The included screen protector is made of plastic. I have bought orzly screen guard as I have used it earlier too and will opt for the edge to edge tempered glass screen protector from oneplus

The "included" screen protector is only intended to keep the screen free from scratches during shipping and shouldn't be expected to prevent scratches during daily use. The actual screen is more scratch resistant than what you're referring to as the "included screen protector".

Does anyone know if this phone have any kind of scratch protection like Gorilla Glass or similar ?
Im also curious, because they never mentioned the gorilla glass. But nobody said it doesnt has it.
No,apparently not,its just Super LCD2.
However rather than just use a plastic film screen protector you can get tempered glass screen protectors for it thus greatly improving its protection.
Nillkin are one the known brands, search ebay and you will find.

I don't find screen scratching big issue. I'm more afraid about screen breaking under pressure or something similar. Screen protectors don't protect from that.
Yes but as I said, the Nillkin ones are tempered glass which I believe are shatterproof.
These are not the soft plastic types.
Problem is it's not shipped outside US, so can't geet it here in france. Maybe someone knows an equivalent protection ?
purchased a tempered glass protector, it broke, and the screen was intact.
Its the second time i broke a tempered glass, and save my phone's screen, so now, i dont have any doubt on its efficiency
Ebay.uk with shipping in france may help you, this is where i purchased mine

look like it's worth trying, even if I'm buying a case for the phone.
My phone cracked under pressure but its on like the inside of the phone and its got like purple pixels around it.. I need to get a screen protector soon.

I know this is several months later, but I just wanna throw this out there.
Screens crack because they become weak around the points at which they scratch, so if there are no scratches on the screen, there are no weak points on the screen for it to break along. They just make sure that pressure gets uniformly distributed along the glass so that it has less chance to break. That is the main functions of screen protectors: eliminating weak points on the screen.

I guess it has to be a pretty deep scratch relative to screen thickness, to have any substantial effect.

Actually, the scratch doesn't need to be that deep to have an effect. It's the way that crack resistant glass is designed.
How good is this Gorilla Glass 4? What would I have to do to get a scratch on my phone without a screen guarf? If I take good care of the phone, would I still need to put a screen guard?

I scratched my screen in the first few days on my first s7 edge. I never put it in my pocket or anywhere besides on a table in its case. I'm not sure fire it got scratched but I would definitely put some sort of screen protector on
Edit: Also this belongs in the Q&A section since its not asking about accessories directly
as i always says. You can replace a screen protector easily, but you cant easily replace your phones screen.
So IMO its better to have a protector and not need it, then have a scratch on the screen that you have to look at all the time.
I've seen many reports that the S7 edge scratches very easy. Even a film protector is better then nothing.
I've definitely noticed a few scratches on my S7 Edge but I'm starting to wonder if it's the oleophobic coating and not the actual glass. The scratches aren't deep by any means. I DO NOT notice the scratches unless I turn off the screen and look for them.
I can't see any scratches on mine, and it's never had a screen protector on it. But it goes in my left hand pocket when I'm carrying it, and nothing else goes in that pocket when the phone is there. Maybe a handkerchief on rare occasions, but nothing harder than a soft cloth.
Hey guys just decided to make a quick unboxing, review and installation guide of the IQ shield scree. Protector for the one plus 3. In my opinion is the best screen protector as of now. I tried to get very close so you can inspect the edges Hopefully the little video helps those who are a but confused. Thanks!
I ended up getting this screen protector. I installed it yesterday. My orlzy screen protector kept coming off.
Its been different not being on tempered glass but I would still recommend this screen protector.

Yes I do agree. Its a bit different but I believe as off now each glass protector I order seems to either get in the way of a case or have another problem.
Okay so I have the device for over a month now and only now I managed to find a screen protector for it. But as soon as I applied it, the bottom part of screen won't respond to touch anymore unless I am touching the metal bezel. So basically if I try to use my phone as it lies down anywhere, I can't. I'll have to pick it up in my hand. I then even tried with a different tempered screen protector but the issue remained. Though the touch works perfectly fine without the tempered glass on.
I understand how capacitive touch screens work but I believe if the touch works fine without the screen protector, there should not be any such issue with it. Is my device defective? Any help would be appreciated.
I'm having the same problem in a lesser degree. Since putting a tempered glass, the very bottom of the navigation bar is unresponsive (while I didn't have any problems before putting the tempered glass on). I'm using a cheap tempered glass so it's been my guess that it's not a good quality product, which explains the touch screen issue.
I didn't try another tempered glass since I got used to using the top bar of the navigation bar so I don't know if the problem occurs with all tempered glasses. I bought a couple of plastic screen protectors if I get tired of the problem.

Did you try touching the metal bezel and then trying whether the navigation bar responds aptly or not. In my little understanding, touching any metal parts provides earthing to the circuit and facilitates transfer of electrons thereby improving touch function.
But I have never had any such issues with any of my previous devices.

No, it doesn't change anything. It's the first time I'm using a tempered glass on one of my devices so I don't have any point of comparison.
I don't think the Motorola Service Centre is going to be of much of a help here as the device works just fine without the screen protector on.
Guess I'll have to find some plastic screen protectors and trust the Gorilla Glass 3.
Same with me, putting a tampered glass on made the bottom right portion of the screen very unresponsive, after taking it off, the sensitivity was fine.
Anyone know of a good plastic protector?
I took off the tempered glass and put a simple protective screen and the difference in screen responsiveness is amazing. It feels like a totally new touchscreen!

It would really help if you could tell where you got the simple protective screen from.
No matter the device has gorilla glass 3 protection, but I still don't want to keep the screen exposed.

I just bought the cheapest matte protective screen I could find on Amazon here in France. I don't remember the exact reference, just that it was coming from Germany (I usually buy protective screens made in Germany, I've never been disappointed so far).
For a while there, I was getting bombarded with facebook ads for a gel-type screen protector which dries out to a tempered glass type protector. In its original form it looks a little like a sheet of gelatine which has just been removed from a dish of warm water. My current glass protector cracked a couple of days ago (after just a few weeks) and so I'm looking for something which will fit to the entire screen and not just to the end of the flat area (I have a Huawei P20 Pro). I thought this gel-type of protector might be a good idea as the manufacturer claims that when still wet, it will mold to any shape of screen. And when it dries out it will have the same hardness and quality of a tempered glass protector.
All clear so far? Well the problem is, I can't find the ad or brand of the protector now that I've become interested in it. Can anyone help me out?

If it takes the publication you saw is just a prototype.
If you are looking for a tempered glass that takes up the entire surface of the screen, you can buy a 5D tempered glass
