use like root explorer and back out all the way to root folder where all is it should be there. the folder at the top of folder tree all are alphabatized so should be near the top.
just so u know it is a folder but technicly on g4 it is its own small partition. of like 30 or 34 mb

Thanks for your help. (folder was not there). fyi I dont even actually have a G4 was just asking around trying to find where this carrier folder is, was hoping to find it on this Boost (Sprint?) LG Stylo 2 to be able to unlock carrier like how you can do on a bunch of different LG phones locked to sprint....any other ideas perhaps?

I have the nck codes and all that, but no method to input them as it seems boost/sprint disable the 2945#*xxx# method to get to an unlock menu.
concerning that 2945 method, does that come back after loading a custom rom when you wipe out the sprint rom?

Have u tried inserting a gsm sim and see if it asks for unlock code. Also i used to use one of the idoneapps gt 3.1.5. Which is no longer freely distributed. But u can find it online some where i believe if u click on uicc unlock it tame h tl the menu u need to enter code. Or at least on some samsungs and lgs not all. U do need root for this app. Also look up galaxy tools. I cant verify it brings u to said menu. As mine already unlocked and thats all it says.

This is the easiest way

New sets don't have folder in system they made partition of carrier instead of folder, check cat partition or ls platform by-name you will see carrier partitions there..

How do I obtain root for Android Wear?

I know about unlocking the bootloader by ADB, but how do I actually root my watch so I can install TWRP and eventually custom ROMs?

I am currently not rooted but I have Twrp installed and bootloader unlocked!
If being rooted is a big thing for you now (there really is no need to be just yet), When I had my G Watch, there was a toolkit over there that did all 3 things for you. The dev claims its for G Watch only, but a reply was posted that someone had success on the Live as well, which I dont see why that would be an issue considering its the same OS on both..
If you want to be the test person...feel free !!

There is no such reply that says it is working for the Live.... in fact the Dev specifically quoted someone that asked if it'd work for the Live and he said no.. don't know where you read that

You are right..It was a different thread and he was referring to his app working..not the toolkit...I misread that .
Regardless...as I posted on my reply...unlock your bootloader...reboot the watch and let it set up etc...After a few min, flash the TWRP file in ADB...reboot into TWRP,,,then reboot the watch...
Those are the steps I did and I have TWRP installed...but no root access yet :|

I am not either haha. But same here, hopefully Sammy will soon come out with a stock image that we can Odin!
I wouldnt put to much faith in Sammy anymore. I used to have the S4 on Verizon and that sucker was locked down pretty tight, and I think the S5 is also..seems to be their way of doing things lately

How did you?
Sent from a Galaxy 5 light years away
it was alittle confusing (well the twrp terminal part) but these are the steps he gave me:
Install TWRP, use that to root your device. Then remove the /System/app/Superuser.apk.
Boot into TWRP
Mount the system
Use the TWRP terminal emulator
rm /system/app/SuperSU.apk
I went into TWRP, mounted the system, and went to reboot the watch, at which point it said that I was not rooted and asked me to install Superuser...I clicked yes, then rebooted and let it settle
Went back to TWRP, made sure system was still mounted, and used the built in file manager (I really had no idea how to use the TWRP terminal since there was no way to input the rm command on the watch itself) to manually remove the Superuser.apk.

[Q] Stuck in boot screen, even after wiping data and cache

hi, im using 4.4.4, my device is unlocked and rooted.
i was trying to enable the advanced options in Camera+ as mentioned here in the forum, changed the line on build.prop, rebooted the device, and it got stuck at the "bootloader unlocked" screen, not passing that anymore.
so, i got in to recovery > and wiped data and cache. the device rebooted itself and now is stuck again in "bootloader unlocked" screen.
now if i press power button to turn off it gives "2 vibrations", like its doing something (but is in this screen for past 5 minutes)
any help apreciated.
You need to reflash a firmware.. I would flash back to stock firmware and then go from there.

noopz. i just got the phone a few days ago, didn't even finish to install my apps
thanks for your help, appreciated
You could always mount the system partition with twrp and edit the build.prop to put it back to its original state. It is also possible you need to fix the permissions on the build.prop file.

i will look into twrp as i'm not familiar with it. i also thought about the file permissions may be the problem cause i did not edit the file, i modified on the PC and replaced the file on phone. maybe this was the cause? cause i installed a lot of apps and Xposed stuff before that reset, so im not sure if exactly that was the problem. but as i didn't know how to edit the permissions on the file with the phone in that situation, i didn't even consider possible to fix it.
but i flashed with the same ROM and the phone is now fully working (at least this i could do miself )
thanks dobbs3x and Steve-x for the help! :good::good:

SM T567V

Has anyone done any work on the Verizon S2 4g lte model? I've had mine about 3 weeks and am enjoying it, but the lack of root is really frustrating.
Hi all. Just hoping that some one out there may have missed my note. I am eager to root my Verizon Tab S2 (SM-T567). I've tried Towel root and King root and a few other, and had no luck. have anoyobne done any development work on the exploits to root this device? I am presuming that the 700 and 800 series would not do good things to my particular tab. Is that correct?

