing something really simple? Thanks.
I also had this problem, UK as the primary language, but region was set to Romania. As soon as i set my region to UK, assistant started working.

Need help on changing store region

I just got a galaxy watch 3 while it was on sale two days ago. But because I live in China when I try to download apps there's only the chinese store which has very limited amout of app and I can't even download Spotify and Facer. I thought changing the region by flashing will do the trick but after I changed region to US it still shows me the chinese galaxy store. I used to own a wear os watch and the only thing I have to do is to choose any region other than China and it shows me the proper store with all of the apps but it doesn't seems like to be Samsung's case, any idea how to change the store region?
