AT&T just blocked my Note 4 running full Note 7 ROM - Galaxy Note 4 General

Warning / FYI:
After installing and running Nemesis Note 7 Rom, AT&T suspended my service tonight and also blocked / blacklisted my imei. Mind you I am using an N910T3 and have been flashing custom Roms on this note 4 since January of this year. I installed the ROM yesterday and have been messing with it up until 7:30 tonight when I realized I didn't have mobile data. I thought I broke something by flashing governor tuner but uninstalling it and reapplying data fixes wasn't working so I restored a backup that had no issues and still no data. Confirmed by logging into my at&t account that it had been suspended and then began a lengthy chat with at&t rep which is how I found out they blacklisted the imei also in addition to suspending service.
The representative was adamant that the phone imei had been blocked by TMobile, but a call to them confirmed that while at&t put in the blacklisting, reported the phone as stolen as soon as Nemesis ROM registered a note 7 to their system yesterday night, and that there was nothing in their system they could do to unblock the imei. I
Long story short, after explaining the concept of custom Roms to the rep, at&t has put an unblock request in to be resolved by the 14th, hopefully it works, and just a word of warning to everyone!
PS. I had also changed build.prop product model to SM-G935F shortly after installing yesterday, so the red flag must've gone into their system as soon as it went online. Maybe developers need to stop putting the N9300 as the product model stock to avoid this!!

Very true

Note 4 get Note 7 recall
Hi there,
I just got the Note 7 recall on my Note 4 running Note 7 Nemesis rom.
Do you have more information on your issues?

LOL. What does that "very true " mean?

Im going to guess "very true" means stop putting N9300 as product model. Just guessing though.

It's just a very weird comment. Someone rants about something and someone else says "very true" as if he/she as experienced something similar.

I find this hilarious! I'm so glad that I kept my N910C running on the stock Samsung OS.

Note 4 -> Note 7 deactivation notification
I have just modified the model number to SM-N920F in build.prop (as suggested by a helpful user to another post I made) and stopped receiving the notifications!
DONE!

glad i parted ways with ports long back. stability is most important.

I changed my 910T semi-randomly to a 9200. No notices, etc.
Mtotallywired, you got a ram deal.
For the metaphysical discussion of "Very True" I think ghanaboy was agreeing with the OP stating "Maybe developers need to stop putting the N9300 as the product model stock to avoid this!! "

[Q] My battery gets extremely hot is this normal

Hello I just upgraded from the droid maxx to the droid turbo and I love this phone bit for some reason whenever I do any sort of thing on it. The CPU gets extremely hot. According to my pjone y CPU has reached all the way to 139°f and right now I am only using the internet and it has gone from 90°f to 134°f. Is this normal? I can understand if I am using a lot of apps at one time but I am only using the internet and it keeps getting hotter and the app I am using to check my CPU temputure says that at this tempurture it can damage my phone. Should I take it in to have it looked at?

Apparently this is a common problem. I just called VZW today about it and they are overnighting me a brand new device since they have no refurbs left due to sending out so many replacements.
Thank you for the information. I just called them and they said because I bought the phone less than 2 weeks ago they will replace it with a brand new one. However, I wonder if they are ever going to be able to root the droid turbo. Because if they ever do that will help the battery life and would probably other things like the heating problem

I wish I could say I was even hopeful for root at this point but there seems to be no interest in working on a Verizon exclusive Moto device. Our only chance, in my opinion, is if we can benefit from someone taking on this years Moto X.

The battery is going to get hot because of many things. Its not a over heating issue. Just because Verizon says it is doesnt make it a problem. Verizon half the time has no clue. Call motorola they will give u the best information. They will tell you its normal.

Read my post a little more carefully next time. It says "there seems to be no interest", not to mention none of the Motos havent seen a full root exploit since 444 came out. Roughly a year of no further development for an OEM would suggest little to no interest in my opinion

Again if u read post from others ....and I quote "if people are working on root exploit usually they would wait till the next big OS release which would be lollipop and also they would not post anything to avoid commentors like yourself from bugging them about the exploit". Its common knowledge here on XDA. Research it sometime.

