FIX FOR HTC ONE M8S data problems*!!!
I noticed that there is much confusion about the difference between m8s (m8ql_ul) and m8 (m8ql i think, not sure). so hereby the way i fixed my problems with not working internet connection. (wifi worked fine)
IF you experience problems with data usage and dont want to go back to stock for your original baseband version or to turn s-off DO THIS!
For everyone that couldnt solve the issue, im currently in HTC One m8s, CM12.1: ( https://ruu.lalleman.net/HTC_M8S(QL_UL)/)*,*TWRP recovery ( http://src.voidzero.net/CM-12.1/htc_m8qlul/unofficial/ ) with a baseband version for USA, while im in europe... soo, my data connection didnt work n i couldnt find the right carrier.*
The reason for this all is that the cm12,1 version is for american carriers or something
What I did what fixed it:
- First, i set up right APN for my*carrier (make shure you do this for yours)
- Put the network operators option on automatic
- Download:*http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...dio-updated-modem-radio-files-oxygen-t3072516*(make sure you download whole firmware as .zip)
- Put the zip on your phones main SD, so we're the rom is written on.
- Then go into twrp recovery mode and go to mount and CHECK system
- Then go to instal and instal the zip file, (DONT check zip file signature verification)
- After do dalvik n cache wipe
- Then reboot
it'll probably has to instal gapps first or something but that will happen automaticaly while booting

