I finally got around to installing the latest EU stable rom, 8.0.11.0. Most apps cant seem to get a gps signal, like maps, yelp, weather widget. But when i launch Waze, the GPS icon on the notification bar pops right up and Waze find my location perfectly. All the gps settings are set to high accuracy and permission for apps are set.
Anyone else see this? Am i missing something?
Can't confirm...

Ok, so i was able to figure out what's going on, I downloaded GPS Fix and it has 3 GPS sections, the top 2 were working fine, but the bottom one said Google Play GPS or somthing like that, and it was blank. So I went to some website that helped me uninstall the google play services and reinstall the latest one and now GPS is working fine!
Just in case any of you other folks have GPS issues you'll be able to track it down.
I'm guessing Waze does not use Google Play services for GPS and that's why that one worked fine.

Ok This idea came to me earlier today, sense 2.1 roms (Speedy ports) have a recently used apps bar in the notifications menu. Well I found a better use for it,
Instead of seeing the app you just closed why not display common everyday apps? e.g. phone, flashlight, facebook, twitter, camera. See that way you don't have to run around your UI to find what you want, It's simply a drag and drop away

The con is this.
Making the apks run in a list and then closing (background) constantly may effect you wanting to see your recently used apps (The one where you just long press home button and it displays) those apps the first 4 or so will be which ever default you have set up. any way I'm seeking some help with this I'm not new but nor am I marinated in sense feature modifying.
Any one interested?
also My current method an apk that opens and closes each app seems to cause issues (obviously) so I'm seeking help in doing the proper system edit to get this Modification up and running.

Hello,
I just received my brand new Note 5 today.... Everything it's okay..... But I keep getting Google play services stopped when I try to open keep or Android pay.... Everything else is working fine except Google Keep and Android Pay....
Please help... What can I do
Mine did this too while setting it up last night. I havent seen it happen since though after the one time.
Go in to Application Manager and find Play Services. It probably needs to be updated. After I took the AT&T update I started getting "services error" messages and got a notification that there was a Play Services update available.

Clear cache, data. Should be good,.
I keep location services off most of the time to improve battery life. When I turn them on, I only ever use the GPS option and never select the wifi/cell tower option because it doesn't work well for me. I'm new to using tasker and after searching this section of the forum can't find a guide for what I would like to do. When I open the maps application, I would like the gps to turn on so it can get a location and if I start navigation I'd like it to stay on even if I shut the screen off. When I close the maps application, I'd like location services to be disabled as if I went into settings and turned it off there. Is this possible to do? It's very annoying to have to keep turning it on and off myself and would be really nice if tasker could do it automatically for me.
Create 2 tasks. One will be a stop task, one a start.

Create a profile with maps to trigger your start task. Then long press the task on the profile and choose your stop task.
It appears one has to have high accuracy location ON else nothing really works anymore in Pie.
In Oreo, my location was set as GPS only, all apps functioned fine like this. With all apps I'm referring to Google maps, Wifi analyzer, Google location sharing etc..
Can folks who are on One UI confirm this to be the case, as perhaps hopefully I'm missing something. I don't like the idea of being forced to use high accuracy all the time.

I think I figured it out. The setting I was looking for appears to be within Google location accuracy menu within Google settings. In Oreo I could set the location to GPS only from the setting menu and couldn't find it in One UI.

Sorry for the extra post. The only way I could locate "location accuracy" was within the attached screen.

This problems happening to me since C.08 update, I guess (Now on C.09).
Phone was working ok, but at some point my apps started randomly loosing internet access. While the phone it's connected, and working, some given apps (Mainly Instagram, Telegram, Samnsung Browser or Play Store) loose their internet access (But not at the same time. I can have Telegram disconnected, but Play store working).
Whenever I reboot the phone all apps start working again, but after a few minutes/hours some of them get disconnected again.
Funny thing it's same apps on my work profile keep working flawlessly.
I've done a factory reset and installed apps again from scratch, but same thing keeps happening. Also I've checked the Energy options to have them always connected. I've also been using work profile since having the phone, and never had such problem until C.08...
Any clue? Thanks!
You already mentioned about doing a factory reset.
So I will cut to chase.
Data saver might be on...
