Make sure you have both GearManager 1.4 installed and the stub. Apk (check this forum for the stub app). After you've tried once, check /sdcard/gear/ for any .apks and install them. When you try to pair, if you don't see a prompt on your device, hit home and check notifications for a pairing prompt then if you have to approve that way, go right back to Gear Manager using task switcher (don't launch from main shortcut).
I'm available tomorrow during the day to assist via TeamViewer if you'd like. I'm almost done with my tutorial that should work with any device running >4.2 and working BT4.0. It will include files too. Just trying to get weather working first.

I'm in the US and flashed the UK version for myself. What do you need to know? Grab the FW you need from the FW thread and then follow the instructions to flash in the "rooting" thread (follow the steps to unroot/recover).
Hi,
I got my Galaxy Gear. I have a Galaxy Nexus, but I found I cannot pair it with the gear. So the gear has never been paired with a phone.
Can I put a new ROM on it? Will it ask for pairing again after I put a new ROM on?
Or do I need to find someone to at least remove the annoying pairing request?
Best
Tom
Have you tried manually syncing it by going to the phone's bluetooth setting and syncing it there instead of using the Gear cradle against the back of the phone?
Ian B
I wonder if manually install the Gear manager on your phone if that will give you the functions. It should connect to Bluetooth fine.
That did not work. I installed apk from gear manager one by one (except the ones that didn't install), started gear manager and tried to pair manually. Galaxy Nexus indicated a paired gear device, but syncing did not work. So it was back to start..

Sorry, I did not understand.
How does writing the NFC tag help?
Also, I tried to flash the new MK7 rom with odin but after I brought the watch into download mode and started odin, selected firmware and clicked start, odin quickly returns and reports "succeed 0/ failed 0".

After a lot of trying, I finally managed to install the NULL_13 rom on the gear.
The last step of flashing the rom in recovery mode was especially difficult, since windows suddenly did
not recognize the watch like before, but only a Samung Android device and the driver did not work.
I had to switch to MacOS to use "adb push ..". That worked.
Thanks for all the hints.
Hello Guys!
I have Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7272. A few months back, I installed GEAR Manager via apk and connected samsung gear 1 to it and it connected successfully and gear was working with my device. Today, I again installed gear manager via APK but it said my device doesn't support gear. It cant connect to Samsung Gear. But it was working before. I tried installing old versions of gear but still fail.
Any help would be appreciated.
Are u using original rom instead custom rom in your phone.. ?
If u using original rom u must reset back your phone using factory reset..
but if u using custom rom .. there is no way how to fix that ..
Hope this will help u.. peace
Good night,
I purchased a Samsung Gear Live but I can't connect to my phone.
The gear screen only shows "Install Android Wear on your phone" and no displays the model name with the four-digit pin to pair.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks in advance for your support.
Greetings.
There is nothing to be fixed.
First install from google play app called Android Wear.
Then pair your phone and watch via bluetooth.
That should do it for starters.

Hi bro,
I have installed the Android Wear app on my smartphone, but don't recognize the smartwatch.
That is my problem.
Ok. I misunderstood you.
I've been there while trying custom rom.
I figured out that this is BT issue and tried to fix it with pkgs from other rom but eventually failed.
Reinstall stock rom KMV78Y. Oops... I can't place direct link because of newbie status.
Follow thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-live/development/rom-octamodwear-stock-root-busybox-t2834620
but do not install octamod. use link presented in downloads in that post.
then update system twice with ota and you should be up to date
Help please!!!
I have been trying this for a few days , I thought I actually got somewhere till my cmd can't open the boot .Img and system.Img and now my watch is unable to connect to my phone and is unlocked I can't even relock it not sure why
Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help point out what I'm doing wrong. I apologize if this is addressed in another thread, but I've read through all I can find with no luck.
Here's my setup....OnePlus One running CM12s (not rooted) and an original Galaxy Gear 1 w/Tizen.
No matter what APK's I install, I cannot get it to work. Either Gear Manager just crashes, Host Manager crashes, or if nothing crashes the Gear just spins on the connection screen.
Is there something with my setup that isn't allowing this to work? Is lollipop the issue? Does the phone need to be rooted? Is the GearManagerStub.apk the problem since I can't copy it into the system/app folder w/out root?
Any help is appreciated. I've spent hours trying to get this to work.
Thank you!!
Hale to sammy ROM to connect without problem. On sgs 3 i ve never to make it.
Same problem here, but I managed to install the latest Gear Manager and connect with Gear 1. OnePlus One running CM12S, non-rooted.