Im having problems with my Nexus
1. phone randomly reboots especially when using camera or with charger plugged in
2. when it reboots it stays on the x sreen
i rooted the phone and put the desire rom on there but the problem has got worse.
Is there a RUU file for the nexus?
How can i get it to work - please reply in simple mode and with links instructions
its originally on vodafone uk but imm sure it wasnt branded or sim locked.
There are no RUUs. It's Nexus.
Wipe data, cache and Dalvik-cache on your phone (it erases ALL the data) through recovery, and test it again. If it still fails with no apps installed - you have a hardware problem, send it for replacement. If not - put on it a custom ROM of your choice, wipe everything, and enjoy.
All the relevant guides are in Nexus One Wiki.
Hi guys,
I have just flashed MIUI and my god it looks good
I do have a few problems, I can not pick up any networks (I'm on vodafone uk). When I try to find Network Settings I get: "Call Settings Error Network or Sim card Error."
I hope it is an easy fix I have tried leaving the phone for a few minuets which hasn't helped and I have tried rebooting the phone. When I reboot the phone it goes back I think factory settings as it asks for my Google account information plus Date format.
I used the following guide to install MIUI:
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/galaxy-s-miui-rom
If you think I have a better chance to get this solved on another thread / forum section let me know and I will re-post it
Thanks.
well ideally this thread would be better off under the 'MIUI general, or the MIUI development' but considering you already posted dont worry
anyway it sounds like your IMEI is corrupted, have you checked this by dialing *#06# ??
if its all 0's or a complete different IMEI to is was before hand, just apply the efs backup you should of made before starting the flash.
Well my IMEI is fine, well it gives me a number which I think is correct But I didn't apply a efs back up not sure what that is.
If I want to reinstall MIUI would I need to flash back to 2.2 then flash to MIUI since they keep saying you need to be on 2.2 before you begin the flash.
I was on Darky's 2.2 before I flashed just fancied the change
no, you are on MIUI now right ? so just reflash the ROM again, and make sure you are on the latest kernel too.
if that dont work, try formatting cache / data / datadata / system / dalvik cache, then again, reflash the ROM
Yes I am currently on MIUI.
I used the following:
speedmod-kernel-k13c-500hz.tar
cm7-galaxys-initial-kernel.tar
galaxys-efsbackup.zip
MIUI-RC7-1.4.29.zip
Maybe some of these files conflict with the newer version of MIUI?
they shouldnt conflict.
did you try the steps in my last post ? if so how are things now ?
Cheers for your help. I flashed it back to 2.2 stock then went to MIUI seems to be working now, strange but I am happy
I installed miui 202100 2.3.7 rom on my ropoted moto droid , now I lost all data download, upload, all browser both wifi and 3g,I also lost the ability to boot into recovery, bootloader, rom manager ( pretty much everything rom manager ), I cannot flash another rom or restore any previous nandroid backup. I have full reception on wifi, yet always " no connection. I have no idea what to do. also, there are chinese or some asian language characters all over the place. I am really frustrated with this lost data capability, I have to access my email very frequently for work when I am on the go. anyone, please help me!
If you plug your SD card in to a computer are the files for Open Recovery still there and did you take a backup before you started the upgrade?
Also sounds like you picked some asian version of MIUI which is most likely not compatible with the US Droid's hardware.
Go get a version from www.miui.us
I flashed back to stock rom using rsd and now all is good except data functionality.
I am still unable to get any data functionality. I have data included with my plan, and no connectivity between 3g/2g or even wifi. I keep getting the no connection dialog
Maybe you have to reenter the APN data.
If you have no network connection at all then maybe you have to switch the baseband to a correct one - but I have no experience with this.
Hello everyone,
As the title says I have a problem on my S3 (i9305).
First of all I want to know that it has been dropped or anything,
I put the official version 4.1.2 (the DBT for Germany was the latest then) instead of 4.0.4, rooted + busybox + modem network Vodafone Romania (XXBLL5) and it worked just fine until yesterday.
I arrived at work I checked my mail via wifi network, I disconnected I put on charger and after an hour I removed to make some mail and then give it to initialize wifi stupor show he wants to start and stop and did not want in any way to start a (looks like starts and stops).
Good now seeing that I got it and I somewhat empirically and did the following things:
-clear cache, wipe Dalvik, reset permisions - still did not work
-restore the Nandroid for wifi - did not work
I managed to got mad and threw factory reset - still not working height
-continuing with nervousness I flashed phone about 4 times with different versions 4.1.2 and version 4.3 but bootloader of 4.1.2-
Normally he did not want none and some gave the "camera failed" error.
All versions have been flashed after wipe cache, dalvik and factory reset so I say something to remain excluded from one another.
Now I'm on a Vodafone version 4.1.2 on sammobile after I haunted a bit on the internet I saw that its more people with this problem and someone had an alternative after you rename the file "wpa_suplicant.conf" in root / data / misc / wifi.
I did this and go but it is something temporary peak for once stop or restart your wifi is not working and another thing
mobile internet does not work without you come in APN and reset its there.
Sorry I did read both but I do not understand the phenomenon and to solve it because there can not be a hardware problem but rather a problem or write permission on the root folder.
And now comes the question: is there a solution to my problem or a way to see if some parts are protected to rewrite or corrupt?
Sorry for my english i use google translate.
Hy, please i need someone to share his wifi root folder structure, screenshot and even better files/folders from
"/etc/wifi",
"/data/misc/wifi",
"/system/bin/wpa_suplicant",
"/data/.cid.info",
"/system/etc/wifi",
"lib/modules/dhd.ko",
"system/lib/modules/dhd.ko"
with root explorer or any kind explorer that show permisions&owner rights.
I need this information because i have trouble with wifi not turning on just trying to turn on(gray icon) and immediatly turn off.
I tried everything , let me share what i did:
-turn off and on the phone
-remove battery for 1 minute
-clear cache, dalvik cache
-factory reset from CWM
-factory reset from phone
-nandroid restore
-flash again 4.1.2 for 4-5 times (different stock roms with different kernels)
-flash custom rom ( different kernels)
-restore again data from nandroid
I managed to work wifi at one moment but at first restart i loosed wifi, so after i read a lot of forums, tricks i de
decied to flash again 4.1.2 ( bad move from me) and let KIES update my phone to 4.3. ( i read this thing on one forum and that guys said managed to work his wifi) but nothing happened.
Then i do the same thing like before on 4.1.2 : power off , clear cache, factory reset, flash again, etc.........
At one moment the wifi managed to work but for 5-10 minutes after that nothing.
Im very sure is not a hardware problem, more software problem kernel + modem or anything else.
Phone is GT-I9305/ TGP ver 18.10/ Agni pure stock 3.8
So please, please someone help me with that info.
I added and Logcat from Catlog just with wifi,
is the wifi module dead or have bad driver?

Hi. I have the same problem.
Did you solve it anyhow?
Unfortunately I could not solve the problem alone and I resolved to a service center where we changed the wifi chip because it was broken.

Do you still need it then?
Now i don't need files anymore, aparently was not a software problem was a hardware problem.
