Thought this would be a useful area to find solutions & share fixes relating to RR 14.1 ........
First of all this is early development brought to you by droid.riz who is doing a fantastic job so far....
However like anything things happen or not (all may be stable for you as you may never use X feature that is indeed buggy).....
Can I Dirty flash over iterations?
Answer
Yes Normally this shouldn't be an issue but please if stated by dev to go clean then advice is to do so....
What is the Camera Quality like? Any Quality loss?
Answer:
For me it's fine but I'm no photographer and just soley go by what looks good to my eyes lol Some are experiencing problems with FC's when using front facing or switching or entering the preview (displays a black screen) try using a 3rd party camera perhaps....?
Is theming available?
Answer: You can use Substratum (however it can as reported be buggy and can lead to bootloop (depending on theme) for me I'm using DTS (Dark Theme Stock) which is working just fine.
Is this Rom pre rooted?
Answer: from my understanding yes, however I did myself flash SR5.......
What Works & Doesn't?
For the most part everything.....Camera is buggy for some, others it's fine.....
Some things in addition features may or may not work further & ongoinf testing by users required & report, from what i have been through (all is good) report if not....
Can this be used as a Daily Driver?
Answer: Why of course for me being at an early build it's pretty much stable and for me is a great daily driver...
What is the battery life like?
Answer: This is always subjective and will always vary from user to user.....but so far for me it's really good...
This is initial and Guides etc can always be added.....but thought it would be a good idea to have a space to talk away but connected to Resurrection Remix 14.1 .....
Mods: If you feel this is inappropriate and not required...then feel free to remove....but I have seen this set up previously & can be a productive method to (yes ask in original thread) but here to.....Reducing the time needed to find a solution & or answer?
Echo in call Fix ....(Reported Working) Note this is not my work.....[emoji106]

F-droid

I use this "market" (better "repository") of Free and Open-Source apps for Android.
I've also put there my app.
There's a thread about it (quite old), that was closed by an admin, because suspected of advertising.
Apart from the fact that it's all about free and open-source, I don't even get the point.
Anyway, since here we are in the "App Stores" section, I think it's OK.
(Just to be clear, I'm not the same user)

In F-droid, is necessary to publish your source code?
F-Droid is only for open-source apps, so yes.
shelpsom addressed
Just found F Droid and yeah nice idea with only open source software
and F Droid is the standard market app for the Replicant project fully open source Android
Using this since 1 year and its pretty awesome to have an open market is there any reason why there are no pictures of the apps are shown in f-droid?

Does anyone know anymore repos for this?
This is helpful, especially for me who doesn't like to search for myself most of the time.
I check F-Droid daily and have found a few very cool and interesting projects that I otherwise wouldn't have known about. Many thanks!

Hello?
Any F-Droid users out there?

Recently upgraded to Zuk Z2 Pro with AEX 5.4 Oreo 8.1.0, and gave the “new” F-Droid a go.
All I have to say is I can perfectly remember and understand why I never upgraded from 0.102.x on my old Falcon XT1032: buggy, confusingly filled with crap I'll never use, the installed apps list shows erroneous entries… what a fLIck1ng piece of sh1t! :silly:
Deserved final score: garbage.
I apologise to the creators of this app if this sounds somewhat gross, but in my opinion the old versions' interface is a lot better, quite a lot.
Anyone out there thinks sort of the same?
Cheers
F-Droid down?
Hello,
for about 2 hours I try to get in contact with the PC to the website of F-Droid.
"404 Not found."

Is the page down?

[REAL FEEL] Fastest ROM out there?

Hey guys.
I'm always curious what's the fastest ROM out there.
I don't want to see benchmarks, just the "REAL EVERYDAY FEEL" of the ROM counts.
At the moment I'm switching between RasSaber, SaberMod and the AOKP PUB builds by Whitehawkx, bigxie or kecinzer.
Most of the time I pair it with the latest franco nightly.
Since I tasted the smoothness of these various set-ups, I'm always coming back since PA for example is just quiet a bit slower.
So enough said. Can someone point to a faster set-up in comparision to the above mentioned??
Greetz.

Threads like this are pointless.
Try them all out everyone has different opinion. Please don't make threads like this

I know that there's nothing like the "best" ROM, but there was huge progress in performance with the new gcc toolchains. Just wanted to know if there were other ROMs as fast. With the actual population of ROMs I cannot try them all
theres no right answer for real feel, as real feel will be different for everyone, and every setup. there isnt a way to measure real feel.

In developer options change everything from 1.0 to 0.5, get Nova Launcher, choose in settings Super Fast for animations and evrey rom will fly for you
These threads just turn into people posting the ROM theyre currently on. Just try them all until you find one that you think is fast, There Is No Other Way™

Making poster about installing custom rom.

