So yeah. I would like to resurrect that old S5570.
I installed this JellyBread v2.1 FINAL by yuriy636 (found on htcmania forums) which is based on CM7 I think. It's surprisingly snappy and smooth but I'm running into problems with Google apps. Google Play Store stopped loading (blank white screen) at some point after upgrading from old Market app and Hangouts keeps failing at background authentication ("Google Talk authentication failed" notification) and crashes when I try to start the app "The application Hangouts (process com.google.android.talk) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
The sync icon is also always on.
I can't seem to uninstall Hangouts in Settings>Apps>Manage Applications. I can only uninstall updates apparently.
Any help would be appreciated.
What ROM do you think I should install in order to run into as less troubles as possible? I only need to be able to run Telegram, Whatsapp and little more.

Just install stock rom and root it. It will be stable and you can use root apps for more features. You can download latest stock rom here https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-S5570/ or use KIES.

Previously have run this application perfectly well, as well as others on 2.1 (SGS), unsure what firmware etc. Just flashed 2.1 -update1, XMJM5-Samset1.9, and although haven't got ANY force closes on any other apps, desktop virtualiser will download, install, and on open:
"The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Any ideas lads?

I wish I could help you but forum rules preempt that.. I'll just tell you that there are repositories online that you can use for this purpose, look them up. Please do not use them for anything other than this use..

I´m not allowed to post in the developers-section. So here we go ;0)
I installed Joenilan´s FroyoFusion on top of the indonesian ROM and I LOVE IT.
The only thing that seems to be missing is youtube and gmail.
I was able to install youtube from the market but I can´t find the gmail app.
I tried to install several versions, or push it through adb nothing worked.. Can somebody please help me ?

I just flashed RoMoW rom in ma sgn. I am not able to the "updated versions" of some Google Services eg. YouTube, Google Street. When the updates are ready to install, pop up eror mssg. comes saying "package file was not signed correctly". How to fix this prob. ?
Search the development forum for "market fix" there are a number of updates to roms to fix this. Not sure about Romow.

i searched but i found nothing + my market is working fine but only Gmail, maps, street view and youtube is not updating. I am heavy user of youtube and it bothers me that i will not be able to see the videos in hd on my phone.
can you find some other way?
Hi everybody, I'm running the latest nightly of the cyanogenmod official for the mi5. I found this error when i try to install the language output package. This happens with every language. Then I flashed aicp rom and it happened again. Can anybody help please? Thanks in advance

But still the language does work, just this irritating message.
I haven't found a solution yet. However, in order to stop the annoying incoming notification (for example when you open google maps) you can remove the auto udpates from Google tts options. It worked for me.

I had this problem too. Just go to setting/apps/text-to-speech and uninstall the update. It worked for me.