Commenters like myself? Are you serious?! Last I checked there a no rules about posting your opinion whenever you please. Never once have I asked a Dev for an ETA or update. So unless stating your point of view on a subject would deter a Dev from releasing anything, which is unlikely, how about you get off your high horse and quit acting like an entitled troll. Its commenters like you that have given XDA a bad rep

CM 14.1

Why isn't anyone working on CM development for note 5 ?
i hope anyone will port CM14.1 for us soon !!
Not to be rude but this sound demanding. Cm 14 will be hard and not for your average person. The best thing you can do is get to reading on how to build ... good luck

Nope, they probably won't be. We'll that's what they said. It's really trolls here and @RaymanFX fault that they left. Rayman couldn't build anything except his rom with camera, flashlight, etc not working. So he asked Mynogen... He had guts to do it after he denied help to Lil and Muffy And rainbow. And he started going off by saying that CM is open sourced etc. Later on another thread he told Lil that he wasn't releasing any builds because they weren't good. didn't he say CM was open sourced? :silly:
So to sum it up:

If you fail to even grasp basic information made public on a site called 'github', then maybe, just maybe you should stop posting nonsense.
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_samsung_noblelte-common/tree/cm-14.0.
This is the device tree for Android Nougat, kernel and vendor trees have been created a year ago or so, and ever since I have been working on the device.
That being said, I own the N920T variant, which is still facing the issues with no incall audio that I was not able to fix yet (and nobody else was able to fix it either).
However, I was told my device sources (yes, mine, I and only I created them from the beginning, of course many more people worked on the CyanogenMod and Exynos platform code) work fine on other variants too and as part of those efforts, the N920C (international variant) has working incall audio with the same audio and RIL stack.
I'm not even going to start arguing about money here, with an average pay of 30€ per hour for an engineering/integration task like this, that would make 25 hours of work max. (then the price of a new Galaxy Note 5 would be surpassed). I spent way more time working on the device so far, believe it or not, I honestly don't care.
You are free to compile the images from the sources I provided and flash them on your device - the general system will work, while (important) things like the camera will not.
But wouldn't you say at least the basic functions of a phone, like calls, should be working before releasing even a public build?

[Solved] Victim of a Fraud from Ebay seller

I purchased Lg G6 unlocked t-mobile from ebay India on a half price of original "this is what I was patting my back with pride for" for a while though. Well, today I got a prompt on my phone screen that T-mobile temporary unlock period is expired, please reboot. I could smell the issue by now and as soon as I rebooted another message said "Network Lock". Now my sim does not have network signals. It is as good as a brick because I do not have t-mobile sim nor I think this phone was outright'ly purchased before it landed in my hands.
Looking for options:
1) does flashing custom rom (If available) release the network lock?
2) are there software available that can unlock without t-mobile sim?
3) are there paid unlock services available for foreign network?
4) any other that I am not aware of?

Sadly only option is to return/get a refund for the phone I’m sure eBay will work in your favour due to this.
Try the network unlock app (purple icon) and request unlock that way. Make sure your on WiFi.
If that doesn’t work only solution is to buy a app unlock on eBay which usually varies in price. And that’s only if the phones imei is not blacklisted

Thanks for the guidance.
I contacted my local market repair shop, he tried unlocking with his software but failed. He tried unlocking by sending a request to some recognised network unlocker but failed. Now he is suggesting a solution that a modified software flashing can be done to revoke the network lock from it for which I'm unsure about.
While surfing for the resolution, I have come across 2 options,
1 - flashing a ROM for H872 from this xda post.
2 - Have gone through several "GSMHosting" forum pages and people are doing network unlocking at ease with logs as proof. Is this all legit?

1. Flashing a rom is not going to unlock it.
2. No it’s not legit to unlock a T-Mobile phone unless T-Mobile themselfs unlock it. But there’s plenty of app unlocking services on eBay between $15 and $30 usually. And if they can’t unlock it it’ll just be a WiFi only device.

See, you replied after one month that's a very long time. That is why I'm asking.
Most probably people forget to reply so if you just give us the solution that would be very helpful in those kind of situations if anyone encounters it.

Bro at least give us a solution in advance so that when we encounter any problem we can fix it quickly
See, you replied after one month that's a very long time. That is why I'm asking.
Most probably people forget to reply so if you just give us the solution that would be very helpful in those kind of situations if anyone encounters it.

Its not that I read your post after a month but I responded late cuz been busy with my stuff and 2ndly your phone still works. I have helped about 21 people so far who have network lock issue, few came back to me to say it worked for them and few dint. All I know is that it worked for me and may work for others too. If my intention was just to keep it to myself I would have already wiped out my relevant posts.
However, thats not the point, point is this forum have ample of info already to understand how to fix this issue but all it takes is to read through all the pages and posts which most people dont take pain for.

Do you want me to post the solution in public? I thought that is what YOU DIDN'T want?
Listen, arif238 just decided it was ez'ier to quote everyone who posted asking you a question of the solution, folks who were basically in the same boat with him. What do we call this...lazy fingers. My response was calling this out, if you didn't realize. He too should have written you a DM for the solution, right?
BTW again thanx for sharing the solution with me. I didn't pursue it though. I decided to return the units and got a US997.
Please helpp!!
I have the same problem. I got my phone online for half price too! At first when I entered my local sim, it was working. The phone was new so I wanted to explore it and opened the device unlock app to see what it was about. Tried pressing permanent unlock but it said failed. Then tried temporary and it approved. 2 days ago, it said that the unlock period has expired or something and it the network tag said "network locked". T-mobile lets you temporarily unlock your phone twice a month. So I've unlocked it for another month but won't be able to do it again. Please helpp!!