So I am making poster for my english class in university "THE GOOD AND THE BAD SIDE OF INSTALLING CUSTOM ROM TO ANDROID PHONE". I am writing down pros and cons. So far I have for the pros:
Ability to use powerfull root apps
Better backup and restore
Better battery saving settings
Ability to overclock cpu, undervolt cpu, etc.
Better control of your baseband
Latest version of android OS
Ability to crack applications
Various kernel choises
Ability to edit various device settings
And for the cons:
Warranty will be void
Can be very unstable
Applications may not be able to run
Battery life can be worse
Can be slower
Some features may be lost
Can be unsafe to use tracking wise
Possibility of bricking your device
As I said, I need to make a poster. So far I have this information. Maybe you have anything to add? Seriously, do not hesitate, spread your ideas, you will really help me a lot Also, maybe you have any ideas what pictures should I put on my poster? i think I should put at least two pictures of "something" on it, otherwise it will look very empty.
Thanks for you brainstorm

And what do you mean by some apps won't run in the cons options?

I've seen where certain apps will not run correctly with certain ROM's, particularly AOSP ROMS. For example, the BofA app runs fine on my Sammy with TW. On AOSP, it can't take a picture of your check to make a deposit thru the app.

Warranty may or may not be void depending on what goes wrong with the phone, who the manufacturer is, where you live, local consumer legislation and how much you are willing to push the manufacturer to honour the warranty.

Agreed. Im sure 10s of different threads /questions has been asked here and on Reddit.
Just try some that has gotten good reception, i doubt it will be any bad. ...
Found Two Champions
I was in the same dilemma so i tried every single ROM to be sure
So here is my answer
1. Freedom OS
**Pros:
-Oxygen OS based ROM
-Super stable
-Great Battery life
-Adaway
-Viper4fx
-much more stuff...
**Cons
-No more customisations than original ROM
-Not sure about Frequent updates
2. Lineage OS 15.1 unofficial
**Pros:
-oreo 8.1
-Great battery life
-lots of customisations possible
-Has much more developer support
-better than stock ROM
**Cons:
-few things are not working
Charging doesn't make a sound nor vibrate, no matter what settings.
Option to switch hw keys light on/off is missing (i know not real issue, but many prefer them off)
Display modes missing sRGB, DCI-P3
-alpha stage so not super stable
-bugs here and there
-you have to decrypt your phone { must for earlier versions but not sure about 15.1}
After all it depends on you what's your taste ....
**SPECIAL MENTION
omni rom and nitrogen os are also super good but don't have great battery life
TELL ME IF IT WAS HELPFUL:good:
Don't do this. It's a free OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers thread and I am asking it.
It's true there are threads with list of Oreo ROMs, but they are unstable, even if they are official release (not beta) they are new official, meaning that battery life is so so. My question is what rom is stable in terms of battery. People might ask what rom is more feature rich .and so on
Please respect everyone who is asking. Or ask the moderators to delete the thread if you don't agree.

Don't make new thread if another one is already existing. We are fed up with these threads and the best answer to this question is that you have to test it for yourself, because everyone has different usage pattern.

[Discussion] Building LineageOS from Source for M7spr

Since last time we have no seen any official maintainer for LOS or other custom roms, however, right now will be an exception, today I decided to jump into the build process instead of be a tester only, right now it can't be certain when and how official build will arrive but I'm glad to say I'm going to be a maintainer for LOS 14.1 and beyond or maybe it sound great how I was thinking, I have a work by now that I need cover and not to mention that there's other devs that will be helping me but they also have a live outside, so please be patient if you're a tester, we would like to push official support on our side and on our devices but for next coming months, everything is not gonna be easy, right now our Calpella device is fetching the lineage source codes, as I've stated before, building requires great hardware which provides good builds times, also that having more great hardware more easy will be bring more builds for our devices, right now will start doing only m7spr builds and when everything get set up, I'll bring m7vzw builds,
Again I know what it seems but is up to you, but I repeat, again, building requires a great hardware, since having more ram, a good CPU and having SSD's, if you would like to donate even knowing that I'm not recognized as a developer then it will be okay, as I've stated in previous post, You can donate with computer parts and or with money but, AGAIN! it is up to you guys, this is just the start of everything that going beyond this more and more.
Any help from dev would be appreciated and also will be great having help from users as well, this is not a hook or guide how to compile here, not even tried to cover up or do a guide as they're already wrote in the wiki pages of current bases (Los, Aicp, RR, etc.)
Right now the only thing we need is a help from other devs and also help from you guys, yeah, the one that still rock with this old device, and that's because I'm downloading this over a 56kbps connection and not to mention that I'm living in a mountain basically, but that's a limit in my connection and I want to subscribe to another service provider.
