[Q] Orange Htc One

Hello everybody. My phone is bought with contract on Orange in UK, software is 1.28.61.7, but the phone isn't carrier locked. May it be the reason why I don't get update to 1.29... with new camera update and so on? Maybe the phone may be different form international version in this way? Is there any way of making my phone to international eupopean version (if it isn;t now)? After everything i want to have my phone not-rooted, and get updates from htc ota with everybody else... Don't know, if i asked correctly and everybody understand me, but thanks in advanced anyway.
Umh, also in germany O2 One aren't branded, but the update is released from O2, in fact, O2 phone can't see and don't have 1.29.401.12 version...
They have 1.29.209.xx version, i don't remeber which with precision.
However, i resolved this problem with root and flashing a custom rom
EE seems to be the slowest of all the UK carriers at pushing out updates, you'll probably be waiting for another good few weeks yet. Might want to try this rom since apparently you can keep OTA updates with it:

If you flash stock boot.img and recovery.img it should, yeah. Coming from Samsung myself it was a bit weird getting things going initially, read through this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265618

[Q] Going back to 4.1.2 stock

Hello to all,
Sorry if this post has already been covered a gazillion times previously!!
I have a HTC ONE, which has been rooted for a few months to v4.2.2 from v4.1.2, but I want to go back to v4.1.2 so I can receive OTA's; I can't figure out which version of a RUU I need to download and I don't want to flash something that might brick my phone!
I have checked what software version is currently on my phone and it shows 1.29.161.11; I presume this is not the correct version hence I have the Revloution HD Rom installed!?
I would appreciate some help as I keep reading that I need something called "S-OFF" in order to flash a new rom, but I have no idea what this is?!?
Thanks in advance.
Rick.

[Q] Unrooting my HTC One

Hi Guys, I just got the phone (international/ non-carrier version) yesterday. Updated it to 4.3, and rooted it, following the guide from HTCOneRoot.com.
Everything is fine and dandy, as when I rooted my previous phone. But in my sheer eagerness, I didn't find out that the 4.4 was available also.
I now have a rooted phone, and I can't update it, as it goes directly to TWRP recovery when I try to install. I guess this is what it's supposed to do?
From what I can read you cannot install OTA when you have rooted your phone.
So I tried looking up how to unroot it. But this seems like a rather difficult project, and I am not sure I understand. From what I read I need to download a RUU, to install a stock rom(?) and I tried looking up this, but there are tons to select from, and I haven't the slightest clue which matches my phone. Can anyone be of assistance, as to how I can revert my root and update to 4.4, so I can root my phone with the latest android, instead? I'm not really interested in getting a custom rom on my phone.
Guess I should've read more about rooting before doing it, as I'm kind of a novice, but I'm more a trial and error kinda guy .
Thanks.
Edit: Or should I just find a custom "stock" KitKat ROM, and install that, from my current position? Is that even possible?
Sort of an answer

Hey man, so to find the right ruu go here htcdev webiste, go under kernel source code and then choose device as the one and then choose carrier and download one of the matching ones.
For the other stuff I'm in the same boat as you. Just waiting for answers...I would try looking at youtube and type how to unbrick htc one and try those first. Didn't work for me but might for you.

Thanks. I'll look that up.
I am not bricked, as the situation is now. I just have a rooted phone, working with 4.3. And I want to upgrade to 4.4.
So I guess I have to choose HTC as carrier? I live in Denmark and am unsure whether to choose EU or EU NFC as region? Also what kernel version do I want to download? I am somewhat unsure what to do next.

Do a fastboot getvar all, and choose the RUU that matches your MID and your CID
I've only rooted my phone so far. From what I understand I can just install a "custom 4.4" from this point, right?

[Q]

Hello guys.
I've posted about a hard brick before ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2758277 ) and I think it is usefull to give you a follow up.
I sent my device to HTC Repair (Arvato Germany), they repaired it inside warranty and I received my device back after 3 months. They solved the problem with the pink camera (hardware changed) and unbricked with a new motherboard. I'm very happy to have my M7 back, but for an unknown reason they put a Swisscom firmware in my device (I'm from Brazil, but we don't have HTC here so Swisscom was an alternative for them). They installed Android 4.4.3 Software Number 6.12.161.5, baseband version 4T.28.3218.04_10.33E.1718.01L Build 6.12.161.5 CL366813 release-keys.
I'm having problems accessing internet (2g/3g), despite the network being working for calls.
In addition, looks like Swisscom is not receiving updates.
I thought about never try to unlock my M7 after the hard brick, but I'm thinking again about updating with a pure Android software and be able to receive updates. These Swisscom settings and apps are useless here in Brazil.
Some suggestion? I've been away for some months, waiting for the repair.

Why? 6.12.161.5 is the latest version.... the 6 in 6.12.161.5 is for android 4.4.3 and this is the latest version for sense based roms.

unlock bootloader and flash any rom you want + radio that work the best for you
or do the full conversion to another version (s-off required)

Thank you. I could S-OFF using Sunshine (paid $25) and put last Google Edition... Everything is perfect now...

Total beginner, need help rooting or getting a custom ROM.

So, firstly, this is my first time ever posting here, in fact I just registered 5 minutes ago.
I recently bought a HTC Desire 626g Dual Sim (NOT 626g+) and I'm getting very tired of android 4.4 and am very interested in either rooting or getting a custom ROM on my phone.
The problem is that I haven't found any reliable way to root my phone or any custom ROMs for my particular make and model.
Second problem is that I have never rooted or flashed a custom ROM onto an android device before, even though this is my third android phone.
So that's it, I'm interested in either rooting or getting a custom ROM, but I don't know where to even begin this endeavour. So if anyone can help me or even point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.
Phone specs:
Android 4.4.2
Android security path level (if this is of any help): 2015-11-01
HTC Sense version 5.3
Kernel version 3.4.67
If there is anything else I need to provide in order to recieve some help, please let me know.
Thanks

Hey man if you are simply looking to root try KingRoot, it worked on my friends HTC Desire 626. Dont think its available in PlayStore so just go to their web and download the apk file.

You would probably need to unlock your bootloader and pay sunshine $30 to make your device s-off so you can change your make and model (cid #) to a HTC desire 626s. Flash one of T-Mobile or Sprint RUU and update your software firmware.
I never had an s-off device so be cautious and do research before you blame me for a bricked device.