1924-7 Metro E5 Plus lost imei and baseband

Ive been pulling my hair out trying to restore my IMEI for the past 2 days. I have the stock 8.0 firmware downloaded and can flash the phone back to stock no problem but no matter what I install, stock or custom rom, my imei is gone.
I believe the problem started when I was rooting the phone and followed a guide saying to use the e5 james twrp to boot to twrp and make a backup, which I have in my google drive. I got magisk installed etc and ended up wiping the phone, not realizing the encryption wouldn't allow me to get my files back. If I do anything other than a clean install it fails to decrypt and I have to restart into TWRP.
I don't have the original box and can't find the guys info that sold me the phone so I don't have the original imei handy.
Anyone have any thoughts or success getting their imei repaired?

Well I'm not sure how to proceed from there. If you do have a backup try to see about extracting it and seeing if it includes the persist folder. If not you may have to look around on what to do next.
The Moto G5s Plus I had the issue on shipped with Nougat and I flashed pixel experience rom and havoc OS for a while before flashing stock to sell it. When I did that I had lost my imei and had to hunt around until I found that thread I linked and followed it to fix the issue. Your issue may or may not be fixable the same way.
I have a twrp backup I believe is it but when restored it boot loops or says decrypt unsuccessful
i found the baseband bin file for tmobile, sprint, metropcs, boost for moto e5 plus

If I figure anything out ill be sure to keep you posted. If you could do the same, Id appreciate it greatly.

Patch DLL to be compatible with LGUP (US Unlocked Model)

Attached is a copy of the LGUP_common.dll extracted from the US Unlocked LG V40 model. I was wondering if anybody had knowledge on patching it so it would work with LGUP. Currently when it is used, LGUP runs into DLL for V405QA11b is not installed properly. Please, install a DLL package(*.msi). for the model. I just want to run a fresh restore on my device. The DLL version should read 1,0,38,3 as it does in LG Flash Tool.
If someone manages to patch the dll or modify it that it does work this might open up the possibility or closer to the possibility of rooting as well

No this is a separate issue. LGUP simply does not work with the V40 DLL from what I have tested. Even the V30, all LGUP needed was the LGUPc.dll file extracted from the kdz renamed to LGUP_common.dll and placed in the model/common folder of LGUP for it to work, however for some reason with the V40 it seems to not be the case. It should be some HEX editing to the DLL (I would try to look into it and do it myself if I weren't so busy), to make it compatible with LGUP. Rooting is an entirely different matter. The US unlocked V40, at least has the ability to boot into fastboot, which leaves the possibility of LG opening the ability to unlock the bootloader. Once that is done, then all we need is a TWRP build, which honestly is the least of our problems. As for the other variants, it really depends on a vunerability being found that can be used. Currently I am downloading the other two firmwares that were posted, seeing if their DLL's have anything that may solve this, but the download speeds for those two KDZ's are painfully slow, and I don't think I will be able to do anything with them up to at least this weekend.
So the us version the t mobile version of the LG v40 can be unlocked and rooted?

If you notice no V40 model has the unlock code as of yet, that im aware of the US Unlocked B&O version is the only one with Access to the Bootloader/Fastboot area the other models that try to reach it just get a normal reboot...but they still need to release the unlock code for them to use.
You can also checkout my thread here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v40/help/root-t3878148/ Where everyone seems to be chiming in

Well if you have it try the button combination to reach it or via adb on PC but if you get a normal reboot then you don't have access

I am pretty sure we use a hex editor and find all instances of partition dl and switch all the values to true i think only bcheck is false by default and add store in front of the dev thats just my theory its a lot of work to do but if someone wants to try you can. I might be wrong there is no info anywhere about patching dll's and also changing value to true changes size of dll i dont know if that matters or not.

I see. I was going to see the differences in between the old DLL's that worked straight from extraction and this one which doesn't to see if I could "patch" it so it would using IDA pro, but I'm pretty busy and haven't looked into this stuff before so yeah also kind of reluctant on wasting time, like as you said there really isn't much info on this stuff. But because flash too, an older tool than LGUP, recognizes the dll and its versioning. So there must at least be some similarities or if its the worst case scenario it only shares some version variable.

I can probably end up finding one, as I have most the V30 KDZs for the H933, and I think there are patched DLL's lying around XDA, but the problem here with the V40 DLL is that it doesn't work straight from extraction of the kdz. The first step is to get it working and then the second step is getting it working with the dev options.
Hello everyone. Any updates in the correct DLL for LGUP V40? Thanks

I was going through the dll in hex editor and i notice there was an error code saying something about lgup version lower then 1.16 so maybe the key is getting newer version of lgup. the problem is 1.15 isnt even accessible.

Have you tried editing that check? I honestly was more or less waiting on an official bootloader unlock, but it doesn't seem like thats coming for the US Unlocked model...

@theelite @awireless , I'm not sure if you have given up hope on this, but I have the information you need on how to do this. A good friend of mine from China sent me something he found on how to flash a pie KDZ to the LG G7, but the document was in chinese so I couldn't really understand it, but I noticed it detailed the process of how to unlock LGUP in the same way you wanted to enable cross-device flashing, etc. I've done my best to translate and consolidate the document for ease of use. If no one has the time to do this, I will get to it when I have time off from work.

That is very awesome nice to know that information but the issue is with the dll of the firmware this is how to patch lgup to let all the options appear we already have the options we need the dll to work.
I really wanted that info though that's really good to know.
Do you still have copy of the Chinese version?