File a claim. There’s nothing that can by pass that unless you buy an expensive unlock and that’s assuming there’s no payment due on the phone

@mannunikhil said that they found a way. I really don't want to go through the headache of transferring everything on to my computer and reinstall and restore all the apps on my old phone and then do the same when I replace it after I get my claim.

Google Authorization Lock Bypass??

Mod Edit:
Thread closed due to security issue.
Even if your story is 100% accurate; discussing, sharing, links, or guides to bypassing a locked device is never appropriate on Xda, and this should be for obvious reasons.
I was just handed the phone and was told that if I can get through the authorization lock, I can keep it. Does anyone know how to bypass it? I've looked online and it all looks like B.S., and the previous owner does not have the email. Help??
These type of posts have received over and over again the same answer: NO, no help or guidance whatsoever will be provided here, as in such cases when somebody, for some odd reason can not unlock a device, most surely it is stolen or such, any legal owner can take the device to the carrier or samsung service to solve the issue, that is, with a proof of legal ownership

You don't think any of us here are going to believe that the previous owner doesn't have/know their own email address do you? Lmfao!! That feature was made for this very reason, to keep thieves from getting into and trying to use it.. Besides once it's been listed as stolen the carriers going to block the phones IMEI from being used so it won't be able to be used anywhere once it's blacklisted!! It's trash now!

Re-obtaining a bootloader code from Huawei

Hi all,
Back when the P20 Pro was released and Huawei was still offering codes, I obtained one.
However I cannot for the life of me remember what I did with it, now a recent flash (my fault) of a service firmware, relocked my bootloader.
Do you think Huawei will give me my code again? Seeing as they aren't actually unlocking a new device or one out of the grace period back in July?
Who would be best to contact to check?
UK based.
I doubt that. But anyway, Huawei is doomed and so i suggest you wait. Maybe they will reopen bootloader unlocking

I'm not trying to obtain a bootloader code for the first time.
Simply trying to have the same one they have provided again.
Telling me to get a new phone isn't helping pal

If they replaced your motherboard then they changed the IMEI too, which means you need a new bootloader unlock
---------- Post added at 06:05 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:04 AM ----------
Ok so, i highly doubt they will give you the unlock code for your phone since they don't provide bootloader unlock codes, but you can give it a try using Hicare

What are you talking about?
I did not say I sent my device to them? I said I couldn't find the unlock code they sent me??
You're making things up.
Please don't worry about replying. This thread already looks mental.
I'm in the same boat. I'm so sure I saved it somewhere, but just can't find it now.
And what the heck is The Restless Soul on about? He's either on drugs or having a stroke, it's really weird.

No idea mate, but if he wants to share some of them there drugs I'll clear my schedule..
Did you call them?? Are you UK based??
They said they'd call me back but nothing.
Sorry that you've got the same thing but I'm kind of glad I'm not the only one..
Next time I call I'm mention I'm not alone. Calling tomorrow
So the unlock code depends on your IMEI, serial and product ID right - so it doesn't matter if the OS is upgraded?
I have my unlock code from March 2018 when I got the phone.

That's correct.
However if you rebranded by funky Huawei then your code will have altered and you won't be able to reuse it..
If you didn't, or you used the guide I worked on then you'll be fine..
Can I ask, how did you obtain the code? What method of delivery did they use?? I've checked every email I own and found nothing..
So it must have come up on screen during the unlock process, im annoyed at myself for not making a note, I didn't imagine I'd ever need it again..
That being said, this is my data which I obtained from Huawei and by law in entitled to a copy of it.
So they are obligated to assist.

I haven't rebranded at all.
I wrote to Huawei customer service:
I got an email on 12/04/2018 from [email protected] from 'Sandra'
Does that help?

So to confirm you obtained a bootloader unlock code via email?
If so then that's good. That's a definite communication and I can obtain that from them for myself.

So I think there was meant to be a self service page
It never worked for me so I emailed them and gave them the above info. They wrote back with the code in an email, yes

Either way it's still a correspondence so I'm still obliged to have that information..
Cheers.
Date 12th April 2018 , for the correspondence. That was the time they closed giving bootloader codes out.?

I think it was around then, but perhaps end of April? I know I got in before anyone else.
There did use to be a website which would generate the boot codes for around 10EUR I think?
